Things that I liked not So related:

Court Lady Oh. Her love and care for Soo is so strong. She’s willing to do anything to protect Soo, she’s almost desperate but she is helpless. Sadly, Soo doesn´t want to be saved. She just blindly trusts the snake, love the snake... I also love to see CLO interrupting Wook’s marriage proposal: best timing ever!

The actress who plays CLO is brilliant…

We start with the Kiss… and what strikes me is So reaction´s. He’s devastated… and maybe he feels a little empty? After the turmoil of emotions recently lived, he surely feels bad for what he had done to Soo… but excuses don´t work for him. Soo feels bad; he must help relieve her feelings…

As a man of action he just takes her to the sea… What do we get? Another wonderful horse riding, a beautiful landscape, the most beautiful close-ups, So upfront words and…  we get to see for the first time the (in)famous hairpin I don´t know how many times I swoon over this sequence or how many times I replayed it!

So: I was always forced to leave here. I still don't know why I had to leave. I have never brought misfortune. I don't slaughter animals for fun. I don't use my sword carelessly on people either. Yet why do I still have to leave?

 

 

Soo rejecting for the second time So’s offer to leave together…

Soo: I want you to live with your heart at ease, Your Highness. Even if it's out of the palace somewhere... live without bring wronged or spilling blood, and live life smiling. I will... if you go with me.

Soo: I am a court lady. I have to live in the palace.

So: Then I will not leave either.

 

 I know Soo was right to feel scared over his answer, but nonetheless this part always made me laugh! And to justify myself, I must remember you all that So is a prince and (like Wook said in earlier) to protect what a he wanted in those times the natural action is to kill (whether we like it or not)

 

 

Soo: Also... I have feelings for another.

So: Baek Ah?

Soo: No, it's not Baek Ah.

So: It's fine then. As long as it's not Baek Ah. If it were any another man, I might have killed him.

Soo: What?

 

 

With Soo and especially after she covered his scar, So is confident. As I said before, he’s a man of action and a very upfront man. He’s a man of no disguises, no lies and no regrets; he aims for the kill and this time for Soo’s heart.

 

So: When I called you mine on the day that Yeon Hwa was beating you I already considered you

my person on that day. You saw me for who I was. There was no need for explanations or excuses.

You say you're afraid of me? I don't believe it. You are my only confidante. So, I am not sorry for anything. Not for kissing you or bringing you out here. Also... threatening you not to have feelings for another man... I am not sorry at all.

So: Take this. I have long wanted to give you something like this.

Now don´t get me wrong. I have to admit that everything Soo said was right… it’s only that I’m crazy in love with So, so of course I can´t understand how can she resists his charms…  

 

 

Horse riding back to the palace… and this make it to my most swooning moments in the drama. I love the way he looks, their closeness, the way his face bents to her almost like he was about to touch her face, to caress her… his smiley face… his pony tail!

And to spoil everything, the dynamic duo came along… And I love how So is all “don´t you dare take my person from me… away with you!” and I loveeee how Soo took So’s part and agrees to go with him. Batman & Robin couldn´t do a thing but fret over it. I love the dumb/hateful look in their faces and I loveeee the triumph look in So’s face. (BTW I couldn’t find a gif of the scene when So hold the reins to keep Soo apart from Jung.. if someone has or find one, please share!... yes I’m counting on you blue)

CLO is not too happy to see Soo coming from outside the palace with So. But So can see through CLO’s harsh words and it’s depending on her to take care of Soo

Intrigue at the palace: they´re trying to dirty Moo and use So as a scapegoat. Two birds killed with one stone. Daddy King is willing to sacrifice So and send him back to Shinju even when he knows So is innocent… Moo doesn´t say a word to defend So (I think Moo is a sweet brother but sometimes he’s too weak for my tastes!). It seems years have passed but it was only a few days since the King was singing So praises and Moo and Jimong were happy about it. Such volubility angers me. Well we already knew the King was like that, he did the same thing to Wook’s family before…

Angry So confronts evil Queen

So: Was it not enough for you to bother me as much as you have? When will you leave me alone?

 

Of course So won´t believe his mother’s fake promises, will he? For just a tiny moment he seems to doubt. I think his love for his mother, his craving for her acceptance is rather foolish. He must know by now that he mustn’t trust a single word she said… Yet he wants to believe…

Party time… everyone seems to enjoy the games but So. He steps up to out the Queen plans, doesn´t he? But he interrupts himself when he sees Soo. At first he thinks he can solve anything, no one will know what the Queen was plotting and Moo and Soo will both be save… it’s only when he feels the poison effects on his body that he realized he can´t defeat evil Queen (BTW I never could read evil Queen expression… was she for a moment worried about So? If so, it doesn´t last long… until the end she looks defiantly at So with a self-complacency smile (and I just want to punch her in the face!).

So is trying very hard to control his pain… even Soo notices something is off. I have to say this is one of the most memorable scenes in the drama. All thanks to JG’s acting. From his happy face when he thought everything will be fine, to the pained face when the poison started to act. The way he admits his mother outsmarted him, she was killing him and was using so as the instrument. How painful is it! The look in eyes, the way his face, his mouth trembled, his shaking hands, the veined arms and his sad smile of acceptance… JG kills it… bows to him for making this powerful scene so epic! (I’m crying while writing this)

Finally Moo mans up and speaks for So (about time you redeem yourself!). Soo makes her exit and so does So. Another mindblowing acting from JG… the veined neck…

I don´t know the PD but i've only read good comments about forest of secrets.. about the writer i watched Queen In Hyeon's Man, The Three Musqueteers  and W and liked them all... but Nine: Nine times travels is LOVE! and you know what? their leading men are awesome!!! So this new drama is a must see for me! (unless the actors sucks). Meanwhile he could do a movie... i'm just dying to see him in a strong project.

Random observation: Snake Wook says after Soo confirms that she is the one who covered So’s scar, “You can get into trouble for touching the face of a prince”. Just how many times have Soo touched So and his face in the last episode alone? And So allowed it too!

This scene kills me everytime... i'm completely on So's side... sometimes i must force to remember that there is a dark side of him... that he's a killer... that he's ruthless... but the thrut is that i also love that part of him. I can see the hurt puppy and the dangerous wolfe in him... and that contrast is what made his character epic!

First of all @agathe welcome! I'm so happy to see some one new here! the more the merrier 

Second, i was absent for just a single weekend and so many things happened: the IU concert, the SBS super fast appearnce (bw it was unfair! i was expecting at least 5 minutes!!!), the IG updates, the scuba diving pics, baby pics... I am a happy fan indeed 

 

Now i didn´t notice the scuba diving pics were new... i never read the tshirt date (shame on me for being so careless) i just read Okinawa and authomaticaly thought it was for the photoshoot... but now i'm excited! why would he be so secretive about his gong to Okinawa if not because it was part of a new project.. ok maybe i'm delusional and just need him in a new project soon... but hey i can dream!!

 

Also I'm loving your confessional post! and i´m happy to say that no matter when he junkieness started, right now we all love JG to pieces!!

 

Now about the parades i have to say: guys you are too much!!! as far as i love them all i can´t keep with them all!!! i'm the kind of girl who can focus in one or two things at the time... still i will try my best to join them all and meanwhile i'll enjoy them all for sure

You are so right..  That's what made me so mad at Soo (even when I love her and want her to be forever happy with So and little Seol).  I understand that she's afraid but her reaction doesn't match the personality we've seen until now. And it's  not only the bamboo forest scene,  it was also when she fights with Eun's,  when she took CR place,  when the assassin hold her and she bites him,  when she cut her arm..  She's always willing to take any measures to protect what she wants,  even when she's scared...  Then why doesn't she do the same thing? Why doesn't she confront  So?  Where is my Soo? 

It would be so good to see him telling the truth to BA.  Whatever he does or jokes I think he would be understanding and would give her a good advice

And I remember the Internet fervor that aroused because of the ending of the episode..  Thanks to it I'm here in soompi

i always tought Jimong was using reverse psycology in that scene... and i still hope we will see the footage from the hankie scene... i firmly believe we deserved it! maybe like the classified files it would be released years from now on  (i seriously hope they release them now... though i can wait forever... i hope i'm not dead if they ever realesed them. lol)

MLSHR Episode 9 Review

 

What a heartbreaking episode!

 

As always, here are the things not So related I like about this episode:

1.-The King, General and Jimong picking princes for SD marriage into the royal family

2.-CLO telling Soo about her love story. She’s like a real mother to Soo. Always caring and worrying and trying to warn her, so she won´t commit the same mistakes

3.-SD. What can I say? Put of the girls my favorite character

4.- Once again the instrumental music

 

Now for So:

 

 

Gwanjong… and it’s a wonder how can he turns from a sweet boy to evil king in a second.

I won´t start complaining about how much I hate Soo’s attitude towards So… at least not yet. She was in shock and she doesn´t have the time to process the revelation. And she looks for Jimong to find an answer to her fears…

Now this is the scene when my heart started to break. Because, how sad is it that after 15 years you finally call your father “father”? It’s a bitter sweet scene: The king saying he is proud of his son, Moo showing the most satisficed face ever (he’s such a good brother to So), Jimong all smiles and the So. It’s like he can´t believe that the King is speaking nicely to him. He who was always treated like a beast is receiving a little of affection, of recognition from his father… He who deserves so much is so happy to receive so little…

If my heart started to break last scene, with this one is a total wreck. OMG. Soo how could you! I got that you are scared, but he is the same So you promised to remain unchanged a few hours ago! Every line of him breaks my heart:

Ok. With this last one I’m positive dead. Especially when we know that by the end of the episode Soo would reject him saying she’s scared of him. She obviously forgot her own promise “A person like this is going to become that cruel?  I can't believe it. Choi Ji Mong said I should never get involved. I could help him and change Gwangjong's future.” Now I wonder when Soo turned into Wook… because she’s now full of broken promises…

So is still oblivious of Soo rejection. And it is only natural, because she’s been his friend, his confident, the one who always understands him, the one he could trust, his person for a long time… So her determination to help him turned out in a recipe for him to make his own makeup, so she could keep him in distance… and I’m really mad

So is so sweet, he gives Eun and SD the best present he could think of: a tree. And to So trees are friends… sadly that happy family moment (for everyone lest Eun) ended with Soo new vision. I did say before that I hate Soo’s visions, didn´t I? and of course she ended making the worst of her mistakes: she warned Wook against So (and as we know this was the turning point for Wook. The moment he became really aware of So, and turned into his enemy

Dinner with evil family.  This scene is so powerful and awesome. Like almost every So/Queen Yoo encounter. Everyone did a good job in this scene, even little Jung who finally say something sensible “You ask him to murder a person at a family dinner? If you were going to raise us as enemies why did you give birth to us, Mother?” And of course, So reactions outshines everything. He’s just a boy desperate for his mother’s love. That’s why he fell for the act Queen evil Yoo sets. It’s so sad to see him chocking when evil Queen offered him some meat… and it’s sad but a relief when he finally noticed that all was an act and discovered her true intentions “Kill the Crown Prince. It wouldn't be the first time you've killed someone for me.”

Side Note: did you noticed the almost imperceptible trembling in So's mouth... JG is really awesome...

 

 

Now for the first time So considers being a king… even if it is to get back at his evil mother. His final words before leaving are for the kill: “I was not manipulated. I knew and crawled into that seat. The food I ate here was not so bad. Still, you should just eat with your family. Do not call me in here again.”

 

Maybe you wonder if by now I had a heart left to be broken… I don´t know… but then what is this thing inside me that is hurting so much?

So is heartbroken, despite his words he truly loves his mother and wants to be loved back. He’s angry at himself for falling for her tricks. He’s desperate because after the rain ritual he thought he got a chance to be recognized as a person, as a son by their parents. He had hoped against hope and he was deceived.  So, where could he run to look for solace, for understanding?

He can´t believe it! Not from Soo. His pain is so palpable…

 

So: “Not you too! Don't push me away. Don't tell me leave. Don't tell me that I bring misfortune and that I'm an animal. At the very least, you can't do that to me. You are... my person.”

Soo: “I am not your person, Your Highness.”

So: “You are my person. You belong to me. You are mine! Without my permission, you cannot leave me. You cannot die either. You are completely my person.”
