SJS & LYJ were good friends. LYJ mentioned in the video clip she sent in to congratulate Jisuk's birthday fan meeting held in 2007 that she couldn't have phone conversations with Jisuk because Jisuk's in the army which has strict rules of using cell phone to make and receive phone calls.

This music video is made by Jisuk’s Japanese fan Izumi who attended SJS’s 2008 Birthday Fan Meeting.

In addition to the fan meeting, Jisuk’s Japanese fans also visited the KT (Korea Telecom) office building (i.e. the UT office building of “Pure 19”) and enjoyed Korean cuisines.

Jisuk’s manager didn’t invite reporters to the army site where Jisuk was discharged yesterday. Thus there were no news reports regarding the event. Likewise, actor Yu Hyun Soo (여현수) was discharged yesterday as well and there was no related news reports either. I will post photos here if I see any on Jisuk’s official fan club – Tasanjisuk.

Thank so much for your dedication for keeping the thread going... as I am a very very newbie fan of his... I am smiling like I owned the moon and stars when I found out he's releasing from the military like today!! the 5th? (during my time zone!!)

I become very fond of him after watching Pure 19, because I was quite interesting in Goo Hyesun. He didn't appeal too much but how he handled his character through YoonHo was excellent. He's quite talented and his killer smile with wrinkles around his eyes just totally melts my heart that I break out in a smile too. I loved how he was sooooo rude, ignorant and arrogant at the beginning and how Gwaka (Hyesunsshi) melts him alway with her Chinese/Korean dialect and bubbling spirited personality. The chemistry starts to sizzling for me when he helped her with the ceiling light bulbs. I just could not stop blushing and smiling when his cell phone was ringing and he's just there challenging her to reach in his breast pocket or was it his pant pocket??? (LOL), to answer for him. Total killer for me... I personally thought he wants her to smell him and hear his heartbeat!!

I was surprised to find out he's a newbie in the acting world. He came soo naturally and very experience. I am looking forward to his next projects!!!

I didn’t watch the DVD set of “Pure 19” until November of 2007. After I finished watching the drama, I really liked the drama, Suh Ji Suk, Goo Hye Sun, Lee Min Woo, and Lee Yoon Ji. Then I re-watched the drama for 2 more times. Oh! Boy! The more I watch the drama, the more I find SJS’s attraction like a magnet. :blush:

Then I searched internet for all of his news reports (I could read Korean news reports) and TV interviews from which I found out that he is a very nice and polite young man. Moreover, I visited his official fan club and found out that he is very sincere, friendly, straight-forward, humble, and humorous!! Overall, he his a real man with adorable personality and smiles!

Unlike most of Korean actors trying to delay their military services, he immediately enlisted in the army at the time when he was really popular around early 2007. Afterwards, in the army, he gave up as an “Entertainment Soldier” but instead chose to be an “Ordinary Soldier” serving at the front line. A very nice and genuine young man!

In addition to his personality, he was majoring in “Film” when he was a student of ‘Seoul Institute of the Arts’. He took classes with the famous director Kim Ki Duk who taught in that college. Director Kim Ki Duk asked Jisuk to perform in his 2 movies “The Bow” and “Time” as well as the music video for singer Lee Ji Hye’s song “I am without you.” That’s why we could see that Jisuk’s acting skill is quite good. I especially like his “subtle” acting style. He neither ‘over-act’ nor ‘under-act’, a very appealing natural acting style to me!

Now he finally completed his military service on 5/3. I, like all of his Korean and international fans, hope that he will perform in a good project in the near future!

So he was release on 5/3. I've been browsing and reading some articles on his english fan site, it was too bad not much commotion happened, but as you said Cindy, he's such a great person, humble, friendly, kind, lovable, he probably does not want to cause too much attention. I am quite impressed when you mentioned he gave up the "entertainment soldier to be a ordinary soldier" Bless his pretty heart!!

I read that he wanted to play soccer??? but he got injuried and couldnt' pursue it anymore?? I am glad and proud to hear that he didn't use it to delay his service either.

I just can't stop comparing his last drama Pure 19 to BOF. I totally love both version but I really enjoyed and felt that Pure 19 was the adult version of BOF.

Any one here able to go to his fan meetings??? I am looking forward to more news ... hmmmm what kind of drama will he take now...

HI,Cindy, it is very very nice to see a SJS thread.Thank you so much for the information posted.

I like the performance of SJS in "pure 19"very much and also was fond of the couple of iceman and farm girl. Then I traced the film "bow", I do think SJS is a talented and potential actor.

I seached his news and TV programs before,but since my Korean was so poor,I just could understand very little. Especially he was in the program "happy together-friends"2006 ,I was really courious about the details.

It is glad to know he released from the army, hope to see his drama or film in the near future.
