Big Bang's Taeyang makes a splash in Hollywood

Famous K-Pop artist Taeyang of the group Big Bang recently arrived in Los Angeles to hone in on his dancing craft by taking various dance classes. Before focusing on the classes, Taeyang was given a bit of the Hollywood treatment by dining out with Shaun Evaristo, Aimee Lucas and the Movement Lifestyle family at the famous Nobu Restaurant on Saturday.

Last night, Taeyang was able to take in a little of the Hollywood nightclub scene as promoter TK Nguyen personally escorted Taeyang to Drai's Hollywood at the W Hotel. For one of the hottest music artist in Asia, this was a great start for Taeyang to learn from the best as he shared the dance floor with celebrity hip hop dancers from the web series "The LXD" and Lindsey Blaufarb of the female b-girl group The Beat Freaks.

Taeyang stood on the sidelines of the cypher (dance circle) for a moment observing the flips, tricks and moves that one would see at the best b-boy competition in the world before joining in.

Taeyang is definitely on a good start with his drive to polish his moves learning from the best dancers and choreographers in Hollywood.

[NEWS] IU fulfilled her promise to feature in Seungri's song (110112)

Seungri of BIGBANG is going to release his new mini album on 20th and the song that IU featured has aroused attention.

In the announcement made by YGE on 10th, Seungri is going to release hs mini album on 20th and on 13th, the teaser of 'So What' will be revealed. On 20th, the MVs of the two title songs will be disclosed too.

There are totally 7 songs in the album and Seungri has participated in composing lyrics and melodies for most of the songs. The 5th song, 'I know' is a song which he collaborated with the rising star, 'IU'.

IU has collaborated with Seolong of 2am to sing 'Nagging' and other singers which have all topped the music charts so she is on the top list of singers' duet partners.

The spokeman said,'3 years ago, when IU debuted, she met the members of BIGBANG in some occasions and they got to know each other quite well. At that time, Seungri said to IU, "if I carry out solo activities, let's sing a song together.' And he further elaborated, 'When we think of the partner of Seungri for this song, most of us thought IU would be the perfect one and she has to fulfill the promise too.'

When IU is singing in a Duet song, her beautiful vocal will match with the voice of her partners perfectly. Seungri also praised that she has a very special and beautiful voice. The spokeman said, ' This is not a song in which we put a coarse voice and a beautiful voice together but it delivers you a new combination of two stunning voice. Therefore, a very amazing song which can freshen you was produced.'

On the other hand, Seungri has also tried to compose his own lyrics for this album in order to be a composing singer. Yang Hyun Seok, the president of YGE complimented this album and showed his expectation on it too. Seungri will start his promotion with 'VVIP' and 'So What'.

[NEWS] G-Dragon, "I have to check what friends Seungri got" (110112)

GDTOP has showed how good orators they can be in variety shows in SBS 'Night after Night' which was aired on 10th.

When asked about why he has to check the messages that Seungri receives, GD said, "I am afraid that he would make mistakes and I don't know why I am worried although we live together."

Then, he elaborated, "there was once when we went out to play, that was when Seungri has just be been admitted into university, I checked the photos in his phone. Then I knew that he had a lot of good looking friends. Taeyang joked that Seungri should introduce a girl to him. After we had said that, Seungri started sending message to the girl very swiftly." Everybody was curious after GD told this story.

After grabbing his phone back from GD, Seungri took a cute picture of himself and sent it to that girl. GD then saw him receiving a message in which she said ,'I really want to bite you.'

GD further explained, "it is okay if the story ended here; however, Seungri sent back 'you can bite me for sure to her afterwards. For the sake of preventing such kind of stuff from happening again, I have to check his messages from time to time." Everybody bursted into laughter after hearing his account.

Big Bang’s new album to contain rock music?

Big Bang’s leader G Dragon was excited when he talked about their new album which is going to be released.

The 5-member idol group BIGBANG will come back to Korea music industry in February with a brand new album. After the album released in November, 2008, it has been 2 years and 3 months that they restart their group activities.

When G dragon was meeting the reporter of Star News and he said they have already entered the final stage of production of their CD and they are making use of their spare time to put finishing touches to the CD.

G Dragon further elaborated , ‘because we know it is our music that our fans like most but not the dance; therefore, at this time, we are making music which can attract people of all ages and they are comfortable too.’

G Dragon said that their new album will tend to contain more Rock songs and BIGBANG will access various kinds of music as well.

In the new album, we can expect to find out songs sung by all five of them instead of their solos or duets. And they will be focusing on the domestics activities in this year with a view of meeting more local friends through a variety of activities.

does this mean more OBSESSION, OH MOM and SHE'S GONE kind of songs for Big Bang, except maybe it'll be less heavier? i am very excited about this. since BB popularized electropop/hiphop in kpop, it's just been everywhere... so if BB decides to switch gears this time and go for a more ROCK influenced album.. id be more than happy! they've been so great in fusing different genres and adding their own flavor to it and GTOP has done a good job so far... so im really excited about this. Rock is also not the most popular genre and except for some poprock idols in the mainstream, the genre is pretty much untapped. maybe its about time BB starts a new trend, yes?

also, its soooo good to see them all together again. and is it just me.. coz MAKNAE's aura is just GLOWING in that vid. he looks so happy and ready for his comeback. he looks so good!!! YB is so happy too... was probably excited for his US trip then.
