Park Hyung-sik and Park Shin-hye have a fantastic(?) reunion.

 

On the 22nd, JTBC's new Saturday-Sunday drama 'Doctor Slump', which is scheduled to air for the first time on January 27th (Sat), released the first teaser video that brings laughter to the viewers with the delightful twist between Jung Woo-woo (Park Hyeong-sik) and Nam Ha-neul (Park Shin-hye). From their school days when they were competing for first place in school to the worst times of their lives when they fell into a slump, the story they will write together makes people look forward to it.

 

 

'Doctor Slump' is a romantic comedy depicting the cardiopulmonary resuscitation of Yeo Yeong-woo and Nam Ha-neul who hit the brakes after only running on an upward curve in life. The process of two 'disliked' rivals who reunite in a dark time of life and become each other's light provides laughter, excitement, empathy, and comfort. Director Oh Hyun-jong, who has shown sensuous and detailed directing in 'The Man in Memory' and 'Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo', and writer Baek Seon-woo, who has been well-received for his witty writing in 'Living Together' and 'What's Wrong with Secretary Kim', are the 'rom-com dream team'. Expectations are high for the sortie.

 

 

While the teaser posters of same-age rivals Yeo Yeong-woo and Nam Ha-neul were unveiled and garnered attention, the first teaser video released on this day focuses attention on the image of a boy and a girl facing each other under a fluttering cherry blossom tree. Above the faces of two people, recalling memories of their first love(?) with a visual that looks like a page from a romance comic, “Back then, the girl I liked…” “Yeong-woo Yeo’s faint voice adds, “ But the south sky runs away beyond the journey of her kneeling and reaching out her hand. The excitement is short-lived, but the change in attitude of Yeo Yeong-woo, who doggedly pursues Nam Ha-neul, saying, “Back in the day, the girl I ‘extremely loathed’!” stimulates curiosity.

 

 

A fresh and bloody battle of nerves was also captured, as in the phrase, 'In the spring of 2009, I met my worst rival.' Yeo Yeong-woo, a top class in later years, whose rivalry is kindled by the appearance of transfer student Nam Ha-neul. He continued, “Back then, the boy I wanted to grab by the collar! With Nam Ha-neul's narration, "We met again in the worst slump of our lives," the past and present of the two people appear to overlap as they look at each other in bewilderment at their first meeting in 14 years, whether by coincidence or bad luck. I am even more curious about the story behind the reunion of Yeo Yeong-woo and Nam Ha-neul, who face each other again with seemingly different appearances.

 

 

Park Hyung-sik plays the role of Yeo Jeong-woo, a star plastic surgeon who falls into the worst slump of his life. From his school days when he was ranked first in the entire school to becoming a star doctor with both talent and personality, Yeo Yeong-woo's life has been truly solid. However, due to a mysterious medical accident, he is pushed to the edge of a cliff. Park Shin-hye returns as Nam Ha-neul, an anesthesiologist suffering from burnout syndrome. Nam Ha-neul, who was called a genius from the time she was born, became obsessed with studying with her brilliant mind and hard work, and even after becoming a doctor, she became an adult who was crazy about work. One day, when she was living an 'uninteresting' life without knowing how to do anything other than study and work, she suddenly looked back at her life, which had become completely ruined, and pledged to change. How different will the romantic comedy written by Park Hyeong-sik and Park Shin-hye, who reunite after 10 years, be, and the chemistry between the two people makes you excited even as you wait.

Park Shin-hye will lead the new K-drama Doctor Slump with Park Hyun-sik. The two will play as the high school rivals Nam Ha-neul and Yeo Jung-woo. However, despite the tight competition between them when they were young, everything’s about to change when they meet again as adults, finding comfort in each other at the lowest time of their lives.

Written by Baek Sun-woo and directed by Oh Hyun-jong, it’s scheduled to premiere on January 27 on JTBC. Streaming on TVING in South Korea and on Netflix in select regions will also be available.

JTBC has unveiled a cute new set of posters for its upcoming drama “Doctor Slump”!

 

“Doctor Slump” is a romantic comedy about two former rivals who reunite and unexpectedly become each other’s light during the darkest period of their lives.

 

The newly released posters show the drama’s four leads struggling to catch their breath on a running track. Whether slowing down or taking a brief pause, the racing doctors are visibly exhausted as they face the camera.

 

Meanwhile, the caption on the group poster reads, “In everyone’s life, there comes a moment when [your life] needs CPR.”

 

 

“Doctor Slump” also released character posters introducing each of its four leads. Park Hyung Sik will star as Yeo Jung Woo, a star plastic surgeon who went from always being first in his class to becoming a doctor renowned for his unparalleled skills. However, his thriving career suddenly falls into danger in the blink of an eye due to a strange medical accident.

 

 

Meanwhile, Park Shin Hye will play Nam Ha Neul, an anesthesiologist suffering from burnout syndrome. Both brilliant and intensely hard-working, Nam Ha Neul has been a workaholic ever since her school days—to the extent where she doesn’t even know how to let loose and have fun. However, when her life unexpectedly falls apart, she makes up her mind to change.

 

 

Yoon Bak will play Bin Dae Young, a proud plastic surgeon who likes to show off. Bin Dae Young feels a one-sided rivalry with his wildly successful former college classmate Yeo Jung Woo, but he also understands him better than anyone.
