Park Yoo Chun decided on taking ‘The Girl Who Sees Smell’ because of his role’s attraction

JYJ’s Park Yoo Chun

will be leading upcoming SBS TV Wed-Thu drama ‘The Girl Who Sees

Smells,’ and he recently expressed his thoughts on why he had accepted

the offer to star in it.

‘The Girl Who Sees Smells’ tells the story of a man named Choi Tae Ho

(Park Yoo Chun) who lost his younger sister three years ago in the

‘barcode murder’ case, and a woman named Oh Cho Rim (Shin Se Kyung) who

miraculously survived from the same incident, but has gained

supernatural senses in the process. Besides the tension and suspense,

the drama will also depict a romance between a couple who help each

other heal from a tragic past.

Park Yoo Chun plays a detective named Choi Moo Gak, who has lost his

senses. He expressed in a recent interview that he had decided on

starring in the drama, because he was attracted by the role and

storyline. Park Yoo Chun also made mention of his previous drama

‘Rooftop Prince’ in 2012, “I am actually also looking forward to working

alongside writer Lee Myung Hee, having worked previously with her on

‘Rooftop Prince.’ I am really delighted to be working alongside so many

talented people on the production.”

Writer Lee Myung Hee of ‘The Queen of Ambition’ and ‘Rooftop Prince’

will pen the script for ‘The Girl Who Sees Smells,’ while Baek Soo Chan

of ‘Pure Pumpkin Flower’ and ‘Bride from Vietnam’ will direct. Besides

Park Yoo Chun, the drama will also star Shin Se Kyung, Nam Goong Min,

Yoon Jin Seo, Kim So Hyun, and others. The drama will premiere on April

1st, following ‘Hyde Jekyll, Me.’

Park Yoo-chun reunites with ‘Rooftop Prince’ writer in three years for new TV series ‘Sensory Couple’

Park Yoo-chun talked about being cast for SBS’s new Wednesday-Thursday television series, ‘Sensory couple’.

‘Sensory Couple’ is based on the namesake webtoon. It is a romantic

comedy drama with mystery and suspense. The drama will depict an

insensate detective and an extrasensory woman who can even ‘see’ smells

and scents.

“I felt it was a very interesting drama with an interesting script

and character. I thought it would be fun to star in it,” said Park

Yoo-chun, who was cast as an insensible detective, Choi Moo-gak.

‘Sensory Couple will feature a variety of genres. First, there is

mystery and suspense. Choi Moo-gak investigates a crime and tries to

arrest a serial killer. Then there is romance. He meets Cho-rim(Shin

Se-kyung), a victim of the case. While he shares her pain, he falls in

love with her. Finally, there is some comedy added. As there are some

comedians starring in this drama, they will be responsible for the fun

part as Choi Moo-gak’s colleagues.

Park Yoo-chun has reunited and teamed up with scriptwriter Lee

Hee-myung in three years since they worked together in SBS’s television

series ‘Rooftop Prince’ in 2012.

“I did have expectations about meeting writer Lee again,” he said.

“That was one of the reasons I chose this drama. It is also an honor for

me to work with such a great crew and great colleagues including

Se-kyung.”

“Although there are a lot of action scenes in the beginning of the

drama, Park Yoo-chun is willing to play his police officer part

enthusiastically at all times. He is showing a good performance,” said

one of the production crews from SBS.

SBS’s new Wednesday-Thursday television series ‘Sensory Couple’ will

premiere on April 1 after ‘Hyde, Jekyll, Me’. It will feature the cast

of Park Yoo-chun, Shin Se-kyung, Namgoong Min, Yoon Jin-seo, Kim

So-hyun, Jung Chan-woo, Kim Byung-wook, Lee Won-jong, Jo Hee-bong, Oh

Cho-hee, Choi Jae-hwan and more.

A sense is a physiological capacity of organisms that provides data for perception. U can read it full in Here.

I think in CMG's case , he lost his sense of taste, smell & feel. He absolutely can see n hear. Based on the description of the character, he lost the ability to smell, taste and sense things...I think for the sense things, it means he can't feel anything. Anything that happen to him or around him. Lost connection, so his brain can't provides data for perception. The example from the description, even while fighting brutally with criminals, he couldn't feel any pain. For a normal person, if you get hit or kick, the sense of feel will send data to brain n the result is U feel Pain. But for MG, it's nothing. His brain can't give him that result. So he doesn't know what is Pain. So, it's like emotionless...cos he doesn't feel anything so how to express his emotion.

ahhhh, I think I know how ChunNi's felt about this character. It's a challenging character.

For CR....she can see smells....so I think even she close her eyes or wore that bunny sunglasses ( another tokki in ChunNi's drama. LOL) she will know exactly what is that. n there is a gelato scene....so I think there will be many animation, She just smell the ice cream n there will be chocolate, strawberry and other things flying in her head n popped in our monitor. LOL.....

Hello everyone..just drop by to say that i'm excited for this drama to start.

Since the theme is romantic comedy suspense drama i believe this qill be sort of rtp again,which i totally like..hopefully this drama will be well received in korea and international.

About yc and ssk,visually they match.. ni did watch blademan,ssk was kind of okay there..what is not okay is the storyline so i kinda stop at episode 8 like that..so for her acting in SC will wait for the drama to start before judging her..lol..so fighting to SC team..

btw, his hairstyle n also SSK's similar with the character in webtoon. It's only 1 month after he cut his hair but at the beginning his hair  kinda like Han Jung Woo's style but finally it will be different for Mu Gak....

and.....ahh, finally he will has a scene with policeman uniform? So far only from pic (IMU) n when he escape from police station (3 Days)

ahhh.....My Spring drama, hehehe....n oh my....he even wear uniform for the poster. But that kind of poster can take it on different time n I need to see their interaction.

Choi Mu Gak has a good look that charms all the women but he can't have

emotion nor feel love. So he struggles in lovelife and social life.

OhChoRim was the only witness of the accident,lost her memory and

couldn't remember the killer nor her life saver (ahh,so MG save her)

Yeommi (2nd female lead) is a police profiler who is very beautiful. She

has some feeling for Choi Mu Gak but never shows it to him.

Choi Mugak's profession before becoming a cop, was an aquarium's aquarist. ( WOW....he love Sea so after Haemoo, this time his role profession also show it....)

Choi Mugak / A Cop Who Lost His Senses

Before becoming a cop, he was an aquarist in an aquarium. Three years

ago, he lost his sister who was a victim in the ‘barcode murder’. Even

though Mugak is a cop, he only learned what ‘barcode murder’ is after a

long time.

After losing his sister, Mugak endured without eating and sleeping

for 20 days. When there were talks that Choi Mugak may die in that

condition, he was found unconscious in a shark tank in an aquarium in

Jeju Island.

Subsequently after this incident, Mugak who fell into a coma gained

consciousness after 6 months. But there was something wrong with his

body. Strangely, he lost his sensory system and ability to smell. His

nervous system strangely could not register pain (agony).

It’s like analgesia. [T/N: A medical term for the loss of the ability to feel pain while in a conscious state.]

After losing his sense of smell, because he could smell absolutely

nothing, even when there’s a stench from a corpse at the murder scene,

he does not need to wear a mask. (This could be mistaken as being

manly).

Since he had lost his ability to taste, he does not know the flavor

of food. Nevertheless, he’s a glutton. No matter how tasteless the food

is, he doesn’t stop until he has eaten up three servings. (This could be

mistaken as being manly).

Because he does not feel pain, no matter how bad he is being hit by a

criminal during a fight, he fights with the criminal endlessly until he

overpowers him. When the pain exceeds its limit, he does not feel it

but only faints. (This could be mistaken as being manly).

He has no smiles or tears. He can be called, “emotionless” and he is

considerably emotionally dry. He is unable to feel love towards women.

With his good looks and laddish charm, ladies are drawn towards him but

Mugak’s extreme dullness makes them lose interest. He is so dry to the

point that he does not have a love life and social life for him is

challenging.

Arresting the murderer of his sister is his life goal. Because of

that, he gave up his favorite profession as an aquarist to become a cop.

It has been 3 years since the murder took place but not even a clue is

found and the case falls into a maze.
