Along with best film, the espionage period thriller also won the best music award at the 36th annual Korean Film Critics Association Awards, the group said in a release.

Lee Kyoung-mi received the best director award for the mystery thriller "The Truth Beneath," for which Son Ye-jin earned the best actress honor for her successful portrayal of both a young mother and a desperate woman with a deteriorating mental condition as she tirelessly searches for her missing daughter.

Best actor went to Lee Byung-hun, who received critical acclaim for his performance in Woo Min-ho's political revenge flick "Inside Men."

For new talent, Yoon Ga-eun picked up the best new director prize for "The World of Us", which casts light on social issues affecting children in Korea, and Jeong Ha-dam won the rookie actress award from "Steel Flower" for successfully depicting the life of a scared, homeless girl who is determined to forge a path out of poverty.

Meanwhile, the best rookie actor award was left vacant.

The technical award went to the zombie thriller "Train to Busan" and the best cinematography award was given to Park Chan-wook's "The Handmaiden," centered on the lesbian relationship between a servant and her master.

This year's prize for contribution to cinema was awarded to Im Kwon-taek, one of the most famous directors in Korea, for his influence in the development of the Korean movie industry.

Among other prize winners are directors Kim Dong-ryung and Park Kyoung-tae, who received the best independent film award for co-producing the documentary film "Tour of Duty," which chronicles the lives of three women struggling to overcome pain and persecution during the U.S. military presence in South Korea.

The black-and-white biographical period film "Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet" won Lee Joon-ik an award from the local Film Critics Society composed of movie critics working in Korea, and earned its writer Shin Yeon-shick the best screenplay award.

In various Korean media updates today, it's been widely reported that Lee Byung Hun receives an offer to appear in a new movie to be helmed by Dir. Woo Min Ho (Inside Men). However, BH Entertainment has not confirmed anything stating that the actor is still undecided. The new movie will be focusing on characters in the era of Korean independence movement securing funds from drug-related activities (?? Google-translate). As usual, we will wait & see and watch what happens, hopefully more great movies with better, impressive roles.

Anyway, a fan-artwork on Master posted on Instagram as soon as the posters are out today.

Kpop Hearld just posted an article about the upcoming movie "Master"

Lee Byung-hun, Kim Woo-bin, Gang dong-won to star in upcoming action thriller

image

Some of the biggest names in Korean cinema are coming together in an upcoming production.

Directed by filmmaker Jo Ui-seok, “Master” will feature heavyweights Lee Byung-hun, Kim Woo-bin, Gang dong-won, Oh Dal-su and others. Jo is best known for crime thriller “Cold Eyes” (2013), which was nominated for best cinematography at various international film festivals.

Hollywood breakout actor Lee, who most recently starred in a remake of 1960s classic “The Magnificent Seven,” returns as businessman Jin, whose company is mired in an expansive fraud case. Gang, who appeared in local blockbuster “A Violent Prosecutor” earlier this year, plays Kim Jae-myung, the lead investigator on the case.

Acting as the mastermind behind the fraud and Jin’s right-hand man is actor and model Kim Woo-bin, who is returning to the big screen for the first time since starring in international hit drama series “Uncontrollably Fond” earlier this year.

Set in Korea and the Philippines, “Master” is scheduled to open in local theaters in December.

So sorry for not being at the thread recently, my internet service had gone through some problems over the weekend, till today. It's the second time in 2 months, so frustrating to say the least! bricks.gifAnyway, thanks so much @peonie for the lovely LACMA pics. Finally LBH & LMJ attended the event together, it's about time! Just can't be bothered with people who will still find something to pick on, the couple is doing well & have been steadily working toward their relationship and more. It's about time that BH realize that being a married celebrity couple, they look much better attending events together, hope this is the first time for more to come.

Thanks so much @irilight for the Master movie news and a new capture. It's so hard to see more pics from the movie when it's supposedly to be released in December. Although there could be pics of potential spoilers as well.. as I have encountered in one of the threads. :vicx:

Anyway, glad & good to be back!

How To Wear Gucci Damn Well Right Now, Whether You're Jaden Smith or Bradley Cooper

BY JUSTIN FENNER GQ

Is fashion art? That's a debate that's not getting resolved any time soon. But what is certain is that the world's most stylish people love nothing quite so much as dressing up and throwing a party in a museum.

That's what happened at the sixth annual LACMA Art + Film Gala on Saturday. The event, hosted by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and sponsored by the good people at Gucci, is getting a reputation as being the Met Gala of the West. (Even though the Met Gala is supposed to be Oscars of the East). And with a star studded guest list that includes swerve kings like Jaden Smith and A$AP Rocky, classically dressed movie stars like Bradley Cooper and Lee Byung Hun, stylish funnyman James Corden, and a bunch of dudes who aren't afraid to wear Gucci's fantastically colored prints and furry slip ons, that comparison is pretty well deserved.
