SK is super SMOOOOOOOOTH when it comes to women -- note the way he hits on Jae Hoon. If he made a direct pass at her, she would have become suspicious that he is hitting on her right after meeting her dad. instead, he does the reverse; he ignores her and then lays his cards -- he is VERY ambitious and he is mad at himself that he is interested in her. he tells her exactly what kind of person he is.. kind of makes him irresistible to her..... it is not like she can blame him later for using her because she is offering herself to be used.. sheesh.. he seriously knows how to woo women; first Angelina and now Jae Hoon

I was also wondering the same thing if its SK's kid.... initially i thought the photo revealed some sleazy info like she was working as a prostitute in Las Vegas or was a showgirl or something like that but did not expect to see a kid.. that was certainly a surprise... -
It was very sad to watch Madame Bok getting lost and disoriented. It is very difficult for the family as well as the individual when older citizens get lost. Something similar happened to this uncle we knew. He went for his usual morning walk and got completely disoriented and lost. He stopped people on the street and asked them to take him home. A passerby took him to a police station. Meanwhile his family wondering why he didnt come back from his walk were searching for him. Thinking that perhaps he had been hit by a car, went to all the nearby hospital asking if there was any elderly gentlemen who had been admitted. Finally after hours, they went to the police station where they found him. After that, they always made sure that the uncle had a cell phone with him and they also placed a sheet of paper in his shirt which contained contact numbers....

since we have a few days till the next episodes, a q for everyone out there...
what are some of the highlights of the drama so far for you?
here's my pick: "the chronicles of the sea" -- me thinks the writer really feels inspired by fish
-- coiffured hair and fishy tales: the showdown; Madame Bok and Angelina meet, greet and size each other up for the first time over a plate of fish
-- the path to love is amok with the sweet smell of stinky fish: Cha Don being force fed fish by Jae In and later Madame Bok with lots of love
-- talk to me fish: CD finds the bug in the fish and Manager Yang encourages the president to say "sorry" while Cha Don dramatically refuses bribes.. -
ahoy @rightsanity
q for people -- its easter weekend; will shows still air? -

Still, how wonderful is it that a drama can make us think about such things? And that we can discuss it with people from all over the world. This is definitely one of the good things about this industry. -
@orion -- people always get what they deserve... you may not see it but for all you know, behind their facade, they could be miserably unhappy.. i used to feel the same way thinking how come these people are not getting their due but in time, they did...
in one of the movies, there was a line - "good men -- they fall but rise again; bad men -- they rise, but when they fall, no one knows what happens to them"..... -
@orion -- angelina is not a good person and her acts are not by any account justified. so what goes around comes around and so by that respect, she is reaping in spades... but this drama is interesting in that they present a world that is not completely black or white much like reality. angelina is well-written and the actress has done a great job in managing to give a boost of humanity to her; perhaps thats why some viewers actually feel sorry for her.
this is difficult to explain. this is not the kind of sorry where you feel bad for someone going through a terrible time. its more like a sorry pity. its what you feel when you see someone who was terrible to you going through some difficulty -- you know that they are reaping exactly what they sowed but you neither gloat or delight in their misery, you just pity them.
in my personal experience, this happens when you see glances of their humanity. i was actually surprised when it happened because i disliked them intensely and i really thought i would be glad to see them suffer but i wasnt. i was just sorry for them. now these are people that i disliked so much that i mistrust and am super wary of anyone who comes from that town. (its another thing that almost everyone i meet from that place seems to be from that mould which only solidifies my opinion) now, i am not claiming that i am very forgiving, i am not; there are lots of times when i am delighted to see people get exactly what they sowed... those are usually people i dont really see them as a whole... only see their terrible side... so does that make sense? -
ok, q for everyone.. when i first heard about this drama in dramabeans, the synopsis was "Heroine is the daughter of a loan shark and breaks hero out of a psychiatric hospital by pretending to be his wife." http://www.dramabeans.com/2013/01/incarnation-of-moneys-teaser-and-stills/
so does this mean at some point CD will end up in a mental hospital again? or is this one of those early infos released to the public that is so not what the drama ends up being about?? -
isnt it sweet that Madame Bok is touched that CD considers her a kind of mother figure?..
poor angelina -- so desperate for love and so lonely; she even commits a murder just for Se Kwang only for the rat to throw her under the bus... -
i love the little smile that CD gives JI after she gives her presentation at the bank....

pechumori said: Incarnation of Money Hwang Jung Eum's Highlighter fashion signals the onset of spring

Hwang Jung Eum's Highlighter fashion captivated the attention of the netizens. In the recently aired episode of the SBS weekend drama, "Incarnation of Money", Hwang Jung Eum wore fluorescent shoes that announced the start of spring. Greatly hurt by Lee Cha Don's (Kang Ji Hwan) betrayal, Bok Jae In (Hwang Jung Eum) got drunk and tearfully confessed her love. The simple black trench coat and denim shirt together with neon colored shoes was a drastic style. Hwang Jung Eum wore the Limited Edition Rachel Cox designer shoes,

@morwena -- its true that people have through the ages and continue to do to this day stupid things in the name of love. even crimes of heinous travesty are done in the name of love. but within the context of IOM, i wonder if the writer is leaning towards the thought that love too is a commodity like money. people love but it is a kind of a double edged sword -- can harm you and be used against you as well and therefore, a kind of weakness; Se Kwang does not love anyone except himself and therefore less vulnerable to that kind of threat...
-
BTW -- I am really enjoying the dialogues in this drama.
Some of my favorites lines (not exact quotes but from what i remember):
that corrupt politician in the earlier episodes -- even baby crocodiles bite...
Hyuk's daddy -- there is no eternal handshake
Madame Bok -- there is no such thing as good money or bad money; money is money even if you snot on it...
any others, my fellow viewers? -
@morwena -- i didnt finish giant nor did i watch history of salaryman but from what i gather, this team is not high on romance quotient.. I kept thinking that Jae In is supposed to be a major character but so far the screen time is so less -- even Madame Bok, Uncle Pal, Manager Yang, Secretary have more screen time then her. This drama has a very strong theme -- money, how money can corrupt and revenge. As Cha Don says sadly to a drunk Jae In, there is no room for romance at this stage!!
-
@morwena -- in the disagreement with his dad, it sounded like Hyuk has done everything his father ever ordered whether he liked it or not. So he probably never/hardly dated since it would have interfered with his work and daddy's plans for his life... As his daddy said, it does not matter if he likes her or not, he can always divorce her later.. But agree with ya, he was embarrassingly and adorably awkward... love his expressions through out the dinner conversation.. he seriously is no casanova...
For Jae In and Madame Bok, dating Hyuk is simply a step in getting a seat in the Yellow Sea Credit Union. Don't believe that either of these two ladies have any intention of carrying it further than that.. For both, Cha Don is their choice.. Kind of cool to see a drama where there is no parental/child conflict on choice of partner.... -
the apple does not fall far from the tree -- loved the way Jae In got those snooty accountants to toe her line....
-
@morwena -- I agree with ya. Even I was feeling kinda sorry for Angelina. To go to extremes for a guy who won't even acknowledge you in public as his romantic partner.
I love Madame Bok. Wasn't she so cute when she says that she likes CD as much as JI and is doing all this to push them both together... I guess if she couldn't have CD as a son, then a son-in-law is the next logical step! CD was so funny while trying to pretend that he is not jealous -- love the reactions of the manager and secretary when Uncle Pal drops the news; -
did anyone else notice that in the scene where Jae In confessed to Cha Don, she was wearing flourescent yellow heels? my eyes were almost blinded by the impossible yellow colour!! but bright bright bright shoes seems to be current shoe trend in korea -- in 100 years inheritance, Joo Ri keeps wearing bright shoes.
as a drama viewer, I feel like I should protest -- these huge blob of colour on the screen that one is unable to look away even while there is important dialogue being spoken..... -
@gerrytan8063 -- thanks for the info; does this exist for all cars or just the high-end ones.. havent heard of this before....
-
q -- since when do cars have black boxes? does this exist in real life?
-
isnt Uncle Pal Do so cute the way he gets excited that Cha Don has brought Jae In home?
-
random q -- in ep 13, when Jae In is binge eating since she is upset about Cha Don, what is she eating? is that icecream? is that pizza cone?
-
KJH has a mole right smack on the centre of his nose --- seriously distracting!!

CD realized that he was no better then the two prosecutors when he was also consumed with greed.. the difference is that CD has a chance to change the course of his direction...
Love Jae In's reaction when she realizes that CD might actually like her.. but no way, is she going to make it easy for him..
=D>
Madame Bok was so hilarious when CD got jealous. "are you her husband? why are you setting a curfew?..."
by the way what does CD mean when he mumbles to Madame Bok that it was better when Jae In was fat? So he never had to worry about other men hitting on her?
