I dont think i mind this ending!!

  2. One observation made when watching SLA is about the self-serving attitudes of some of the so-called elites of the society. In the music university, some of the Profs ( those born with a silver spoon) such as Prof Kang and Cello Prof, expect people to serve their needs and not consider others'. Much like YW, Mdm Han and Chairman; how they used HW and others to their advantage. In contrast, SJ worked hard for everything and didn't think anyone owed him a living.

    Just some thoughts...
    (1) I find it kind of interesting how the writer keeps using Prof Kang to explore the idea of faith (religious faith). Particularly at the beginning of ep 12, Prof Kang tells HW that he wont divorce her. The reason he gives though is that how his family is all Christian and that his mother is actually a worship leader of some sort. I dont think he's a true Christian judging his behaviour (he went to a fortuneteller too!). Anyway, I find it really interesting how this drama even deals with religious hypocrisy. I feel the writer is making social/moral/religious criticism here - the person who uses religious faith to justify not getting a divorce actually doesnt have a religious faith, for goodness sake, not just his faith is fake, his marriage is also fake. Juxtapose that with HW and SJ who are seen to be morally wrong but their relationship is true. I dont want to get into another discussion about what's right and what's wrong and I still think if you are a true Christian, you would always come to the same conclusion about this issue. The fact is that Prof Kang is not a real Christian though.. but I find it interesting how thought provoking this is.
This is not the only reference to religious faith by Prof Kang in ep 12... later in the ep, he tells SJ to give religious faith a go and says that it has helped him during hard times. I dont know what to make of this at all. What prompted him to say that? Why is he saying that to SJ? What does he want to achieve by saying that? Whether that was true at all or not i'm not sure, i mean there are so called Christians who dont really understand Christianity and just use it as a type of comfort when they feel they need it and then throw it to the corner when they are asked to make the leap of faith or make sacrifices. Anyhow, I'm quite fascinated about this topic...and how it's been brought up more than once through Prof Kang... I might come up with some thoughts if i keep thinking about it but would love to hear any opinions from you guys
    (2) I swear there is something up with the cello student.... I just cant figure out what they're trying to do with her character and what her purpose is to the story... what is the significance of her asking SJ to do a duet with her? Maybe she feels the whole school are full of corrupt ppl from the upper social class while SJ is not? Or is there something else?
    (3) I think the guy who took a photo of HW's shoes and tried to collect hair samples is actually someone from Prof Kang's side. The camera showed the guy looking at his phone so he was the one texting Prof Kang? What made him suddenly send him that text about someone else on SJ and HW's case? He's come all the way to this place and there's only him spying on them.. unless he sensed someone else in the shadows doing the same thing??? The guy at night was the same guy as in the morning right? Unless the guy is trying to get more money out of Prof Kang and lied to him lol
    (4) I've read lots of analyses (in Korean) about the scene incl the conversation before and after the Billy Joel song but none seem to have talked about this part.. when HW mentions how she used to wait in a cafe near the club that YW went to, waiting for her.. SJ butts in and says, it's weird.. HW asks him what's weird but he says, it's nothing. I wonder why he had that reaction? What was weird to him?
That's all from me for now.. too sleepy and hungry to think.... SLA killing my brain cells lol
