Story : Kim Han Joo kidnaps his childhood friend and first love, Young Hye's baby daughter from her mother in-law who had snatched the baby upon the death of her son with the help of of a friend but they were unable to bring the child back to Young Hye due to unforeseen circumstances and Han Joo had to take the child in as one of his adopted children.  
Although all seven of his adopted children formed a stronger than blood bond relationships with him and each other as they grew up together in the same family, their fate threatens to force them apart when Baek Won finds out her birth secret and has to go against her own grandmother and uncle in business, Cheon Won's "unstoppable thirst" to do anything to get out of the poverty and her jealousy towards Baek Won who has Man Won's one-sided romantic affections.

Kim Yoo Jung reunites with the production crew of MBC "May Queen" for "Golden Rainbow" as the childhood role of the female lead "Baek Won", the eldest sister of the seven orphans who came to live together as a family. Although Baek Won feels burden in her heart that she doesn't know who her real parents are, she managed to form a stronger than blood bonds relationship with her adopted siblings. The drama backdrop will be lesser known fishery industries and the childhood roles of the leads last about 10eps before the adults steps into the shoes left by the kids. The drama will start filming in September after casting confirmation of the other roles and air in November after Scandal ends.

@yeohweping      Thanks for the info!  Edited my post coz I  don't really know their names but the little boy is so cute, I saw him on Good Doctors as young Joo Won and he was good and I wished he would be included on this drama.  On a shallow note,  I'm curious coz I've read that Yoo Jung's gonna be the oldest sister amongst the orphans, but the girl above looks a bit mature compare to the rest of the "child" orphans.  She's really pretty but would seem more suited with the adult cast, visually. Let's just wait and see.

After School member Uee is looking into the possibility of returning to the small screen on the weekend after her last weekend drama “Ojakkyo Brothers” through “Golden Rainbow.”

“Golden Rainbow” is a drama focusing on the relationships of seven orphans who are said to be closer than siblings related by blood. Using the ocean as the backdrop, the drama will handle the challenges and successes regarding marine fish marketing.

If confirmed, Uee will play the older version of the role child actress Kim Yoo Jung is already confirmed to play. The role of “Baek Won” is an orphan who has a younger sibling. She doesn’t remember her parents and will do her best even in the face of hardships.

“Golden Rainbow” plans to start filming in September and air in November after the drama “Scandal” finishes its run.

UEE offered weekend drama Gold Rainbow

The weekend family drama slot was good to UEE the first time around (with the heartwarming and sweet Ojakkyo Brothers), and she’s in talks to take on her second with the upcoming MBC series Gold Rainbow. According to her reps, she has received the offer and is looking at it favorably, although she would have to work out her overseas activities with pop group After School before deciding.

Gold Rainbow is the drama from the writer of May Queen, which will feature child star Kim Yoo-jung in what will be a considerable childhood portion. (Early news said roughly 10 episodes.) The drama centers around seven orphans who grow up as a family, with Kim Sang-joong countering his image as badass mofo ajusshi (City Hunter, The Chaser) to play the adoptive father. The role UEE is considering would be the eldest unni.

This description is giving me total flashbacks to Wish Upon a Star, the 2010 SBS drama about a family of adopted siblings led by a big sister (Choi Jung-won), whose characters were named after colors of the rainbow: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Navy, and Purple. Not that I think Gold Rainbow will be a direct copy of that, since May Queen was a lot more serious and staid than the light and funny Wish Upon a Star. I do hope for UEE’s sake that this drama allows her to play to her strengths, which are being cheery and charming, rather than dead-eyed and dull as in Jeon Woo-chi — which isn’t an indictment of her acting, since her character was literally sleepwalking through life and purposely dead-eyed. It just wasn’t very interesting to watch.

Gold Rainbow is planning for a mid-November premiere on MBC.

Young actress Kim Yoo Jung departs from her usual sweet image to play a villain in a new film. According to a report in local news agencies, the young actress joins the movie “Elegant Lies,” directed by Lee Han, in which she plays Hwa Yeon. Hwa Yeon is described as an outwardly bright and cheerful character, but hides her true nature. Behind her gentle smile lies a bully who enjoys torturing her peers. 

The film itself centers around the suicide of a 14-year-old girl, played by Kim Hyang Ki (“The Queen’s Classroom“). Her sudden death leaves behind her mother (Kim Hee Ae) and an older sister (Go Ah Sung), and how the two cope with her loss. It is based on a novel by Kim Ryu Ryung, who also wrote the novel on which Yoo Ah In‘s “Wandeukyi” (or “Punch”) is based. “Wandeukyi” was also directed by Lee Han.

“Elegant Lies” is set to begin shooting at the end of the month.

MBC‘s next weekend series “Golden Rainbow” hold first script reading practice for the child actors and will soon began a full-scale production.

MBC released some photos of scene from the advanced script reading rehearsal of upcoming Special drama “Golden Rainbow”. The event was attended by the child actors (Ahn Seo Hyun (Shark), Kim Dong Hyun (May Queen) Choi Ro Woon (Good Doctor), Jung Yoon Suk (Her Legend), Song Yu Jeong, Kim Tae Jun, & Kim Yoo Jung) who were cast to play the younger roles of 7 siblings, all of whom are orphans and not blood-related but love each other more than real siblings.

As a child actor who has been already recognized, the practice finished harmoniously. Some of the child actors were seen seriously while the others were smiling throughout the occasion.

“Golden Rainbow” will start filming this coming September and expected to be broadcast in November as the subsequent for “Scandal” which currently being broadcast on MBC.

Actor Jung Il Woo is currently being offered in the last minute and expected to join upcoming weekend drama “Golden Rainbow” according to an official from MBC.

“Golden Rainbow” is a story about 7 orphaned not blood-related siblings facing the hardships of the world. Jung Il Woo’s possible role takes care of the other two orphaned siblings. He will go after UEE‘s character and fall in love with her.

Jung Il Woo starred in last year’s hit drama “The Moon That Embraces The Sun” and left a deep impression as Prince Yang Myung. Recently, he refused all the other hundred-million-won contracts to sign with his own agency Haru Entertainment. On August 23, he went to Japan and met with his Japanese Fan Club for his 2nd Fan Meeting. The actor were currently focused on his overseas activities these days.

On the other hand, Actor Kim Sang Jung who is best known for his role as Steve Lee in SBS Television series City Hunter and Presidential Candidate Kang Dong Yoon “The Chaser” has finalized his appearance in the upcoming weekend series.
