Han Seok Kyu will reportedly star in the upcoming MBC K-drama The Intimate Traitor.

On November 16, various media outlets claimed that Han Seok Kyu was already confirmed to lead the upcoming psychological thriller K-drama The Intimate Traitor.

Han Seok Kyu's representative clarified the reports and shared their official statement. According to them, "Han Seok Kyu did receive the offer to lead the upcoming MBC K-drama. We have to clarify that he is not confirming yet and he is currently positively reviewing the proposal. Nothing has been decided yet."

The Intimate Traitor will depict the dilemma Korea's top profiler experiences when he realizes his daughter's secret and connection to murder crimes. 

The upcoming K-drama will be directed by Song Yeon Hwa (The Red Sleeve and Hunted) and writer Han A Young who took the excellence prize in the 2021 MBC drama script contest. 

According to reports, the upcoming series The Intimate Traitor will have a production cost of 14 billion Korean won (Approx. $10.8 million). The filming will reportedly begin in March next year and the airing of the K-drama will be on the second half of 2024.

 

If Han Seok Kyu officially joins The Intimate Traitor, this will be his grand comeback to MBC. He was last seen in MBC 29 years ago through the K-drama Hotel.

Aside from The Intimate Traitor, Han Seok Kyu will also lead the upcoming K-drama When the Day Breaks with Jung Yu Mi, Yeom Hye Ran, Kim Joon Han, Ryu Hye Young, and Lee Hee Joon.

This year, Han Seok Kyu made every Doldam fan happy after he and his squad returned to Dr. Romantic Season 3.

Han Ye Ri will star as police officer Lee Eoh Jin in the Criminal Behavior Analysis team, which Jang Tae Soo is the team leader of. Oh Yeon Soo and Han Seok Kyu will star together in a new K-drama after 31 years.

On April 16, it was officially confirmed that actress Oh Yeon Soo will also join the cast of the upcoming MBC K-drama The Intimate Traitor.

The upcoming K-drama will be the reunion project of Oh Yeon Soo and Han Seok Kyu after 31 years. The two previously starred together in the 1992 K-drama Sons and Daughters. They worked alongside main leads Choi Soo Jong, Kim Hee Ae, Sun Woo Eun Sook, Park Hye Sook, Jung Hye Sun, and Jun In Taek.

Actor Yoon Gyung Ho's first project for 2024 is the upcoming K-drama The Intimate Traitor.

On April 26, it was officially confirmed that Yoon Gyung Ho will join Han Seok Kyu, Han Ye Ri, Oh Yeon Soo, Chae Won Bin, and Noh Jae Won in the upcoming MBC K-drama. 

This will be his first K-drama project for the year. Aside from this, Yoon Gyung Ho is also expected to star in the upcoming series The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call with Ju Ji Hoon, Choo Young Woo, Ha Young, and Jeong Jae Kwang.

Early this year, Yoon Gyung Ho also appeared in the movie Alienoid: Return to the Future.

Actor Noh Jae-won joins MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘This Close Traitor’. ‘This Intimate Traitor’, scheduled to air in the second half of this year, is a psychological thriller drama in which the country’s best profiler encounters his daughter’s secret involved in a murder case he is investigating, and pursues the truth in the abyss as he falls apart desperately.

 

Previously, Han Seok-gyu was cast in the role of profiler ‘Jang Tae-soo’ and attracted attention. Noh Jae-won takes on the role of Inspector Koo Dae-hong of the criminal behavior analysis team. Koo Dae-hong is a person who became a police officer due to a past incident and is a police officer with a warm personality and excellent empathy. Teaser trailer for MBC drama “Such A Close Traitor”

First teaser trailer added for MBC drama series “Such A Close Traitor” (literal title) starring Han Suk-Kyu & Chae Won-Bin. The screenplay, written by newcomer Han A-Young, won the MBC Drama Script Contest in 2021. Setup for the drama series has Han Suk-Kyu playing criminal profiler Jang Tae-Soo. While investigating a murder case, he comes across clues that points to his daughter Jang Ha-Bin played by Chae Won-Bin as a possible suspect. Caption in the teaser trailer states (0:06) “No one should know,” (0:08) “My daughter became a murderer,” and (0:29) “I wish no one knew.”

“Such A Close Traitor” will first air October, 2024 in South Korea.
