The actor, who was released from his military service in 2011, decided to make the film's leading character Kwon Bob his comeback role. Unexpectedly, the film's production plans ground to a halt and Jo In Sung decided to wait for them to resume. It took two long years. In the time that it took the film's production to be fully financed, the actor mostly busied himself with shooting commercials. He filmed up to ten commercials in that period, earning millions of dollars, but until last fall refused to sign on for any dramas or films. Finally, he felt he could wait no longer and he agreed to play the con man Oh Soo in "That Winter, The Wind Blows" with co-star Song Hye Kyo. The drama was a hit and now, fortunately, his wait for the film is over. "Kwon Bob" has finally gotten the go-ahead to start production. It's an international collaboration. Chinese production companies are providing up to 30 percent of the film's financing with a view to showing the film in China. Production is being managed by Korea's CJ Group, which has long sought to bridge the Korean and Chinese entertainment markets."The film is receiving worldwide attention," said Jung Tae Sung of CJ Group. "It's a sign that there is a widespread demand for Korean movies."Jung says the film will provide a new model for the Korean global film market.Such collaborations have been profitable before. The film, "The Parting, which was a recent Chinese-Korean collaboration, earned a profit of more than $29 million. It set a record for collaborated movies that "Kwon Bob" hopes to improve on.The film, which will star Jo and actress Lee Yeon Hee, is a futuristic science fiction thriller. It's about a man whose hatred of injustice prompts him to develop super powers. He falls in love with a woman and has to save the village she lives in.Before appearing in "That Winter The Wind Blows," Jo In Sung was best known for his work in the films, "A Frozen Flower" and "A Dirty Carnival." His "Kwon Bob" co-star Lee Yeon Hee appears in "Gu Family Book" as Yun Seo Hwa. She played Yoo Kang Mi in the drama "Phantom."Park Kwang Hyun, who directed the 2005 hit film, "Welcome to Dongmakgol" will direct "Kwon Bob."-------Source: http://www.kdramastars.com/articles/9718/20130614/celebrities-date-kiss.htmWhich Celebrities Would You Like To Date Or Kiss?by Joan MacDonald Jun 14, 2013 12:00 PM EDTIf you have seen a few kdramas, you are familiar with the concept of blind dates. Korean blind dates are dates that come with references. The date can be set up by friends and be fairly casual or arranged by parents with an eye toward marriage. Those who show up on blind dates, rarely find their prospective partner is a celebrity. But if you could have a blind date with a celebrity, who would it be? Last year the most desirable blind date was Lee Min Ho. This year he is not even in the running.A recent survey by the marriage consulting company Duo asked participants, ages 20 to 39, if they could choose which celebrity to have a blind date with, who would that person be.The men who responded to the survey chose actress Son Ye Jin with 33 percent of the votes over Han Hyo Joo at 24 percent and Han Hye Jin at 11 percent. The actress was chosen for her feminine qualities. The top choice for women was Lee Seung Gi, who rated 46 percent of the votes for his perceived kind nature. He beat out Jo In Sung who scored 16 percent and Song Joong Ki at 12 percent.Yet in another survey, when voters were asked to choose which celebrity they would like to kiss, Lee Seung Gi only got four percent of the vote. So, women would go on a blind date with Lee Seung Gi but maybe not want to kiss him? Someone should warn him. Scoring at the top of that kiss list was Song Joong Ki, who rated 30 percent, followed by Kim Soo Hyun at 24 percent. When participants were asked which woman celebrity they most wanted to kiss, Suzy scored 42 percent. Son Ye Jin scored 17 percent, just passing Lee Min Jung at 16 percent, but poor Song Hye Kyo only got one percent. Tell that to Jo In Sung's character in "That Winter, The Wind Blows."Other celebrities scoring well on the kiss-meter included Jo In Sung with 16 percent, Kim Nam Gil at 13 percent and Yoona at 10 percent. The latter survey was taken to honor Kiss Day, June 14, which is a romantic holiday in Korea. Korean couples are usually shy about displays of public affection but on Kiss Day, they can feel more comfortable about smooching outdoors. Someone should warn the winners of the celebrity kiss contest to stay inside unless they want to be kissed.Who would you choose? Let us know.-Source: http://www.allkpop.com/article/2013/06/song-joong-ki-and-suzy-are-chosen-as-the-celebrities-fans-want-to-receive-a-kiss-from-on-kiss-daySong Joong Ki and Suzy are chosen as the celebrities fans want to receive a kiss from on Kiss Day2013-06-14 10:29:00{seems like this one is the same as the one above. busy now, i didn't click on it.}

The project is being managed by Korea’s CJ Group, who has already begun making great steps toward creating a bridge between Korean and Chinese marketing efforts for the film. Jung Tae Sung of CJ E&M’s Film Department released a statement saying, “This film is receiving a lot of interest around the world and will serve to become a new model in Korea’s global film market.”You might recall the announcement of this project way back in 2011, but with production halted for an entire two-year period. Jo In Sung upheld his contract once all the mumbo jumbo legal schtuff was worked out, and the film is finally underway. No official release date has been set, but with cameras rolling, it likely won’t be another two years.http://blog.dramafever.com/2013/06/collective-yay-jo-in-sung-begins-production-on-new-film/

Guest kdramafanusa
Source: KOFICCJ Readies THE FIST with Chinese Investmentby Pierce Conran / Jun 21, 2013Deal Follows New China-Korea Co-Production TreatyPARK Kwang-hyunOn the same day that a long-gestating China-Korea co-production treaty was finally signed, CJ Entertainment announced plans for a new blockbuster sci-fi that will be in part financed by China. The Fist will be the sophomore film from Welcome to Dongmakgol (2005) director PARK Kwang-hyun. Pegasus & Taihe Entertainment International and the China Film Group Corporation are set to invest 30% of the film’s reported USD 20 million price tag. CJ initially set up the project in 2011 with JO In-sung in the lead but following the disappointing performance of some of their large-scale productions at the time, the project, then known by its Korean title ‘Kwon Bob’, was put on hold. JO, the star of A Frozen Flower (2008) who recently completed his military service is still being considered for the lead role. He would play a man with supernatural powers seeking to combat injustice in a small community in the forest. Actress LEE Yeon-hui is also attached to the film. JEONG Tae-sung, CJ Entertainment’s head of production, mentioned that “The Fist is meaningful in that it presents a new model for [south] Korean cinema’s growing influence in world cinema.” The film will receive a simultaneous release in Korea and the Chinese mainland.
