The 7th annual 2012 Seoul Drama Awards is receiving considerable attention from drama fans for various dramas from all over the world. Actors and actresses from the nominated dramas will gather together to entertain the audience.

 

Voting for actors and actresses is as popular as the other categories, including, choosing best drama, actor, and actress. There are 77 actors and 66 actresses, nominated from Korea, China (Hong Kong), Japan, and Taiwan. You can vote for one actor and actress from each country.

 

Park Yoo Chun, who was voted the most popular Korean actor last year, is a powerful nominee this year as well. Lee Min Ho, who showed off his manly charms in City Hunter, and new Hallyu stars, such as Kim Su Hyun and Lee Seung Gi, will compete fiercely against each other for the prize. Frontrunners for the prize include Ha Ji Won, a highly trusted commodity when it comes to dramas and movies, Han Ga In, who was loved in Moon Embracing the Sun, and Han Ji Min, who appeared on Rooftop Prince with Park Yoo Chun.

Other nominated actors and actresses include, Nicky Wu, who was selected as the ‘Winner of the Year’ with Lee Min Ho by Chinese Hunan TV’s Sina Entertainment, and Kevin Cheng, Cecilia Liu, and Cristy Guo, who all appeared on Each Step Escape. Beautiful actress Fala Chen from Hong Kong and Wu Myolie and Sunny Chan, who appeared on historical series Curse of the Royal Harem / Ghetto Justice are also nominated.

 

LiLi Pan from Taiwan has received the Popularity Prize from the 3rd Seoul Drama Awards. She and talented actor Chen Nan Tsai and Eli Shih, who appeared on Garden of Life with Chen Nan Tsai, will round out the competition for the Popularity Prize.

Toshiro Yanagiba, who appeared on Shoe Shine Boy, the Grand Prize winner at the 2010 Seoul Drama Awards, will also challenge for the prize. Shihori Kanjiya, who showed off a different side in Father of the Bride: The Sounds of Snow with Toshiro Yanagiba is also nominated. Lots of actors and actresses are waiting for votes from their fans.

Since the Popularity Prize is an index of interest, it is very special to actors and actresses just like the Best Acting Prize. Please vote for your favorite actors and actresses to help them to receive the prize.

Kim Soo Hyun voted for the hottest star of the first half of the year: “Do you agree?”

Recently, actor Kim Soo Hyun was selected as the hottest star of the first half of 2012.

From the 21st to the 27th of June, the music website Monkey 3 conducted an online survey with the question, “Which star was the best for the first half of the year 2012?” As a result, Kim Soo Hyun from MBC’s drama series The Moon that Embraces the Sun ranked at the top with 22% approval rating, 81 votes out of 375 in total.

Through his previous works Jungle Fish and Dream High, he has improved on his acting skills then successfully portrayed the character King Lee Hwon in The Moon that Embraces the Sun. He even raised “Kim Soo Hyun fever” and became known as the best actor of all TV series.

On the other hand, Busker Busker, the band which swept all the top rankings on music charts with every song it released, ranked second with 18% and Shin Bora from KBS 2’s Gag Concert-Braves Guys third with 16%.

Miss A’s Suzy followed the rankings with 16% for her movie Introduction to Architecture and became known as the first love of all Koreans. Fifth and sixth went to comedian Kim Jun Hyun for his buzzword “Is that so?” and Yoo Joon Sang for his excellent acting skills as a representative husband of all Koreans in KBS 2’s Unexpected You with 15% and 13% approval ratings respectively.

Moving Statues Prank Stars at the 20’s Choice Awards

Plenty of stars stepped on the blue carpet, looking beautiful, at the 20’s Choice Awards on June 28.

In order to loosen the tension and nervousness of the award ceremony, Mnet’s Wide Entertainment News played a prank on the stars by installing two moving statues at the stars’ path and caught the entire thing on camera.

Let’s take a look!

Jo Jeong Seok who was first to encounter the statues was completely surprised - so were Lee Sang Min, Yeo Jin Gu, 2PM’s Wooyoung and Han Hye Jin.

Byun Jung Soo was especially freaked out by the creepy dudes, even when she noticed them from the distance.

Eugene and Lee Jae Hoon seemed to know what was going and didn’t show any shock as they nonchalantly continue walking with smiles on their faces.

But the funniest reaction of all was Kim Soo Hyun, who was totally and completely caught off guard when the statues tried to interview him that he couldn’t find any words to say to the microphone. The look of bewilderment on his face is money.

Kim Soo Hyun becomes center of attention at the Japan promotion for MBC drama, "The Moon that Embraces the Sun."

On July 4, Kim Soo Hyun was seen at the preview and press conference event in Tokyo for the soon-to-air drama, "The Moon that Embraces the Sun" on Japan's satellite channel, KNTV.

At the special preview event that was held over two days at the Tokyo Korean Culture Hall, Kim Soo Hyun stood as an Asia-wide star in front of his countless fans.

100 reporters were seen at the press conference following the premiere, making the topic an even hotter one to cover.

The first two episodes of "The Moon that Embraces the Sun" will air on Japan's satellite channel KNTV this month with the full airing due in August.
