P.O was a guest on knowing brothers, he spoke about PBG and SHK.
he told PBG during encounter shooting that he was going to appear on KB, PBG told P.O that he was a huge fan of the show and wished that he could also go with P.O. The guests told him that he should have bought PBG along with him.
P.O said he doesn’t have many scenes with SHK, when he shot his first scene with her - he pumped himself to be in a professional state of mind, but the moment he said his line “ isn’t this the person on tv?” SHK turned her head in his direction and gave his a little smile, breaking character P.O also started to smile back at her so that shot had to be scrapped.

Was The very first preview of the drama a spoiler? We haven’t seen them wearing these outfits right?
His shirt is pink, not white like their first meeting and she is wearing something like the long jacket she wore at the airport (episode 12) but she is wearing a dress underneath instead of the jeans that she wore at the airport.
The scenes of JH are all shot in the day, full of laughter and people AND his hair is long, how it was when we first see JH in the drama. But it can’t be the old JH because they never met after that night. Then SH is walking all alone at night in Cuba, it’s quiet and not a soul in sight.
What’s going on? Is it his spirit? did he just move to Cuba and let his hair grow again?
Or have they both passed away in old age and their spirits have come back to the place where the love began, just like what Old Samuel predicted.

So yeah, may be somehow their love story reflects that of Samuel and his wife
Don’t forget that when SH was scared to be alone JH promised SH that she would never be alone anymore and he would never be further than a metre away from her, even that was too far for SH so he changed it to 10 cm.
Would JH really let SH face death all alone ? He will always be no more than 10 cms away.

I’m crying here, not ready to say bye to Kyo for two years. Being a SHK fan is the toughest job in k drama world, when she is not working we won’t get to see her but then it’s so fulfilling to be her fan.
I want her to continue working this year so badly! We don’t even see magazine covers anymore.

Agree! Whether the love story has a “happy ending” really depends on how the person narrating the story defines happiness and ending. JH’s views of a happy ending to a true love might be very different from what people would call happily ever after.
Like you, I think the story is being narrated, most probably by one of the main leads and I am tipping in favor of JH being the narrator. I think the snapshots are indicative of memory but also remind me of those illustrations in fairy tales, especially since @stardustvoid pointed out the painting of the little prince, I can’t help but draw connections between the little prince and his rose.
The little prince and his beloved rose watching the sunset remind me of JH and SH’s encounter at Malecon beach.
For me the way the drama has been presented is reminiscent of a book with illustrations and if JH is the narrator, I can’t help think that the entire drama is actually him sharing his story where it’s something like The Notebook - An old JH is reciting their story, in this scenario they did get the conventional happy ending - SH has Alzheimer’s and he retells their story to her to remind her of their shared memories and the pictures are the illustrations of their story or she has passed away and JH - just like the old widow teacher and Samuel is sharing his love story with someone young who is also in love.
I don’t know why but I think that if one of them passes away then the other will too. Even the first time they met, they cheated death together - a car crash which could have resulted in his death and SH almost falling down in her drugged state.
The two of them are a lot like Noah and Allie from The Notebook, so the ending to Encounter should be something heartbreakingly fulfilling like it was in The Notebook , JH and SH’s love deserves that “ending”

It’s almost over
This must be the last week of drama filming, I hope the cast gets together to watch the last episode.
I get anxiety when I realize they have ONLY 4 more episodes to give this drama the ending that it deserves, it’s going to be a challenge. Still wish that TVN would extend it by a week and they should definitely do a special episode to explain all the artwork.
Not including the conclusion of JH and SH’s relationship there is the mysterious death of PR team manager’s brother, the crisis at Donghwa, SH’s future role at Donghwa, MIL’s revenge plot, CSH’s relationship with her mother, WS and his mother, does WS redeem himself rather can he redeem himself, does HI ever confess her feelings to JH, the relationships between LDC and Sec Jang, Driver Nam and Pr team leader, HI and KJM.

I keep oscillating between thinking there is going to be a tragic or happy end. There are arguments to be made for both possibilities, the
writers have laid down a trail of bedcrumbs; some just to cause confusion in our minds.
If you have 17 minutes to spare, find a quiet corner of your room and listen to this audio excerpt from the World’s End Girlfriend, the book JH was reading episode 9 and he quoted that poem to SH in the last episode.
There are several themes that will jump at you after listening to this excerpt. It’s hauntingly good, dealing with themes of parting, love,memory, death, the impossible becoming possible?, hope, time.
I know it ends with a cliffhanger, still trying to find the complete book in English.
These goosebumps enduring lines, in quotes are lines from the book; the other text are just my observations.
”Metasequoia, the living fossil”
( the tree was considered extinct but a miraculous discovery in China earned this tree the nickname of a living fossil, what was once considered dead and gone, came back to life)
“There is a Metasequoia tree at the end of the path he is walking and this is the end of the world where he and his girlfriend will someday sit together, leaning with their backs against the rough trunk of the tree. As fire and tears seep into each other or as the moon and rainbow would”
( JH says his only path is towards SH, since she is his entire world ; his world ends with SH. He tells SH to lean against the tree and she thinks it’s an odd pose. Can fire and tears seep into each other? And a moon and a rainbow, together? But if the Metasequoia could come back to life and make the impossible possible, then is there truly any definite certainty that fire and tears can’t come together?)
”love will belatedly fade away, at a touch, just a touch, without a trace, not a mark, like snow in March”
( is love fleeting? Can the memory of true love fade away?)
“memory being what it is, you lose sight of many of the cogwheels turning and meshing with each other. (JH and SH probably met sometime in November which is fall season, they have spent winter together and now it’s about to be spring. Will they spend the summer together?)
@yonaomi123 SHK is known to post cryptic photos late at night, she did it all the time during her last drama. She posted those snaps of CSH around 2:00 am KST.

Why are the small details in this drama so good!
When JWS meets KJH, there is a painting on the wall of a smiling Tibetan shepherdess with her sheep dog by her side, these guard dogs are famous for their bravery, loyalty and protect the nomadic community’s vast animal herds against the wolves native to the area. They didn’t even have to show the entire painting or focus on it, just a fleeting glimpse but the clothing and colors of the traditional garb of the shepherdess and the famous breed of the dog convey what what the drama crew was trying to do with crazy accuracy!
SH is the smiling shepherdess, JH is the loyal sheepdog that protects here and never leaves her side which is why she is smiling. WS symbolizes the wolf.

Exactly. That’s the dilemma, add to that a dash of emotional blackmail by her mom.
@dukesa1122 he is crying because he is touched, he lied to her that the dinner was canceled but the night before he was actually worried about the choices before SH and how life would constantly throw Taekyung group in her path. So when he opens the door expecting the old widow and sees SH, he knows the depth of SH’s action. Her showing up means she is choosing her love and life with JH over everything else.

JH ends up taking driver nam’a place and drives her home, he lies to her that the dinner is cancelled. He is lying for her
sh is at office the next day, sec Jang gets a call from LDC and let’s it slip that the guests have arrived at JH’s place. SH is shocked, tries to call him. He wont pick up. Her mom calls her crying to attend the anniversary this last time for her dad’s sake.
SH is facing turmoil, duty/family or love?

JH’s family is lounging in front of the tv, planning a meal, dad tells JH to invite SH. JH and dongsaeng are all kinds of happy but mom says it will uncomfortable for SH, because she is used to luxuries. Dad says a house is a house and serves the same purpose regardless of it being luxurious.
Kjh sends her an invite, sec Jang walks in and reminds SH that the day of the dinner is also her ex father in law’s death anniversary, she needs to attend.

I actually thought about the dream scenario too, maybe she just imagined this whole love story with JH because she saw him as someone noble and pure after he refused the money.
Maybe she wakes up the next day and actually meets him the real JH which is why we have all these shots with long hair!! They can’t all be promotional.
