Thank you Rubie so much for upload the clip on sendspace. Appreciate it. You are so nice.

BH with white shirt and black vest looks thin and attractive.

Out of the 3 guys, BH is indeed the thinnest of all. But he is so spunky & most attractive.

The white shirt & vest really made him look good... I mean.. BAD!

It's great to see you posting, hunnybrian. Cool!

http://web.samanthathavasa.net/img/banner_event.jpg

I think Samantha Tiara is having some promo again, something about orignal photo album, can't really figure out as can't copy the text out to read :D

p.s. ya, I got myself a new PC but the stock is not here yet .... hopefully I will get to use it before Hunnie's birthday :D

Been awhile since we had a Samantha update. For a moment I thought there's a new ST design from BH.. romantic inspiration from Prague, perhaps?

Hmm.. maybe it's another ST fanmeet during the GBW premiere. There was one during the 'Once in a Summer' Japan premiere before. It'll be nice to see BH coming out with more ST designs.. just doing something that he likes, besides acting.

ps: Wah.. took awhile to get a new pc, huh.. not like we can buy it off the shelf.. .. hope mine doesn't get sick when it's Hunnie events going on. :sweatingbullets:

.. just like VogueTV and Movieweek or CINE21.. that'll be so cool..

Would love to see expressions of BH being handcuffed..

---

ps: time for me to go off now.. it's been great being at the thread.. lots of cool goodies and unexpected postings shared.. way to go, slowly but surely.. fighting!fighting!fighting! :w00t:

I'm most probably going out to get a birthday card (tomorrow) to send to BH for his birthday.. hope everyone will get a card, too.. like posted & talked before  .. it's a simple plain gesture but it could be a lot of fun choosing a great card for him. Regardless if he reads them all (I think he will, eventually or randomly).. at least we remember him on his special day.. making our own as well.

^rubie, if I recall correctly, according to the article which I have translated, the Japanese Fans will watch GBW with Hunnie on 6 July which is one day before the press preview ..... If everything is going according to plan, then the press preview should be on 7 July, 2 weeks down the road

Ohh.. oh.. ok.. ok  .. panda got a bit excited suddenly and forgot all the important dates. I thought I babel-ed something about the media screening.. and panicked.. obviously. :sweatingbullets::lol: Blurr.. blurr..

But.. but.. but..

if the Japanese premiere is on the 6th.. and the press preview the next day.. won't that be too taxing and rushing for BH? He will have to return to Seoul.. immediately! :o

Why do they have to schedule everything so close together?

ps: even the change of the release date from July 10th to 17th.. has caused some fans to miss the screening in Korea.

A long journey watching Beautiful Days.. with a cliche first impression.. now.. the lasting second impression..

A non-fan's compliment is always the best comment..

Related excerpt only.. I now understand why Lee Byung Hun rises so fast internationally. This guy surprises you at every turn and he does not repeat too much of his expressions in this drama. The beauty about him is that he looks so steely cold in appearance as compared to Jang Dong Gun that when he shows a weak spot, it is so unexpected and astounding.

Big Bang TOP, casted for the role of a killer in "IRIS" with lead actor Lee Byung Hun

Translated by melodygreenleaf. Do not add to or remove this entire line.

Big Bang's TOP was quickly casted for the drama "IRIS", which is directed by PD Kang Jegyu.

"Iris" is an action drama already arousing much interest with PD Kang Jegyu of "Taegukgi: The Brotherhood Of War", PD Lee Hyungmin of "I'm sorry, I love you", and actor Lee Byung Hun, who is making a comeback to the television after five years.

TOP will be acting as a killer sent undercover by IRIS, a secret organization hidden in America, to assassinate Lee Byung Hun, who is part of the secret organization NSS.

"Iris" is a blockbluster drama with a huge cost of 20 million dollars, overseas location, a large-scale set, and even romance surrounding four leading characters.

The target date is early next year; however, if they manage to complete filming 20 episodes, it is planned for the drama to begin airing in October.

Huh.. ok.. rubie.. slowly.. breathe in.. breathe out...you're right, ylin.. I am still the blurr one.. unfortunately.. huhuu.. :sweatingbullets:

Found this update by Janice.. I had mistaken Jamsil for Japan.. blurr.. very blurr.. and forgot all about the tour.. the GBW package and the one to BH Ent.. so clueless.. huhuhuu..

Luckily I've got the update indexed for easier search and reference. At least, it helps this blur soul to find the update/articles faster when needed.. contrary to how people say rubie is simply obsessive. It is so sad being misunderstood and to be called such.

Thanks ylin & Janice for the clarification and great sharing, always.

A relief that BH doesn't have to rush like crazy all the time but I wonder why.. no appearances by his GBW co-stars? Maybe there's a birthday surprise?

Sigh.. I'm getting more blurr than ever from talking too much to myself.. sigh.. sigh.. sigh..

Japanese Promotional tour to watch GBW in Seoul & June 6 is the deadline.

Romance missing from Korean films

Two genres -- the melodrama and the romantic comedy -- used to do very well at the box office. "200-Pound Beauty" is a case in point. It deals with plastic surgery, but it is deeply rooted in the romantic comedy tradition in which love ultimately conquers all.

But Korean theaters in recent months have had few, if any, offerings that stir people to talk about the triumph of romance. The summer lineup reveals the paucity of romantic flicks.

What happened?

Last week, "Public Enemy Returns," directed by Kang Woo-suk, rose to the No. 1 slot, offering a much-anticipated reprieve to the protracted slump in the local film industry. But the film, starring Sul Kyoung-gu and Jung Jin-young, does not have any elements that can be categorized as romantic.

"Crossing," a film about North Korean defectors which is also getting a lot of attention, is about to hit theaters this week, but there is no room in this story for romance.

"The Good, The Bad, The Weird," a big-budget Korean film that unfolds in Manchuria, is also unlikely to strike a romantic chord with viewers. Although well-known Korean Wave stars Lee Byung-hun, Song Kang-ho and Jung Woo-sung play title roles -- a bandit, a train robber and a bounty hunter -- and expectations are high that the film will do well, the movie is an action extravaganza that is devoid of the typical romantic plot.

The shortage of films about love might be a result of seasonal fluctuations. During the summer season, a host of big-budget Hollywood blockbusters tends to dominate the theaters, leaving few slots for melodramas and romantic comedy films. But, even considering the seasonal factor, it seems unusual that viewers now have no chance to watch decent romantic features by Korean filmmakers.

Another intriguing trend in the summer season is that most Korean films are led by male stars. "Sunny," starring the top-rated actress Su Ae, is a welcome exception, but the overriding fact is that most Korean films do not have female actors as the leads these days. Even "Sunny," which will be released next month, is not exactly a traditional Korean romantic film, since it focuses on the Vietnam War.

"My Mighty Princess," to be released nationally this week, will come as a mighty disappointment to those who expect a true-to-form romantic comedy. Director Kwak Jae-yong, who made a big, lasting splash with "My Sassy Girl," packaged the film as a romantic comedy in the context of martial arts. But it turns out that the film is more about martial arts battles, and the romantic comedy angle is sadly pushed to the sidelines.

"My Mighty Princess" has all the potential elements of a good romantic comedy, but Kwak's priority is the colorful visual effects, with the help of wire action sequences, and he fails to build up a romance between its heroine So-hui (played by Shin Min-a) and her counterpart.

There was a boom of romantic films in 2006, but, since then, the much-favored genre has been heading downhill. Early this year, "Lovers of Six Years" with its stars Kim Ha-neul and Yoon Gye-sang, but it sold only 1.1 million tickets, falling far short of the high expectations that accompanied its release.

Late last year, leading director Han Ji-seung, who had enjoyed a high degree of popularity in the 1990s with sophisticated films such as "Yellow Ribbon" and "A Day," came back with the romantic comedy "Venus and Mars." Yet, despite the high-profile casting of Sul Kyoung-gu and Kim Tae-hee, it tanked at the box office.

Discouraged by the poor sales for romantic films in recent months, screenwriters and directors are shifting their focus to other genres, particularly thrillers and action films. Melodrama and romantic comedy fans will wait probably have to wait for quite a while.

First GI Joe Movie Teaser Poster Surfaces

A poster over at Film1.nl stumbled onto the first official teaser poster for Paramount's GI Joe live-action film at the Cinema EXPO in Amsterdam.

The teaser poster features Channing Tatum as Duke in what will likely be the first of many character-focused teaser posters ala Fox's X-Men.

More interestingly is the movie name which includes a "Rise of Cobra" subtitle which until now was a complete unknown. Unless there's some last minute change, the full name we can expect to see plastered everywhere next summer is GI Joe: Rise of Cobra.

More GI Joe movie news is likely to surface later this week as the official GI Joe convention kicks off. Stay tuned for updates.

T.O.P casted for IRIS alongside Lee Byung Hun

June 24, 2008 by coolsmurf

T.O.P from Big Bang has been casted in “IRIS”, his second drama.

20080624topcoolsmurfnw7.jpg

“IRIS” is attracting attention from viewers because of the big names already signed to the drama like director Kang Je Gyu (Taegukgi: The Brotherhood Of War), director Lee Hyung Min (I’m Sorry, But I Love You) and also the return of Lee Byung Hun to the small screen after an absence of five years.

T.O.P will play an assassin that’s sent by IRIS, a secret organization hidden in America to assasinate Lee Byung Hun’s character who belongs to NSS, another secret organization. T.O.P was last seen in KBS “I Am Sam” drama and have impressed so much that he is now given a chance to work alongside Lee Byung Hun and Kang Je Gyu in just his second drama in less than a year.

With over 20 million dollars invested in “IRIS”, the 20-episodes drama will start filming in countries like Russia, Japan, China, America plus other overseas countries in October. It is scheduled for broadcast in the earlier part of 2009.
