I prefer hairstyles where he showed his forehead. More mature looking. Fringe like that makes him looks more boyish and younger i guess. Actually, both also not bad.. i duno what i, rambling about.

Me too! Like this but black! thogh I always think he prefers fringe down and lighter color.

hello~~~~ I'm the late newcomer from THB thread and a silent lurker here for some times hehe:tongue: it's nice to see the thread more active than before:D thank you @rachelyun for keeping the thread updated and I really enjoy your updates on YSY, in the thread and on instagram hahaha, I think I get a daily dose of YSY everytime I open my ig account:wub: a dose of YSY a day to keep the doctor awayB)

just a short introduction from me : I became a fan of YSY in 2016 but I can't remember how I became a fan. I think it was 1n2d that led me to YSY, or maybe his comeback drama MotW which I love so much and still watch, honestly I don't know lol because I'm not an avid fan of 1n2d too I just enjoyed some episode which usually involved cooking or chefs. I knew him before for sure since I watched some episodes of barefooted friend and actually liked him in PMaI but never really followed him. Until 2016 when I became a fan and watched his dramas and movies (after MotW finished) and never miss 1n2d every weekend (or Monday since the sub video uploaded that day). I honestly want him to do sageuk again because he looks sooooo goooooood in MotW (except in the doctor robe + that hat at the end of the episode) I have a soft spot for sageuk. But I bet he'll be good in whatever drama he does because he always try his best^_^ Until he does another drama, I'll just enjoy the innocent, cute, sometimes naughty, but always a hardworker - Donggu in 1n2d:wub: and I love when they exposed his body like in the latest ep of 1n2dB)

the introduction isn't as short as I thought it'd be:tongue:

and @rachelyun I love the HeoJun banner(?)

@hyuuhikari i totally agree about exposing his body! :o:lol::ph34r: actually, now while he still have his buffed up body from TBH drama prep, 1N2D production team should exploit it more and make them go swimming or do water activities that requires them to take off their t-shirts! Haahaha. Plus its so hot in summer, it would be cooler to stay in water. Lol. I feel like a pervert for saying such things.. but that nice body should be appreciated as much as possible no? Hahahahaha. Dont let his efforts go to waste!

Im bored and missing YSY. -_- Meanwhile, lets get some discussion rolling. Who would you like to see casted as YSY's next leading lady and what genre of drama/film would you prefer him to take up next? Haha.

I really enjoyed his comedy/rom com, so although it would be nice for him to try out different roles, i still prefer comedy/rom com genre the best. I dont wana cry too much with a melo. Some action might be nice, but im not really a fan of action... im a girl after all... hahahaha.. and i dont like horror ().

As for leading ladies, i liked the 1D2N ep with Kim Yoo Jung. I think they look good together.. but Yoo Jung is kinda young huh? Haha. Maybe Han Hyo Joo? LOL. That'll get all the other 1N2D members jealous. Hahahaha. Esp JJY. What a tease it would be. Lol. ^_^

Hopefully again this thread gets loud and noisy .. . seems our Mr. Yoon finally could do his best hit ... Welcome newcommers, so happy you are here ... really I enjoy reading your comments and discussions ...

seems Yoonie's majic spell gets activated again and many new fans go under his special effect ... The Effect Of Yoon Si Yoon ...

At first I started liking him as Enrique Geum in FBND but under his magic spell I changed to a bias fan that never I don't expect this change of myself about anyone... :D

I think even the nature loves him , so it looks more beautiful when he is there ...

What about  fantasy romance Hwayugi from Hong sisters’? Since Park Bo-Gum turned down proposed role it's a vacant for now. I like the description. From dramabeans:

Quote

The fantasy drama is a reimagining of the Chinese classic novel Journey to the West, called Seoyugi in Korean, but modernized for a contemporary setting. In the original tale, a monk goes on a journey with four companions who need to atone for their sins. Among them, Sun Wukong the Monkey King is the most mischievous and troublesome, a minor god who is powerful and quick-witted but also quick to anger, and has a great deal to overcome and atone for

Quote

In the modernized drama retelling, the heroine will be the monk character, and the drama is about her and Sun Wukong “finding the light in a dark world overrun with evil spirits.” The monk is described as snobby and materialistic, while Sun Wukong is corrupt. He was extremely powerful, but because of his pride, his powers were sealed up and he was exiled to the human world, where he became a bystander who does nothing but idly watch people fall to ruin. One day he discovers that the monk can unseal his powers, and they end up bickering their way to love.

Quote

The drama is said to be a mix of horror, thriller, comedy, and romance, not to mention that it’ll be adapting some of the fantasy mythology of Journey to the West

I don't know about scrtipt quality of course and the reasons why Bo-Gum  turned it down. But from all genres of k-dramas I think I prefer fantasy romance most. Always liked bits of mythology here and there and fantastic elements as well :)

@Irly oh gosh! I hope not!!!!! I dislike all 'retelling' stories. They are such a bore because i have watched the original story, i dont need a retelling in Korean version, or Japanese version, or Chinese version, etc. Recently there seems to be a lot of 'retelling' stories... like Scarlet Heart Ryeo, Boys over Flowers, To the Beautiful You, Playful Kiss, The Time We Were Not In Love, etc... so many... and i dint watch any of them. Never intend to. Furthermore, Journey to the West is the most retold story ever in Chinese history. We really dont need a Korean version.

Hong Sisters are quite popular writers, but duno why they are degrading themselves with a retelling. Luckily PBG rejected that drama. It already sounded like a flop. I hope YSY doesnt do it.  I maybe too prejudiced, but i always feel nothing can ever beat the original story, and i think many people are of the same thoughts. Better to avoid a 'remake' because its always difficult to be better than the original, and comparison is inevitable.

Original stories are the best. Something new and creative. Like how TBH is! MOTW, FBND and Kim Tak Gu are all awesome storylines, original and creative. Dont need to resort to a 'retelling'.

Personally, even Kim Eun Sook's Mr Sunshine doesnt sound appealing to me... but she's courting a different actor, so dont care. Lol. Kim Eun Sook maybe famous writer as well, but i think she sometimes have writer's slump as well i suppose...

edit: this webtoon sounds pretty cool though... food porn and PBY. YSY would look good at eating... hahaha.

Of course I don't insist on this project, it's merely an example of what genre and kind of role I would like. Fantasy, mythology, romance, some comedy, a bit of action and touch of thriller - I think that almost ideal cocktail for me :) And talking about characters - I like when they in grey area, not good, not bad. And I generally like tricksters :)

As for remakes.... I feel you here :) For the most times I hate remakes. I'm talking about direct ones mostly. Btw, saw the trailer to the american remake of "Good Doctor" and it looked completly misplaced. But when it comes to remakes, or mayby it's best to say "loosely adaptation" - sometimes we could see something good. As per discussed Hong Sister project. From what I read about it I could understand that this is the case. Loosely adaptation with some characters from original story and somewhat common mythology. It could be good, it could be horrendous - I don't know. But I not turned away only because it bears remake elements. In this case we mustn't never watch any new book adaptations - why, when previous was so good! Numerous sisters Bronte adaptation (and I agree - there just too many!), numerous tv and movie projects after Jane Austen books. Agatha Christie, Conan Doyle, Dickens, not to mention Shakespeare himself :)) And so on and so on.

But for now, despite how much I like any fantasy-romantic mix, I will be good with any genre for YSY. My only wish - it must be damn good! With script, setting, character development etc. And I want happy end for his hero :) It's just too many sad things in real life, so I want that at least in dramaworld there will be something good and optimistic :)

I'm the bad fan who wants a heavy melodrama, a superheavy one, with lots of anger, revenge and tears! I want a dark Shiyoon!! I want to see him suffering and angry with life, a strong character looking for revenge!! haha :naughty:

Nah! he already said he wants positive roles that can inspire young people, as long as he's young! But he never gets old!

YSY is so positive and lively. I think he suits positive roles well too. Its just like himself! Haha.

roles like Kim Tak Gu, Dabong/YHJ, Enrique Geum... all gave positive messages! Its probably what drives him too. :D

he is a dokkaebi.. always look young! Immortal! Hahaha.

I think he would look good with PBY. Gosh! Both also so cute!  and PBY is good friends with CTH! The 1N2D bros are gona be jealous.. hahaha.

But that's why I want a dark Shiyoon. because he's the cutest and sweetest, but also an excellent actor, what would be better than a character where he can show his acting skills, the ones he has not been able to portray!

Yes to Park Bo Young, she's super cute! some years ago, there was rumor about both starring in a drama, but wasn't true or was cancelled, it was the remake of Jp drama "1 litre of tears" you already can imagine! Probably was not a good idea to have two cute puppies crying, hahaha

@blackberrypie i would love to see him in a detective/thriller drama..i think this genre is getting more appealing to knetz these days and he would look good in a suit with a clean cut hair...although we know that he is good in rom-com but i want to see a more serious side of him.i dont know if its just me,but he looks more handsome if he looks serious and in deep thought. :) Watched 1N2D raw,i think he looks cute but tired maybe because it was from while they were filming TBH

Hi. I also want to see more of YSY's acting after The Best Hit.

I kind of want him to do an action role or a villain role. I think everyone knows he can do melo really well, I'd like to see maybe a more repressed character and maybe a super tough/macho character that then slowly starts to reveal himself. HJ was already an amazing role in that regard. But I was thinking an even more extreme ahjussi character like they had in the 90s action films. Or comedy, I want him to do even more body comedy and situational comedy. That scene where he was outside the bathroom door when WS was in the shower, one face he pulled was exactly like 'pervert face' in mangas. It was amazing, I never thought people actually can pull that face, and I certainly didn't expect his face to be able to look like that. It really made me laugh. I just want to see many different things from him, and also roles that will help him get considered for parts that will be available for older men, since at some point he's bound to stop looking like he's 24, right? The twon HJs really were masterful. Usually you see characters who are really different, and while it's fun to see it and they always receive a lot of praise, I really enjoyed how he was able to create two distinct characters who at the same time were also so much the same character in all the right ways. I mean, I guess they're supposed to do it in any drama with character progression, but to film it back to back like that, and all the choices just really worked for me. I thought HJ should really realize how frustrating he can be to deal with : ) I'm not sure if it's bad for one's opportunities to play side characters, if it's not detrimental or if he doesn't mind it would also be fun if he could do a lot of cameos in different interesting characters. But for a lead role I want a role with a nice character arc like in the Best Hit. Unfortunately that's not so easy to come across, often the dramas are more just plot happening and less characters changing.. Maybe movies are better for that, but they take ages to come out.

I somehow get the sense he picks his roles based on some inner moral compass and sort of, wants to provide healing for the audience. So I don't really know what to expect from him. I tend to only enjoy healing from comedies and much less often from melos, but I'll give anything he goes for a shot at least.

Hi all ^^

I found this thread a few days ago after being silent lurker in the best hit thread, hehe. I completely fell for YSY after watching The Best hit, his character is sooo charming. But actually I knew YSY since m2f, it was my first YSY's drama, my impression about him at that time was so so, it's like "yes he's good actor but didn't attract me that much", maybe because of the story itself, don't get me wrong, I mean the story was good but only didn't give me deep impression. The second was FBND, I was a bit shocked after watching it because that was the first time I found a very unique character hero like Enrique in Kdrama land, he's too cuteee and adorableeee. YSY played Enrique sooo well, that was one of character amongs a fews characters that I still remember until now. Since then he became one of the actors that I paid attention of what the next project he would  take. But the problem is I can’t watch my fave actor becomes second lead in romance drama (it will be okay if it’s thriller or non romance) so I skipped MPAI, okay, I'm a narrow minded person if it comes to drama especially romance drama, I can't watch my fave actor doesn't get the girl, LOL.

I still haven’t watched baker kim takgu yet, because I never watch drama that has more than 20 episodes, except sitcom. I’m a fan of unstoppable high kick (HK season 1), so I tried to watch HK season 2, and quite excited when I found YSY was one of the cast, but I didn’t find it as funny as HK season 1 (it’s about preference though) so I haven’t continued it yet. Last year I knew YSY got saeguk project, and again the thing is I can count with my finger saeguk drama that I watched for all this time, hehehe. But after the best hit ended I don’t have any drama that I will watch, maybe I’ll try motw, but I’m still not sure because I heard that drama is soo dark, is it true??

Oh right, I watch 1n2d because of ysy, so at least I can watch him every weekend now eventhough the best hit already ended :D

About the next project, ofcourse I like him in romcom, he’s perfect on it. But I wanna him trying a different role and genre, like thriller and serious role maybe? with hairstyle showing his forehead and giving mature look, he's gonna be sexy and hot hero in drama, Lol. But if it’s romcom he will choose as his next project, yes I agree with @blackberrypie that the female lead I hope to be paired up with him is PBY, OH MY GOSH I can already imagine how cute and adorable they will be as a couple, ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Special thanks to @rachelyun, you're an amazing fan ^^

I agree with you... he looks gorgeous with serious character ....Siyoon is a versatile actor and one of his characteristics is that he loves challenging himself with new things , so I think he doesn't. Stick just to one genre of acting and will try various types ...B)

I like his cute face and gestures in comic roles , he looks so heartmelting , but he looks more heartfluttering when he shows his charismatic and serious face as in "Me too , Flower " or "Brand Guardians " ...

I hope he could have a remarkable project offer in which he shows a dif side of his talent ... for ex a role like James Bond with smart , serious but cool , reliable though mischievous , and highly romantic (I like this part the most  ) character...

Sorry I'm so naiive in film industry affairs as well as my shortage in english language , but just I have such taste because our talented prince inspires me in this way ...

what do you think about such face for his future project? Please you submit your favorit face of him in pics too...:)
