Yes I notice that since he was back from Cebu, he just wanted to be off fame, even he used the VIP exit when arrived in SK from Cebu. Plus he is giving up travelling via Subway. I heard his driving skill is not great so he can start to drive slowly first and then he will be ok picking up YJ from school and date in the car...lol it is the safest way!...*sorry my delulu mind.

I think he just started to realise how famous he is now and a bit shock with fans in Cebu trying to follow him every where, its a too much I think. I prefer him to have holiday anywhere not Asia, or small island far away from fans so no one disturbing him, hope he goes to the beach with YJ again somewhere sometimes in the future, and no fan can follow them to take photos which they they can enjoy their activities together like diving, swimming, eating etc....**my delulu mind is working again. 

btw, their schedules match so well, BG is coming back to SK and YJ just finished her photoshoot in Saipan. His flight is 12-13 hrs and her flight is 4-5 hrs. They may arrive at the airport the same time, who knows. :-)

I will let @Phuong Dinh do all the fanfic as he/she is very good at it. I enjoy readying than writing...so waiting for more chapters from Phoung Dinh. I hope its not just me being in delulu mode here as there is no news from our OTP so we have to use our imagination...lol

Guys, in the main thread our talented friend,  @bookworm77 also made a fanfic for epi 19 to next. Seems like sequel of LeeYoung and Raon in the palace, and many love this story, May I share it here if you are interested  EPISODE 19-20

FANFICTION: EPISODE 19 - ALL IN A DAY

 CHUSEOK

Today Jeonha woke up especially early with the giddy excitement that he would spend the entire day with his lovely Raon.  His lips automatically curved into the widest smile as he rolled from side to side.  His mind suddenly was filled with flashbacks from a year ago on the day of Chuseok.  He had given Raon permission to go to the lantern festival because he couldn’t resist the eagerness in her eyes when she asked him for a vacation.  Then he remembered that night as he was alone looking at the full moon but with a heart that never felt emptier, he made up his mind in going to search for her—or rather he went after the eunuch Hong Sam Nom.  He shook his head still in disbelief as he muttered, “How could I not know then?”

He remembered observing Sam Nom from afar with his eyes scanning the crowd as if he were looking for someone.  When his eyes started to fill up, suddenly Jeonha remembered Sam Nom’s delirious dream earlier about losing his mother, and it dawned on him that the babo Sam Nom wanted to go to the lantern festival to look for his mother—after these many years.  He remembered how he’d placed his hand over his chest to calm the unusual beats of his heart as he marched towards her.  Right at this moment, Jeonha found his hand automatically went up to his chest to calm the unusual beats of his heart, which happened every single time he thought of her.  It actually hurt as to how much one could love a person—his person.

-          Jeonha, did you wake up?

-          Come in!

Eunuch Jang was a bit taken back at Jeonha’s answer at his first attempt to wake him up.  Old habits tend to die hard, and it was their morning routine for Eunuch Jang to ask at least three times (since after the ordination) then Jeonha would clear his throat and allow him to come in.  Eunuch Jang was by himself this morning at Jeonha’s specific order to bring his traveling clothes for he had plan to go out today—incognito and alone.  After helping His Majesty all dressed, Eunuch Jang called for breakfast.  Eunuch Jang barely settled outside the doors when they were flung open again, His Majesty just inhaled his breakfast and was ready to leave.  Eunuch Jang knew His Majesty could not wait to go see a certain bookstore owner; however, he could not resist the urge to tease a bit.

-          Jeonhaaaaaaaaaaa…

-          “Chief eunuch Jang, I DID eat breakfast...” He started before Eunuch Jang could begin with his nagging.

-          Ye Jeonha.  I was just thinking though that you’d worked too hard the last few days, shouldn’t it more relaxing for you to relax in the garden with a few good books today?

His Majesty’s eyes narrowed at him with such sharpness that he felt the hair of his neck stood up.  Eunuch Jang went in for the final blow.

-          Jeonha, with your magnanimous heart, you let all the officials have today off so they could spend time with their families, I already asked the princesses to come and spend their time with you today…

-          EUNUCH JANG!

-          Ye Jeonha?

-          FACE THE WALL!!! Do not turn around!!! And NOT ANOTHER SOUND FROM YOU!!!

As Jeonha walked quickly away, Eunuch Jang’s shoulders started to shake with uncontrollable laughter.

            There was such lightness in Jeonha’s heart as well as footsteps as he found himself on a very familiar path towards the bookstore.  The sunlight beamed brightly on this beautiful autumn morning.  The leaves were just on the verge of changing colors while still hanging on to its greenness.  He enjoyed watching his people exchanged pleasantries in the market place.  Somehow there were more colors, commotion as well as excitement in the air because of Chuseok.  He tried to picture Raon’s startled face when she would get to see him at this time of the day for his mornings were normally spent on court businesses.  In his mind he already went through different ways to surprise her with his entrance.  He sped up his steps and got to a building with the sign in front, “RAON’S BOOKSTORE” and underneath it, another sign, “Closed for the day.”

            Could she be going to the palace to see him today and they missed seeing each other along the way?  That could be a possibility as Jeonha thought about the reasons why Raon closed her shop.  She could possibly be sick and stayed at home? Or maybe Raon’s parents wanted her to stay home for Chuseok?  Maybe he should head to her place?  Maybe he should ask the shop neighbors to see if they knew the reason.  Once decided he walked over to a group of adjummas who were happily chatting nearby.  He was sure that they wouldn’t recognize him as their King because he liked to keep his identity hidden for purposes of surveying his people incognito to get the real picture of his kingdom.  Besides he only visited Raon late in the afternoon when most people already left for home.

-          Excuse me, adjummas, may I ask why does Raon’s Bookstore not open today?

The ladies were startled by a very beautiful young man, and they could not help but openly stared at him for a full minute before one of them spoke up. 

-          Ayyyyy, she already left for the day…

-          “Was she sick?” He inquired.

-          “Ye… lovesick… I would say…”  Another ajumma replied while the rest started to giggle together. 

-         " Are you one of her many admirers?"  Another asked.

-          Aiiii… I don’t blame you to loving uri Raonie… for in this kingdom, I don’t think there is another agasshi who would equal in her beauty…

-          Aiii…. And the number of young men who are her admirers are as long as from this place to the palace itself…

Jeonha heard a “thunk” as his heart dropped down to his stomach as he listened to the continuous chatter and laughter of the adjummas who were more than happy to give him more answers than he wanted to know.

-          This morning I saw a very handsome young man showed up as soon as Raon opened her shop and he brought her the most beautiful gift box that I’ve ever seen.

-          Did you get a chance to see what was inside?

-          Of course… I was thinking whatever was in that box must be so much more beautiful than the box itself.

-          What was it then?  Please do tell…

-          Can you all guess what it was in the box?

-          Aiiiiiii… don’t take advantage of people now… do tell us hurry up…

-          At first Raon refused to take the box as she pushed it away… however… when the young man said a few words… I couldn’t hear very well because I was far away…

The adjumma gave a pregnant pause for effect then smiled and went on…

-          She opened the box right there… and inside was the most beautiful dress…  then Raon’s eyes started to tear up… well... I bet they were tears of happiness… then the two of them left together…

-          Aiiiii I’m happy that Raon finally found her match…

-          I tell you… it’s a match made in heaven… the two of them are so beautiful together.  I’d say I haven’t seen a couple who’s more compatible…

Jeonha walked away for he had heard more than enough.  He didn’t know how long he started to aimlessly wander the streets hoping somehow he would run into her to ask for her version of the story.  Suddenly he was taken over by the exhaustion of the past few days for working nonstop and almost through the nights so that he could have a whole day today to spend with her.  The sun rose so high now that the heat began to seep through his clothes.  Both his heart and his feet became so heavy and he suddenly felt clammy and lightheaded.  Before his body hit the ground, a pair of arms reached out to steady him.  The last thing Jeonha saw were the concerned eyes of his trusted friend a bodyguard, Kim Byung-yeon.

By the time Jeonha opened his eyes again, he was greeted with his court physician. 

-          Your Majesty… 

-          What happened to me?

-          Jeonha, you passed out earlier and thank goodness Chief Kim was there to bring you back.  You had a little heatstroke combined with exhaustion, lack of sleep and not enough nutrition…

-          “Jeonha, you must take care of your precious self.”  Eunuch Jang cried in anguish as he realized it was his failing for not taking good care of His Majesty.

-          Now I will prescribe special herbs that will help you to recover strength… and for today just food and sleep should take care of the problem.

Jeonha closed his eyes again and quietly told everyone to get out.  “I will be fine as long as I rest right?”

-          Jeonhaaaaaaaaaa ….

-          Jeonhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…

-          Everyone, OUT! This is an order.

Jeonha sat up and for a moment was so tempted to order the palace troops to bring Raon to him even if they had to turn the kingdom upside down.  His hand again went to his chest to calm the unusual heartbeats as they cried out, “Raon-ah… Raon-ah…”  Being the most powerful man of the entire kingdom yet he never felt more helpless.  He tried to remember since when he’d always felt this way when it came to this person.  Between his dreaming and waking moments, he remembered her leaving him.  She didn’t stop his hands when he cut the destiny bracelet.  She kept on walking away as he shouted out, “please stay by my side, Raon-ah.  RAON-AHhhhhhh”

            Jeonha woke up again to his own voice calling her name.  Suddenly he felt determined to do something selfish, and he didn’t care if it was selfish.  As soon as he made up his mind, Jeonha felt a surge of strength passing through him.  He walked over to his desk, sat down and took out a scroll and started writing furiously.

-          Jeonha, are you awake?

-          Come in!

Eunuch Jang was taken back for the second time in the same day for he was afraid His Majesty was still upset and wouldn’t want to be disturbed.  Eunuch Jang entered with the palace maids to light the candles in the room for it was getting dark.  A couple of maids also carried Jeonha’s attires.  Eunuch Jang’s goal now was how to get Jeonha out of this room to attend a special Chuseok event that was planned just for him.

-          Jeonha… I know you must be very tired but it’s Chuseok and the Chief of Culture had organized an outdoor banquet tonight to celebrate with the entire royal family.  It would mean a lot to the princesses if you could be there.

Eunuch Jang knew that Jeonha loved his family dearly especially his beloved sisters and would never refuse them anything.  Eunuch Jang saw a look of resign on Jeonha’s face before he decided to deliver his final blow.

-          We will have our own lantern festival and entertainment, and I heard the Office of Culture had invited the same group of dancers from last year, even the same agasshi who did the solo dance…

Before Eunuch Jang could finish his sentence, Jeonha was already half-dressed and outside the doors.  Eunuch Jang tried hard to stifle his laughter.

            Jeonha rushed towards the courtyard where the banquet would be held.  He saw none of his family members nor court officials but only a few musicians with their instruments.  As soon as he made his appearance, music already drifted his way.  Then out of the corner of his eyes, he saw her again.  It seemed like she just came out of his memory from a year ago—this same dancer who had appeared and disappeared on him in this same place.  Tonight she donned the same dress—a mixture of colors of white and pink and purple.  Joenha did not even dare to blink for even a second being so afraid that she might just be a figment of his imagination as he watched her slowly and gracefully glided across the floor.  She twirled ever so slightly on her feet with such fluid movements.  The music swam around her as she entered into the music as one.  Her playful footsteps in the water made him yearn again for the freedom of childhood—those days of being able to be barefooted in the rain.  Her arms reached for him.  Her eyes beckoned him.  Such familiar eyes.  They reached down to the deepest part of his soul and filled it with such light and warmth and so much joy (raon).  Suddenly his heart was full and he felt it overflowed from his eyes.  Then he remembered it was in this exact moment a year ago that he knew his heart would forever be lost to this cosmos fairy—his cosmos fairy.

Suddenly the music stopped and the dance came to an end.  As soon as Jeonha came out of his daze, he walked over to her and took her hand in his while signaling with his eyes for everyone to be dismissed.  He wasn’t planning to let her escape him EVER. AGAIN now that she herself had set foot in his own home. Besides he had planned to punish her thoroughly for what she put him through all this time.

He let go of her hand and went to sit on the chair reserved for him.  He tried with all his might to show the sternness in his voice.

-          You may sit.

Raon looked around as she wasn’t sure where would be the appropriate place to sit in front of His Majesty.  She eyed the chair at the table next to him.

-          Not there… here…

Jeonha pointed on his lap. 

-          I refuse…

-          It is an order!

-          Again?

-          You will take the punishment then?

Raon laughed as she watched Joenha being his usual bully-self and that meant he must be feeling much better compare to what she’d heard from Eunuch Jang. 

-          I heard you were not feeling well today, Jeonha.

Raon bent over and pressed her forehead against his to test out his body temperature, “You are indeed a little on the warm side,” she whispered softly against his ear.  She sent an army of goosebumps down his spine and he could feel his temperature on the rise.  Before he started to forget that he still needed to punish her, she pulled away from him and went to grab a small package.

-          Joenha, I made this especially for you because I heard you barely ate anything today…

Raon had a container inside with what looked like some thick soup and the aroma made him suddenly famished.

-          “Should I taste it first?” Raon asked with amusement in her voice.

-          Of course…

His Majesty pulled Raon on his lap for he did not like the idea of her being away from him even for just a little bit.  Raon took a spoonful of the porridge in her mouth and before she could swallow to tell him the food was now good to eat, His Majesty already claimed his food right out from her mouth.

-          Did you say you made this?  Hmmm… It was really good.  I want more.

The eagerness on his face and the way Joenha spoke those line with such a serious expression made Raon’s complexion turned nine shades redder than even tomato.  She pushed the spoon into his hand.

-          Joenha, somebody… hmm… might… see…

His Majesty pouted and in a voice so weak said,

-          Thanks to … SOMEONE… I didn’t have any appetite for food today… now it seems like I can’t even hold onto a spoon…

Raon tried not to grin too hard as she took the spoon back and spoon by spoon helped His Majesty with his supper.

-          “I met someone this morning…”  Raon started.

She could feel that Joenha paused in the middle of swallowing his food.

-          He brought me something special from a friend…

Raon put the spoon down.  She circled her arms around Joenha and put her head on his shoulder as she continued,

-          Joenha, you remember last year when you were looking for me after the dance?  It was Kim Yoon-Sung naori who helped me escape.  Then he held on to this dress for me.  He’d asked a friend to give it back to me if something were to happen to him.  His friend just came back to town after some travelling, and he stopped by my shop to deliver it.  We went to naori’s gravesite together afterwards to pay him respect…

Raon waited and she did not hear anything from Joenha for a long time. 

-          Joenha… are you still very upset at your Raonie?

-          I don’t like it… that you would spend time with ANYONE… that you would look at ANYONE…

-          Joenha, I thought you’d only have time for me in the evening so I already planned for us to spend Chuseok together… Do you remember what I told you? That I wouldn’t forget any song or dance even if I saw it once… how did I do tonight?

His Majestly looked deeply into Raon’s eyes then he put his head on her shoulder.

-          Raon-ah…

-          Ye… Joenha?

-          You are so beautiful that it hurts every time I look at you… and every time I thought I lost you again… I thought my heart would stop beating… would should I do?

-          Joenha…

Raon’s arms tightened around the man in front of her.  She had indeed given him some deep wounds that could not be healed easily.  She could not turn back time to undo any of that; however, from now on, she wanted their love to not have any more regrets.

-          Joenha… I sold the bookshop already and now I might need to find another job… do you think you might have anything for me to do in this big palace?

It took His Majesty a moment to register what Raon was saying to him, and after a short pause, his face broke into the widest grin.

-          I do… I do… there’s a position that’s still wide open… to be the queen on this nation… my queen.  Will you?

-          “Joenha, it’s Chuseok, shall we make a wish for this year as well?  It’s almost time to release the lanterns… I brought one for us as well…”

-          “Raon-ahhhhhhhhh…”

Before His Majesty finished his objection, Raon was already halfway across the courtyard to get the lantern leaving his question unanswered.  Lee Yeong watched his beloved walking away, and he couldn’t help the tinge of sadness that started to creep around his heart.  He acknowledged that he must have become greedier the longer he spent his time away from her.  He admitted that he still hadn’t changed much since the last time he boldly declared to her that he shall always ask for more because “when you are in love, you naturally become greedy.” (ep11)

This past year he had tried really hard to be patient and not to rush anything with Raon.  Although he desired more than anything to have her by his side, he also knew what Raon needed most was the space to live truly and freely as a woman for the first time in her life.  It was also his wish that Raon would be able to do everything her heart desired.  It was just that tonight he thought Raon was giving him the go-ahead signal that she was ready to start their life together.

-          Joenha, palli palli… I’m done writing down my wish already…

As Lee Yeong headed over to where she was standing with an already lit lantern, he worked up a brave smile trying not to spoil her cheerful mood. 

-          Joenha, let’s count one, two, three and we’ll let it go together… ready?

-          One, two, three…

They both let it go.  The blue lantern carried Raon’s wish higher and higher.  Then he saw what was written on it,

“Joenha, it is my wish too that your wish would come true ~ Raonie.”

For a long moment, His Majesty just stood there until the meaning of her words resonated deeply in his heart and his throat started to clog up with untold emotions.  Then he suddenly was enveloped by a pair of small arms from behind.  In this quiet night, the two of them stood there together with fingers intertwined, with the same thought crossed both minds—I’m home.

It was Raon who spoke first,

-          Joenha, it’s getting late… Abeoji and eomeoni would be worried if I don’t get back.  Maybe uri Kim hyung can walk me back…

-          I do not give permission for “uri Kim hyung” to do such a thing…

-          But you can’t go out when it’s this late already… I’ll be fine…

-          As you said, it’s already this late.  I’ll send a messenger to let abeoji and eomeoni know that you wish to spend the night with Princess Myung Eun, does that sound good?

Raon gave it a thought and decided it was best because for she didn’t want to worry His Majesty further although she couldn’t help teasing him a bit.

-          But I don’t want to bother Princess-mama… maybe I could stay in my own room in Jahyeondang like before with uri Kim hyung.

In split seconds before she could finish her sentence, Joenha’s eyes turned hardened.  He lowered his body so that they could be eye to eye he spoke each word slowly, “You also stayed overnight in Dongungjeon before, how about spending the night there tonight?”

Raon was grateful that it was dark so His Majesty could not see well the heat that started to creep up from her neck to the very roots of her hair.  “Bully,” she muttered under her breath.

-          Was that a yes?

-          Of course not!

Raon protested as she heard him having a hearty laugh to himself and she also joined him.  Lee Yeong took her hand in his and they walked under the full moon—the one and only faithful witness of their unchanging love.  They walked on a path that Raon did not recognize before.

-          Where are we going?

-          To your place.

Raon is now thoroughly confused.

-          My place?  But Jahyeondang is in the opposite direction.

-          Let’s burn Jahyeondang down tomorrow and build something new there.

-          Joenhaaaaaaaaa!

-          It is a joke.  We’re almost there.

From afar Raon spotted a well-lit living quarter that looked brand new.  Lee Yeong sped up his steps pulling her faster along.  Now they both stopped right in front of the big sign hanging by the front doors, “RAON’S RESIDENCE.”

-          Aren’t you going to invite your guest in for a moment?

Lee Yeong spoke up bringing Raon out of her frozen state. 

-          I … hmm… hmmm…

Besides clearing her throat continuously, she did not know what to say.  Then she turned and faced His Majesty,

-          When did you…?

-          When you left the palace.  I’m just hoping that if you like someone in the palace, it would become a worthy place for you to live.

Raon was again rendered speechless.

-          It’s late.  You should go to bed and explore it to your heart’s content tomorrow morning while I’ll be busy in court.  You can tell me your thoughts at lunch.  I want us to eat together.  Just make notes of all the changes you would like to make and we’ll have that taken care of as soon as possible.

By then the maids already spotted His Majesty and they all came out to greet him.

-          Joenha, Lady Raon.

-          They will help you to settle in for the night.  I’ll see you tomorrow.

Lee Yeong started to walk away when Raon remembered she almost forgot to hand him her gift for Chuseok.  She took a small package from her side pocket and quickly put it in his hand.  Then she quickly followed the maids inside.

Raon took a quick look around the place.  It was just too surreal to think that this place was actually hers, and it was built particularly with her in mind and even within the palace itself.    

-          My lady, the bedroom is this way.

-          May I ask how do you know that my name is Raon?  I don’t remember we’ve met.

-          His Majesty already forbade anyone to enter here besides us twelve who are assigned to take care of this place.  He never brought anyone here even the Princesses whom he loves dearly.  His Majesty said that he’ll bring Lady Raon home in the near future.

As Raon was lying in bed going over everything that went on tonight, she thought perhaps in the morning, she might discover that it was all in her dreams.

After Lee Yeong left Raon’s Residence, with the spring in his footsteps he quickly walked towards Dongungjeon, which he still kept as his own residence since he didn’t want his father to move to a different place.  Besides he grew up in Dongungjeon and this is where he’s most comfortable with after all.  Eunuch was waiting for him as expected.

-          Joenha, how was your evening?

His Majesty watched his trusted eunuch trying hard not to grin from ear to ear, and he burst out laughing.

-          Everything was beautiful.

-          Are you talking about a particular lady by any chance?

-          That lady is your very-soon-to-be queen…

-          CONGRATULATIONS Joenha…

Eunuch Jang cried out as he looked at His Majesty’s mouth already curved into a permanent crescent shape.  He could feel tears rose up in his eyes and spilled downward his cheeks.  He had to remember to thank eunuch Hong… ah… Lady Hong Raon tomorrow for making Joenha this happy. 

After Lee Yeong settled comfortably in bed, he took out the small package from Raon earlier.  It was wrapped carefully in a pink cloth and inside he discovered a white handkerchief and a letter addressed to him.  He inhaled deeply Raon’s sweet fragrance from the handkerchief, and it felt like she was right in the room with him.  By the dim light from the candles near his bedside, he saw a white egret with different shades of green leaves so delicately embroidered next to his name—Lee Yeong—in the middle of the handkerchief.  He slowly unfolded the letter,

“Dear Joenha,

While we were apart, every day, stitch by stich, I wanted to let you know that “I miss you even in my dreams”~~from Raonie.”

Lee Yeong hugged the handkerchief closed to his heart.  He closed his eyes and they were already filled as happiness poured down his cheeks.

-          Joenha, are you awake yet?

Morning came so quickly as Lee Yeong already heard Eunuch Jang’s voice outside his doors.  Another day to spend in court.  He rolled over to the side and tried to savor a little more the sweet dreams of last night with Raon everywhere in them.

-          Give me fifteen more minutes.

-          Ye Joenha.

Suddenly he heard Eunuch Jang’s voice raised a notch or two higher,

-          Eunuch Hong, you heard Joenha right?  You should go and I’ll just wait here and dress Joenha myself.

From outside the doors, both Eunuch Jang and Eunuch Hong clearly heard a very loud thud as if someone just hit the floor hard and a voice shouted out,

-          Ouch… Come in, I’m awake already…

Eunuch Jang waited for Eunuch Hong to go in with Joenha’s attires and closed the doors behind them before giving into his fit of silent laughter—his sides even hurt from holding it too long.

-          Good morning Joenha.

-          Raon-ah… good morning…

-          Joenha, did you sleep well?

-          I missed you in my dreams last night too…

Lee Yeong whispered sleepily in her ear while stretching out his arms for Raon put the belt around him, his arms then came down quickly and enveloped her in a tight embrace.  His face inched closer and he planted a kiss on her lips as if it were the most natural thing in the world to do.  Raon buried her flushed face against the steady rhythm of his heartbeats. 

-          “Thank you, Raon-ah…”  Jeonha’s arms tightened and he nuzzled like a puppy against her neck, which made her all ticklish.  Raon cleared her throat to remind him in a scolding voice,

 

-          Joenha, you’ll be late if we don’t hurry…

-          I’m the king…

-          That’s why you can’t be late.

His Majesty pouted.

-          I suppose even kings must listen to their wives, alright then.

When Eunuch Jang looked for them a half hour later for breakfast, and they were still too busy making moony eyes at each other.  After breakfast, Raon was instructed by His Majesty to wait for him to go see abeoji and eomeoni together because “I want to personally ask their permission for their precious daughter’s hand in marriage,” he said.

Raon went back to Raon’s Residence to really tour the place… her place in the daylight.  It was built in a square structure with four units enclosed the most beautiful garden/courtyard in the middle.  One unit was her bedroom which she stayed in last night.  Next to it was a library full of books and many of them were hers.  The unit next to the library and toward the front was the room for her to receive visitors, the head maid explained, and next to it was an empty room that she wasn’t told what it was for.  There was nothing that Raon really wanted to change about the place because it was simply perfect.  Raon spent the morning in the garden enjoying the beautiful flowers and reading until she was interrupted by the head maid,

-          Lady Raon, Eunuch Jang is here asking to see you.

-          Invite him in please.

When Raon came in the visiting room, Eunuch Jang was beaming at her by the doors.

-          Congratulations, Mama…

Mama?  Raon looked around, was Eunuch Jang talking to her?  But there was no one else around.  Congratulations?  For what?  Eunuch Jang clearly saw the puzzlement on her face and he tried to be helpful in explaining,

-          Your upcoming marriage to Joehna in two weeks…

-          Two weeks?

-          Ye… Mama… Joehna announced the good news first thing at court today.  The Chief of Culture was already put in charge of the wedding preparation.  He asked for a month but Joehna gave only two weeks and even threatened to elope if the preparation were not done on time.

Eunuch Jang gave a throaty laugh before he continued,

-          “Right now the palace is stewed in rumors that…”  Eunuch Jang looked around to see if there were anyone else in the room before he leaned over and whispered in her ear, “that… the reason for the rushed wedding is because there’s a baby that is already on the way…”

Raon just gaped at him the most unladylike manner, and she thought Eunuch Jang was enjoying himself way too much.

-          Mama, His Majesty will be here shortly and he asked to have lunch served here.  I’ll go finish the preparation.

With that Eunuch Jang disappeared leaving Raon in a state of complete bewilderment.  That was how His Majesty found her fifteen minutes later.  She took a look at him and turned away so fast but not before he caught a glimpse of her flushed face. 

-          Raon-ah, what’s wrong?  Are you not feeling well?

-          No… not at all…

-          You don’t look well… shall I summon the court physician?

Right at this moment Raon could really picture the WORST in her mind, and now if a court physician were to come to her place, how could she ever defend her innocence and honor?

-          Joehna… I really don’t need a physician… it’s just that… I heard that… our wedding will take place in just… two weeks and I guess it’s just too soon… I’m not ready…

-          Raon-ah… leave the preparation to me… don’t worry… you just need to show up and look pretty that day…

His Majesty gave her his brightest grin like he was quite proud of his accomplishment.

-          “Besides…”  Joehna continued, “We have to hurry up with our wedding because I heard that there’s … a baby coming…”

He then burst out laughing.  Raon looked at him in total disbelief,

-          Are you having fun?

-          “I’m sorry Raon-ah,” Lee Yeong stopped his smile and continued, “but how I really wish that the rumor would be… true.”

-          Joehnaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Lee Yeong tried to change the topic, “Do you like it here? Are there any changes you would like to make?”  Raon smiled prettily at her king.

-          Thank you, Joehna.  I love everything about it.  But I have a question… there’s an empty room which nobody knew what’s for… what’s that room?

Joehna cleared his throat.

-          I think you must be hungry too.  Let’s go eat.

-          Joehna?

Raon wasn’t about to let go of this topic.

-          “Nursery.  Eunuch Jangggggggggggggggg….” He quickly continued, “Is everything ready?”

“Nursery?  As in a place for … for… did I hear it right?” Raon pondered to herself, but before she came to her senses, Joehna already pulled to out of the room and headed for lunch.

After lunch while Joehna went to change his attire Raon received a visit from the Chief of Culture asking her to be ready on the morrow to begin the ceremonial practice for the wedding.  Raon replied she’d back to the palace one week later and booked no further objection on the matter.  She just wanted to spend these last few days with her parents before she could no longer be just their little Raonie.  When His Majesty came back, she immediately informed him of her decision.

-          One. Whole. Week?  I do not give permission.  Will you come back in three days?

Raon was about to explain her reason further when His Majesty dejectedly continued,

-          When someone left me before, I couldn’t eat.  I couldn’t sleep. I was sick.  I was poisoned. I was in a lottttttttttttttttt of pain…

-          Ye Joehna, three days.

His Majesty then beamed so happily at her.  Raon knew she was lost.  Since long ago she had lost to this man both her heart and her willpower to say no to anything.
