Kim Hye Soo may be starring in a new drama!

On June 15, Sports Chosun reported that Kim Hye Soo will star in the new drama “Trigger” (working title) by Producing Director (PD) Yoo Seon Dong of “The Uncanny Counter.”

In response to the report, Kim Hye Soo’s agency HODU&U Entertainment shared, “Kim Hye Soo received an offer to star in the drama ‘Trigger’ and is reviewing the offer.”

“Trigger” is an office comedy drama set against the backdrop of Korea’s first Investigative Journalism Bureau of a broadcasting company. Kim Hye Soo is reportedly offered the role of the Investigative Journalism Bureau’s team leader with a strong sense of justice.

If Kim Hye Soo accepts the offer, she will be returning to the small screen after a year following her last drama “The Queen’s Umbrella.”

Currently, Kim Hye Soo is waiting for the release of her new film “Smugglers” directed by Ryu Seung Wan which will hit theaters on July 26.

Jung Sung Il will possibly return to K-dramas through a comedy genre!

According to the exclusive report of media outlet Star News on November 7, Jung Sung Il has been picked to lead the upcoming comedy K-drama Trigger with top actress Kim Hye Soo. 

If Jung Sung Il officially confirmed the news, this would be his next K-drama project after gaining more fame through the Netflix original K-drama The Glory. Many are already excited about how Jung Sung Il will act in the comedy genre after being praised for his performance in The Glory which has a dark theme. 

Jung Sung Il will also reportedly star in the upcoming thriller K-drama Guardians. 

The actor will also be active in the movie scene in the future. Jung Sung Il will be joining the upcoming movies Interview, Omniscient Reader, and War and Revolt. 

Many are already anticipating the chemistry between Jung Sung Il and his next top co-star Kim Hye Soo. Jung Sung Il has proven again and again his great chemistry with brilliant actresses such as Song Hye Kyo, Shin Min Ah, Im Ji Yeon, and more.

Taking a leaf from the Netflix promo guidebook, a new video announcement has come out on Disney+, allowing us a sneak preview into the year’s lineup. It’s actually exciting to see early footage and stills, as many of these shows seem to go behind an iron curtain after initial casting news, making us wait months – or years even – before we can start preparing the popcorn. The upcoming Disney+ K-drama Trigger is confirmed to premiere this year. 

On February 27, Disney+ released the still cuts of the main leads of the upcoming K-drama Trigger. Through this, it was confirmed that Jung Sung Il and Joo Jong Hyuk will be joining top actress Kim Hye Soo in the series. It was also revealed that the K-drama will premiere on Disney+ in the second half of 2024. 

Trigger is a comedy K-drama that revolves around an investigative reporting crew. It will focus on the team leader who is full of justice and a PD who is known to be an individualist. They will unveil the truth about the mysterious events.

The upcoming K-drama will be directed by Yoo Seon Dong (The Uncanny Counter and Bad and Crazy). It will be produced by KeyEast Entertainment.

Trigger will have a total of 12 episodes and it will exclusively premiere on Disney+ worldwide.

“Unmasked” is an office comedy drama set against the backdrop of Korea’s first Investigative Journalism Bureau of a broadcasting company.

Kim Hye Soo will play the role of Oh So Ryong, the passionate team leader of an investigative reporting program who fiercely pursues cases and incidents that even the prosecution and police cannot solve.

Joo Jong Hyuk will portray Kang Ki Ho, the youngest PD of the team, raising anticipation for the chemistry that the three will showcase.
