pechumori
@hiranade, here is the plot of "Emperor's Cook"Satoh Takeru has a new TBS drama series titled “Tennō No Ryōriban" (Emperor's Cook) from the original story of Naoki Prize writer Sugimori Hisahide. He plays as a cook named Akiyama Tokuzō who lives in the turbulent Showa era in Meiji wherein Satoh enthusiastically wore a short and shaved head. The drama series will be broadcast on April 2015, Sundays,at 9pm (Japan Standard time) as TBS TV's 60th anniversary special. The shooting will begin in mid-December 2014 and shooting location includes Paris France. It is about the real life story of Akiyama Tokuzō (1888-1974) who served as the Imperial Household Daizen Ministry head chef of the royal family in Taishō & Shōwa era. Showa from the late Meiji period was reproduced in shooting. Akiyama has ventured in Paris, France wherein he had undergone training while fighting discrimination and prejudice and he also became the Hotel Ritz world class chef, it's a challenge based on historical fact. He served in the kitchen of the royal family at the age of 26. He brought influence of French cuisine to Japan through the wine and dine ceremonies with his cooking. Satoh, who plays the hero Akiyama Tokuzō, is the first chef officer in this project. He performed cuisine training in an actual cooking school in August and also learned the acts as a cook. In his apprenticeship period, he did dishwashing and cutting of vegetables as the process of growing as a cook and even did an actual cooking scene himself. Also, we can see in this project that Satoh changed from his long hair in "Rurouni Kenshin" into a short and shaved hair. A good team of actors are aligned. Kuroki Haru who won Berlin International Film Festival Silver Bear Award as Best Actress plays the role of his wife. The other cast are Kobayashi Kaoru, Kiritani Kenta, Emoto Tasuku, Suzuki Ryohei, Ito Hideaki, Sugimoto Tetta, Takeda Tetsuya, Ashina Sei, Sato Gajiro, Takaoka Saki, Miho Jun, Hino Youjin, Ooshima Satoko, Kato Masaya and Asou Yumi. pechumori
3 reasons why the acclaimed spring drama that will start in April “Tenno no Ryoriban” (Emperor’s Cook), starring Satoh Takeru & heroine Kuroki Haru looks interesting:Reason 1: Great cast.Reason 2: Taishō- Shōwa era is a “popular historical background”.Reason 3: The drama will have a high degree of perfection for the 3rd time.Note:Tenno no Ryoriban had two dramas in the past. The first drama was in 1980. The two past dramas starred talented actors as well.*Rough translations by Hana Angel (tumblr)Source: sukimagazine
