Gyun Woo is always wherever princess is. Even in the preview for next ep when princess is back in the palace, he still come to the palace secretly cos he is worried about the princess who will be sneaking out alone 

just watched ep13-14 with subs, princess is really pitiful huh. Those crazy antics are just her defensive way to hide her pain. I wonder how can she surive evilness from so many sides???  

The current evil Queen hates her because she is jealous of the King's attention on the princess..then the ministerr who wants to het rid of her along with the king....Da Yun who wants to destroy her because of Gyun Woo.  Then those evil minions who tried to kill/frame her... 

From what i see, she is actually a little naive in handling matters while Gyun Woo is always usingg his brain. I hope he can protect her

Woah... Episode 6(12&13) is all serious which I was expecting from the preview of last week. I liked this episode a lot. It looks like this drama has some twist which we didn't expect seeing after how light hearted the previous episodes were. So he won't let her go alone where there is all sorts of danger lurking around Princess..He didn't even ask her for reasons.. He wouldn't share her secrets even with his father..He gave her sincerity without even her asking it..and finally she opened up to him... Totally Love It. ❤ 

It's interesting that King and High Queen(King's Mother) both know how fake Evil Queen is..They can totally see through her. 

And the latest OST used in this episode is really nice..looking forward to its release. 

I wanted to talk more about todays episode but sadly right now I can't.. 

Lastly welcome to the new people in this thread who are recently started enjoying MSG .. Glad to MSG gaining new viewers.. 

 

 

 

 

 

I also really like how sincere Gyun Woo to help and protect the princess. He loves her but does not realize it at all. So cute!

Who is the guy helping them finding Mr.Min in the butcher? He seems knowing the situation. He knows or better said recognized the princess. But I am totally lost on who he is.

I like Lt Kang also. He always protect the princess with his way. Hope he is not rival to Gyun Woo. But if he does, it will be very interesting!

I really love how you described GW's sincerity  Whatever her reason was, he just couldn't let her go alone. I really loved the scene of them under the tree. He told her to assume he isn't there and just cry her heart out. You can see his eyes were teary too seeing how affected the princess was. Loved the portrayal of emotion by Joo Won there! Not outright crying with her but his eyes tell you his heart is pained seeing the princess like that 

That scene where he stopped Princess from rushing to the palace with the letter shows us how worthy he is being the National Treasure. He is calm and composed even in such conspired situation (He only loses his cool when it comes to dealing with the crazy princess lol. Those books he borrowed hoping to tame that woman). I hope to see how he can use his wits and intelligence to stop those snakes. I also want to see how our sassy princess can play an active role in fighting those against her and not just getting locked up waiting for GW to the rescue. 

My heart breaks for Lt Kang in the flashback scene. Min Sabu was an important person to him  But I am glad to know that he will be loyal and protective of the princess till the end. If he could be more expressive, he and princess may be able to save Min Sabu. I'm anticipating some collab between him and GW. Can't wait for tonight's episode!!

To think that before this pair  boarded the love boat which now is setting sail, GW was all prim an proper and just wanted to run away from her cray-cray behaviour.

First crude behaviou r our National Treasur picked up was spitting out chicken feet bones...... Ugh!!!

Then his never ended lectures.

hello, welcome to the thread and to others as well. Yeah, I'm surprised too why it's quiet in here considering that this is a rom-com sageuk k-drama. Actually, like you, I'm not a fan of sageuk drama but since this is a rom-com series and I love rom-coms, so I'm here silently following the series. It's the only series I'm watching at the moment due to work but always excited to see the upcoming episodes because I'm having fun watching it. And I agree with the rest of the ppl here that it's a beautiful series. You see this drama has excellent cinematography, beautiful plot and superb direction and acting from the cast and crew. It's my first time too, to watch a series played by Joo Won and Oh Yeon Seo and I'm glad they were chosen to portray the main lead roles because both are perfect for the role. Acting wise, I see so much comfortability, familiarity and confidence playing their roles as princess and scholar.

On the other hand, honestly, I'm easily fluttered with cheesy romance but felt so fluttered with the scene where Gyun Woo took care of the princess, then fell asleep in a sitting position, swaying, suddenly, woken by her and their eyes locked for a few seconds. That scene made me feel that conservative romance is sweeter than liberal romance. Every time, I see their scene that they are conscious of their feelings for each other (holding hands, eye contact), I get butterfly in my stomach.

Nooooooo. They are threatening the princess with the Prince  This episode is also a heavy one. Only one comical relief scene where GW is eating that smelly fish and thought about the princess. He looks so cute there 

Not many significant turn of events from this episode. That evil minister still has the upper hand on things. Not revealed if Princess and King has a secret plan but HM is definitely not going down without a fight. Though the King now knows that she was looking for her mother all these while.

GW feels so powerless this episode  From the preview, it seems like he will step up his game. But how exactly when the opponent is a Prince from Qing. Afterall, they are not BFFs as I hoped for a plot twist

Hmmmnnnn ..... how much evil are they giving the evil minister abetted by the evil queen and evil daughter who fancies GW into obsession.

Please give GW some manliness while triggering his smart brains into a rescue plan. I hope writer and PD give him more excellent sword play and have him lop off the head of the evil minister. GW can't always be looking pretty haha... he's got to flash those mesmerizing eyes and go into full action.

Princess can be at his side knocking off some heads. Of course Officer Kang must show his full might.

Oh noooooooooooooooooooo .... is the Prince from Qing GW's rival? Probably he has a bone with GW from GW's days getting favour from the Emperor of China. So this chap may be jealous !!!! DANGER COMING !!!!!

Ok, now abt the drama. 

@ate, I love the subtle conservative romance too. I kept replaying the scene where GW pulled Princess's skirt in while they were hiding in the room with all the books. I mean the director could have omitted that part or let the Princess pull her skirt in herself, but no... director let GW pull it in. The significance of that small action gives me the warm fuzzy feeling. 

I was hoping that GW would be some buddy friend with the Prince of Qing and things will be easier for the poor princess but looks like my hopes are dashed.

I really like this show because although the Princess is reckless, she is actually very observant and intelligent like GW. They make a great pair. Princess brings a dash of rainbow colour into GW life and GW brings some stability and patience to Princess. 

The romance is developing slowly and steadily which is great. Sometimes for k drama, if a couple start to love from the first few episodes, there will be trouble to break them up somewhere in the middle episodes. But then, hopefully the introduction of the Prince of Qing will be able to nudge the couple a little closer towards each other.

I was also hoping for some funny jealousy part from GW but right now the drama seem really serious and dark, I dun really think there will be an opportunity for funny jealousy scenes. Sigh. 

Another 6 more days to the next episode..... Go Team Princess!!!

1. What are the implications of a Korean princess marrying a Prince of Qing ? Will she eventually be the Empress of China? Or is the prince just adding her to his stable of concubines?

2. Why is the Prince so willingly and speedily wanting to marry a foreign princess. Why not his own noble ladies in his country ?

3. It seems simplistic for the evil minister to call the shots by just bribing his way to arrange the marriage.

4. How is it that this prince speaks Korean ?

5 Why is the meeting so informal and casual.

Poor GW, his heart is broken, just as he realises he cannot deny his feelings for the princess and now she is out of his reach. No stinky fish can cure a shattered heart. It's a cute funny scene.

He misses her as he reminisces the time they were drunk together.

 

The Prince of Qing had a gasp in his throat when he saw the princess. Then his eyes lit up.You can see that he was instantly smitten.

However you never what's up with this not-your-usual- impulsive-princess. I hope she has a good plan and can turn the table on the conniving minister. Somebody please put this evil Left Minister out of his misery.
