peipei78
it would be great if SH have additional episodes just like Playful Kiss...show in Youtube Live still can't get over with this drama and every time I saw the clips again, my heavy heart feeling like losing of my half soul. seems like I can feel the loneliness of WS and Soo's heartbreaking. I hare re-watch until 9th eps however still can't continue yet since I know what's going happened in the next eps. I missed them soo much

tinniet
I don't know if it has been shared before: FULL TRACK OF MLSHR OST (VOCAL + INSTRUMENTAL) It's been released in Melon apparently. Some parts of the instrumental OST are not in the drama. I wonder if they did shot some scenes with these missing parts but they got cut off. Should have been some epic scenes.

Well, I may write more after some good pondering. i think she didn't change anything it was more of a case of her meant to be there...she was meant to be there ...to sort of start the domino effect on events that led to the same outcome...having 3 kings after taejo and GJ being the GJ we know of in history....i'm not very articulate at the moment... but yeah i agree with you that she was responsible for the idea...its just that for me ..there was no change more like a collision of needed events and she was meant to be the trigger ...always meant to be there from the very beginning to structure that much needed phase of history...i'm sorry chingu...did i make any sense ...its 1 in the morning in my town...i can't form coherent phrases

Not necessary to be in the gallery/featured. I would prefer paintings of KGJ & HS spending time together. I'm sure they spent time together a lot & moments were captured by palace people. There'a a theory by @fengari that Baekah was the one who did the painting. After GJ realized that Soo wasn't from the same world with him (and somehow knew she was from the future) he decided to send her message by asking Baekah to visit all the remaining princes and put their best memory with Soo into painting. That's why there were painting of Soo following Wook's footstep in the snowfield, Jung protecting Soo from the bad guys, and Eun's birthday. Baekah also painted So's most defining moment: the ritual and the rain ceremony, and him standing alone in the palace. GJ knew these paintings would be preserved and make their ways to the future. That's the only way for him (and the princes) to remind her of them. Now that I write this, I think JM did the right thing by reminding GHJ about her time in Goryeo, eventhough I initially thought he was cruel. Can you imagine if JM didn't tell her? She wouldn't take her steps into the gallery, she wouldn't remember anything about So and the princes (yes she did dream about So but she was completely clueless), and all of GJ's and the princes' effort with those paintings would go in vain. As much as Soo deserved happiness, she also deserved to remember because that life in Goryeo was a piece of her life too. Her entire time in Goryeo, though mostly sad, also had some happy moments she would like to treasure. How it feels to wake up and know that something's missing but have no idea what it is? Now at least she understood. Of course it would be very nice if she met the modern So too after this realization, which should have happened according to LJG.
Popular Post zi4r
I'm drowning at work. Between MLSHR finale & debacles at workplace, I'm not sure whether I'll survive the next few days. Anyway, @40somethingahjumma & @kdramawriter, I saw the notifications about your posts, and I am sure they are gonna be brilliant & a treat to read, as usual..... but I don't have time or emotional availability to read & respond to them, in the way they deserve. So I'll be saving them for later. Sorry. A few people I forgot to respond from days-old posts: @fificybergal Actually, thank you for cutting my posts. That's a very nice summary... I need to learn to do that. Very sorry that I'm adding to your emotional rollercoaster. I love this drama to death, and I cannot explore its beauty without exploring its flaws. (As you know, I feel the same way about Wang So, as well.) Anyway, thank you for reading & letting me know how you feel. @eclipselovers No chill pill, dear. More like a sweet pill with a bitter core. I love & hate my MLSHR journey in equal parts, so my posts fluctuate between the beautiful & the ugly. Thank you for quoting the beautiful side of my post. And I am so glad that you find some comfort in reading them, just as I do in writing them. _______________________ And @kdramawriter, I squealed when I saw that you've updated your story on AO3. Then squealed some more when I saw the additional words "Book I" in the title. So happy that you're making it into an epic, chingu. It's so well-written, I'm glad you're gonna give it the scope & length it truly deserves. Thank you for giving us something to latch onto after the end of the drama. You're awesome. Having said that, I haven't had time to read the new chapter yet. Gonna save it for Sunday night, as a reward to myself after I've cleared the hot mess at work. To all other Eclipses: Really, if you haven't tried reading it, you should. Even if you are not a fan of canon-divergence fan-fiction, this is the one story you shouldn't miss. In just first 4 chapters, both WS & HS have been given shape & depth that the MLSHR canon itself failed to do. I am so in love with HS in this universe. I'm sharing the link here again, because I cannot recommend it enough: Escape From the Palace - Book I by kdramawriter _______________________ @LyraYoo I know I might sound as if I'm forever being critical of the writer, or as if I am putting all the blame on her. Actually, I understand that the show's high budget & big investors are highly responsible for the butchered editing & eye-candy casting & misused OSTs (especially in international version) & highhanded marketing. But if that's the only issue, we should be able to see some indicators that the writer is putting truly good effort into plot & character developments... but that isn't the case. It's WangSo one-man-show; it's as if the writer is a LJG-fan/WangSo-fan who decided to write a fanfiction about him. (Actually, I've seen countless fanfictions with better character-sketches than most characters in this show.) So the script itself is quite sketchy in terms of its depth & shape...... which is more severely butchered by the questionable direction & truly tragic editing flaws. It's obvious that the writer has good intentions, but it's highly questionable whether she could have achieved any of those intentions even without bad management & other factors. And it's also obvious that the director has tons of good skills; in my technical posts, it's obvious that I find the director absolutely genius in certain scenes. And it's also obvious that the editing team has done a remarkable job in SBS version, even with the time constraints. But what's the core issue? None of those parties are working well together to make it into a cohesive production. They all have different ideas & motivations in mind for each scene, and the final product suffers from the "too may cooks" scenario. Things that are seen as important by the writer are either not given gravitas by the director, or are edited out... so the story becomes incomplete or nonsensical in parts. You might say that's not the writer's fault. But it is. Writing a script is not the same as writing a novel. There should be clear indicators how each plot-points & characters are supposed to be portrayed so that the director & the editing team could do the script justice. The writer apparently has not done that well, because when the 35-ep is shortened to 20 eps, no one seems sure which scenes are actually important & which can be side-lined. They don't know what is the core-plot & what is the sub-plot. Other than WangSo, they see all other characters as non-characters. They tried to give WW some depth so that the first half of the drama makes sense, then shelled him out to conveniently make WS central in the later half. So the story keeps veering off & righting itself in alternate episodes, and characters began to seem flipping & flopping throughout the drama, much to the annoyance of the audiences. Is the writer getting more crap than she deserves? Maybe. Given how many big players became involved, her role was probably greatly sidelined. But I doubt the initial material she provided was that high in quality either. This is a case of everyone (including the writer, for a large part) biting more than they can chew, and choking on it. MLSHR doesn't truly suck...... but given its potential, the level of suckiness is really tragic. _______________________ On another note, I haven't checked out koalasplayground in a while, because there's no MLSHR recap there. But I just checked it out this morning, and this part of the post regarding LJG's fan-meet makes me want to laugh & cry: Quote What to make of Lee Jun Ki after the debacle that is K-Bu Bu Jing Xin? A new career high due to being the best thing in a complete hot mess? Perhaps, but ultimately he’s carved out a fifteen year plus acting and singing career being so darn optimistic and earnest about each and every endeavor. He’s basically the multi-talented and supremely good looking chipmunk that teaches all of us the rewards of hard work and a great attitude. I don't always agree with koala, but I've always admired the sardonic edge in her posts. And here, I can't phrase it better myself. It's truly admirable how LJG has given his heart & soul to every single project throughout his career. No matter what my feelings are about MLSHR production as a whole, I am glad that he is the kind of actor that can take it with good attitude & optimism. But after Scholars & MLSHR, both of which are mired in production flaws, I really hope he will get to act in a drama he truly deserves. LJG is Wang So, there's no denying that..... and Wang So is MLSHR. But being known as the only saving grace in failed productions, even though it might not affect his portfolio much, cannot be good for his psyche. I hope he will announce his new project soon (and I'm not talking about the fluff web-drama for Lotte-Duty-Free), before the fervor of his fan-base peters out. I truly wish him & the rest of the cast well; they all deserve a huge round of applause for their hard work & dedication. Even though SBS's attitude towards the drama is not in the best place right now, I hope they will still recognize LJG's & KHN's performance during the award season. Oh, and the costume team too! All the costumes are absolutely gorgeous. Another side-news regarding this..... LJG's IG has grown to 1.4 million followers now: _______________________ Okay, I'm gonna end my winding & disorganized post here. Needa focus on lunch and then get back to work. Sigh..... real-life or drama-life, doesn't matter.... Everything is kinda sucky in its own way.
