Lee Byung-hun to attend press event for ‘Insiders’ on Oct. 8

1442965478366.jpg

Actor Lee Byung-hun will attend a press conference on Oct. 8 to promote his new film “Insiders.”

Lee and other cast members -- Jo Seung-woo and Baek Yoon-shik -- are scheduled to show up for the event, together with director Woo Min-ho and screenwriter Yoon Tae-ho.

Lee last made a public appearance in Korea in July when he took part in a press event to promote the film “Memories of the Sword.”

Since then, he has been in the U.S. to shoot for a Hollywood production, “The Magnificent Seven.”

Lee is yet to fully recover his public image after he was embroiled in a scandal involving younger actresses while his wife, actress Lee Min-jung, was carrying his baby.

“Insiders” is a criminal-drama film portraying the loyalty and betrayal among the movers and shakers of South Korean society. The movie is expected to release in November.

This was posted at our FB (thanks to Linh Lê) , seems like a new (unseen) photo of LBH & LMJ.

Shared by Minjung's friend in LA.

So, the couple is no longer in NM.

Wonder if they'll be back in Korea, for Chusok (September  26) .. since they missed it last year. Probably spending a bit longer in LA since LBH will have to be back in Seoul in October.

Completely clueless where (video) games are concerned and there hasn't been any English update on this yet.. but it's certainly good news as LBH has been selected as the model to promote the online games, his second such endorsement after XBox Lost Planet.

There's a video clip and LBH message on this but have not found that either.

Waves at @irilight @peonie @luwali 196 @p.v.wong, can't thank all of you enough for staying on with the thread. Looks like we are going to have more updates after the long period of uncertainty before this. The Netmarble news is truly a surprise, if not mistaken some of the media updates (by certain quarters) sounded 'amazed' at Lee Byung Hun's latest endorsement and promotional model appointment.

And more news, hope my Google gist isn't that misleading but Insiders articles are saying that LBH who finished filming 'The Magnificent Seven' on September 19 has returned home to focus on the Korean movie release. The other big news today is that Lee Byung Hun and Jo Seung Woo were involved in a filming (some mention re-shoot) for the ending scene of 'Insiders', taking place in Seoul. Another article stated it's a supplement scene but most importantly, there was a filming today involving LBH and his co-star. Personally I don't mind and not worried about the re-shoot even if it's noted by the media to be rather unusual, particularly when the movie is slated for release in November. At least Showbox is unlike Lotte that practically sat on MOTS, not doing anything even though they needed to re-edit for valid reasons contributing to the poor performance at the box-office.

Of course a late re-shoot could only be done now once LBH is back in Korea. Whatever it is, hope everything for Insiders will go on smoothly.

This also means that LBH and his family will celebrate Chusok at home, right. Good for them!

Another wishful thinking now that he's back is that Lee Byung Hun will attend the upcoming BIFF scheduled on 1-10 October as this will be the 20th edition. with extra special celebration. He had already skipped going to the festival last year. It's fine if he doesn't attend the red carpet & opening ceremony but hopefully the organizers will not leave him out considering his contribution each time.

The agency now with 10 artistes directly under the same roof

Lately, the agency has started updating their FB after a long duration of inactivity. Even highlighting  Lee Byung Hun's articles which was basically "non-existent" for about a year or so. With lesser artistes this time, hopefully BH Entertainment will be better off, particularly in managing the actors and actresses, for everyone concerned.

New Mexico’s film industry’s star continues to rise

By Adrian Gomez / Asst. Arts Editor, Reel NM

Joel Smallbone patiently waited between scenes, often taking time to talk to crew members.

Smallbone, a member of Christian rock band For King and Country, was in the Duke City filming the independent film “Priceless.”

The film is one of nine productions underway in New Mexico this month – some are nearing the end of production, while others are in preproduction and haven’t been announced yet.

They range from the independents like “Priceless” to the bigger budget films like “The Magnificent Seven.”js0927a04s

For the New Mexico Film Office, this is all good news – and it’s indicative of the success of the movie industry in New Mexico right now.

Film productions in the state have been increasing year over year, and this past year was the best yet, says Nick Maniatis, New Mexico Film Office director.

“It’s very busy,” he says. “Last fiscal year was the busiest we’ve ever had since the tax incentive program started.”

Maniatis said the film office usually averages about 60 productions a year. Last fiscal year, which ended June 30, there were 77 productions, 25 of those had a budget of more than $1 million.

And that translated into a $288.6 million direct spend into the New Mexico economy, he said.

Going into fall and winter, Maniatis is optimistic, though there is usually a dropoff in productions during that time.

“We have a lot of things in the hopper,” he says. “It is all depending if the productions come here. We are always working to get as many diverse productions as we can.”

Those that have wrapped recently are “Gold,” with Matthew McConaughey; “Independence Day: Resurgence” with Liam Hemsworth and Jeff Goldblum; “Manhattan,” “Outlaws & Angels” and “Edge.”

Among those in production are the TV series “Better Call Saul,” and movies “t@gged” and “The Space Between Us,” as well as “The Magnificent Seven.”

The cast of “Magnificent Seven” is filming in Las Vegas, N.M., where Chris Pratt has taken to his Instagram account and shared how impressed he is with the area. In fact, he posted a video that says, “The sun rises in a little place called Las Vegas, New Mexico. #MagnificentSeven We’re near the end. Three weeks to go.”

New Mexico offers incentives, diverse studios that can handle films of all types, good weather and a smorgasboard of landscapes.

It also has strong crews, and Maniatis said the goal for the state is to continue to build that crew base.

Chris Pratt posted some images and videos on his Instagram while filming in Las Vegas, NM.

“We’re happily busy,” he says. “We want to continue to keep attracting the productions here.”

Ann Lerner, the city of Albuquerque’s film liaison, expects the fall and winter to remain busy for the Duke City. She says crews continue to work steadily and is awaiting some more announcements.

“It feels great that we are very busy at the film office,” she says. “The best part is that the community is so receptive.”

Smallbone of “Priceless” says New Mexico was the perfect place to film his feature.

“When my brother was looking to direct the film, we had driven through Albuquerque on our last tour trying to find a coffee shop,” he said. “We had some time to check out the area and just fell in love with it. We knew we had to come out here to shoot the film.”

The movie follows an unlikely hero who unknowingly participates in the transport of two young sisters into a human trafficking ring, then tries to save them.

Albuquerque’s welcoming community is what Smallbone also enjoyed while shooting “Priceless.”

During a day of filming in the Northeast Heights, he took a break between scenes to talk to Jody Sanchez and her two children as the production filmed in their neighborhood.

“Meeting people is one of the best things about what I do,” he says. “It’s the least I could do, because we’re filming in their neighborhood and invading their space. All of the people I’ve encountered have been very receptive and kind.”

It's extra lonely around here due to the extended Chuseok weekend, the long holidays till Tuesday.

Hope we will have some news to share after tomorrow. Can't wait for the 'Insiders' movie poster to be released.  Finally, October will be buzzing with Netmarble news and Insiders updates.

October is also our 5th Anniversary for EverythingLBH.com and the 10th plus Anniversary for LBH soompi. Wonder what will happen next -- are we really up to it, after this?. It's been a long time.. too long not to feel tired and alone..

Anyway...

Chuseok wishes from LBH DC Gallery, thank you for sharing..
