Kim Rae Won and Park Shin Hye Lead the Script Reading for SBS Drama Doctors

I never thought I’d see Park Shin Hye in a doctor genre drama, and conversely I’ve wondered why Kim Rae Won hasn’t done one yet since all his generational male colleagues have wielded the scalpel already. Filming started on upcoming SBS Mon-Tues drama Doctors (formerly Female Gangster Hye Jung) last week and now the production has released the script reading stills that showcase the entire cast gathered together to run through lines.

Park Shin Hye looks so beaming and happy, I hope her character is a fun stretch for her to play and challenges her to keep expanding her craft. Kim Rae Won is handsomely focused and I’m looking forward to him playing the senior doctor mentor and love interest for Park Shin Hye. Rounding out the cast is Lee Sung Kyung as Park Shin Hye’s rival doctor and Yoon Kyun Sang as a chaebol heir doctor who falls for the female lead, along with young cutie pies Ji Sooand Kim Min Suk. Doctors premieres on June 20th following the conclusion of Jackpot (The Royal Gambler).

Kim Rae-won and Park Shin-hye and other "Doctors" cast had their first script reading seeion recently.

Kim Rae-won has been cast for his role as Hong Ji-hong, a former high school teacher who become a neurosurgery specialist later on. Unlike his dissembling appearance, he is hiding sadness as he had to leave hospital because he failed to save a patient's life.

Park Shin-hye transformed into a completely different image. She brought the tough and rebellious character, Hye-jeong to life smoothly.

An associate with the production team said, "Kim Rae-won expressed the complicate inner side of his character abundantly just by reading his lines" and "Park Shin-hye also impressed everybody with her unconstrained acting".

Yoon Gyoon-sang and Lee Seong-kyeongwere also a great addition to bring more energy to the drama. The middle-aged veteran actors Kim Yeong-ae, Lee Ho-jae, Jeong Hae-gyoon and others will solidify the base for the drama.

"Doctors" will premiere on June 20th.

Wow another spunk in the cast of Doctors. Im getting more excited now. Im truly getting blessed hehehe! this drama is going to be like my belated bday gift with lots of surprises ahead leading up to its premier.

In updating the news ... Baek Sunghyn will play a second year trained neurosurgeon whom is a dear friend and relationship advisor for Lee Sung-Kyung's character. He will portray an optimist character. He also said that he always wanted to play a doctor like role hence why he joined this drama. Good choice Baek Sunghyn

Park Shin-hye attends script-reading for ‘Doctors’

The series premiere for actress Park Shin-hye’s forthcoming drama, “Doctors” is coming soon and the cast and crew gathered for a script-reading session Thursday, according to a spokesperson of satellite network SBS.

In the much anticipated drama, actor Kim Rae-won will star opposite Park as a nonchalant neurosurgeon with a tragic past. Park will play a rebellious doctor with a reckless personality. “Cheese in the Trap” actress Lee Sung-kyung has joined the cast in a supporting role.

“Doctors” will portray the love between Park Shin-hye and Kim Rae-won’s characters and how Park evolves into a true doctor.

“Doctors” is scheduled to air every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. from June 20 -- replacing “Jackpot.”

wow another casting addition news...wow wow wow...baek sunghyun join this drama too...isnt it like a dream team in a drama???so many star.....if SFD is dream team in saeguk drama, doctors is a dream team in medical dramas...really it get me more exicted...

huwaaaaaa.....the more i see PSH in hyejung style the more it get interesting..like i cant wait longer to see her transformation as badass gangster hyejung...hahahahahaha...some of picture even told me like she is ready to diss and curse all ppl that will disturb her and meddle her way like a gangster style would be..hahahahahaha...so cool...even the picture already speak like that to me, i wonder how the acting would be later...so exicted to see you hyejung!!!!! and i just realized that his style really boyish compare to her two friends, i love how they show it with the friend use skirt while she only use jeans...wow...where am i going???why i dont see it the first time i saw the pic??? and LSK, cant wait to see her transformation too i still remember her as baek in ha..the hilarious ad crazy

ah KRW havent finished his movie filming yet....thanks god this drama start filming earlier and this make the schedule filming more flexible for the certain actors like KRW that still must filming his movie or jisoo that must filming another his sbs drama...wow this noona eyes must be thankful to him, because i can see him back to back in SBS mon-tue drama..hahahaha...after the doctors ended his another drama will be following up drama...yes yes yes jisoo yaaaa....this noona so exicted for you too!!!!!!

and yes i found the script reading pic in twitter two or three days ago...wow i saw the filming pic earlier than the script reading pics..
and yeah same like a few of you that looking for jisoo pic in script reading, and found nothing!!! its okay..i already know his part maybe not as many as another lead but like i said before, his role will be important to hyejung life in this drama..and come on the script reading pic like what sbs released is more a teasing pic to us the viewers. i will give you this only, so you must be happy and thankful,dont demand more...that what sbs said maybe..a script reading pic usually cant show up all the cast...unless sbs did like tvn that give us
the video of script reading so we will know who artist that attend it and yeah even cameo in the earlier episode of drama come to script reading  in that tvn drama too.. seeing this makes me agree with comment that i read a few days ago, that said SBS did a poor job yo promote this drama, even PSH did it better...hahahaha....yeah that really big 3 TV style to promote their drama (like said, without we promote it too much, viewers will watch it in the end, not like cable TV that must have a lot effort to promote their dramas...ckckckckck)

According to a weibo post, KRW will finish his movie filming on May 23.

So he has a month before the broadcast... So right now he might not have a lot of filming compared to the cast.

the splurge of pictures and drama filming videos have really made me greedy for more and like @thao_2512 mentioned or pleaded ?  from SBS (and prayed) for a photoshoot between KRW and Shinhye too. I second that wholeheartedly too ....for the health and happiness of all 

meanwhile lets make do with creative works by fans............and....the following statement by production team associate below...

At the risk of repeating myself....KRW and Shinhye both have very expressive eyes so combined with "expressive reading of lines" and "unconstained acting"....we are in for some memorable scenes of them together.

BSH's ( Shinhye's first lead ) addition was a pleasant news indeed. It is nostalgic and made me go through their clips and videos from STH too. How the time flies! ....that is good because we need it to do just that as we wait for 20th June.

Tragic history known so far ...in the lives of the main leads in "Doctors" (Plz Plz change the name) 

 

1: Hong Ji Hong.....HJH....(KRW)

He lost his family at a young age.

He lost a patient in the beginning of his medical internship.

 

2: Yoo Hye-Jung....YHJ....(PSH)

Suffered from childhood abuses from father....not known what kind.

Growing up without mother

Carries scars from her youth.

Big emotional impact from something bad linked with her first crush Soo Chul.

 

These are important because this is the base from where ......the story shapes up......

I love this story because it tells the struggles of two individuals who despite having set backs went on to become not only successful but better and stronger human beings. It's always inspiring to know and see such characters who are inspiring when they don't give up. The synopsis is very promising! What remains to be seen is how well they execute it on screen.

 

PS: why are there 2 forums for this drama? I landed up there today and for a moment thought we had lost 22 pages somehow ......Can anyone throw light on this and someone resolve this too? Thanks!

I found strange to ...we have 2 forums for this.drama..about the tittle, wondering too, ''DOCTOR'S' to general to be the tittle..or because the developing story about doctor? the other reason maybe the writer don't want specify, to burden story on the one shoulder (hye jung), take a risk about the main protagonist name be tittle is favourable when the writer enough confident how good she discripe her carachter, i like 'gangster Hye jung'' or something like''Hye jung story'' ,the other look general but still eye caching is 'The nouresergeon'' little bit akward but easy to saw the differentcy.

  @maris1, @mujay    I just found it too.... and called a moderator @ororomunroe, and asked her to merge the threads.

It is super important that people check the official directory before starting a new thread; And also report to a moderator if they opened a new thread, with a link for it, and ask to have it included in the directory.
