'Fancy Seduction' Will Feature Revenge And Romance For Fifty Episodes

The leading stars are still discussing the terms of their contracts but script readings have already begun for the drama "Fancy Seduction."

MBC representatives spoke with the Korean media outlet Newsen about the drama, and surprisingly they plan to air the modern story for 50 episodes. It is rare for a modern-day weekday drama to run that long.

Joo Sang Wook and Choi Kang Hee are finalizing contracts for the leading roles in this story of struggling working mom who becomes involved in the dazzling but materialistic world of the wealthy. Choi's character meets these members of the upper class through an introduction by a former classmate. The drama synopsis promises all sorts of conflicts and cruelty, including some attempts at revenge, before Choi's character can help those she encounters learn the true meaning of life.

Living a difficult life has made her a better person and she is in a unique position to teach them some valuable life lessons.

Joo Sang Wook plays Choi's love interest. Nam Joo Hyuk plays the young Joo Sang Wook, while Kim Sae Ron plays the young Choi Kang Hee. The characters met and fell in love as high school students. The younger actors met for the first script reading on Aug. 17.

Joo Sang Wook's most recent dramas were the comedies "Cunning Single Lady" with Lee Min Jung and "Birth of a Beauty" with Han Ye Seul but he is no stranger to melodrama.

Choi Kang Hee is best known for her comedies, "Protect The Boss" with Ji Sung and "Level 7 Civil Servant" with Joo Won but she's is good at playing plucky, upbeat heroines. In her most recent drama "Heart To Heart" with Chun Jung Myung, she played a neurotic recluse.

The drama also stars Jung Jin Young, Kim Byung Su, Na Young Hee, Kim Mi Kyung, Kim Bo Ra and Jung In Gi.

Son Yong Mok, who wrote "May Queen" and "Golden Rainbow," will write the screenplay for "Fancy Seduction.

Kim Sang Hyub, who directed "Level 7 Civil Servant" and "Mama - Nothing to Fear" will direct the Monday - Tuesday drama.
