    Episodes 7 & 8 Wall-o-Ranting

I decided to group these two episodes together this week, since most of the two episodes focus on the rescue effort, so each “section” will be both episodes combined. There’s not really much analyzing necessary during these parts and I have very few questions about it because hey! Medical personnel! I already know the answer to most of the questions that would have normally cropped up. Lol.

I find it ridiculously cute that both SJ and MY keep tabs on the other during the rescue scenes. In all that chaos, it would be easy to lose track of where the other is if they’re not paying attention. So just how much are they thinking of each other to be able to glance up and know exactly where to find the one they’re looking for?

The “telepathic” communication between them is awesome too. It was nice to see that SJ didn’t even have to say anything for MY to know exactly what he’s thinking, and to know that he’s worrying about her. The confession itself was amazing too, in my eyes. It was very sweet and said in a way that conveyed just how serious SJ is towards MY. Instead of his usual joking manner, he just bared his thoughts to her there. ./swoon.

I also noticed that his serious confession comes right after MY/SJ have to deal with the aftermath of choosing to save the impaled patient rather than Manager Go. Based on their expressions, I think it’s pretty obvious that both were still thinking about the impact Manager Go’s last words had on them.

I felt like SJ explained to the kid with the NSAID allergy his approach to life and also MY. He says that he “always pulls off the difficult tasks.” MY could definitely be considered a “difficult task” since she’s always fighting her feelings for SJ but SJ won’t give up because it’s not in his nature to do so. I feel like leaving without telling MY goodbye was against SJ’s nature. He probably had to fight all his instincts to do that and yet he admitted to her that he regretted his choice almost instantly.

    Notes from a medical perspective:

With the triage tags; if they couldn’t transport the patient on the stairs to a true operating room, he probably would have been black tagged. None of this operating out in the open stuff. Too many foreign contaminants.

CH actually did a really bad thing by trying to force the anesthetic shot on the pregnant lady even when she kept telling him no. He should have stopped immediately, especially with the language barrier. She could have been trying to tell him that she’s allergic to it and his forcing it would have killed her! But on the other hand, he did really good by getting out of the building when the aftershock hit and it started to collapse. The first rule on a disaster scene for anyone is to not create more patients. CH absolutely made the right decision there. If he had stayed, he quite possibly would have been crushed by the falling debris and then nobody would even know where to find them…

    Diamond guy:

I spent most of these two episodes swearing like a sailor every time he came on the screen. How can one person be such a disgusting, selfish jerk?! I practically cheered every time someone came around and set him in his place though the best one was definitely Nurse Ha when he decided to complain that he was “dying” from standing all day. I’m not military, let me at him! Tiny female or not; I’ll show him what “dying” really looks like.

    Other random thoughts:

    e90hUFs_zps7hfhhqgp.gifNHYyygH_zps7ihstdmg.gif

My favorite scene in these two episodes is probably the one in the gifs above. I just love how SJ watches MY watch the stars.

I liked that they kept the realism of saving patients on a disaster scene. They made MY choose instead of creating an unlikely miracle where both Manager Go and the impaled guy were saved. It’s sad, but very true to life.

The music when DY goes back into the rubble when they can’t make radio contact with SJ really reminded me of King 2 Hearts. It’s probably a good thing I went into the show knowing it had a happy ending for both couples or I might have suffered from that music selection. Lol!

When I see the 여친-X [girlfriend-X] on the kid’s arm, I burst out laughing. Every. Single. Time. It’s so SJ to do something like that.

I think that kid is worse in his treatment towards CH because of Manager Go’s death. It seems to me that he doesn’t really have another outlet so he’s taking out his anger and frustration on CH. It’s not an excuse to do that to someone who is clearly suffering but I understand the sentiments behind the feelings so I find it hard to judge.

That “son-in-law” scene is gold! All 3 of them know for a fact that there’s nothing going on between MJ/SJ but SJ still makes sure to announce his feelings lie only with MY by saying that he needs to get medical treatment.

    Questions:

What kind of idiot reporter gets in the way of the medical team like that?!

How can a person be as inhumane as diamond guy is? “Save the easiest one.” What an @!#@!$#. Bet he’d be singing a different tune if it was him being the one who needs saving.

How long do you think SJ had been observing MY from the sidelines when she was mourning Manager Go?

    tumblr_o46fvqrWhV1utlph9o3_400_zpsd3u7t5ijqvbmk_zpsg1rqeluz.gif

Can someone please explain SJ’s “joke” about MY being pretty? He seriously thinks she’s pretty so why does he try to pretend like it’s a joke? I really don’t understand that.

How can SHK be so freaking gorgeous when she cries?!? I’m so jealous! I end up looking like a blowfish whenever I cry. Hey SHK, can we trade crying faces???

Does anyone else but SJ even realize when MY made her confession recording? As far as I can tell, she didn’t tell anyone about what happened at the cliff…

    tumblr_o46z4lqqGt1u89bdco1_400_zps9afj4etumblr_o46z4lqqGt1u89bdco2_400_zpsugduky

Daniel says that MY picked out the songs that were playing on the loudspeaker so does that mean that she has her confession saved on a playlist of love songs? :w00t:

Side Note: Clearly I was obsessing over the OTP at this point and didn't grab many gifs that didn't pertain to MY/SJ....:phew:

Question @phikyl where can I find this? I want to know more! Elaborate please.. It's seems like I miss something. Thanks x

When I see the 여친-X [girlfriend-X] on the kid’s arm, I burst out laughing. Every. Single. Time. It’s so SJ to do something like that

I agree with that! He would definitely for sure, he's the first one who drop the M word right? episode 12 I think. And yeah he likes to give her gifts and she ain't got none to him that we don't know off lol

Yes he did, but Doctor Kang hinted first I think she said about the country as her mother-in-law or her in laws before they eat the chicken soup (if they subbed it the right one) I'm only watching and reading it sometimes as @melissala said they might subbed it differently...

And btw @melissalaare you TheSecretGarden from AFF? I love your FF...

I actually agree on that too and debated not putting one in but I felt like SJ would want it since he's gone all the time and easily jealous. Lol! I purposely left out the ring description so that everyone could envision it how they would like though. My version? A plain gold/silver band; nothing flashy.

I think he would tho... He likes to shower her with expensive present (necklace/candles) and based on what they talked at the balcony in Urk after they meet the Arab president Doctor Kang is kind of materialistic.

Enjoying the discussion on this topic. When I watch the scene MY left SJ on the road I think he deserves it. I meant, she's just trying to help but bcos she doesn't really understand how military works she did it in a wrong way.

But only after I read @gilaswan's explanation on this I finally understand why he acted so hard on her in this scene. And why he needs to explain all those principles about soldier's uniform will become their shroud and the land they die will become their grave to MY. Maybe your are right there, I think SJ doesn't want other people to think he did all that only bcos of MY.

But the thing is, they reconciled sooo fast. It didn't take them days to solve their argument, it only few hours. And to remember MY saw him get down from the truck but she still went to the kitchen (I think she knows very well that he was there) so I assume she wants to make up with him even after he didn't appreciate her help and he even made her cry. So who wouldn't fall in love with this girl? MY has fast becoming my fave kdrama heroine, she's just super cool :D Right captain?

I think she waited for him to say sorry! That's what why Captain Yoo said I was going to say sorry... And let's just say I say sorry or some sort but then Doctor Kang said but you didn't and he looks scared and Doctor Kang said she's just joking don't be so scared... Correct me if I'm wrong x

    Is Dr. Song pretty?

I mean, I'll just refer to what DY said again lol

I really don't think he would have risked his whole career/life for Dr. Song,no.  Seriously, one reason is he has no trust in Dr. Song at that point while he DOES with MY.  He put his life in her hands at that moment, and I don't think he would have done that for just anyone.  No, it had to be MY.  You are right in that it was more than what he felt for her emotionally, but had a lot to do with what he knew she was capable of.

Ahehehehe ikr it has to be pretty like the one he loves!

to that second bold that I highlighted on what you've said I think so too... Do you remember when Kim Ki Beom was being beaten by the gang at the hospital and SDY is going to help him without any second thought but YSJ is hesitant and even pull or grabbed SDY in his arm and he even said that they look like a trained street fighter and I almost forgot to  the scene which SDY get the fake gun from LKS and gave to him, YSJ said they are on leave... At first I thought he's just ordinary soldier who does his job that follows superiors order and SDY is the hero like novel soldier but then after episode 2 and on it's kind of contradict to what he act towards helping Kim Ki Beom (Sorry if you find my word kind of out of order I'm not so good in English)

I've actually wondered, if it had been another doctor who said that - let's say Dr Song - would SiJin have done the same? I actually think he would have. I just think that in this instance when it is said that he did it for MY, I don't think he did it because he was in love with her and wanted to protect her cos his superior said they would pin the blame on the doctor. I think he did it for MY because he trusted in her skills and believed she could save the president, which he deemed important. Yes, he placed his bet on her and her skills. And that is also why SDY said he was paying a high price for a woman whom he so implicitly trusted. I suppose SDY, as much as he probably guessed by that point that KMY was a very brilliant surgeon, had actually up to that point known very little of her. In reality, so did YSJ. What had he really seen for himself by that point actually? Only that one day in the hospital when they first met, the emergency surgery he helped wheel her into, and that inability to diagnose Blackey accurately initially. He hadn't seen much or heard much of her work. He just implicitly trust her. She coulda been a "Dr Kim" for all he knew, but he trusted her. Any other rational person would've called him nuts. And he was. Nuts for her. :D

Brilliant pov... I'm still scrutinising to that part too but now I got your insight it make sense! x

@themarchioness lol, thank you for appreciating my messy post   SJ and MY, they really know each other so well, especially SJ. He knows her too well. I have one example, like when they have the tea date after receiving the gold card. He said: why is she trying so hard to look bad. He knows she loves her job not bcos of the money but it's her passion in saving lives. And I think that what makes him fall in love so hard with her.

About the recent discussion, oh I love this tread so much. So many things to discuss even the drama has long ended :D

I also feel it's love at first sight. Maybe bcos I'm a romantic person too, hehe. They feel something toward each other since the first time they met. And they are progressing so fast, and it is possible based on their straightforward and honest character. So I never doubt that he loves her from the beginning

I also think the same... It's love at first sight "meeting" I thought somebody explained the gaze from the first meeting (episode) @gilaswan I think she did a great job explaining the gaze and body language there around page 1054 or something lol I'll look up for it... I really love this thread ahahaha I can't get over DOTS ugh

@JackieOnTheRocks i dont think SJ intentionally used his role in this so called 'love triangle' to make MY jealous. She  was the one who first asked about how they met each other. SJ was just answering her questions at that time and only when she refused to come with him to the beach, he used her curiosity and continued their story to make her come with him. We woman like gossips, dont we?:D

And i dont think SJ ever realized that he is in a 'love triangle' until MY pointed it out. He wouldn't have expected MY to interpret their relationship as a love triangle because he surely doesn't know about yoon gi oppa then and the fact that MY and MJ were also part of a love triangle in their college days.Heh.But he did enjoy her jealousy.

And when did MY dumped him??? Are you talking about the scene when she returned that pebble???

    thanks for the insight chingu-yah

I think I've read it somewhere here in our thread or somewhere in many articles on facebook popping up  ( i will look for it) that the three times he was dumped was 1st at the coffee shop second at the shipwreck and the last one was when his going back to Korea before the earthquake.

    Hey guys

So now you are re-watching and discussing every episodes in order? :)

I haven't had to enough time to backtrack all discussions for the past 1-2 weeks so pardon me if you guys already went over this scene before: The "so save him" scene :)

I have always wondered why SJ did that. According to what he angrily told MY near the clip, he didn't do this for a woman. He did what he believed was the right and honorable thing to do.

Of course, we know how SJ can give him life to protect innocent citizens. He has a great father, a great general (MJ's father) and the captain to teach him do the right thing. MY and the Arab patient (a honorable man) are of course in his list of protection. The order he is given is so unfair for both the patient and the doctor.

But no matter what SY told MY, I still believe she is a big part of the reason why he disobeyed his order big time

Let's just say it wasn't MY who treated the patient. For SJ to ignore his superior and acted on his own will, the doctor must be someone brave enough to operate on a patient at gunpoint. Also, the doctor must be very skilled and confident; or else the patient would die, the doctor would still be blamed and SJ's punishment would be very severe.  Take note that the doctor didn't have the patient's correct and complete medical record. Not to mention that SJ dragged his own Alpha team into this: should anything happened to the patient, the whole team would probably in trouble even though SJ would shoulder all responsibility.  Of course, his team trust him unconditionally and they are honorable solider too; but still, should thing go wrong, they go down with SJ. And imagine that the gunfight did happen. Just to protect innocent people, aka the patient and the medical team, blood would likely be shed if the guards fire first. The guards themselves are not bad guys. Then. there is a risk of war.

Too much risks involved. If it was a doctor SJ only met for two days, could SJ trust that person this much? The price to be paid should things go wrong is too high. If the doctor couldn't save the patient, though he or she made a rational medical decision to operate, the Arab people would still not let that person be safe.

There is one thing I notice. When the Arab head guard just draws his gun, SJ used to hand to gesture his team not to make a move. But SJ himself reached the shortgun with his right hand. All other team members have weapon in their hands; he wants to be ready to draw his gun out too if necessary. He is ready to protect MY.

For SJ to give up everything in such a tense situation, for me,it can only be due to the following reasons: (1) he loves MY and trusts her so (2) he wants to protect for from shouldering the blame of not operating on the patient, and (3) he wants the patient to live.

SJ already made a decision in his mind: to save MY and the patient but he needs to make sure MY is confident enough to save him. If MY wasn't sure and stepped back from the operation, she would be blamed for the patient's death but probably not as serious as when the patient might die under her hand.

SJ already knew how dedicated MY was to her profession, how she was committed to saving people. Despite his initial disappointment and the fact that she was out of surgery for 8 months, he knows he can trust her when she looked straight into his eyes ans answered him with confidence. The brave woman and the dedicated doctor he once knew is now standing in front of him. Because of the trust and love he has in her, he put everything on the line. It is a dangerous bet but he trusts her too much.

Overall, it's a scene with complicated motives. Whatever the reason is, the scene still shows me the love SJ has for MY. And kudos for MY for being a great and brave doctor at gun point; she calmly led to team to successful surgery. Lots and lots of people, if not most will not act like these two. But then, that's why they are perfect for each other, right?

Sorry for rambling too long :)

I think you are right 101% he grew up in a military family and he used to follow orders, and at the episode 10 I think that the children from the ghost village is involved he wants to disobey the order but he can't because it is the order from the higher up, so he was force to lie again to Doctor KMY that they were ok... but when Doctor Kang was involved "IMO" he will not think twice and disobey the order right away.

1st operating the Arab VIP he has a choice (as Doctor Kang said when they were talking when Captain Yoo is held at the guardhouse) but he chooses the choice that will save Doctor Kang instead...(but still Captain Yoo will say he didn't do it because of her...but Sargent Seo think otherwise)

2nd when Doctor Kang was kidnapped everyone is against that he goes to rescue her but then without second thought he then again disobeyed and even talk back to that Defense Minister or Defense Secretary an he knows his action will put him to lose his job and worst he could be jail.

Episode 3: Ramblings of a Crazy Fangirl

Posting in spoiler because it's enormous this time. :phew: Plenty of gifs so beware if you have bandwidth issues.

      Reveal hidden contents

I was glad to notice this episode that MY can’t keep her eyes off SJ either. I wasn’t paying as much attention to her expressions before but now that I am, I saw a lot of times where MY was seeking SJ out too. When the soldiers are holding their welcoming celebration you can see MY scanning around her; she appeared to be looking for where SJ went off to.

    MY%20scan%20SJ_zpsds48qccv.gif

I love the obvious enjoyment SJ gets out of the landmine interaction though I’m not sure why he thought joking about death with a civilian [and a doctor at that!] would be a good idea. I really do love his off beat sense of humor though. That quick smirk when MY is worrying about him dying instead of her is gold. He clearly enjoyed being in her space and having her worry about him and I can’t blame him for that. The sigh he gives after the mirror gaze makes it clear it hurt SJ more to ignore MY than it hurt her.

    9t3FgWm_zpswcwiiybd.gif

    490a068cgw1f1j612s8slg20ci0711kz_zpsy0wh

For some reason I found it absolutely hilarious that the line the soldiers are singing when they first come into view of the girls has something to do with “flowers blooming.” Flowers are blooming all right and SJ is not happy about it. He has no claim on MY at this point in time but still has no hesitation in showing his jealousy though MY doesn’t realize what it is yet. I was surprised he didn’t show any when all the soldiers were gathered around MY for the blood tests. SJ loved flustering her in front of his men but I have to wonder if MY was more flustered by his proximity, the fact that he found the vein for her when she was clearly punishing him [rightfully so!] for the landmine prank, or because he caressed her hand so lovingly when he did so.

    6d40f7f4jw1f1iu8d0rctg209q05j1l4_zpsx2yzfsdafsdafas_zpsgvpajvhz.gif

Look at how SJ only has his eyes on MY when they’re at the shipwreck. It’s cute. Of course he turns away and pretends to be looking at the ship half the times she looks at him but he does keep his gaze on her quite a bit. When MY was saying how beautiful and amazing she thought the ship was, it looked like SJ really wanted to tell her that the descriptions she gave about the shipwreck applied to her too. It made the disgruntled look he gives her when she refuses his help out of the boat that much more entertaining. I love that MY never reacts the way SJ expects her to.

    tumblr_o3fr3buzcW1tkneo3o3_540_zpsbn9irstumblr_o3fr3buzcW1tkneo3o4_540_zpskfbsxutumblr_o3fr3buzcW1tkneo3o1_540_zpsxsqwwztumblr_o3fr3buzcW1tkneo3o2_540_zpsjzwlbq

I was angry this time around with the way SJ treated MY for not knowing about the little boy and his lead poisoning. It almost felt like he was taking a bit of his frustration out on her over his disappointment with the fact that she isn’t “sexy” any more plus the fact that she had given him back the pebble from the beach; effectively turning him down. It wasn’t anything unusual that MY, being from Korea, wouldn’t have known what was going on with the little boy because she hadn’t seen it before. MY looked like she was about to cry when SJ was giving her a hard time and she was clearly already upset with herself for not recognizing the signs of acute lead poisoning for what they were. Even though it was clear SJ regretted saying those words to her almost immediately, I was still glad that MY gave him the cold shoulder as well as stabbed back at him with her comments about VIP's needing special doctors too. He deserved it.

I don't really have much to say about the other characters this episode as we didn't get much interaction between them. I wish they had done more with the KB/pretty nurse storyline as it looked like we were going to get a cute, budding romance from them in this episode but oh well. General Daddy's face when MJ gives him a dressing down is one for the books though. It's clear he expected his daughter to eventually bend to his will but here she is, doing everything she can to be with DY. I forgot how much I thought he was a bad father in this episode. Not only is he trying to force everything to go his way but he's using his professional power to do it without having any regard for his daughter's feelings. You would think what his daughter thinks and feels would be more important but that's clearly not the case.

    Questions:

    1. How did SJ know where MY was when she was taking pictures of the kids? Was he hiding in the ruins, keeping an eye on her or something?

    2. Why did DS set up MY and SJ? Anyone have any theories? Was he just tired of watching SJ pine after her but not do anything about it? Did he not want SJ to miss out on a second chance to get the woman of his dreams?

    3. When did MY do research on military rankings? She wasn't with SJ for the past 8 months so it's interesting that she not only researched the military rankings on her own, but also remembered them!

    4. This is more of a culture question: In Asia, is it not considered rude to wear white to a wedding? Where I'm from, only the bride is supposed to wear white...

    5. If MY hadn't mentioned wanting to see the shipwreck, would SJ still have taken her there so that he could spend more time with her?

    6. Why is SJ so open about the "love triangle" with MY? Why doesn't he think that being a player in one will add to the list of things giving him the lower hand in their budding relationship?

    7. Anyone else think that SJ possibly saw the shooting star from Episode 3 and that's why he doesn't make a wish on the one in Episode 16? What do you think he would have wished for? To see "sexy" MY come back? A second chance with MY?

    8. The doctors are speaking in Korean so how exactly did the Arab guard know that they were talking about taking the Arab President into surgery?!

    9. Would the order SJ's commander gave about blaming the Arab President's death on "the doctor who didn't operate on her patient" have ruined MY's career as a surgeon? Maybe that's why SJ takes such a large risk? He's not just protecting her, but also the career he knows she loves. Did SJ realize how much respect he would gain from MY by doing that for her?

About number 6 question I've notice this long time ago but I don't have anyone to analyse it... Have you notice when Captain YSJ telling the first meeting of YMJ and SDY he stop to the seaport to take her to the shipwreck, she then said or asked if it's far away he said it is far, so that he could spent more time with her... She stop and doesn't want the idea to go with him alone to the island IMO but then Captain YSJ (I think) use the YMJ and SDY story he even said if you want to hear the rest of the story follow or come with me.

IMO he's using it to see if Doctor KMY is affected, the fact that he's in a love triangle with the two and I guess it is based on what he said when he grabbed his hand going to the boat (it looks like you're very curious or some sort) and maybe went to far (that is why Doctor KMY dumped her for the second time)

It's huge, beware of your bandwidth before opening.

Someone seriously needs to write a fic about Alpha team seeing their Big Boss be a big giant baby towards MY.  I know they know he likes her, but they haven't seen the full extent of his shocking behavior! :P

Yes please I want too read about that too... We all know Sgt. Seo knows Captain when it comes to Dr. Kang but I want to know the 3 too (Harry Potter, Snoopy, Picolo), I bet it's a big shock to them because they look up to their Captain very much... Seeing big boss being a baby and attention seeker like that on the gif ahahaha smh

Yes please calling the attention of our beloved writernim... Make it happen @themarchioness @gilaswan did I missed someone?

P.S I love that gif ugh he's so cute when he does that!

I really, really liked the implications of this scene. You can see the longing and sadness in SJ’s face as he watches MY in the mirror, of course, but this also has the feeling of forbidden fruit to me: you can look, but not touch. The way SJ watches MY in the mirror rather than openly watching her through the window nearby makes it seem like he’s doing something forbidden. I suppose, in his mind, he is. MY broke up with him 8 months ago and for all SJ knows she’s dating someone else now, but he still can’t resist watching her. SJ’s drawn to MY like a moth to flame and even as he tries valiantly to ignore her presence, he just can’t quite pull it off..

Sory but but cutting your post... Yes I agree that's after the scene where Nurse Ha and Doctor Song gossiping about Doctor Kang and the Chairman Han right? The camera while the two talking are outside the tent so I'm guessing Captain or a comrades of Capatain is there, accidentally overheard them.

With my work project ending this afternoon, I spent this evening completing the story I'd started before I had to sideline it for work stuff.  It's a big on the longer side, but hopefully you'll find that to be a good thing.  As always, please let me know what you think.  (I'll be posting it to Asianfanfics immediately after I post it here.)

    Just in Time
Summary: As Kang Mo Yeon enters the final stages of her pregnancy, she waits anxiously for Yoo Shi Jin to return from his mission.

    Question:

      Reveal hidden contents

Would you have wanted to them experiencing the birth of their first born?  Because of the way I'd started this story, which was with KMY waiting for YSJ to come home, the story ended for me once YSJ came home.  But I can't help but also think it'd be fun to imagine what KMY and YSJ might be like when the baby comes.  Do I write an epilogue?  Or just let it end here?  Thoughts?

” Mo Yeon started counting on her fingers. “There was that time you went out with that airplane stewardess behind my back. And then there was that time you lost your mind over an idol girl group. Oh, and let’s also not forget . . .”

I'm curious writer-nim I know they went out to see the stewardess and the Red Velvet l... I can't remember if there is next so what is she going to say when Major Yoo stopped her! Thanks writer-nim keep it coming we'll read it all xx

THE WAY HE LOOKS AT HER FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME

In Episode 1, when Yoo SiJin first encounters Kang MoYeon, he regards her like any other person he meets for the first time. His focus is on recovering Seo DaeYoung's phone and does nothing more than answer her questions:

"Are you Big Boss?" - Yes

"Are you his guardian?" - Not his, but the phone's (i.e. if we could just get the phone back, we would be out of here, thank you.)

But she ignores him immediately after he tells her what he's there for and switches her attention straight back to the patient she was with; he had assumed it would be a quick and easy assignment to complete but he was wrong. At that very moment when she ignores him, see how his regard for her changes with that little raising of his brow as if to say, "This one's not easy." Her strength of character and presence immediately catches his attention but he is not yet intrigued.

He watches her work as she questions the nurse on where Kim KiBeom had run to, and he tries his luck again with the phone. His focus is still on retrieving the phone and she is at this point a challenge to this puzzle - how to get the phone back? Game on.

See how he pushes Nurse Choi MinJi to the side just to get into a position where he can catch KMY's eyes. He's impatient and honestly somewhat obnoxious here and CMJ is none too pleased about being shoved by him. YSJ is an army captain and is not used to not getting an immediate response to a simple order - give me back my phone. So he continues being this obnoxious male:

    "Are you listening to me?"

And the brilliant response from KMY? Of course I'm not listening to you, you self-absorbed person of the male type! She doesn't answer his question and merely throws another question back at him - she's on her own mission to fact find: Are you a thug? Cos if you are, I'm not letting you leave the hospital after you assaulted someone! We see KMY is someone who has a strong sense of social justice here, aaaaaannnd... he is hooked. The man has taken the bait which KMY doesn't even realise she's thrown at him! His eyes now show intrigue with KMY. The retrieving of the phone is no longer the puzzle - she is.

    *cue the curtain scene*

She looks at him, and she's still irritated; he looks at her and he no longer listens to SDY who's still trying to solve the how-do-I-get-my-phone-back problem:

SDY: Seeing that he left the phone here, I think he made a run for it

YSJ: Yes, I think he made a run for it

SDY: Why don't we go outside and look for him? He couldn't have gone far.

YSJ: Yes, he couldn't have gone far. Why don't you go and find him.

All this while, SDY and YSJ are looking in KMY's direction, but see how differently their eyes speak! SDY is thinking about how to solve the handphone problem; YSJ is thinking about how to solve the KMY problem. :D And it doesn't take long for his best friend to notice it. SDY gives him the "What the..." look. My phone, bro, focus! My phone! And because the bro code at this point is still stronger than a girl he's met for the first time, he reluctantly follows SDY out in search of KKB.

Did id somebody told you that you're so good, I'm reading all of your insight and fan fictions... You could be a writer or some sort! English is not my first language so I wasn't able to express my feeling or words of appreciation to your insight properly... Please keep it coming xx

  20. QUESTION chingus:

Out of topic from the original mentioned episode 1-2, I went to episode 16.

The scene after Dr. Kang refused to give a kiss (tent/fishing scene) I thought I've seen in the preview at episode 14 or 15 that there where foot thingy action where they teasing each other inside the duvet/comforter/blanket whatever you called it but I think I did not see it tho... Did I missed something(?)

I do think if he wasn't going off for 8 mos, he might have tried to persuade her with a proper, uninterrupted date (aside: I just found how he was so intensely interrupted all the time a bit extreme actually. It was like as though the S. Korean troops were being actively deployed around the world for every other problem that existed.), and that would probably have swayed her. But the timing then was really bad. He was called away twice just as the mood was getting good, and then he was going away for 8 months - he didn't even get to tell her that. She was already very upset with the way things were going for her at the hospital and that was probably a bad date day. But he did not have time for another try when she would be in a better mood. He had come to test waters; she had come to ask questions he wasn't yet ready to answer.

I'm also watching the "assigned" episodes 1 and 2 :P and found that when he was watching the helicopters deliver the medicube containers, he looked very conflicted and pensive about the fact that MoYeon was coming. The expression on his face when SDY asked him about it and his response that they were likely just bumping into each other while passing by made me think he was trying to find the resolve in himself to really not reconnect with her because he knew he would want to push it further than just plain friendship. I think he really thought at some point it was probably something MoYeon wanted (based on their last conversation with each other) and he was doing "the right thing". See how all that resolve just dissipated into thin air though once he saw her in person again... hahaha... He's so smitten by her.

Ahahaha I'm thinking of the same thing... I thought he said to Sgt. Seo (in my understanding that he won't pursue her) that is why he ignores her at the airport and at the (mirror reflecting scene) but then again like he always says "I could not hold back curiosities" soooo he jokes (landmines) just to get her attention... but I think Dr. Kang likes and (thinks of him a lot) based on episode 2 that she always goes to the rooftop/helipad and reminisce the short time they are together.
