Official Seohwa/용서/Yongseo Sweet Potato Couple Thread 1 ♥

I’ve been really busy with work & business trips, but I need to put something out here to represent the many ‘guy’ gogumas (guy-gomas?!).

I thought I already posted this once, when I first joined soompi, but I couldn’t find the original post so I’ll do my best to recreate it.

I first became interested in YongSeo through my daughter who loves dancing and who also has a rather eclectic taste in music – she doesn’t listen to ‘mainstream’ rock & roll, but finds music she likes from interesting groups on Youtube and then buys their CD’S or buys their music through ITUNES. 

She ran across SNSD by mistake and instantly liked their music but also their dance routines.   She started playing their music in her room and would often dance to their routines.  I would pass by her room and hear this music in a very strange language and wonder what the heck she was listening to now, because I actually liked what I heard, I just couldn’t understand it!   This was just after RDR came out –so that was the first SNSD movie video I watched.  My daughter started filling me in on the background of SNSD and telling me about the different members, and I started watching ‘Gee’ and ‘Oh’ and ‘Chocolate Love’ and the many other movie videos that SNSD had out on Youtube with English subtitles.  I really liked the music, but was entranced by the intricacies of their dance routines.

I really didn’t notice Seohyun at all, she always seemed to exist somewhere in the background, always out-talked and out-shone by her unnies.  I was aware she was the youngest, but other than that she really didn’t impress me as anything special.

Then I ran across an episode of We Got Married that had Seohyun in it on Youtube – it was the one where Yong and Hyun give blood at the blood bank.  I was intrigued, so I began hunting down other episodes and managed to find episode one.  Once I watched the sweet awkwardness of Yong and Hyun and realized just how innocent and pure Seohyun really was, I was hooked!  That first episode really intrigued me because here was the seemingly sexy, hot rocker dude hooked up with the innocent fair maiden!  I was wondering how he was going to get anywhere with this inexperienced and shy young girl, who seemed to be rigidly fixed in her ‘I hate boys – but love gogumas’ world.

I didn’t know Yong or CN Blue, but through WGM came to like him very much, especially the way he bent over backward to accommodate his shy and innocent wife.  I also began to like the other members of CN Blue and also their music, so after awhile I was not only a Goguma but a Sone and a BOICE!

As I watched all the episodes I found Sweet Potato Days and then the YongSeo Soompi thread.  I found a whole international community who were deeply in love with this young couple.  And soon, I became deeply in love with them, also.  I’ve watched all the episodes, some over and over again, and spazzed over the development of the relationship with these 2 along with my daughter.  We have watched a beautiful relationship between polar opposites turn into a couple who fit so well TOGETHER!

But, while watching YongSeo’s relationship evolve, the feeling of ‘first love’ seemed to permeate their experiences together, all the happiness and laughter and excitement of discovery was there, especially for Seohyun who experienced so many ‘firsts’ over the past year!

Also, it took me back to a time when I first experienced the excitement of ‘first love’.  Back when I was a much younger man,  just starting college.  I met a girl that became my ‘first love’.   Not the usual casual relationship where you date someone for awhile just to see what they are like and break up soon after, not the usual relationship young people fall into when they were that age.  This girl, to me, at that time, was ‘the one’.   The first girl I couldn’t stand to be away from, the first girl I thought I might want to spend the rest of my life with.  She was actually a lot like Seohyun – innocent in love and relationships with guys, but smart, multi-talented (she could play piano and guitar) - and also thought that most guys were just pretty gross.

She was pretty, but not beautiful in the classic sense.  Her beauty came from within, in the way she talked, in the way she moved, in the way she laughed, the sound of her laugh, the look in her eyes when she talked to you.

Our relationship was slow, every step took a long time, trust had to build and I was ready to wait for her to finally love me.  And she finally did, and believe me her love was worth waiting for, because it was strong and unshakable.

We were steady boyfriend and girlfriend all through college, and even though there were other girls I met who were more attractive or sexy, she was always ‘the one’ and ‘only one’ because we had built a relationship on trust and mutual respect.   I would have jumped in front of a train for her, and she would have done the same for me.

After college, I enlisted in the Army and while I was on assignment overseas she met someone new and interesting.  Even though she tried to stay true to me, I was gone for most of four years.  By the time I returned from service, she was already engaged.  The distance and time apart was more than both of us could overcome.  I was heartbroken, but I never hated her for it, that was just the way things turned out.  We are still good friends today and I count her husband as one of my good friends.

I went through a period of wildness, partying too much and meeting too many woman who just wanted to have a good time with me.  I married and divorced twice, never quite getting the same feeling of permanence and commitment that I had known with ‘the one’ - that first true love.

Finally, I met someone who met and exceeded my expectations for a lifelong partner, we’ve been married for 25 years, have 2 children a wonderful life and marriage and we are still in love with each other.

But watching these two, Yong and Hyun, takes me back to those innocent, wildly exciting and heart pounding days of my youth, with my ‘first love’ and my first romance.  They make my heart melt with those same old feelings, but these feelings are for them, not for me.  I wish and pray that their love will remain true and that they will follow their hearts and search their minds to realize what a relationship like the one they have is worth.  It is worth far more than all the fame and fortune they can have in life.  Because, if there is no one special person to share your success (and failures) with, it all means nothing and has no worth.  Yong and Hyun, only you know your true hearts, but if what all your gogumas feel is happening to your hearts is true and you become a real couple, there is not one person here who wouldn’t support you in your relationship.  For every ‘anti’ there is probably 5 fans who strongly support you being together, so go for it – reach for the total happiness that could be yours!  Be real, become  a couple in love!

thoroughly enjoyed every single episode of this couple, but if i'm to pick the top one it would be ep. 27 with the double birthday celebration. it was the first time i felt that i was intruding to their privacy and their private conversation…can't help but fall in love with yong and hyun who genuinely expressed their feelings in this episode…shyness, speechlessness, happiness, etc. loved how hyun stuttered and how yong was dumbfounded with hyun's present. he thought he had her figured out.

Hi everyone! I've decided to start my day today with my first post in this thread. I've been lurking for more than 10 mths coz I promise myself I'd do it on my birthday.

 

 

 

 

 

First of all thanks to every good soul and goguma lovers that have contributed in making everyone in go-chun continously bond and spazz uri yongseo couple. Seriously there's too many of you to name. I'm not complaining though. It's all for the love we have for them.

 

 

 

 

 

There's too many spazz worthy episodes to choose from but I think the one that stood out for me is Episode 27. Aside from the obvious I think it was the first episode that truly gave us a sign that the line between reel and real had become blurred for them. The rest is history as we know from the following episodes. It's a privilege that we can watch them bloom and grow in front of us

 

 

 

 

 

Last but not least my wish for them.... I hope that they become real. If not now maybe years down the road when they are ready. Even if they don't, I hope that they look at this experience together and remember their relationship and the joy they had given their fans especially in-go-paem the giddiness of their first love experience.

After read through your post, I'm nearly cry for your story of  how you get to know our beloved YongSeo and what's so touchy is the fact that you are a man. Most of us know that men don't like to describe thing in writing but with your long post   , I can see how much you fall in love with our YongSeo. I'm just so glad that our quiet maknae and playful leader receive a lot of love from all gender and age like you and your daughter. Anyway happy 1 year ann YongSeo couple! I'm a sone and aigoo, our dear maknae has grown up so much to become a woman. You can see it even if you're not a fan of her. Yonghwa has brought out this side of maknae that I bet us SNSD fans have to wait for ages if we were to see it. So thank you so much to Yonghwa!!! I like maknae even more now and I think she's a great role model to youngsters out there. You guys don't have to worry about antis and haters. They'll always be there. You don't gain millions of fans without getting some haters. i've stumbled upon yongseo couple last June, when i was watching SNSD leader WGM stint, and seen Seohyun's WGM link.... and completely hook after the 1st episode. and thanks to google i found this most awesome place upon searching for yongseo related site.

i would like to give a BIG, BIG thanks to everyone who always give fast translations, link to videos, awesome subbers, the never ending different POV's, fanfics, up to date yongseo news , pics, others...

Just because of I feel that it encapsulates what marriage really is. A marriage is essentially a duet. It's a sum of the parts of two different wholes, who each bring a more beautiful transformed whole. When they played "Falling Slowly" together, bringing both their experiences (Hyun's limited ones, as admitted) as individuals into a simple, heartfelt, somewhat-private (relatively) performance, it really was a meeting and the beginning of a journey.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I fell into "We Got Married" season 2, and Yong-hwa and Seo Hyun as a pair in particular, by accident. It will be a long-winded story to tell, but I think suffice to say, I watched the episodes out of sequence. This particular scene, was perhaps one of the very first, if not the first one I've ever seen. You know, I don't watch TV. I tend to lose interest in things rather quickly. So, when I look back at the past year, I'm really amazed at how much this couple had consistently entertained and charmed me. IDK, I feel like I randomly stubled upon it on Youtube. And now I love Yonghwa and Seohyun and I'm SNSD fan and a C.N.Blue fan and I'm into K-Pop and I don't really know how it happened. I'm Hispanic and I live in the US. I know like 7 Korean phrases.
