Kim Hee Sun might be coming back to us in a new drama!

On January 19, Kim Hee Sun’s agency Hinge Entertainment shared, “Kim Hee Sun has received an offer for the new drama ‘Gaslighting’ (literal title) and is positively reviewing it.”

“Gaslighting” will mix elements of both comedy and thriller. It will tell the story of Korea’s best psychological counselor Young Won and her mother-in-law Sa Kang as well as the secrets and truths they face due to the actions of Young Won’s husband.

Director Kim Seung Woo, who worked on the thriller film “Bring Me Home,” and “So I Married The Anti-Fan” writer Nam Ji Hyun will be working together on the new drama.

Kim Hee Sun is known for her starring roles in numerous dramas such as “Alice,” “Remarriage & Desires,” and “Angry Mom.”

Kim Hee Sun will reportedly star in the upcoming K-drama "Gaslighting" (working title).

On January 19, news outlets revealed that Kim Hee Sun will be the main lead of the upcoming k-drama "Gaslighting. According to reports, she will be playing the role of a psychological counselor. 

Kim Hee Sun's side gave a response to the circulating reports. According to the representative of the actress, Kim Hee Sun did receive the offer to appear in the new K-drama "Gaslighting" and she is positively reviewing. 

"Gaslighting" will revolve around Korea's best psychological counselor named Young Won and her mother-in-law Sa Kang. The two will have to confront each other's secrets and truths because of their husband and son. 

The upcoming k-drama will be the next work of director Kim Seung Woo ("Bring Me Home") and writer Nam Ji Yeon ("So I Married An Anti-Fan"). 

There is no confirmed information yet on the broadcast channel and date of the upcoming series "Gaslighting." The casting lineup is also still under discussion.

 

 

In 2022, Kim Hee Sun appeared in two K-dramas and one film. She led the Netflix original series "Remarriage and Desires" with Lee Hyun Wook, Jung Eugene, Park Hoon, Cha Ji Yeon, and Kim Yun Seo. She also starred in the fantasy K-drama "Tomorrow" and the horror film "Seoul Ghost Stories." 

If Kim Hee Sun confirmed her casting for "Gaslighting," this will be her first k-drama for 2023. The actress is also set to join the upcoming movie "Sweet and Warm" with Yoo Hae Jin, Jin Seon Kyu, Han Sun Hwa, Cha In Pyo, and Jung Da Eun.

Actor Lee Kyung Young will be joining the cast of the upcoming thriller mystery K-drama Gaslighting.

On May 24, media outlet TenAsia shared that Lee Kyung Young will be working closely with Kim Nam Hee in the upcoming K-drama Gaslighting.

Gaslighting will depict the story of Korea's top psychological counselor named Young Won and her mother-in-law Sa Gang who will face each other's secrets and truths because of their husband and son. 

The upcoming K-drama will be led by Kim Hee Sun, Lee Hye Young, Kim Nam Hee, Kang Hae Lim, and Jung Heon. 

Lee Kyung Young will play the role of Kim Nam Hee's character's father and Lee Hye Young's character's husband. 

Gaslighting will be directed by Kim Seung Woo (Bring Me Home) and written Nam Ji Yeon (So I Married an Anti-Fan). The series will be produced by JPX Studio.

Kang Hae Rim Drops Out of 'Gaslighting' as Filming Resumes

 

 

Actress Kang Hae Rim will not be appearing in 'Gaslighting'.

According to an exclusive report by Star News on the 11th, Kang Hae-rim has dropped out of the new drama 'Gaslighting'.

 

Previously, filming for "Gaslighting" was suspended in August. About five episodes had already been filmed with the aim of airing in the second half of this year, but due to the female lead Kim Hee-sun's film promotion schedule and the change of production company from JPX Studio to Red Nine Pictures, the drama was reorganised.

 

Initially, Kang Hae-rim was set to star in "Gaslighting" as the mysterious Sena, a woman with many secrets and whose mind is not easily read. It was reported in April that the casting was confirmed. However, Kang Hae-rim dropped out after the drama was suspended, and "Gaslighting" recently resumed filming.

 

"Gaslighting" tells the story of Noh Young-won (Kim Hee-sun), a successful psychological counsellor and celebrity, who tries to protect her mother-in-law Hong Sa-gang (Lee Hye-young) and her happy family by working together to solve a case that threatens their home.

The film is created and directed by "Find Me" director Kim Seung-woo and written by web drama "So I Married an Antifan" writer Nam Ji-yeon.

Kang Hae-rim made her debut in the web drama "Idol Authority" in 2017, followed by appearances on KBS Joy's "Love Interference" and JTBC's "Live On. She then beat 600-to-1 competition to land her first lead role in the Netflix drama "Somebody" in November last year.

On November 8, MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama “Our Home” (literal title) announced that Kim Hee Sun and Lee Hye Young will star in the drama as the female leads Noh Young Won and Hong Sa Gang, respectively.

“Our Home” is a black comedy that tells the story of the main character Noh Young Won, who is recognized as the best family psychologist in Korea. Noh Young Won’s career and family are put at risk by an unknown blackmailer, and she tries to protect her family by collaborating with her mother-in-law and mystery novel writer Hong Sa Gang. Nam Ji Yeon of “So I Married the Anti-Fan” will write the screenplay, and producing director Lee Dong Hyun who helmed “Doctor Lawyer” and “She Knows Everything” will be in charge of production.

Kim Hee Sun takes on the role of Noh Young Won, Korea’s best family counselor who is loved by the general public. Noh Young Won is a character who lives a perfect life while juggling between work and family, but when an incident shakes everything up, she begins to cooperate with her mother-in-law Hong Sa Gang to protect her family.

Lee Hye Young plays Hong Sa Gang, a famous mystery novelist and a devoted mother to her only son Jae Jin. As Hong Sa Gang gets entangled with an incident that is out of her control, she begins to cooperate with her daughter-in-law Young Won, whom she was never happy with, risking all her life.

As we head towards the end of 2023 (already!), a fresh new crop of dramas are being planted for the new year and MBC announced that the screwball comedy and thriller Our House (previously Gaslighting) has been added to their 2024 lineup.

Kim Hee-sun (Remarriage & Desires) stars as celebrity personality Noh Young-won, a famed family psychologist with the picture-perfect life, magically balancing both work and family. Does she have secrets? Of course, this is dramaland after all. But with one mysterious incident, Young-won’s secrets tornado their way back into her life, threatening to endanger her happiness and loved ones.

 

With their family pushed to the plank, Young-won is unable to protect them on her own, forcing her to team up with her gruff mother-in-law Lee Hye-young (Big Bet), playing Hong Sa-kang. Nicknamed Korea’s Agatha Christie, Sa-kang is a popular mystery-thriller novelist and is fiercely devoted to her one and only son.

Enter Kim Nam-hee (Family: The Unbreakable Bond) as said son, named Choi Jae-jin. Although it isn’t stated, I would guess that Jae-jin must be hiding things as well because – so far – his character sounds too good to be true. Described as a doting husband and an understanding dad, Jae-jin is also a well-respected doctor.

Rounding out the main cast, we don’t yet know much about Yeonwoo (Numbers) in the role of Lee Se-na. All we’re told is that she’s very guarded, veiled in ~mystery~ and secrets.

On the production side, directing for the black comedy is helmed by PD Lee Do-hyun (Doctor Lawyer, She Knows Everything) with scripts penned by Nam Ji-yeon (So I Married an Anti-fan). Slated to premiere in 2024, MBC’s Our House will be airing in the weekend slot.

2 PM's Hwang Chan Sung has chosen his next K-drama project.

On November 21, Hwang Chan Sung's agency L' July Entertainment revealed that the idol actor will be joining the upcoming MBC K-drama Our House.

Hwang Chan Sung then shared his thoughts on joining the upcoming K-drama, "The drama has an interesting story and catchy lines. It's a project that encourages me to think about how I can improve, especially as I look forward to working with experienced seniors I respect. Rather than just memorizing lines, I find that working closely with other actors on set creates a good energy and makes each shooting day exciting."

Our House will be the follow-up K-drama project of Hwang Chan Sung after starring in the K-drama Bo Ra! Deborah with Yoo In Na, Yoon Hyun Min, Joo Sang Wook, Girls Day's Park So Jin, and iKON's Koo Jun Hoe.

Aside from his acting activities, Hwang Chan Sung is also active in meeting his fans globally. He recently had his solo fan meeting tour in Japan and he also collaborated with Hong Kong Tourism Organization. His short film with the tourism agency will be unveiled within the year.

On November 21, Chansung’s agency L. July Entertainment announced that Chansung will be starring in the new drama “Our Home.”

Chansung will take on the role of Noh Young Won’s younger brother Noh Young Min, a childish character unlike his older sister, who is a renowned family counselor in Korea.

Chansung expressed regarding his new project, “The drama ‘Our Home’ has a script with a novel story and lines full of great chemistry. While I have high anticipation because I get to work with great senior actors whom I have always respected, it is a project that makes me seriously think about how I can do better. My anticipation is growing day by day because I am getting better synergy by interacting with the actors on set rather than studying the script alone.”

“Our Home” recently kicked off filming with the goal of premiering in 2024.
