The scene of Lee Cha Don walking in the beach while carrying his mother at his back was taken at Silmi Beach in Muuido Island in South Korea. To maximize the effect and have the background glow of the beautiful yellow sea, the scene was shot at 6:30 pm. The beach was used as the location for other dramas like "Boys Over Flowers" and "Stairway to Heaven". Until now, the set is preserved and revived with memories of visitors.

regarding the panic caused by mass withdrawal in banks -- a little background on banking;
a bank is required by law to hold a very small percentage (5-10%) of cash; this amount differs from country to country and is set by the national reserve bank. the rest of the money/reserves is invested, bought, sold etc. when there is a deficit/shortage with more than expected withdrawals, the bank will borrow from the national reserve bank or from other banks to cover the shortfall. all of this happens behind the scenes on day-to-day basis and this is how partly banks make money on the money that you deposit with them. The reduction of mass withdrawals is one reason why there is a limit on how much money you can withdraw from the ATM and the requirement of minimum balance.. I'll stop here so I don't bore people..
now in this drama, the YSCU here has been accused of embezzlement which means other banks, including the national reserve, will not immediately release any money to cover the shortage. so this results in further shortage which can incite further panic...
this has happened in real life and with real banks.... the case that immediately comes to mind is Nick Leeson. He was a trader in Singapore for the Barings Bank and his speculative trading resulted in a huge loss the bank had to cover. when the news came out, there was a mass panic and people tried to withdraw their money but they couldnt.... The Barings bank collapsed and huge amounts of people lost their entire live savings. -
the writing in this drama is sharp and full of quote-worthy lines.. does anyone know if these are sayings that is common in the Korean language or are these ones the writer made up?

@pechumori -- I like dangly, bright earrings and I noticed those green ones because it is something i would buy personally.. You are right, she was wearing other earrings but none of them stood out to me at all... though I must say Madame Bok and Angelina are wearing some might fine jewellery.. thanks for the info on those as well...

@evok, @gaeinalee -- thanks for the recommendations.. have added them to my list of dramas to watch when there is a drama drought..
one of the most memorable revenge dramas, though it wouldn't be classified as such, would be "Gumiho: tale of the fox's child" -- it wasnt one of those dramas with a huge following but I found it absolutely moving and poignant even though it was a fantasy/horror sageuk. has anyone seen it? -
my fellow drama viewers -- any other revenge dramas like IOM that might be interesting to watch?

@andy78 -- i agree with you; feel that CD had contingency plans if things did not proceed the way he had anticipated; his smile was predatory to say the least; CD looked like a wolf who finally appeared in front of the prey he had been chasing through the forest; since he worked with these bozos, he would have anticipated that at some point, they will figure it out..
wonder when it is the reporter's turn.. btw, was not sure what to make to SK's expression when Angelina refused to believe him and called him the devil. he almost looked hurt; seemed a bit bizarre... -
Q -- what is with Uncle Pal Do? doesnt he have a family of his own or anything?.....

does Jae In have only one pair of earrings? she was wearing this in ep 14 during her fight with Cha Don right after he met up with Angelina at the golf course. Now in ep 19, she wears the same. perhaps, these are her lucky earrings or Cha Don earrings... Woman, go shop for earrings -- its super fun; there are other accessories besides handbags that a woman needs!!! -

@pechumori -- i tried to see exhibition of fireworks many years back... few months back, i was considering watching "be strong something" in which KJH acted but it seems too long a commitment with its 100+ eps... anyone knows if it is worth the effort?

@pechumori -- thanks for the pics from that telemovie "relation between face, heart and love"; i checked out that movie and much as i REALLY wanted to like it for KJH, it was such a terrible movie. poor thing, he was trying so hard but it was bit of a train wreck. the script was seriously hackneyed and the character of the lady was so idiotic. but it was fun to see Jae In pop in and be the second clingy lead..

@evok -- I dont think Madame Bok is faking not knowing her old hubby... people with alzheimers tend to remember people as they were and have a hard correlating to the person as they are now. my grandmother had alzheimers and her brother came to visit. she greeted him warmly, chatted and then went inside and asked my aunt who he was. when my aunt told her, my grandmother's response was something like, "don't be silly. my brother is tall, thin and good looking. this man is old and fat." then she went back and continued to chat with her brother. she knew he was someone she knew but she had no idea who he was.... at that time, she could still recognize her daughters and grandchildren. in later years, she could not tell who we were exactly to her but she knew we were family and always greeted us warmly.
madame bok recognizes that he looks good as gentlemen of jingojae and so in that sense she recognizes him... it is still early stages and so she would know who Cha Don and Jae In are... -
CD realized that he was no better then the two prosecutors when he was also consumed with greed.. the difference is that CD has a chance to change the course of his direction...
Love Jae In's reaction when she realizes that CD might actually like her.. but no way, is she going to make it easy for him..

Madame Bok was so hilarious when CD got jealous. "are you her husband? why are you setting a curfew?..."
by the way what does CD mean when he mumbles to Madame Bok that it was better when Jae In was fat? So he never had to worry about other men hitting on her?
