Rain & Kim Tae Hee couple’s enthusiasm for education was revealed.

The broadcast of tvN’s “Free Doctor” on February 13th unveiled the TOP 5 “Stars’ high-class children’s education methods”.

 

 

In 2019, Rain and Kim Tae Hee also purchased a townhouse in Irvine. Entertainment reporter Choi Jung Ah explained, “Rain and Kim Tae Hee couple bought a townhouse worth 2.4 billion won in Irvine for the future education of their children”.

 

 

Choi Jung Ah added, “This place is comfortable to live in since it’s a newly developed city located close to many world-famous leading universities. Children of Son Ji Chang & Oh Yeon Soo, Lee Jae Ryong & Yoo Ho Jung, as well as Han Seok Gyu also studied in Irvine.”

 

Entertainment reporter Ahn Jun Yong explained, “The academic enthusiasm of students in this area is high enough to compete for the 1st and 2nd place of the college entrance exam in the U.S. Tuition fees are around 30 million won for kindergartens, 40 million won for elementary schools, 70 million won for middle school, and 80 million won for high schools. Adding living expenses, it costs more than 1 billion won for the whole education period. This number excludes the housing price.”

*** Kim Tae Hee's agency Story J Company has issued a statement of clarification as to why she was required to pay a large amount of additional taxes for last year (2022).  Yesterday, March 1, various media outlets reported that she had undergone strict auditing for her taxable income in last year. Afterward, it was concluded that she would be required to pay a large sum in taxes, several 100 million KRW. Now, in response to the reports, her Agency Story J Company clarified, "For numerous years, Kim Tae Hee has paid for and filed her taxes diligently and honestly. This year as well, Kim Tae Hee honestly followed the regulations drawn up by the national tax service and and paid all required taxes on time." The agency then continued that mistakes inevitably arose as a result of her transition from her former to her current agency, and said, "Revenues were reported diligently by both Kim Tae Hee's management and her former agency, and all due tax payments were made; however, her former agency treated the revenues from Kim Tae Hee's [advertisement] deals as Kim Tae Hee's sole revenue. Due to this internal conflict, there was a delay in the reporting of these earnings. We would like to emphasize that no disgraceful activities took place during the auditing process, only that she was required to pay additional taxes, which she did diligently."

Actress Kim Tae Hee rumored to be fined for tax evasion, her agency clarifies with an official statement.

 

 

Several reports alleged that the Korean actress Kim Tae Hee along with her former agency  Lua Entertainment were subjected to an irregular tax audit conducted by the National Tax Service. The tax audit resulted in a hefty fine as additional taxes for the actress. However, to clarify this rumour, Story J Company, Kim Tae Hee’s current agency, has issued an official statement. 

 

Official statement by Kim Tae Hee’s Agency 

Addressing Kim Tae Hee's stance, the official statement mentioned the 42-year-old actress’s sincerity in lawfully paying her taxes. However, it further mentioned that due to a delay in one of her payments for a modelling job, her fees were paid to her former agency, Lua Entertainment later by the client. Since her contract with the agency had expired, it was then moved to her account. Lua Entertainment considered the actress’ fee to be individual income and not the company’s business income hence the actress paid the additional tax. Story J Company stood by the actress’ honesty and faithfulness in paying the tax and dismissed the rumour altogether in the issued statement. Earlier there were reports of actor Lee Byung Hun being investigated and fined for hundred million won for tax evasion by the authorities.

While the drama mainly revolved around Moon Dong Eun's meticulous revenge process towards her perpetrators and bystanders, we were also able to witness how the series tackled bullying because of differences among social statuses, introduced us more to the world of shamanism in South Korea, and many more.

In The Glory, we were able to witness different kinds of mothers. There are selfish mothers who would betray their children for money (the kind of mothers who shouldn't be mothers at all!), and moms who would go to lengths just to protect their children and provide them with a good and happy life. In Hi Bye, Mama!, Cha Yu Ri (Kim Tae Hee) is really an admirable mom who did everything she could to keep an eye on her daughter and protect her from other ghosts. It must have also been tough for her, dying and not being able to physically be with her own daughter as she grows up.

Is she refusing all variety show offers and wants to focus solely on acting now? I remember MBC’s “Infinite Challenge” and KBS2’s “Kim Seung Woo’s Win Win” were the past programs she joined.
