class="entry-title"[NEWS] 140430 JYJ – Pursuing Individual Activities In Relay Form April 30, 2014 · rilanna

jyj-pursuing-individual-activities-in-re

JYJ members Park Yoochun, Kim Jaejoong, and Kim Junsu are vigorously pursuing their personal activities. Each one of the members now shows off their talents in acting, musicals, and more. May will be a busy time for the members.

Park Yoochun will be saying goodbye to his fans on SBS’ “Three Days” on May 1st, where he’s been showing off his masculine charm and matured acting skills. Kim Jaejoong will be taking the empty spot and greeting the viewers through MBC’s new drama “Triangle.” Expectations are high since viewers will be able to see Kim Jaejoong act as a rugged bum in the drama. While “Triangle” is riding the airwaves, Kim Junsu will fly to Japan and hold his first Japan musical concert titled ’2014 Xia the Best Ballad Spring Tour Concert in Japan.’ He will be greeting approximately 70,000 fans in Tokyo from the 13th to the 15th and in Osaka from the 22nd to the 24th.

This type of ‘relay’ activities has become the norm for these JYJ members. In 2011 Park Yoochun starred in “Miss Ripley,” which was followed by Kim Jaejoong’s appearance in “Protect the Boss.” In 2012 Park Yoochun starred in “Rooftop Prince,” which was again followed by Kim Jaejoong’s appearance in “Dr. Jin.” In the meantime, Kim Junsu took home various awards with ticket sales as he showed off his talent as a musical actor.

Since the members had been busy with their individual activities, they faced many barriers in their group activities as JYJ. It was difficult for them to get on Korean music programs, and until January this year it wasn’t easy for them to hold concerts in Japan. However, ever since they’ve left their previous agency Avex, their activities have taken off.

It’ll take some time before the team’s name rises to the top again. But JYJ has nothing to worry about, since the individual members are each pursuing their own activities in dramas and musicals. They already have the attention of their fans. One agency rep stated, “Since they have their own activities, the timing is not important. If anything, we expect great synergy when they do have simultaneous activities."

JYJ is one of the leaders of Hallyu wave, enjoying high popularity worldwide, and despite receiving high praise in musicality, performance, and singing ability, their appearance on music shows suspiciously fails every time. Fans go to these music shows forums/boards to request for appearance whenever a new song is released, but it falls on deaf ears. JYJ’s album might be the last chance they have to be invited to a music show before enlistment.

class="post-title" style="margin: 0px;"[NEWS] 140502 Kim Jae-joong and Im Si-wan join forcesby Lena

JYJ’s Kim Jae-joong and Z:EA’s Im Si-wan are working together on a drama for the first time, teaming up to play long-lost brothers in MBC’s upcoming “Triangle.”

Separated as children by unfortunate circumstances, Kim’s character Heo Young-dal takes to the streets as a petty thug while his younger sibling Yoon Yang-ha, played by Im, is adopted into a chaebol household to be groomed as the heir to a casino empire.

Their ill-fated paths converge on casino territory where both, unaware of their blood ties, fall for dealer Oh Jeong-hui, played by actress Baek Jin-hee, in what promises to become a high-stakes, soap-operatic love triangle.

At the press conference for the drama in Seoul on Wednesday, both Kim and Im displayed an easy camaraderie at odds with the sibling rivalry that is sure to unfold between their characters when the show starts airing next week.

As the two popular hallyu stars sat down to discuss their new project with the press, both admitted to being a bit starstruck when they first met.

“It was really amazing,” Im, 25, said of how he felt when he finally got to meet Kim.

“I was in awe too,” Kim, 28, said. “When I first saw Im in real life, my initial impression was that he was really good-looking and pretty.”

The two singer-actors bonded over meals and drinks. Im recounted how he was surprised when Kim ordered some mackerel, rice and side dishes.

“I thought he wouldn’t eat at all,” Im said, adding that he had envisioned Kim as someone shrouded in an aura of mystery. “Then I saw him eating that mackerel and rice and he suddenly seemed very human. It was good.”

Now that the ice has been broken, both stars are ready to tackle their latest roles with gusto.

This will be Kim’s fourth and Im’s fifth television drama to date.

For Im, this represents his first full-length series.

“Up until now I have primarily played the younger version of the leads,” Im said, referring to past child roles in hit series like MBC’s “Moon Embracing the Sun” and KBS’ “Man From the Equator.”

Im admitted to being concerned about the toll all those long hours of filming would take on him, but displayed determination to do his utmost by immersing himself completely in his role as a jaded and lonely heir.

Im described his dark hero, Yoon Yang-ha, as someone that people would envy, not pity. “My character is blessed with everything,” he said.

Im said he reached deep to find the empathetic core of his character, the source of all that emotional emptiness. “He lost his brothers when he was young. His father isn’t really his father and doesn’t really treat him like his son. He treats him like an heir, someone he needs to groom to take over his business.”

Im added that this is fairly new, dark territory for him, a contrast to previous roles, where he often played warm-hearted, kind and sweet supporting leads.

“Im is like a clean slate. That is one of his charms,” “Triangle” director Yoo Cheol-yong said. “I think he displays strengths and merits that make him well suited for the role of the younger brother.”

Meanwhile, director Yoo said he cast Kim because despite the singer-actor’s “soft and sweet” demeanor, there was a certain “sharpness” in his eyes.

“It’s a completely different role from those he has played before,” Yoo said. “He is doing a great job.”

Costar Lee Bum-soo, who will be playing the older brother to both Kim’s and Im’s leads, praised Kim, having worked with him on MBC’s “Dr. Jin.”

“While filming ‘Dr. Jin,’ Kim was always humble, responsible and reliable,” said Lee.

Kim seems to take his acting very seriously ― so seriously, in fact, that when he saw he had a shirtless scene coming up, he deliberately lost weight and did not bulk up to stay true to his character.

“Then a week before filming the scene they told me they would like to see a bit more weight on me,” Kim said, explaining how he had to put on muscle within a very short amount of time.

As for the long hours, Kim is embracing the whole process.

“When you are not sleeping a lot, you get sort of hazy and out of focus. Yet that state of mind seems to be in sync with my character, Yong-dal, who is a brash, lazy, not-quite-all-together sort of guy.”

“Triangle” starts airing May 5 on Monday and Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. on MBC.

Coming Soon: JYJ’s Comeback, Jaejoong’s Enlistment

The time has come for us to bid farewell to another of our idol oppas heading off to the military. Fans of our March Madness winnerJYJ‘s Jaejoong,  would have seen this coming for a while, since he mentioned his plans at his Japan solo concert last year. The exact date is still unconfirmed, but it’s estimated to be somewhere around the end of this year. The idol-actor made this statement at the production press conference for his upcoming drama Triangle, delivering both the good news and the bad.

20130315_seoulbeats_jaejoong3-300x208.jp

Triangle will probably be my last work before my enlistment. I don’t have an exact time frame on my enlistment but JYJ will be releasing an album in the second half of the year. I’ll be leaving after I conclude productions for that.

So the good news, JYJ will finally be releasing their long-awaited album, after focusing on their solo activities for the last three years. It’s astonishing to realize that their last comeback was with“In Heaven” in 2011, although they technically haven’t been away from the scene since Junsuand Jaejoong have remained active with their respective solo albums which met with critical acclaim. Considering that their own individual styles have diverged quite a bit from the group’s, it’ll be interesting to see both of them return to their JYJ roots, together with successful idol-turned-actor Yoochun. With the constantly evolving K-pop landscape, it’ll be interesting to see how the ever-so-fickle K-pop audience responds to JYJ’s comeback after three whole years.

20140502_seoulbeats_jyj_nii-300x163.jpg

After which, the entertainment industry will suffer a significant loss of talent as Jaejoong bids farewell to his fans and heads to the military. He will be the first of the original TVXQgroup to start doing his time, and Junsu is also rumoured to enter shortly after Jaejoong.

When asked about his desire to perform on music programmes, Jaejoong replied that it frustrates him to have to hide himself although he wants to meet his fans and perform for them. Fans have expressed their anger with SM Entertainment, that they continue to richard simmons-block JYJ from promoting on broadcasting stations through music and variety shows, although the lawsuit has already come to an end.

Will we get to see JYJ appear on broadcasting stations at least once before Jaejoong heads off to shave his glorious head of hair? Only time will tell; meanwhile, let’s enjoy the only ever broadcast performance of JYJ, to swim around in nostalgia-land for a bit.

 People's Choice: JYJ  class="entry-title" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; font-weight: 400;"ON: 05/03/2014, BY: ADMIN, IN: CREW REPORT,

One of the most popular Goodwill Ambassadors for the 2014 Incheon Asian Games is definitely JYJ as a K-pop idol boy band that is comprised of 24/7 hard working people

Always in the best manner, they seem that they spend their whole time partaking in different activities to create more opportunities for all those who love them. Their loyal fans want to see them in action throughout the year, and that is why they can truly be called “The People’s Choice”.

This article is written by an official member of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games bloggers, IAG Crew. Some contents might be different from official position of the Organizing Committee.

JYJ has been active as the honorary ambassadors of many government run projects, such as “The Faces of Korea”. This K-Pop group, along with many other famous Koreans such as Kim Yu-na, Park Ji Sung, Park Tae-Hwan, and Edward Kwon were all appointed to promote the 2010 G-20 Seoul summit. They also served as honorary ambassadors for the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), the World OKTA (World Overseas Korean Trader’s Association), and also for Jeju Island’s campaign to be designated one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. With JYJ’s help, the deciding committee voted the island as one of the new “Seven Wonders of Nature”.

The number of fans for JYJ increases everyday, and they are the trademark of professionalism and success for many events. They were the face of the “2011 Protecting Personal Identity Information Campaign” launched by the Korea Communication Commission and the Korea Internet & Security Agency, which was endorsed on print, radio, television, and cinema ads. JYJ performed at the first annual Asian Dream Cup organized by ex-Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-Sung’s Foundation at a stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Their attractive personalities drew many fans to the charity soccer match, in which JYJ’s Kim Junsu, a soccer enthusiast and captain of the South Korean entertainer’s soccer club “FC Men”, also played in.

The amount obtained from this charity match was donated to support the youth of Vietnam in sports and culture development. JYJ was then appointed as the goodwill ambassadors in August 2011 by the United Nations, to create awareness among the Asian people about HIV/AIDS. The talented group performed at many different events to promote alertness about HIV/AIDS and support efforts to end AIDS-related discrimination.

JYJ continues to remain at the top in terms of popularity amongst other K-Pop groups. They are loved and respected not only by Koreans, but fans from all over from the world. They have been attributed to have a great influence on promoting “Hallyu” culture through their music and their presence is growing more and more in Southeast Asia. JYJ is a source of inspiration for the younger generation in so many positive ways. Their charismatic personality has attracted people from many different regions and of all ages.

In February 2013, JYJ was appointed as the goodwill ambassadors to help raise awareness for the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon. They participated in producing a promotional music video and have also toured many Asian countries to spread awareness. In September 2013, a teaser of the official MV of 2014 Incheon Asian song ‘Only One’ by JYJ was released and quickly became viral and has been already viewed by millions of people.

class="at_ttl" style="font-weight: normal; padding: 0px; margin: 0px; list-style: none; clear: both;"Five Fun Facts About Kim Jaejoong

BY Julie Jones | May 06, 2014 10:45 AM EDT

Kim Jaejoong

In the first episodes of "Triangle," Kim Jaejoong has already impressed audiences with his portrayal of the reckless, violent and yet vulnerable thug Jang Dong Chul. It's an edgy noir role for the actor who has been described as the "prettiest man in Asia."

But as an actor and singer, he is full of surprises. Here are a few more facts you may not know about him.

1. He has some famous and attractive friends. He lived with singer and actor Kim Hyun Joong for a year when they were starting out and the two have remained close. He's also friendly with Ji Sung, his "Protect the Boss" co-star, Jin Yi Han, his "Dr. Jin" co-star and Jang Geun Suk, who is his neighbor. And of course he is close to Junsu and Park Yoochun, who supply the other J and Y in the band JYJ.

2. He has tattoos of Park Yoochun and Kim Junsu's names on his spine. He says they mean a lot to him and he will keep them forever.1.

In an interview with Esquire magazine he was asked why he got the tattoos.

"We are friends who have and who are realizing the same dreams, friends who suffered from the greatest pains and changed growing up," he said. "So, there's no regret. When I become an old man and when my grandchildren ask what the tattoos are about I won't feel shy sharing the stories."

Jaejoong said he derives strength just from the existence of his fellow JYJ members.

3. Jaejoong has eight sisters and is adopted. His adopted sisters did not know he was adopted when they were young. They babied him and liked to dress him in their clothes. After his biological parents gave him up for adoption, his mother remarried and he has a half-sister who looks like him. He remains close with his adopted sisters.

4. His classmates in school made fun of him when he said his dream was to be a singer. His voice needed work. So he kept practicing. He left home at age 15 to audition for SM Entertainment, working odd jobs just to make ends meet. From 2003 to 2010 he was the lead vocalist with the band TVXQ. Then together with fellow TVXQ members Yoochun and Junsu he formed the group JYJ.

5. He can speed read, which took some effort because he hated to read when he was a child

"I forced myself to develop the habit of reading books," he told Nylon magazine earlier this year. "I became a fast reader at some time. Maybe because of this I am quick to apprehend scripts."

Judging from his performance in "Triangle," he read the first few episode scripts very well.
