Writer Kim Won Suk did an interview where he answered 28 questions regarding DotS.  I translated just the question specifically pertaining to Kyo

 

Q:  Writers fell in love at first sight for Song Joong Ki's and Song Hye Kyo's acting?

A:  Of course (laughs).  Song Joong Ki's thinking is deep, is a good actor who can feel the character's sincerity.  As a man's opinion, he is handsome.  There is no doubt that he's handsome.  Song Hye Kyo's acting is excellent.  Actually Kang Mo Yeon is not an easy role, emotions change drastically, even have to achieve at the same time (bringing out different emotions at the same scene).  Song Hye Kyo interpreted Kang Mo Yeon's emotional changes perfectly.  Even I would be sad watching her performance.  Really great actress.

Joong Ki also shared to his Thai fans that while he is not as romantic as Yoo Shi Jin, he is willing to wait for a woman he is in love with. The "Innocent Man" actor was asked if he would still pursue a relationship with a girl he likes if he would be turned down countless times the same way Kang Mo Yeon (Song Hye Kyo) did to his character in "DOTS."

"If she is the woman that I'm truly in love with," Song Joong Ki explained, according to SJKTimes. "I will always be waiting."

If a Korean actor/actress could act in a drama that breaks 40% viewership,that's surely something to be grateful for. Song Hye Kyo, Queen of drama series,has acted in 3 dramas that exceeded 40% viewership such as "Autumn In My Heart, All In and Full House" . Her recent drama "Descendants of The Sun" once again created another career peak for her.  

The script and characters in Descendants of The Sun are superb. It is not by accident that the male lead, Song Joong Ki, has been receiving much spotlight and attention but to endure in this business, he still has a lot to learn from Senior Song Hye Kyo. Between 2000-2004, she has acted in 7 drama series which include Autumn In My Heart, All In and Full House.It is also worthy to note that these 3 dramas produced amazing results by exceeding 40% viewership.

After Full House, Hye Kyo began to slow down. From 2008-2013, she accepted roles in The Worlds Within and That Winter The Wind Blows, until recently she regained her status as the Queen of Drama series through her comeback project Descendants of The Sun.

The Rating for "The Sun" created a new high. Even-though it didn't break 40% rating, but it broke the record held by "You Who Came From The Star". Still, after "The Sun" finished airing,viewers find it hard to let go of the romance between Yoo ShI jin and Kang Mo Yeon. KBS aired 3 special episodes to satisfy viewers which has ratings of 17.7%, 13.6% and 12.2 % respectively. The ratings trump the other dramas aired at the same time  "Goodbye Mr Black" and "The Entertainer" which definitely embarrass SBS and MBC.

Chosun Ilbo analyses Song Hye Kyo's phenomenon and came to a conclusion that her eyes, height and her approach towards romance are her biggest advantage.Drama critic thinks that Hye Kyo has a superb acting skill and watching her act out emotional scenes, one can't help to think that "these 2 people will surely date in real life"." Looking at her innocent and lovely eyes, no man would be able to resist her."

A tall actress does not always equal to good news, it is difficult to find a well match partner. Song Hye Kyo is 161 cm in height, it is not tall by any standards, but it seems to be her advantage. Whether it is with Rain ,Jo In Sung or Kang Do Won who are over 180 cm or Song Joong Ki and Lee Byung Hun who are over 170 cm, they are all well matched. One producer states "Song Hye Kyo is petite, so  when acting she is looking up at the actor, this inspires the actor to have a protective instinct."

Hye Kyo is so charming which resulted in countless dating rumors . If the rumor is untrue, she would not acknowledge. If the rumor is true, she would not deny. She was in relationships with LBH and HB, sadly these relationships did not last. However, Song Hye Kyo has never once speak ill of them and vice versa. Their relationships have been praised as good examples, and some netizens even commented " not one to show off relationships and not one to cry because of break ups."

Even as she is hailed The Queen of drama series, she is always focus and diligent in her work while not forgetting to encourage others.  Noh Hee Kyung who writes "TWTWB" praised her by saying " Song Hye Kyo has limitless potential. Q:  The original Hallyu star.  Because of DotS, which has received much attention, renewed the Korean wave in China?

A:  To be correct, it was from the era of 'Autumn in My Heart' that I received much love in China.  Seems like a bit of showing off (laughs).  AIMH's Yoon Eun Seo and Full House's Han Ji Eun are very different roles.  Compared to the sad Yoon Eun Seo, Chinese fans are happier to see the cheerful Han Ji Eun.  After that, there was a period of stagnation.  This time because of DotS, got a good response again.  Right now, it's not just me, but a lot of other Hallyu stars whom Chinese fans love.  Thanks to the efforts of all the actors of our country that we would have such results.  I, as an actor of our country, to be able to cause such reactions, feel very honored.

Q:  Secrets on receiving love in China?

A:  Entry into the Chinese market started with Director Wong Kar Wai.  Before working with Director Wong Kar Wai on 'The Grandmaster', we had decided to work together on another project, but it fell through.  During my rest time after finishing the movie 'Hwang Jin Yi', the director offered me an invitation.  He said, "right now I'm making a martial arts movie, there's a very small role, it'll be good if you can star in it."  I was very curious about China's then filming process and what work actors do.  I went along carrying the mentality of learning and not working with me, but at that time, didn't expect it would take four years.  While I would occasionally feel regret that I had missed good projects in Korea, but in the process, whether as an actor or as a person, have learned a lot.  Then, after watching 'Hwang Jin Yi', Director John Woo invited me to take part in 'The Crossing'.  Everyone around me advised me to use dubbing, but out of an actor's self-esteem, I hope to be able to say the lines in Chinese.  Because of such occasional opportunities, I was able to continuously have activities in China.  So it does not seem like a Korean star's secret.

Q:  This year is the 20th year anniversary since debut

A:  Acting still remains very difficult, looks like it'll be difficult in the future also.  When younger, I thought with more experience, the acting would be more relaxed, but that was a very wrong idea.  Every time when there's a new project and new role, because of worries, would accumulate a lot of stress.  Although a drama's or movie's success is very important, I don't want the project's ratings or box office as a benchmark for an actor's evaluation.  Hoping to get a better evaluation when compared to previous projects.  To hear this, as an actor, will feel very satisfied.
