^ haha me too! The more the merrier!

I see so those are safety escorts... hmmmm now I'm wondering when OJH's character will know LDH's character... Will he be serving her once she claims the fake identity? or would he know that she was a slave and when he sees her as a member of nobility he'd something's off and he's be the only one who knows her secret... hmmmm interesting...

JCSF: Welcome! Finally Zio's fan in da house...hehehehe. He really does look very manly....my type of guy..lol.

BTW...you should probably remove image tags when you quote...don't want you to get warned by the mods ;)

hagrid: Okay...this is my speculation. Gosh can't believe we're doing speculations already...this is so reminiscent of Robbers speculation...hahaha.. Anyway my speculation is that when Ji Ho was running away (possibly injured?), Da Hae helped him. She was probably reminded of her own past. So he might have bunked at her house's storage room or something for a couple of nights.

Hi JCFS, thanks for showing interst in LDH, I am one of her passionate fans, eventhough not that active in her thread (my english limitation and not really good story telling, analysing things), if you interested, you can check her most famous drama MY GIRL then Green rose, Sweet 18, etc. But to warn you also, she got quite lots of anti fans recently, mostly contributed after East of Eden drama (on and off set of the drama). If you want to know further story about it you can check Dramabean blog, very intersting there-full of war and love.

or perhaps, jang hyuk was pursuing da hae, so the lady ran away and got injured, reached jiho's hideout, and jiho helped her.. and because jiho took up the identity as training instructor, he trained da hae to become muscular and both will fight unfairness and injustice towards servants.

^ LOL... training instructor? woOt! where did that come from? haha! so they'll be like the tandem that would protect slaves from evil rich men! haha

o-cha... speculations! I love it! haha! This is interesting... hmmm I was thinking she'll turn into an arrogant nobility once she claims the fake identity (that's usually the case in Filipino soap operas! haha)... but your speculation makes more sense (and is less cheesy BTW) haha... seeing her sufferings in the eyes of other slaves that would surely keep her grounded...

YAY for OJH-ers joining the thread!!! welcome you guys!

Omg omg omg omg omg omg omg

LEE JONG HYUK :D

Oh wow, Han Hyo Joo got replaced by Lee Da Hae? Haha, I'd have never expected that.

It's great cuz LDH & JH acted in "Robbers" together, LDH & LJH acted in "Green Rose" together too! & LJH is a villain once again :\ When will he ever get a leading row?! I'm quite disappointed /: He's a great actor, but he's like, given no recognition. But he plays an excellent villain, especially in "Hello, God" as doctor Park Dongjae ^^~! ANY LJH FANS HERE? (Besides me :()

& omg if this is shown on KBS2, "Chuno" might show in Singapore!! :D But I won't be in Singapore from October x_x

HOLLLLAAAA! BIG LJH fan in the hauz! I am actually still kicking "Rivals" for favoring Lee Jin Wook's character over his loveable, strong Gwan Pil! Please! I still think he deserves a lead! He's one amazing actor, and I am incredibly attracted to him.

hagrid: Okay...this is my speculation.

My speculation, and y'all know I speculate! And this is also based on their character descriptions. What makes sense to me is this:

Lee Da Hae's (if confirmed), Un Nyun character grew up under Dae Gil's (Jang Hyuk) family's rule ... she was enslaved to them since birth, since her parents are also their slaves. He is a nobleman but Dae Gil never saw her as an endentured servant but a woman he would love for the rest of his life. Growing up, they develop a relationship, but of course it was forbidden to fall in love with your master's son.

Around this era also is when a Manchu invasion is coming. This is when people capture their rivals and their rival's slaves. Un Nyun cannot risk going to another master, especially a rival who will be viscious to their race... so she runs away. And I'd assume no one wants to be a slave, even if your master's son is your boyfriend.

This breaks Dae Gil's heart. Dae Gil even gets into more tragedy when his family dies due to the Manchu invasion. So now he's dirt poor, no place to go, and angry. To get money, he becomes a slave hunter.

With Dae Gil's family's death... if everyone seemed dead... Un Nyun can simply assume that he's dead too, right?

For Un Nyun's escape plan, I think she runs away and takes a rich woman's identity. Whether it was mistaken identity or her stealing that identity... I would think she only came across being a nobleman's daughter... by chance. So, she transforms herself to Hye Won.

I'd think due to her history of being a slave... she would be an abolitionist or something close to that. She may help many slaves escape if they can. That's when she meets Song Tae Ha (Oh Ji Ho) a man wrongly accused of a crime, once a prime soldier now a poor slave running away from his death sentence.

She helps him, maybe even involve themselves in a slave revolt, etc. In the process, Tae Ha falls in love with Hye Won.

Now Dae Gil will be hired by Lee Jong Hyuk's character to capture Tae Ha and bring him down. So the slave hunter roams to find the slave.

So imagine the shock, when he sees his first love Un Nyun with Tae Ha. Imagine Un Nyun realizing that Dae Gil's alive. Imagine Tae Ha realizing that this rich girl is actually a slave in disguise.

My other speculations: Un Nyun will be in HUGE trouble for her disguise. HUGE. It's unheard of that a nobleman will simply adopt a slave for goodwill... I really doubt that's the case. They will catch her.

or I could be totally wroooooooong... and watch Un Nyun be a muscular slave revolter. Or have a JH-OJH bromance.

Your speculation makes sense imogene especially about Dae Gil and Un Nyun/Hye Won. It is a possibility that Hye Won/Un Nyun will join the slave abolitionist. One of the other characters that will be played by Gong Hyung Jin is supposed to lead the slaves to revolt. Oh no will we have a Da Hae- Gong Hyung Jin love line now?!

And yeah minah you're right according to the character description by DC KBS Tae Ha (Oh Ji Ho) will take on the identity of an instructor. So my guess is Tae Ha after escaping from slavery somehow managed to find employment as a taining instructor.

teukiie : I like LJH too. I too supported his character over Lee Jin Wook's in Rivals.

AYAY! LJH fan! heyyah! I LOVE LJH! I'm not his biggest fan but I really love him... It's more like I love to hate him because he usually plays the villain and he is darn well at it that you'd find yourself often cursing under your breath because of his evil deeds... I too think he deserves to be play the lead and I thought he WAS the lead in Rivals... haha I watched a few eps of the series but I couldn't stick it out even for LJH's sake... I mean that drama was just silly... From what little I've watched, I thought LJW's character was immature, CR's was ridiculous and LJH's was the only sane one in there...

GOSH! imogene... you've really wracked your brains around this! and LDH's not even confirmed yet or so they say... HAHA!!! But I love it! I love the tragedy of Un Nyun and Dae Gil's love affair! Can you just imagine when Un Nyun and Dae Gil meets again after she thought he was dead!? Ohhhh I can see LDH pulling this off I tell you! Remember Green Rose when she first saw GS again! It was heart-wrenching! She was soooo good in that scene that I had to grab my heart when I saw her (to quote Thunderbolt) "stunned tears" streaming down her cheeks... ehnyway! as I was saying LDH can pull this off beautifully, if ever!

And because I like to think that LJH would be obsessing on LDH (because I love to hate him that way)... I'm thinking he's setting his sights on her thinking that "oh... she's a beautiful lady of nobility"... So he was able to force himself into arranging a fixed engagement/marriage with Hye Won... So when he sees her being all affectionate and sweet with OJH that's when his blood boils and his hate for OJH's character peaked and asked that he be chased after and killed ASAP... thus, he hired Dae Gil and the drama ensues!

or I could be wayyyyyy off the mark... maybe JH and OJH WILL have the bromance! I'd like that! bromance F!T!W! ahaha! But, I have a feeling o-cha wouldn't like that! haha

a little bromance is acceptable.....as long as Dae Gil ends up with Hye Won at the end...though I have a feeling Tae Ha might be the one getting Hye Won at the end...

Though LDH isn't really 'confirmed'...nate/cyworld sure disregarded that and has already put Da Hae's name in the Chuno drama cast list...hehehehe. Kim Ji Suk and Lee Jong Hyuk's names are listed too so we should see them in the drama. Nate also has Chuno only as 2009 drama with no set airing date yet.

 That's like Green Rose.... just wearing costumes if LJH wants her too.

But I want LJH to be baaaaaaad again, I love him baaaad like that. All obsessed, all sexaaaay!!!1eleventy!

I am down for bromance. River scrubbing scenes, ftw. bring on the loofah.

o-cha- I have a feeling they all gon' die in the end. Or Hye-won dies in the end. I think she's some sort of political symbolism hehehe.

^ haha! I thought so too! It'll be like GR set in the 1500s! haha!

haiz I love it when LJH obsesses over a girl! there's a sparkle in his eyes that tell you "I always get what I want!"

haha again with the river scrubbing scene! haha! o-cha would have to dab some rubbing alcohol in her eyes if that ever happens!

NOOO! They can't die! or maybe they can as long as they give us some passionate kissing before they flatline! haha

o-cha... what's nate? is it a credible site or something? haha I have a feeling kmedia, like us, don't really believe Jtunes' "not yet confirmed" press release! haha

So we should all stock up on Tissue! Tissue! hahahahaha

It's been a while that there is a real melodrama....if they all die it would be quite impactful...but gosh will the scriptwriter dare to go that path? Or will this drama be totally 180 degrees opposite and all jokey and stuff?

Many people think Chuno will be more like Damo than Hong Gil Dong...let's hope that's true..hehehe. I couldn't bare to watch Hong Gil Dong..just too silly and jokey for me.

Edit: hagrid...nate is cyworld's search engine. They're quite trustworthy. I will put them right after naver and daum.

You know I might say I don't want any river scrubbing scenes..but when the scene actually materializes who knows I might be the biggest supporter. "Hyuk, you missed Ji Ho's back over there!" "Ji Ho, a little more to the right. There's still a dirty spot on Jong Hyuk's shoulder" hahahahahahahahahah

Okay, that Kim Ji Suk guy is damn familiar?

He was in that drama with Han Ji Hye right?

Another hotttieee

Where are all the OH-ers? We're calling you guys!

here I am, an Oh Ji-ho shipper ...this is his first Sageuk as well ... he almost got casted 4 years ago in SBS Seo Dong-yo but he backed out since he felt that he wasn't ready at that time and Ryu Jin replaced him...I hope he is also ready to take on the challenge like Lee Da-hae and he must be much more prepared now than ever also noticed that the other Zio babes are not yet here, I'll try to get them to post here ^^

Lee Jong-hyuk is one underrated actor...loved him in Hello! God and also looking forward to his performance here in Chuno

The director would be more DAMO than HGD...

but the writer is more HGD than DAMO.

So I don't know, however, the writer did say he's going a different route this time.

The director has a distinct style, he is not purely saeguk either, he mixes modern music, modern ideologies, and techniques in his "saeguks"... so it should be interesting.

For reference:

CHECK OUT ... the mood, the SONG choice, the cinematography, the sort of trendy take of character interaction... he's really good.

Oooooooh nicely done....me like! The use of modern songs and modern shooting technique worked really well in that scene. He really has an artistic flair. No wonder people are really excited about the PD.

Starting to see on DC KBS more female names attached to Chuno..but again don't know how accurate this is

Kim Ha Eun (she was in Conspiracy in the Court too)

623211.jpg

and Kim Min Joo (don't know which Kim Min Joo though...I'm guessing might be this one)
