ilmare
it has been an incredible journey and am so gonna miss Moonlight, this is probably the 1st drama that i will miss the entire cast (main and supporting). from our main cast, to Princesses, to Eunuchs and to Queen and Evil Co. watched subs and i must say everything is nicely wrapped up. from baby Princess finally being able to speak, that scene is so touching, to see her struggling to overcome her traumatic shock and reveal the evidence, it is a big leap for her and also the final nail in PM Kim coffin. YS dying to protect RO. must really say JinYoung really blown me away. first time seeing him act and he truly impressed me from his first to last scene. love love love his poker face expression in ep 18 when telling PM Kim to let him bring RO in and when he faced RO. his final gift to RO and LY was so touching. he came into this drama (ep1) with such a flair that drew one's attention and he exited the drama with such words that will forever stay in RO and our hearts. YS you will never be remembered as a petty man who made a woman cry. Queen and baby. am so glad that she finally found her human side. the scene with LY in the courtyard was heart wrenching. her internal conflict to do the right thing or to hold on to position, esp after LY told her that the baby has the right to cry before her death. gosh! again she has really made her mark in this drama as the evil queen but in the end i can't help but pity her for her downfall, for her desire to be acknowledged by PM Kim even though she knew very well she was nothing to him but a tool to consolidate and strengthen his power. HY. am glad that she regained her free-spirit self. although i must say that as 2nd lead, her character did not get much attention or development, she showed us a very human side of a lady/woman during the Josean time who is willing to give up her happiness for her family (married or birth) and asking nothing in return. without the King's help to erase(?) the coronation, she was prepared to live alone and this just goes to show her as an independent woman who actually dared to have thoughts about her life and future. eunuch team. can i just say how much i love them. so happy to see Eunuch Jang promoted. imagine how happy he was when LY was to get married, he must be over the moon with LY being king. RO 2 sidekicks will be creating chaos now in the palace. our OTP. the ending is good cos they are together and not separated by crime, distance or death. am i too greedy to have wanted them to be married? for RO to be queen? still it was good. a happy ending for all. thank you all for being on this thread and allowing me to share this beautiful drama. my must check thread everyday, laughing along with the gifs and pics, nodding along with all your analysis. thank you all!
Popular Post _Nachan07
The best 1-minute rating recorded was 26.8%. It was even higher than yesterday. It is our last best 1-min rating . It was the ending scene . It was the scene where our OTP shared a kiss in the middle of a pretty flower field. http://m.entertain.naver.com/read?oid=109&aid=0003415592 I'm happy & shall go count sheep now~ See you all later Have a good day Moonlight family <3

Popular Post NRGchick
This photo just says it all. How happy PBG, KYJ and PBG look in the field of flowers. And I presume that our CP is spoiling our Ra On because that is one beautiful hanbok which will not be affordable on a book seller's wages... I am kind of glad they didn't take the Kim Hyung in love with Ra On route. Things were already so complicated with YS and if Kim Hyung too shares the same feelings..... Again, it hits me how young they are. Perfect for a youth romance in sageuk form.
Popular Post phoenixember
Annyeong, chingus! It's me again, rising from the ashes a.k.a hangover from last night's finale. Okay, I've watched it with subs this morning and I must say, it's quite satisfying the second time around. Let me begin by celebrating the life of Section Chief Kim Yoon Sung. Ahhh, Yoon Sung-ie, I hate the creative team for not giving him a happy ending. Seriously though, I didn't enjoy the finale when I first watched it last night primarily because they killed him. His death was the second scene in this series that made me sob frantically like someone in real life died. As I've said in my post last night, his love for Ra On and loyalty to CP can never be compromised, and the encounter at Jahyeondang is a concrete testament to that. He gave love and deserved to be loved in return. But then again, knowing Yoon Sung and his pure intentions, I guess for him, it was a good way to go. 'Til the very end, all he cared about is to keep Ra On safe and make her happy. He loved her that much that perhaps letting him go on with his life after our OTP's happy ending - let's say, have him leave the palace and have a family - would be a futile attempt as it would only contradict his true nature. I must say I am one of the few people who empathized with Jo Ha Yeon. I hope last night's episode redeemed her for any ill feelings from the audience towards her character. She loved the Crown Prince so much that she submitted herself to a transaction which will lead her to a cold, isolated life in the palace just to be able to help him, for him to have an ally. That same love made her give up her title and her life in the city, even consequentially be alone for the rest of her life, to relieve the Crown Prince of his duty to her. Yes, she hoped that he would love her some way one day. But isn't that what we do when we fall in love? We hope - no matter how far-fetched it seems. My heart ached for her during that scene outside the Crown Prince's room, through the narrow space between the doors, when she painfully realized that it's time to raise the white flag. I am just grateful that His Highness made a way for her to start over. Her last scene in the town on her way to the docks showed us a familiar yet different Ha Yeon - wounded but optimistic. I'd like to think that wherever she went, she found her own prince and lived her own happily ever after. The scene with Byung Yeon and Hong Gyong Nae watching the Crown Prince from a balcony as he mingles with the people is an assurance that Lee Young's reign is and will be remarkable for the years to come. I believe the White Cloud Society fully supports him and his government (With Dasan in it, who wouldn't, right?) and I guess there would be no more rebellion and no more bloodshed. It's a relief that everything worked for the government and the people. Why that can't happen in real life beats me. Oh, and it looks like Kim Byung Yeon was promoted to second-in-command in the White Cloud Society. Woot woot! That deserves a soju-chicken combo at Jahyeondang! (Oh crap, I remembered I was rooting for a Jahyeondang trio - with Yoon Sung, that is - reunion/drinking session after all the shenanigans in the palace but it will never come true now. *chokes back tears*) Kudos to our villains - Premier Kim and Queen - who didn't disappoint me until the very end. I must say, their characters were really well-crafted. These are villains you would hate to the core but would also understand because, at one point or another, you would see how fragile they are. The Queen only wanted her father's affection, in spite of being abandoned and all that just because she was a child of a kisaeng, that's why she wanted to be a perfect asset to the Kim family. Premier Kim on the other hand, while he's really greedy and wants to keep the stature of the clan intact, was also an old man who lost his grandson. Thumbs up to the way the writer's crafted his last moments. Taking his own life showed consistency in his proud character and I wouldn't have it any other way. (Yes, I don't think him being interrogated or poisoned or executed would satisfy me because he's not the kind of person who places himself at someone else's mercy.) And he used Yoon Sung's gun, by the way. I just found it impressively coincidental that Yoon Sung only has two bullets - one was spent as a warning shot to Eunuch Ma because he threatened to expose Ra On's identity and the second was reserved just in case someone tries to put her in danger. Isn't it fitting that the second bullet killed Premier Kim who, in Yoon Sung's face, ordered Ra-On to be killed by his henchmen (not once, but twice)? Amazeballs. *slow clap to the writers* Alright, I admit that last night, I said, "That's it? That's the happy ending for our OTP? THAT'S IT!?" But then I realized after watching it again that it was just right. Hong Ra On is just starting to enjoy life as Ra On and not Sam Nom. After so many years of hiding behind boy's clothes, she can finally be herself and redeemed from the accusations of trecheary just because she happened to be the rebel's daughter. She's back to writing and, by the looks of it, she's creating one bestselling novel after another. And what’s even better is that she’s no longer alone as she got her mother and father back in her life. After so many years of looking after herself, finally she has parents to take care of her. Let's allow her to savor those moments she'd been deprived of first. And the bickering between her and the Crown Prince is back, so I wouldn’t really complain anymore. We all know, seeing that scene in the cosmos field (I hope I’m right that it’s a cosmos field. I only read it somewhere in this thread.), they ended up together. So yay! MDBC creative team, I salute you for deviating from history and showing us what kind of ruler Crown Prince Hyomyeong might have been. When Lee Young emerged donning the King's attire, my heart fluttered like crazy - I am so happy for him. He was finally where he was supposed to be. Queen Dowager would have been one proud mama. I find it wonderful that this glorious scene is somewhat parallel to Park Bo Gum's life now. The realization of his dreams symbolized in that magnificent walk towards the royal seat in his crimson robe... aaaahhhh, be still my heart. And gosh, the way he walks lets my mind wander to a dark, byeontae place. Mianhaeyo, chingus. Please understand that I am only human and Park Bo Gum is my weakness right now. So that's it. That's the end. Eotteokhae, eotteokhae!? What's the point in having Mondays and Tuesdays now that it's over? What's the point in watching TV if they're not in it? What's the point in living at all? *sulks in a corner and cries* Ugh, I never imagined that fangirling can be this difficult - that a series can consume you and destroy you once it ends. It's not logical. But man, it's like a huge chunk of my heart was taken away. Annyeong, Ha Yeon-ie. Annyeong, Byung Yeon-ie. Annyeong, Yoon Sung-ie. Annyeong, Ra-On-ie. Annyeong... Annyeong, Seja Jeoha. I fell hard for you, maybe a little harder than Ra-On, to be honest. I wish there was someone like you in real life. But alas, real life is as dull as ever. Aigooooooo. Kamsahamnida, chingus for reading my posts and for liking, for our exchange of thoughts, for the trivias and spoilers, for the conversations. I know I am not alone in feeling the sepanx right now. I even think I'm having a withdrawal from this series. *sigh* Virtual hugs, please?

Niki-Forever
3 hours ago, miss-guided said: What I loved about the ending was that it did not just celebrate and acknowledge Yeong's and Ra On's love for each other, but it was about love of all kinds. It really made an emphasis to draw out so many ways that people love: the love of a king and a nation, love of a parent and child, love of one's friends, and in Choi Soo Bin's story arc, also the ability to be able to love oneself first. I love how the different kinds of love are shown to endure and that, even when such kinds of love can get ugly (like in the case of Premier Kim), the only way for you to rest with dignity is to hold on to that love. But in his case, it also drives a point that love is not enough. Because our choices and our priorities can either direct us or steer us away from experiencing it. In his case w/ YS, he turned out to have known early on about his grandson's ill fate, but instead of relishing and showing him love, he got blinded by his thirst for control (I'd like to think that his belief that having ultimate control might in a way change YS' fate). And instead of being grateful for having a daughter who is now the Mother of the Nation, he still was not satisfied. When there is love around you and you take it for granted, if you do not let it grow and fill you up, soon, it will not be enough to save you. I think I also like how his death mirrors YS. They both died by choice, but while YS died as a man who upheld his honor and principles, Premier Kim died trying to hold on to what little honor he had left (and I love that it was YS that made him feel that way). I think that the ending was beautiful. It is deserving of Bo Gum. In fact, it personifies Bo Gum. It was about being happy and grateful about the people around you. It is about loving the life you have, in spite of the difficulties and the losses. It is about having hope for a brighter future... THAT IS SO GUMMY. Good job, Writer-nim and PD-nim! Good job, Gummy and Yoo Jung and all of MDBC!

Popular Post ck1Oz
I came hours ago but was too drained to comment post ep 18. For a sageuk this is as good as it gets I think. For a romance drama this is pretty much the whole package. Good writing overall. Great directing and music. Good cast and a to die for OTP with insane chemistry. And gosh an intelligent male lead. KYJ- I am pretty much in love with her anyway. Plus a massive chuckle when I recognised the flowers. Cosmos. And we had the cosmos festival in Jealousy Incarnate last week. Hahaha. Guess I will now remember it blooms in Oct in Seoul and South Korea. Niggling question. The King still needs a Crown Princess and I felt so sorry for her. YS wouldn't have survived the Kim clan purging. This is why I said as a saguek this is as good as it gets. Need to go now and backtrack for the fan meet photos etc. Excellent drama. I am more pleased for the cast then as a viewer. I can't even imagine PBG or KYJ with anyone else now. God those 2. Yes YJ please have the closest oppa relationship you can have. Which girl in S Korea can say that huh? And PBG? I was grinning when he had the final kissing scene. Because of the whole got to keep it chaste vibe. I have spent the whole series alternatively envious of either of them acting with each other.

Everything about is so beautiful!! The flowers and gosh dont get me started with Kim Yoo Jung. She looks absolutely and gosh heart stoppingly beautiful in that last scene! PBG is dashing as alwasy but KYJ really....her fresh, lovely yet stunning appearance made the whole scene even more romantic. Wow i'm still amazed. It's like finally she looks as equally pretty and handsome as PBG. Not saying she wasnt before but her beauty was really downplayed alot the entire drama having to wear men clothes and the eunuch uniform therefore making PBG loooked extra dashing the entire drama. But during this last episode...both are equally handsome and gorgeous. What a beautiful pair really...I hope they will have a magazine photoshoot of them in hanboks...like modern take of it. So cool. The gorgeousness of that last scene is my only consolation for the lack of otp moments in the finale. Lol ( I kept saying gorgeous didnt i. But really....they are...gosh.....*replaying last scene for the 100th time*) P.s...and that kiss? Swoon. Love it that PBG pressed his lips firmly and move his head from one side to the other implying like it's a passionate kiss. I see a lot of him sliding his lips from side to side on hers too. Hehehe the art of kissing a minor lolzzzzz!!!!same here!!oh my gosh keep on replaying that gorgeous kissing scene also!!!!!!!!!can't get enough really..want to slap my own face so I can come back from reality after that kiss...as if they are also taking my breath away...love LOVE LOVE!!!

I hope you get an angel to love you with all her heart. thanks for teaching me that love is always patient and kind. love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. love takes no pleasure in other people's sins, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes.
