  1. Sigh... I'm so sad to lose  YS...:tears:. But Show sees the need to give credence to the foretelling. But what a life for YS. Never happy with family's evil deeds and ambition, couldn't escape the blood relation, unrequited love and dying for love. Sigh...

I was hoping Show would be kind to us all and use another way to explain away the foretelling.

YS would have loved the Joseon CP created. He could have contributed to the new era too. :tears:

Could've Dasan send Ra On's mother to replace the potion with a fake-poison?? Because I'm still wondering who the court lady/maid was who got to make the potion.

That will make a great beginning of ep 18! The collective intelligence and bravery of the good one-upping the evil. That will be so satisfying. At the same time, lulling the evil into a false sense of security. And because they are evil, they self-destruct as they fight for power among themselves. At the end, CP and all the good people will reappear with evidence to secure the end of the evil.

I was a bit confused because he hesitated before drinking it... But it doesn't make sense because he still has a lot of things to take care of.

I think he needs to stay out of Premier Kim's line of vision by faking death so that he can continue his investigation without calling unnecessary attention upon himself. He could have gotten some medicine from Dasan?

Also, with  CP out of the picture, the evil camp will have internal strife vying to be next in line for the throne.

Lee Yeong still eyerolling out of existence because of boredom when Eunuch Jang announces HY's visit.

So it wasn't the potion but the bowl which was poisoned? We get a nice focus on the ring touching the bowl...

UGH NOOOOO.... the flashback to the cutting of the bracelet and Ra On feeling something is wrong. My OTP! These two who are soulmates! :(

So what is this?? Poisoned or faking his death??

I'm hoping CP is faking death to ensure Premier Kim's guard is down so that CP can go in for kill. Much like pretending to visit the gisaeng while securing evidence to wipe out dumb and dumber.

Episode 17, how people find this boring is beyond me, but I have stopped being surprised by the strange way people think.

I get that some want more time between Ra-On and Lee-Yeong, even more scenes for Ra-On. The question is though, has this drama only been about them? No, it has always had the subplots, and for us loving great dramas those need to be resolved. So if this is the way episode 17 has to be to give us that, than I am all for it.

Me for one loved all the bromance we got in this episode. The twist and turns, that made this thread rage, despair, rejoice and to end with everyone going WHY?!!! This is what great dramas do; they make you feel something. They make you react towards the screen. It certainly doesn’t translate as something boring. (Sure everyone is entitled to their opinion, but please try to give us more than the reason; No Ra-On Lee-Yeong romance.

The only thing about this episode, that made my eyebrow rice, was at the end. Why was even Ha-Yeon in the position of giving/tasting something Lee-Yeong was going to drink? Isn’t that something for one of the eunuchs? They aren’t married even, so I don’t get how she can get that roll?

Hmmm... interesting observation.  Could it be because she wanted to show to CP that she would be the one with him to the end (as what she said to him earlier in ep17)? She mentioned that she brought his tonic to him because he usually drank it late when it was cold...  Just doing the wrong thing at the wrong time?  I thought that this was an ill-fated girl who had to love someone who could not love her and wanted to do something nice for the person but ended up hurting him...  Sigh...

I feel a bad omen for Yoon Sung. The conversation he was asking Yeong to go ahead and do whatever he thought was right.. Then when Yeong said he worried that Yoon Sung getting hurt and Yoon Sung said he worried he might want to protect his family.. and "whatever happens, there is no need to feel apologetic to each other" <--- this phrase makes me feel extra uneasy! Is that a sign that Yoon Sung will take a sword aimed at his grandfather or something? The way Yoon Sung didn't share the secret about the Queen's daughter with Yeong.. and the warning he was holding himself back because he shared a dirty blood tie(which he cannot deny) with the Queen further adds to the fear. Surely they are not going to kill him, right??? Byeongyeon's near death experience has already given me a heart attack.. so writer-nim.. please don't go down that dreaded path! :o

I may be wrong but I am optimistic.  I read it to mean that YS will do something to reveal his family's wrong doing and free himself from the guilt of being part of this family. Not so much taking a beating for them but more revealing of the wrong doings.  Almost like telling CP not to feel guilty for revealing the truth and himself not to feel guilty for revealing his family's wrong doings.

  7. I love ep 17!

I asked for bromance and show delivered it with my heart on a platter.  I was distraught watching and thinking BY was dying. Thank God BY had his deliverance from guilt and friendship "restored". But what a way to bring this out. I almost cried myself blind...

Now, I am anticipating YS's story. Show please give us the satisfaction. I want a good ending with YS successfully getting away from the guilt of family's wrong-doing and how he plays a part in righting the wrong without getting himself into serious harm.

Of course, CP and Ra On love story needs a good ending too with loads of lovey doveyness. Last but not least, CP needs to be a part of this better kingdom his is trying to create. I can't accept any less...

So, I was struck by a thought. What if Yeong takes the throne to be King, but only temporarily? Just long enough to hold an election for a new King chosen by the people? So, during that time, Yeong doesn't get married while he's finishing political reform.  As soon as the new King has been elected, Yeong abdicates in favor of the new King. Reassured that Joseon is in safe hands now, Yeong goes in search of Ra On so that they can have their life together, spindles, children, and all. He occasionally goes to the Palace to advise the King, but lives a retiring life for the most part with his beloved Ra On.

I would be happy with that. Though truth be told, as long as Yeong and Ra On can have a happy life together, I would be happy with just about anything.

Ok. I would be happy with that too. Is it possible to throw in the bromance whilst political reform is going on? I mean how beautiful it will be to have all 3 (CP. BY and JS) in the same screen?

  9. I ploughed through the comments here and saw some defending Ra On's reactions to keep CP, her love, safe as well as acted in character because of what had happened to her. Some felt disappointed with Ra On's character and that with bad things happening she chose to give up CP, to keep him safe.

Some of you probably have higher treshold for pain.... I don't like pain BUT I know sometimes pain is necessary to make story richer and helps us to appreciate the happy times and gives meaning and credibility to circumstances and character. In Moonlight, at least in the earlier episodes, we felt pain for certain characters but it was resolved quickly. The pain did not drag on. We see some light or an attempt to accept. This was done either with mini time jump and / or exposition of certain backstory. Within an episode, we get immense satisfaction, feeling the pain and watching the resolution. Show has created such strong expectations in me.

The last 2 episodes have been difficult for me. I was waiting for the familiar satisfaction Show has cultivated, after going through so much pain with the characters,  but it did not materialize. Please don't drag on the pain. Too many of my babies have suffered for too long. I can't bear to see CP or Ra On cry anymore... I can't bear to see BY struggle for too long. Give me the satisfaction Show. Don't drag it anymore.

  10. Some of my thoughts after watching ep 15 and ep 16:

    1) I'm so glad, in fact, I was deliriously happy to see the wedding being stalled. To me this means we will get our happily after for our OTP. Why else would drama keep CP single, if not to see him marry the right person?

    2) I may offend some to say this but I was disappointed with Ra On's idea of keeping CP "safe".  What was that silly knife-brandishing act all about? How was that keeping CP safe? He might be safe from the minions (for a very short time) but not from himself. We almost had to stomach his throw in the towel act when he gave in to marriage with HY. CP's song says it all, "I would rather feel all the pain. Don't worry about me. Even though it keeps hurting me, it is love, isn't it?" Please bring back the Ra On who bravely asked CP not to let go of her hand and who promised not to let go of CP's hand.

    3) Like many of you. I want to see bromance. The 3 gorgeous men (CP, YS and BY) collectively have more information and grey matter. Why are they not coming together to plan and discuss? Instead, time and again, we have to see dumb and dumber with Premier Kim plotting and planning together. This doesn't make sense to me. Viewers would rather swoon and coo over eye candy than "please fill in the blank as i have no words to describe scum and crusty old men" Drama, give me bromance. I don't want to see any of them hurt.

  11. Drama.... If you r going to hurt the OTP so much (not to mention breaking so many of our hearts with that wedding scene), where is the bromance? Please bring all 3 of them together, to compare notes, work as a team and bring down the dark side.

If what preview has shown us was flashback before OTP's meeting.... does that mean CP and/or Raon might still be arrested? I can't deal...

  12. After watching ep 14 and reading various theories of what will happen in ep 15, here r my thoughts:

    1) I don't think Chief Eunuch wrote that letter to Raon as I doubt he knew her whereabouts

    2) I believe only YS knows and I doubt he will share it with anyone, not even BY or CP.

    3) I believe CP wrote the letter to Raon cos he knew Chief Eunuch knew Raon Dad and he wrote it to lure Raon out to meet him. And he found out where Raon is because he tailed YS.

    4) I think PM Kim found out cos he tailed CP.

    5) I think Raon will be arrested at the meeting place and CP is not implicated because Raon pretended to hurt CP when the soldiers descended upon them.

    6) I think Chief eunuch will activate the white cloud gang to save Raon but fail due to PM Kim's spy in white cloud gang.

    7) CP, YS and BY will work together to save Raon.

At the very least bromance is what I hope for if I have to endure PM Kim's minions attacking my precious CP and Raon.

  13. My guess for ending....the preview of ep 15 showed army officer Choi approaching MY looking serious.... I think that is him being sent by higher ups to invite MY to join the special force as a doc as there is a mass casualty somewhere.... That's the start of launching her career as a doctor without borders and working alongside SJ. That is my dream ending.

  14. I have been lurking, reading all your comments. Thank you so much for making the wait for ep 9 bearable.

I love the poetic way the writers tell the story. I love the land mine scenes before the KISSES. SJ asked MY to trust him and he would save her. Much like how he said it during the first car wreck incident when she was found hanging on a cliff. She was resistant then to heed his advice or follow his instructions. This land mine scene, she followed his instructions. They filmed how carefully she followed after his foot steps. I love it. It showed that she had stopped fighting him and her feelings for him.
