what's a good salon to get this done at in NY?

Hmm...

recently i've been trying to decide getting a Digi Perm after i grow my hair a little longer..

But when i read what someone posted about japanese perms a few pages back,

i can't decide now..XD

Uhm... can anyone explain the difference of digi perm and Japanese perms?

I have light / quite thin hair... the strands are not so thick too...

IDK.. how long do japanese Perm VS DigiPerm last? which is less damaging?

Based on looks, are they similar?

Hm, i've done digital perms for 2-3 years now!! still love it! i have it re-permed around 6-8 months. The last perm i've done was in dec 2007.

I had my digital perm (I live in Manila) in Azta Urban Salon.

I've realized that the curls tend to be more defined just using a leave-on conditioner as compared to using curl-enhancing mousse or sprays. Will be trying out the Kerastase Oleo-Curl product to see how it works for my hair.

anyway, how was your perm? was it great? how much did it cost you? i just want to compare from my perm. oh, and i've never heard of Azta urban saLon before.

after getting the perm done, how long to you have to leave ur hair unwashed? cos witht he normal straight perm, dont you have to leave it for about 3 days? O_O" im not sure...

Your hair looks so pretty =) Did you get your perm done in asia? Also, do you style with a curling iron or does it naturally dry to that?

yeah i got my hair permed in HK!

and usually i just leave my hair to dry without using a curling iron. you just need to put some wax and hairspray to let it stay in shape. i use this japanese brand called "Ma Cherie" and it works pretty well.

i use curling iron if i want my curls to look bigger. i did not use a curling iron in all the pics that i posted. hope this helps~

i really want waves like this ! my friend told me i could get this through a digital perm~ i dont know, but in the picture, the person seems to have waves rather than curls.. o_o

i really want to get this done and my hair is naturally straight,

after the eight months or how ever long it last in my hair.

will my hair go back to normal? or do i need some treatments to make it straight again?

I see most of the girl with wavy/curl hair have small face, so i don't know if I can pull it off.

Actually, a digital perm looks a lot better on girls with oval shaped. But girls with round faces should be able to pull it off as well. A digital perm actually makes your face look smaller if that makes any sense. It's because of the volumized hair. My hair now has become wavy on the bottom, and it's been almost 2 years since my perm.

o wow, beautiful, i want one too..so is there any possiblity of just getting waves and not curls? there's nothing wrong w/ curls anyways but then i'm getting tired of curling too why not just get it.
