Cho Seung Woo and Bae Doo Na's drama "Stranger" to reportedly have a season 3!

tvN's hit series "Stranger" will reportedly have its third season.

On October 25th, media outlet OSEN shared that the production team of the drama "Stranger" is planning to create a season three. According to reports, the third season will be a spin-off version and will tell new stories. It is expected to premiere at the end of 2023. 

"Stranger" is a drama that revolves around prosecutor Hwang Si Mok and detective Han Yeo Jin that chases the truth of the concealed incidents. The first and second seasons were both hits and got good reviews from viewers. Many are hopeful for the "Stranger" team to work together again for a new season. 

The first season aired in 2017 and the second season premiered in 2020.

An official from the production team at Ace Factory responded to the reports and clarified, "There's no official confirmation yet on the making of season three. We are currently in discussion for various possibilities."

The first and second season of "Stranger" was led by Cho Seung Woo, Bae Doo Na, Lee Joon Hyuk, and Yoon Se Ah.

 

 

If the production of the drama is confirmed and Cho Seung Woo also returns, this will be his second drama for 2023. The actor will star in the upcoming drama "Sacred Divorce" with Han Hye Jin, Kim Sung Kyun, and Jung Moon Sung. Cho Seung Woo rested for 2022 and didn't appear in any dramas or movies. He was last seen in the 2021 series "Sisyphus: The Myth." 

Same with Bae Doo Na, this drama will possibly be her second upcoming drama for 2023. She is also set to lead the upcoming drama "The Killer Miss Lee." The actress will also lead the upcoming thriller mystery romance film "Virus" with Kim Yoon Seok, Moon Sun Yong, Son Seok Koo, Kwak Jin, and Kim Kyung Il.

A K-drama spin-off of "Stranger" will be led by Lee Joon Hyuk!

Lee Joon Hyuk will continue to portray the life of Seo Dong Jae from the hit K-drama "Stranger."

On February 9, industry insiders revealed that the hit tvN K-drama "Stranger" will be having a spin-off K-drama. This time, the story of the supporting role of Seo Dong Jae will be unveiled. Lee Joon Hyuk portrayed the role in the past two seasons of "Stranger" and reports stated that the actor will return and be the main lead of the upcoming spin-off. 

Lee Joon Hyuk's side then responded to the reports. According to Ace Factory, Lee Joon Hyuk is confirmed to star in the upcoming spin-off of "Stranger." They also revealed that he will be working again with writer Lee Soo Yeon. 

The spin-off of "Stranger" will reportedly be titled "Good or Bad Dong Jae." 

Lee Joon Hyuk is a prosecutor in the "Stranger" series. He confronted the main lead Hwang Si Mok played by Cho Seung Woo. In the series, he was neither the villain nor the good friend of the main lead. Many are anticipating how the spin-off will showcase if Seo Dong Jae is good or bad. 

 

"Good or Bad Dong Jae (working title)" will begin filming in May. There are no official details yet on the release date and the actors that will be working with Lee Joon Hyuk in the K-drama. 

 

 

This will be the second K-drama of Lee Joon Hyuk for the year. The actor will also star in the upcoming Hulu original K-drama "Vigilante" with Nam Joo Hyuk, Yoo Ji Tae, and Kim So Jin. Lee Joon Hyuk will also join the upcoming movies "The Roundup: No Way Out" and "Firemen." 

Lee Joon Hyuk made his acting debut in 2007. He is known for being part of the works "I Saw the Devil," "Along with the Gods 1: The Two Worlds," "No Mercy," "Baseball Girl," "The World That They Live In," "City Hall," "City Hunter," "The Birth of a Married Woman," "A Poem a Day," "Life," "Designated Survivor: 60 Days," "Dark Hole," and more.

Joonhyuk Lee ‘Secret Forest’ spin-off ‘Good or Bad Dongjae’ main character confirmed [Official]

 

 

On February 9, according to the agency Ace Factory, Lee Jun-hyeok was cast in the 'Secret Forest' spin-off.

 

Previously, on December 12 last year, Tving announced the 2023 original content lineup and announced that a 'Secret Forest' spin-off would be produced. 'Secret Forest' writer Lee Soo-yeon participates as a creator, and writers Kim Sang-won and Hwang Ha-jeong write. Directed by Jin Chang-kyu.

 

'Secret Forest' is a chase drama about prosecutor Hwang Si-mok (Cho Seung-woo) and detective Han Yeo-jin (Bae Doona) uncovering the truth behind hidden cases. Season 1 (script Lee Soo-yeon/director Ahn Gil-ho) and season 2 (script Lee Soo-yeon/director Park Hyeon-seok) aired in 2017 and 2020, respectively, and were successful.

 

In Season 1 and Season 2 of 'Secret Forest', Lee Joon-hyeok played Seo Dong-jae, a prosecutor, and performed well. In Season 2, he played an active part as a prosecutor belonging to the Uijeongbu District Prosecutor's Office's Detective Division 1, who dreams of being promoted to department head, with each other as the investigation commander of the Namyangju Police Station.

 

Lee Joon-hyeok is a mean villain, but he was loved by viewers for his unique charm Seo Dong-jae, who can never be hated. Expectations are focused on what kind of story will be unfolded in the spin-off, which has become the main character.

I expected to see the news about the Secret Forest 3. I knew it will be a spin off and I am glad that we`ll see the story of Dong Jae, to understand him better.  I am looking forward to see  this drama and i hope we`ll see some cameos from the characters of the first seasons.

tvN’s “Forest of Secrets” (also known as “Stranger”) is getting a spin-off series focused on Lee Joon Hyuk’s character Seo Dong Jae!

After two seasons of “Forest of Secrets,” the hit tvN drama is returning with a spin-off series titled “Good or Bad Dong Jae” (literal title). On February 9, production company Studio Dragon confirmed to dongA.com, “Writer Lee Soo Yeon, who wrote the ‘Forest of Secrets’ series, will participate as a creator for ‘Good or Bad Dong Jae.’ As the main character, actor Lee Joon Hyuk has been cast and his appearance has been confirmed. The [broadcast] platform has not been decided.”

“Forest of Secrets” first aired in 2017 and told the story of an emotionless prosecutor named Hwang Si Mok (Cho Seung Woo) and a warm-hearted police officer named Han Yeo Jin (Bae Doona) who join forces to solve hidden mysteries and investigate corruption. In 2020, the show returned with a second season where Hwang Si Mok and Han Yeo Jin reunited after two years under different circumstances, with the pair on opposite sides of a tense situation involving the police and the prosecutor’s office.

Lee Joon Hyuk starred in both seasons as Seo Dong Jae, a corrupt prosecutor. In this role, the actor earned lots of praise and was applauded for his ability to play an unlikeable character that viewers were still able to understand. Now, the actor will reprise his role in the upcoming spin-off that focuses on Seo Dong Jae’s character.

• Expanding on the Forest of Secrets universe, a new spin-off called Good or Bad Dong-jae is in the works with Lee Jun-hyuk’s (Dark Hole) Seo Dong-jae as the central character. Production is still in the planning stages with PD Jin Chang-kyu (Military Prosecutor Doberman) attached to direct, and scripts co-written by Kim Sang-won and Hwang Ha-jung. The original series writer Lee Soo-yeon (Grid) will be assuming a creative role. [News1]
