‘The Producers’ Final Episodes: Who Will Kim Soo Hyun Kiss In The End?

Kim Soo Hyun Press Conference

Korean drama "The Producers" is wrapping up this week. It began with the intention to show the lives of the people working at a variety division of a broadcast channel but since has taken a detour. Now it is another regular romantic-comedy, following the set pattern of a majority of Korean dramas. The romance, however, has not been fully explored, as the writers have still to reveal the one true pairing (OTP) and show the sweet romantic moments involving them. The main characters of the "The Producers" have been going through the emotional roller-coaster ride of a one-sided love.

Ye Jin made it quite clear early in the show that she likes her best friend of 20 years, senior PD Ra Joon Mo (Cha Tae Hyun). Joon Mo has been giving mixed singles. He does not want Ye Jin to go from his life, but at the same time, he does not want to admit that he likes her too.

Rookie PD Baek Seung Chan (Kim Soo Hyun) entered KBS's variety division because of his high-school crush who was working there. The crush, however, soon disappeared from the scene, and Seung Chan started to fall for a much senior PD Tak Ye Jin (Gong Hyo Jin). The latter developed a close bond of friendship with Seung Chan but failed to read what his heart wants. She found that out in the last episode, and the rookie took a giant step forward by kissing her on the lips while they were sitting on the swings.

Meanwhile, popular pop-singer Cindy (IU) has been quite open about her feelings for Seung Chan. She made the first move and kissed him, but Seung Chan has shown no romantic interest in her.

The final episode may either give us the OTP or end on an ambiguous note with an open ending. The ball, however, is in Ye Jin's court. She is in the hot seat and has to decide whether to continue waiting for her friend to reciprocate her feelings or open the door for new love.

And the question that every fan of Kim Soo Hyun is asking, "Who will he kiss in the end?

Fans of Kim Soo Hyun's Producer are probably stunned to be reminded that the popular drama is ending on June 21. While the anxiety level is rising fast along with anticipation, the production team announced that the ending is being kept a secret.

Not only is the ending kept a secret, but the script for the ending episodes was just completed on Wednesday, June 17. Wow!

While K-drama fans are experienced with the possibility of unexpected endings, the intrigue involving the ending, or future, of the 4 main leads is keeping us on the edge of our seats as if Producer were an action thriller.

What happens to Seung Chan's (Kim Soo Hyun) love confession to Ye Jin (Gong Hyo Jin)? Will it be reciprocated? How will Joon Mo (Cha Tae Hyun) react? Will he finally show his true feelings? And of course, for the fans on Team Cindy, we really want Cindy (IU) to reach her happy ending too. Or will it be an open ending? (Catch up with our drama club's hilarious recap and predictions HERE.)

The unique concept and plot have certainly pushed Producer to high ratings. Episode 10 reached 14.6% nationwide viewership in South Korea on June 14, and 15.4% for viewers in Seoul. The drama has consistently stayed high on DramaFever's Weekly Top 10 Most Watched Dramas list ever since its first episode.

In the meantime, KBS has announced a behind-the-scenes special on June 26. (Isn't the entire drama series a behind-the-scenes special already?) According to an affiliate of the drama, expect to see "different sides of Kim Soo Hyun, IU, Cha Tae Hyun, and Gong Hyo Jin that weren't shown in the drama." That does sound exciting!

So stayed tuned, and check your episode alerts for Producer from DramaFever!

10 Korean Actors Unlikely To Be Cast as Villains

because they have such a good image. Sucks to be known as the good guy.

SBS’ weekly entertainment news show, “One Night of TV Entertainment,” aired a special segment yesterday, June 17, on K-drama and movie villains and the actors who play them. Through an online survey it conducted, “One Night” collected answers from 1,300 men and women on which Korean celebrity they thought would not match up with a villainous role. Here are the top 10.

(skipped unrelated.....)

2. Kim Soo Hyun

Remember the sweet but bumbling Song Sam Dong in “Dream High” and his current role, Baek Seung Chan, in “Producer”? They’re quite similar to his natural, awkward self, and the way his eyes become crooked when he smiles makes him an unlikely candidate for evil roles.

'Producer' Is Closely Guarding The Romantic Endings

BY Adrienne Stanley

'Producer' will has kept its ending undercover.

(Photo : KBS)

On June 17, Ilgan Sports published an article which announced that the final episodes of "Producer" were being filmed on a delayed schedule, preventing the release of spoilers. According to the report, episode 11 had not been taped by June 17.

A representative for the KBS drama provided further details. "The script for the ending scenario has not come out, yet," said a member of the production team. "[We] are currently finishing with shooting episode 11."

"Producer" continues to generate buzz, as the 12-episode series draws to an end. In episode 10, Baek Seung Chan (Kim Soo Hyun) shocked Tak Ye Jin (Gong Hyo Jin), when he kissed her to confess his feelings.

Some audiences harbored hope for a relationship between Seung Chan and Cindy (IU), was their potential appeared to be completely squashed by the ninth episode. Viewers are also curious about the development of the 25-year friendship of Ye Jin and Ra Joon Mo (Cha Tae Hyun), further complicating the love lines from a triangle to a square.

A report published by OSEN examined the potential for the drama to yield awards, due to the strong acting demonstrated by its talented cast. OSEN also noted that the series will conclude with a shorter span of episodes than what is normally expected from Korean dramas.

The series premiered with a unique shooting style, reminiscent of docu-dramas such as "The Office" or "Parks and Recreation." However, "Producer" began to adapt to a more traditional K-Drama format. Ratings for the drama continue to climb with the series recording an all-time high of 14.6 percent, in its last broadcast.

The drama has continuously kept fans at the edge of their seats, due to its ambiguous love lines. "Producer" concludes its 12-episode run on June 20.

Drama 'Producer' to extend its last two episodes into 90 minute episodes

CH1zDbFUcAAzu-X.jpg

If you've been keeping up with KBS drama 'Producer', you would have noticed the episodes are longer than the typical 60 minute episodes for Korean dramas. Their episodes usually clock in around 80 minutes each. Which makes up for the fact that the drama will only have 12 episodes, instead of the typical 16 for mini-series.

But there's good news as the last two episode are said to be extended an extra 10 to 15 minutes for a total of 90 minutes each!

On June 19, a KBS representative stated the 11th and 12th episodes of 'Producer' will be extended episodes. The episodes will begin airing at the same time, and the TV shows following 'Producer' will accordingly air a bit later than usual.
