I have just finished Secret Garden today and I have to say that Ha Ji Won looked incredible in the drama. Was just so captivated. It is just like JW in the drama, she sticks to the mind.

Her outfit in the above picture is really nice as well.

It is too bad I haven't seen her previous works but I will most likely be watching Hwang Jini.

Ha Ji Won: Gil Ra Im? It's hard  but I love playing it. (JOY NEWS 24 INTERVIEW PART 2)

하지원과의 인터뷰는 시종일관 유쾌하고 즐거웠다. "멋져 멋져", "5번 척추 6번 만들어줄까?"를 외치며 밝게 웃는 하지원은  길라임보다 더 어메이징했다. 만나는 사람에게 '이러니 내가 안 반해? 멋져 멋져'를 외치게 하는 여자가 하지원이다.

We continually enjoyed interviewing with Ha Ji Won. “Amazing”, “Making 5th vertebrae 6th” these amazing lines coming from Gil Ra are the bright smile Ha Ji Won. The people that she met, “Do I have them? Of course!” that is the woman Ha Ji Won.

◆ "멜로신, 제가 좀 부족했나요?"

'시크릿가든' 속 현빈-하지원의 달달한 키스신은 매 방송마다 화제가 됐다. 벤치키스부터 거품키스, 파티키스까지 '똘탱커플' 주원-라임의 키스신은 시청자들 가슴까지 두근거리게 만들었다.

"키스신 같은 멜로신은 아무래도 부끄러워요. 열심히 한다고는 하는데 아직 많이 부족한가봐요(웃음).  나중에서야 보시는 분들이 아쉬워하시는 걸 알았죠. 팬분들이 '키스를 잘 못하는 것 같다', '너무 부끄러워하는 것 같다'고 글을  올려주셨더라구요. 그래서 다시 봤는데 제가 좀 많이 부족한 것 같았어요. 전 오히려 키스신보다 바라보고 설레고 눈 마주치고 이런  게 잘 맞아요(웃음)."

하지원은 '시크릿가든'에서 김주원의 영혼이 들어간 길라임을 연기하기 위해 무수한 노력을  했다. "영혼 체인지라는 소재가 판타지지만 시청자들에게 진짜처럼 이입시키고 싶었다"는 하지원은 "남자가 아닌 김주원으로 바뀌었다는  느낌을 주기 위해 현빈씨의 특징을 연구했다"고 말했다.

철저하게 김주원으로 변신하기 위해 현빈의 목소리를 녹음해서 듣고, 방송 분량 중 현빈이 출연한 방송분은 계속 보고 따라하며 익혔다는 하지원은 "시청자들이 알아주시지 않아도 눈빛, 얼굴 각도, 어깨 모습까지 유심히 봤다"며 "계속 '난 김주원이다'라고 자기 최면을 걸었다"고 밝혔다. 나중에는 김주원 연기에 푹 빠져 길라임일 때도 자신도 모르게 주원을 연기하고 있었다며 웃음을 터뜨렸다.

◆ “Love scenes? Do I have flaws in them?”

These are the questions that became a hot topic whenever “Secret Garden” aired the kissing scenes of Hyun Bin and Ha Ji Won. Rather it is the bench kiss, cappuccino kiss or to the party kiss, the two pair of Ji Won and Ra Im’s kisses, accelerated the audiences with excitement.

“I felt pretty shy when doing genres such as love relationship. However, I am very focused and engaged in performing it, but I think I still have some area that I lack in. (Laughs) Later when I found out that the viewers said the scenes were not as good, many fans left me messages, 'You don’t know how to kiss?', 'You must be shy' etc. Therefore, when I see it again carefully, I found out that there are some areas that I lack in. For example, I feel like I am more suitable for a person that gets nervous when I am looking at the opposite’s eyes as I’m kissing. (Laughs)”

Ha Ji Won spend countless effort in portraying well of Ju Won’s character when both of them soul switched. “Even if it is fantasy, I still want to attract the audience into this genre. Not only for me to become as a man, but to become as Kim Ju Won."

To carry out this result, she must study the important points of Hyun Bin. Record the words of Hyun Bin and listen to it everytime, and repeating Hyun Bin’s reaction countless times, act it out while observing him. "Whether the audience notice it or not, but I even concentrated in studying Hyun Bin’s eyes, facial expressions, and how his shoulder shrugged etc. I kept mesmerized myself, ‘I am Kim Ju Won’ I found out that I ended up being so into the character of Kim Ju Won that later when I returned back as Gil Ra Im, I was still trying to act out as a character of Kim Ju Won. (Hysterical Laugh)”

◆ "하지원에게 길라임이란? 험해도 사랑스럽죠?"

하지원에게 길라임은 잊을 수 없는 특별한 배역이다. 아직도 '시크릿가든'의 여운에서 벗어나지 못한 하지원은 길라임이 되기 위해 준비한 시간만큼 길라임을 보내는데도 그만큼의 시간을 써야할 터다.

" 라임이를 통해 정말 많이 배웠어요. 드라마에서 여성들은 멋진 남자에게 기대하고 싶고, 백마탄 왕자님을 만나면 모든 걸 포기하고  떠나고도 싶어하잖아요. 그런데 라임이는 끝까지 자신이 좋아하는 일을 잡고 누군가에게 절대 기대지 않아요. 게다가 '5번 척추,  6번 만들어줄까', '아주 세상이 파스텔톤이지' 이런 말을 해도 특이하게 귀엽고 사랑스러워요. 라임이니까 가능한 걸까 하고 생각해  본 적도 있어요. 현실에도 그런 남자 있을까요?(웃음)."

분명히 하지원에게는 그런 남자가 있을 것이라고 말하자 "남자들은 귀엽게 강한 한 마디를 좋아하지 않을까요? 새로운 여성 캐릭터"라며 또다시 웃음을 터뜨린다.

'시크릿가든' 속 유행어 '문자왔숑'은 하지원이 직접 고른 라임의 전매 특허다. "감독님이 저 보고 고르라고 해서 가장 라임이다운 걸 골랐다"는 하지원은 "'문자왔숑'을 보는 순간 딱 라임이 것이라는 생각이 들었다"고 뿌듯해했다.

하지원은 드라마에서 스턴트우먼이라는 쉽지 않은 배역을 소화했다. 촬영을  하며 자신의 대역을 해주는 스턴트우먼 유미진씨와 남자 스턴트맨들과 많은 대화를 나눴다는 하지원은 "라임이가 촬영 중 입은 상처를  감추고 그런 아픔이 드라마를 통해 표현이 많이 되는데, 스턴트하시는 분들이 길라임이랑 많이 비슷하다고 말해주셨다"며 "그런데  '사랑처럼 그런 관계는 없습니다'라고 딱 잘라 말하시더라"고 말해 인터뷰 현장을 웃음바다로 만들기도 했다.

◆ “What is Gil Ra Im to Ha Ji Won? Although she might not be a gentle character, but would she be a cute character?”

To Ha Ji Won, Gil Ra Im is a unique character that she cannot forget. Ha Ji Won, who has not escaped from “Secret Garden”, has to say goodbye to Gil Ra Im, the role that Ha Ji Won prepared hard for in a long period of time.

“Through Gil Ra Im, I really learned a lot. The role of females in most TV dramas usually depends on males who can be dependable, when they meet a Prince on white horse, the females usually give up everything of her own to be with the male. But in the case of Ra Im, even to the end, she persisted to never let go of what she loves, and she doesn’t rely nor depend on any other people, to add to that, she even said, ‘Do you want me to make your 5th vertebrae the 6th?’, ‘You think this world is all painted in a colorful picture?’ This could really make people feel that she is cute, and loveable. To me, only a woman like Gil Ra Im can make the impossible become possible. I wonder if in reality if there are such men like her? (Laughs)”

When we told Ha Ji Won that there must be men who are like that, Ha Ji Won replied, “So men usually like cute and tough girls? They (girls) must have a new kind of personality. (Hysterical Laugh)”

One of the famous line from “Secret Garden” was “문자와숑”, the text ringtone that Ha Ji Won personally picked.

“The director wanted me to choose from a variety of them. The moment I heard this particular ringtone, I immediately felt that ringtone belongs to Gil Ra Im’s.”

The role of a stuntwoman that Ha Ji Won portrayed perfectly was not an easy role at all. “During filming, I communicate a lot and practiced a lot with my stunt double Yoo Mi Jin as well as other stuntmen. One of the scenes in the drama that showed Gil Ra Im’s wounds on her arm has shown as a depiction of the sweat and tears the stunt people have for their work. And Gil Ra Im was representing all of them. But all of them said to me, ‘But we don’t have this kind of love story…’“ From what she said in her last line, the team of interviewers burst in to laughters.

Korean Fan account of meeting Ha Ji Won in Los Angeles. (PART 1)

오  늘 하지원씨가 LA에 도착하신다는 정보를 접수시 우리 시가 줌마특공대들에 대 활약이 이루어 졌습니다.저는 일이고 뭐고 어제  부터  오늘 까지 가위질 해서 (특히!! 지화씨!! 메세지 너무 길어서 다 적느니라 죽는줄알았소!! 근데 있는 그대로 한자도  안빠지고  드렸소)한자 한자 확인에 확인 절차를 거쳐서 얼마전에 구입한 아주비싼 레이저카피기로 한장 한장 열과성의를 다해서  카피를  떴죠..그러니라고 남편도 아이도 다 팽겨치고 이렇게 매달리고 있더니 울 남편왈 정말 정성이다... 어떻게 이렇게  까지... 완전  판타스틱이다!! 라며 놀라는 울 남편을 뒤로 그러던지 말던지 열컴, 열정검했습니다....헥헥

그리고  완성한뒤 시간상 저희집에서 시간이 꽤 거릴는지라 PM 6:30분경쯤 빈속을 달래려 빵과우유를 입어꾸겨넣고 샤워를 끝낸뒤 정성스레  가위질한 작품(?)을 잘 담고 꽃다발도 챙기고 아이들은 동생한테 맏기고 저와울 남편은 고고고~~~

공항으로 가면서도, 정말  만날수 있을까? 알아보고 메니저분들이 제압하지는 않을까?이런 고민 저런 고민을 하던중  드디어....공항도착!! 주차하고나서  바리바리 만들어온 것들을 챙겨서 경자님이 자세히 알려주신대로 그대로 들어간 시간이  8시40분PM ....

아직 아무도 오지를 않았더군요. 비행기는 확인 결과 9시29분PM 도착!! 기다리는중에도 한국분들은 없었어요, 그리고 안절부절 하고 있는데 9시20분정도 되니 코디분과 메니저분 그리고 LA가이드분(?)이 들어 오시더라고요!!

직감적으로 아!!! 때가 됐다는 걸 알고 조금 망설이다가 제 머리속에 스치는 생각이 '이렇게 메니저분도 오시고 코디님도 오셨으니 내가 갑자기 나타나서 "하지원씨 팬이예요...홍홍홍" 하면 그자리에서 제압당할것같은 분위기!!!!!!

그래서 당당히 코디님한테 다가가서 "저 하지원씨 코디님이시죠!!" 라고 말을 걸었더니 두분들 눈이 아주 동그랗게, 그것도 정말 황당과놀람사이!!

코디님은 조금 망설이시는듯 "네"하고 대답하시더라고요... 그래서!!! 제가 아줌마 잖아요!!!

Okay!! If everyone is fine with what I am about to share, then I can begin… haha

Today, I received a report from our “시가 줌마특공대” (The Secret Ajumma Specialists) that Ha Ji Won will be arriving to LA today. We decided to start our big active project.

Me? From yesterday ‘till today, I could care less about my work, all I did was to prepare the greeting for Ji Won unnie. (Especially you!! Ji Hwa-ssi!! I copied word for word from your short messages, your messages are long!! Luckily, I did not tire out from your request! I did not miss a single word; I gave everything to Ji Won!)

I made sure every single word (한자 한자) was correct, and even copied it pages by pages, you can all tell from my extreme passion that all these pages could make up as a book itself. Regardless of whether I should just dump my husband and my kids, my husband said to me, “You sure really are into it, how can you do it, it’s really fantastic!!”

But I ignored him and continued doing my own business, seriously preparing and checking everything is right… Cough (헥헥) I liked it. After I finished, I went out to the airport, I could only quickly stuffed milk and bread into my mouth as I go, I showered at 6:30PM, and bought Ji Won’s finished present with me, I also took some flowers too, and I left the kids at my sister’s home.

And then, me and my husband are off, GO GO GO~~~~

On the road, I kept thinking, will we even meet? Will the managers block us off seeing that we are the fans? While thinking about it in frustration, we have….. arrived to the airport!!

We parked our cars, and bought everything we had with us, and according to Kyeong Ja-nim’s report, we should be at the airport by 8:40 PM…..

There was no one there yet, we went to check the flight time and Ji Won’s flight arrive at 9: 29 PM!! While we are waiting, we didn’t see other fellow Korean fans, while we were waiting impatiently, the stylist and manager appeared, and there was also an LA tour guide with them!

I know it from my instinct, ah!!! The time is here! In the midst of my hesitation, and in the midst of the appearances of the stylist and the manager, the thought of me suddenly jumped in front of them and said I am Ha Ji Won’s fan would surely get me blocked off….. HONGHONGHONG (홍홍홍) Therefore, I use my courage and walked towards Ha Ji Won’s stylist and said, “You must be Ha Ji Won’s stylist!” Both people widened their eyes, their eyes were really round, one of those absurd and shocked types of eyes!!

Stylist hesitated but he replied yes. Therefore!!!! I am certainly an “ajumma”!!!!! Actually, I am here to finish my mission…

이분들 정말 아주 많이 놀라 시더라고요!! 어떻게 비행기 스케줄을 알고 그리고 자기들 보다 먼저 나와서 기다리고 계신냐고... 비행기 스케줄은 본인들 밖에 모른다고요...

저와울남편이 보기에도 그분들 표정은 정말 많이 놀란것 같았어요!!!

표정들이 특공대게릴라 작전이라도 보신분들인것처럼 믿을수가 없다고 하시길래.......

제가 지금 시가홈에서는 완전 라임,주원사랑에 몸살들이 나셨다고....ㅎㅎㅎㅎ

그 래서 기회는 이때다 하고 부탁드렸어요!! 제가 이틀동안 작업해서 모아온 글들이라고!!그리고 제 멜이 지금 테러 수준이라고...  LA에 사는 이유로 제가 이리 왔다고 그러니 지원씨께 전해드리고 싸인좀 받을수 있겠냐고요!!! 벌써 제 손에는 이쁘게 포장된  꽃다발과 투명한 파일에 지원씨 사진과 글씨들이 보이고 ...

그분들도 정말 단단히 준비하고 나온상태라고 생각하시는것 같더라고요!!!

코디님이 메니저분께 이런말 저런말 하시더라고요... 살짝 들으니 제가 시가홈피며 제 멜테러며 한 이야기들을 그대로 메니저분꼐 하시더라고요... 분위기상 됐다!!!!! 싶더라고요!!!

역시 아줌마 짱!!

And both of them was shocked and jumped!!! Then they asked me how I know about the flight time, seeing how I was early then their arrival…. Because they said only they know about the flight time……

Me and my husband can tell by their shocked expression……

Their expressions were as if they had seen a team of specialists tracking them down, they couldn’t believe it was from our fan reports, just look at their face…..

I said, everyone by now has already become crazy fan-nerds for Secret Garden…… (시가홈에서는 완전 라임,주원사랑에 몸살) Hahahaha

So, I saw this as an opportunity and I beg for them to understand…..

These are the words that I quickly prepared in two days!! Also, right now my email inbox is like being bombed……. Just because I live in LA, I became the representative for all other 1023…...

So I asked them if they could let me give the stuff to Ha Ji Won and an autograph from her!!! On my hand are a bouquet of fresh flowers and a transparent wrapping of Ji Won’s pictures and our fan letters….

They seemingly understood us, and understand that we prepared a lot to greet them!!! The stylist went to discuss with the manager…. I eavesdropped the stylist said to the manager that I am a Se-Ga fan nerds and that my inbox is exploding with multiple bombings….. I feel like it is…… a success!!!!! As expected!! Ajumma Jjang!!

While I was anxiously waiting, fin~~al~~ly!!!!!!!!! (드~~~디~~~어!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

In a crowd where she was the one holding on to the escalator, I can see her with my sharp eyes, ah!!!!!! Indeed it is Ha Ji Won-ssi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HJW really differentiates herself with her intelligence.

She knows healthy is beautiful, living happily is beautiful and having a great personality is beautiful and she works honestly on these things instead of going for artificial means to attain her beauty.   How can you not respect such an awesome girl?   Despite being so sunshine, she has no pigmentation or signs of sun aging on her, awesomely healthy lady!

I  have just finished Secret Garden today and I have to say that Ha Ji Won  looked incredible in the drama. Was just so captivated. It is just like  JW in the drama, she sticks to the mind.

Her outfit in the above picture is really nice as well.

It is too bad I haven't seen her previous works but I will most likely be watching Hwang Jini.

Does  anyone notice in this video clip, @1:15 when the interviewer teased HJW  about her legs, she did the same expression like how Gil Ra Im did to  Kim Ju Won... Now I understand why she said Ra Im is a character that  resembled her the most. Haha.

I was just flipping through Dramabeans' old Hajiwon articles and came across her interview for her movie "Haeundae" a couple of years ago and for you guys who've been curious about what Hajiwon's ideal type is, here's what she had to say ( 2 years ago):

What is your ideal type?

I don’t think I have one. I like amusing things, so when the director or friends see an amusing person, they tease me, saying, “That’s Ji-won’s ideal man.” The feelings are what’s important — I don’t have a set ideal.

A totally unconventional answer but I like it anyway. (this being two years ago, I don't know if it's still the same now and it's certainly different to the that other article where Hajiwon said her ideal type is that soccer player.... Forgot his name.... Or maybe it isn't so different?)
