The 13th Mise-en-scene Short Film Festival opened Thursday at Megabox Cinema and Art Nine Seoul Isu, both near Isu Subway Station, Southern Seoul. A TOTAL of 57 short films, which were 852 entries from Selected evaluation through Three Rounds, Will be screened. The Festival jury consists of 10 film directors and honorary Five Judges. The directors include Yoon Jong-bin ("Berlin"), Min Kyu-dong ("All About My Wife") and Kim Yong-hwa ("200 Pounds Beauty"). The honorary judges are actors Kang Dong-won, Han Ji-min, Kim Sung-ryung and Cho Jin-woong, and the singer Lee Joon, a member of K-pop group MBLAQ.

The opening film is "Moving Self-Portrait 2014," a video in which all director entrants introduce themselves. The audience Will be given the Chance to meet the directors behind the scenes and Share their Impressions and reactions to their films. Grouped into Five Different Genres The films are."A City of Sadness" is dedicated to 18 films that deal with social issues. "A Short Film about Love" introduces 12 romantic films and "The King of Comedy" features 10 comedy films. "The Extreme Nightmare" Eight groups Horror and Fantasy films, while "The 40,000 Blows" Action and Thriller films Nine screens. The Winning film of each Group Will be screened during the closing ceremony. The Festival Will run until July 2. It looks like Kang Dong Won is busying himself with working on movies one after another as it is reported that talks about his casting in the upcoming film “Ant Hell” is ongoing.

According to a source from the movie industry, Kang Dong Won’s appearance in “Ant Hell,” the new film of director Lee Myung Se, is currently still being discussed. “It’s true that we proposed to Kang Dong Won an appearance in the movie. We’re currently ironing out some of the details,” confirmed the production company Taewon Entertainment to ISPLUS via phone interview.

“We’re also in the middle of casting for the other roles and our goal is to start filming this summer,” the production company also revealed.

The movie “Ant Hell” is written by Lee Hyun Se and is adapted from the manhwa of the same title. It tells the story of love, betrayal, and revenge of a workaholic career woman who was swept away in a dangerous accident.

Although I've seen SportsSeoul exclusives be right before, so they might have accepted already, but it's always best to wait for multiple source confirmation before calling it a sure thing.

it maybe that he is a character actor He gets to really live the life of different characters both good and bad in movies. He gets to live out his fascination...remember he loves his games and fantasies and action.
If he does a TV drama...its more of a melo.... and i guess he doesn't like that kind of genre too much. He wants his fans to like him for his acting and the way he brings life to different characters rather than just for his looks and how cute he looks when romancing a cute gal  He is Korean Version of Leonardo Di Caprio  and Harrison Ford.  He loves acting for what it is and is always experimenting with lots of genre. He is an actor that does his job....one day he might be like Song Kang Ho, one of the best character actors of Korea or even better.
So lets just respect his wishes....he sure knows what he is doing....KUNDO is definately going to be a box office hit

We’ve got some conflicting news on the upcoming movie Ant Hell, which will be based upon the eponymous and iconic 1999 comic book written by Lee Hyun-se, and directed by the accomplished Lee Myung-se (My Love, My Bride). Some news articles quote a source from the production company, Taewon Entertainment, as confirming that Kang Dong-won (Secret Reunion, Jeon Woo-chi) is being courted for the film, while another production source insists that the screenplay adaptation isn’t finished and needs to be worked on before casting can start.
