IU was 15 years old and it was her debut / first time in stage (8 years ago). Nobody knew her but while she was singing her ballad (song: MIA) some idol's fangirls were shouting to her (with a big level of hate): "You Pig!!!", "Get lost!!" and more. You can hear those curses at 1:12. Irrational hate just because she was chubby.

 

 

Those curses are no different from the destructive comments of sites like NATE. I do think the majority (if not all) of destructive comments towards celebrity girls are from girls related to the K-POP fandoms, being harsher towards idol girls because for them actors are above idols/singers (nonsense). Are girls and women full of prejudices. Her first album didn't do well, so IU's agency decided to go for cute songs and she began doing covers of popular songs with her guitar. Got public recognition as a talented girl and became popular quite quickly for her music and cute image. I imagine that a lot of those girls became jealous of her sudden success and by the amount of handsome singers and actors saying: "She is so cute", "So pretty", "My ideal type".  Comments from haters saying: "Don't think you are pretty, you ****" began to increase. The snakes were reproducing. IU is really strong, she don't want to loose. Even if she got hurt by comments that have damaged her self esteem, she won't be seen defected. And that's what those girls hate the most: that she is not crying, that she is not begging for their acceptance, that she still in the top. That's why they have to create multiple accounts (60 comments per hater in last scandal, based on IP? *in question mark because I am not sure about that IP info...I read it once in 2015) and make stories about her personality when in reality there is no video that can proof she doesn't have a nice one.

But yeah, during the SBS awards and after the "suspicious" implication? LJG has been in the business too long for that "beautiful" answer to be a slip-up. Seriously, of all the ways to respond to the drinking question, that's what he goes with? Okay, lol. Also, how about their attitude backstage after winning the Best Couple award? I've seen comments that they're both just good at acting - but that was such a spontaneous reaction to a comment they couldn't have known the interviewer would make. I still don't quite understand it, lol. 

I also can't get over IU being the one to initiate the hug at her Taiwan concert. I haven't been a fan of hers for very long, but my impression from longtime Uaenas is that was a surprising move on her part (and very unlike her). Plus she was so smiley and enthusiastic about him being there, and her laugh when the crowd reacted to them holding hands for all of a second, lol. I also don't understand LJG posting a vid of him taking IU's hand and purposefully making that a slo-mo moment? Why take the time to do that??? Is he just the ultimate SoSoo shipper? haha

I don't want to assume they're in a relationship, but at the same time, I really don't think it's unreasonable for some of us to think there's ~something~ there. What that something is, is up to interpretation. At the very least, they're obviously really good friends and imo, not just mere colleagues as some have suggested.

Sorry to cut your post. The article said it was 1 week ago they broke up. But, it's actually not 1 week ago. According to what I have read from IU Gallery and other community sites, they probably broke up around late September. Both agency don't confirm it was 1 week ago. Even there are article who predicted the time when Voldy and JE broke up. It's true that they have been breaking up and getting back for awhile. But, they broke up way before 1 week ago, it was around late September.

When JE said cutting her hair is freedom and she will have a lot of activities this year, I know for sure they already break up ^^

its not a big deal for me the statement because who knew what happen between JG and Jieun right now... not even agency knew excatly the nature of their friendship or what they been talk about cause that's private life of JG and Jieun... so in the end like Nicky Wu and LSS they announce the relationship without their agency knowing too.. i guess we will need to wait and see cause this time they in a hot zone....... if anything i don't think this will effect their friendship but i pretty sure they will lay low not to cause any damage...

Actually for me, that official statement from Namoo is the most appropriate & logical way to soothe current situation. But of course, they observed the situation first. If there was no buzz or anything that related the break up news to JG, I think, of course that official statement was not necessary.

But seems like, they cut netizens assumption as soon as possible before it's direct to worsen "accusations". If they do nothing, and ignore that rumor on JG's IG, I'm afraid it could lead to worsen "wild" mislead rumor & speculation from either crazy shipper or haters. And it could lead to another fans war. It just would hurt both JG & JE's image. And tbh, it's the best way to protect both JG & JE from bad rumor & speculation, so I'm fine with that, it's not like we aren't expected this.

We're not that childish, disrespectful  & egoist shipper that force anything they want and control JoonU's life. They do not wish for JoonU's happiness, but just want to force their desire & fulfill their own satisfaction as soon as possible. If you think logically, JG & JE are only human, it's not like change your clothes when it comes to relationship. They need some process to be through when it comes to feeling. Oh my... Please be more mature & understanding.

And yeah I do really respect JG more lately. Not just JE deserves JG, but JG deserves her too. I admit that I'm more into JE than him. It can be true that they are only friends.  As far as I know, In the case of Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi, they developed feelings after the drama and barely has contact in 2 years to know if their feelings were real or not. IU's rumors with Lee Joon Gi are basically that they are dating and that she left Kiha to be with him. Sincerely I don't think is the case.  

 

i love how well you relate our otp situation with nicky and LSS.. i felt soo much better. kekekeke.. developing feeling is not easy especially when Je is someone not easily open her heart. so we need to keep waiting and pray for them.

Hello all Stargazers!!

I can imagine oppa's face when he read all of those dating rumors...smirks..he got Wang So's eyes planted on him and said "So you want to mess with me?come on then..bring it on!" kekekekeke (okay..it's just me and my delulu's mind..hahaha). Anyway, I made a conclusion...

1. JG oppa is one of "A List" actor from Korea..he has made his debut in Hollywood. Only Lee Byung Hun who succeeded this by his movie "The Magnificent Seven" (I mean Denzel Washington?!! correct me if I'm wrong and if there're another K-actors who also played in Holly movies) SO that means...JG has and will reach great achievements..he's a one strong celebs with a great manner and personality too. So..will this rumors damage/tarnish his image? Maybe yes,maybe not but I can see..and no doubt, he's not afraid to this..of course because of the reasons above.

2. I won't worried he'll stay away from JE/IU coz from what I've learnt about him..he's a friendly person and he has this strong camaraderie/solidarity feels to those he knew. I noticed at SAF ceremony, how he greeted the other persons on stage (come on,seriously,he's the senior btw) and when he greeted to the senior actress (I forgot her name) - who played as his mother - while the others-supposedly also played as her children- didn't do the same thing. (Okay,maybe they're already greeted each other backstage..but still....). If he did this to someone whose considered as his acquaintance..just imagine what would he do to someone he considered as "close friend/colleague" ? I'm sure he won't budge and still keep his "so called friendship" with our JE. (if you lurk here...this is why I love you Oppa!!hahaha) Just see what he did to Milla..okay..you got my point right chingu? hehehe.

3. JE/IU is one of "A list" singers/idol and she's also a strong girl and has many friends (she's like JG in this side of her..sorry..I'm more into JG so I couldn't exactly describe of how her personalities are...lolol...but I'm certain 100% she's a nice person who loves all of her friends too..and don't get me wrong..I love her so much). SO of course...she won't cut her "friendship" with JG just like that.

I'm sure, even this time, they communicate each other...privately..we won't know...(maybe she said something like "Mianhe Oppa..I didn't mean to drag your name into this" and JG said something like "Kwinchana JE-ah...it's not your fault. Let's just stay strong...all of this will end eventually. You don't need to be too worried" ) AAAHHHHH!!! Honestly, up until recently I didn't take JoonU seriously at all, I just admired their chemistry/visual slayage and loved watching them together for reasons of SHR feels. When it was announced they'd walk the red carpet together? I was ecstatic, but didn't think there was anything strange about it. That interview with Lee Hwi Jae, though, actually made me sit up and start to question. Not just because of LJG's hilarious response (just rewatched the clip and he specifically says Jieun's name, not just "Haesoo", tf), but also because Lee Hwi Jae, an objective figure inside the industry (i.e. not an excitable SHR fangirl... presumably, lol), had things to say about their dynamic. Apparently the guy already knew about IU's breakup, and he found JoonU's dynamic unusual next to the other "best couple" winners.

Agreed too on IU and LJG's behaviour after getting the award. Like, if they were really bothered by the "suspicious" insinuations you'd imagine they'd dial down on the fanservice. Instead, they dialled it up further with not only the backstage antics but also the Taiwan get-togethers. 

IU's behaviour at her concert is exactly why interpretations of her supposed discomfort around LJG are genuinely baffling. (TBH I suspect that interpretation is an effort to shield IU from slander, since her comfort level around him might somehow reflect badly on her. IDK.) At most I see slight nervousness about being seen with him at the awards (understandable), but there's zilch discomfort of any kind at the concerts. At Joongi's fan-meet she even engaged in extended hand-holding (something they avoided doing on live television). I have nothing to add about LJG's behaviour, it requires no further comment, lmao.

Honestly, I think it's completely reasonable to assume at least a mutual physical attraction, which is really not abnormal at all among romantic co-stars. I don't get the need to vociferously deny that.

As a long-time follower of JG's dramas I really liked the chemistry he had with JE in Moon Lovers, as imho it was something that I hadn't seen from him previously (I've loved him as an actor but the romance parts in his dramas didn't convince me before). I actually started "to ship" them when the "coincidences" started to pile-up at the end of the year. Really for somebody like JG who had always been careful it felt unusual. Yes, it's true he's always been a gentleman to his co-stars but like that - well, let's just leave it as it's been discussed here a lot. While it's been fun to sometimes exaggerate coincidences, I think people here were and are more than well aware that some things may not necessarily be true. And just enjoyed the fun of it and kept it at a respectful level within this thread. That's one part but the other is, there are things that cannot be ignored and that's their undeniable closeness as seen at the drama awards and FMs and how happy they are around each other. 

Anyways, it's one thing to wish for their happiness (no matter in what state, being friends is perfectly fine after all but as people have stated que sera sera) but another to flock SNS with insensitive comments...I was really shocked about it tbh. It's something that should not be done under any circumstances. So I think the way in which this entire thing has been handled publicly was the right one for all parties involved. Ah, sorry for the rambling. So much has been said already, but I really needed to get this out of my system.

So, to all fellow stargazers: let's just keep on gathering and attending our coven meetings here. I seriously love all the support you've always shown and the positive vibes for whatever may happen.

Honestly, up until recently I didn't take JoonU seriously at all, I just admired their chemistry/visual slayage and loved watching them together for reasons of SHR feels. When it was announced they'd walk the red carpet together? I was ecstatic, but didn't think there was anything strange about it. That interview with Lee Hwi Jae, though, actually made me sit up and start to question. Not just because of LJG's hilarious response (just rewatched the clip and he specifically says Jieun's name, not just "Haesoo", tf), but also because Lee Hwi Jae, an objective figure inside the industry (i.e. not an excitable SHR fangirl... presumably, lol), had things to say about their dynamic. Apparently the guy already knew about IU's breakup, and he found JoonU's dynamic unusual next to the other "best couple" winners.

Agreed too on IU and LJG's behaviour after getting the award. Like, if they were really bothered by the "suspicious" insinuations you'd imagine they'd dial down on the fanservice. Instead, they dialled it up further with not only the backstage antics but also the Taiwan get-togethers. 

IU's behaviour at her concert is exactly why interpretations of her supposed discomfort around LJG are genuinely baffling. (TBH I suspect that interpretation is an effort to shield IU from slander, since her comfort level around him might somehow reflect badly on her. IDK.) At most I see slight nervousness about being seen with him at the awards (understandable), but there's zilch discomfort of any kind at the concerts. At Joongi's fan-meet she even engaged in extended hand-holding (something they avoided doing on live television). I have nothing to add about LJG's behaviour, it requires no further comment, lmao.

Honestly, I think it's completely reasonable to assume at least a mutual physical attraction, which is really not abnormal at all among romantic co-stars. I don't get the need to vociferously deny that.

 

their behavior during the SAF was the highlight tbh. with the unseen fancam of the chair incident and so on. it has become a topic once again. not to mention when ppl was labelling JE friendzone JG by calling him sunbaenim. hahahahaha. and that so called friendzone ppl called even make another highlight in taiwan.

the hug JE gave JG was once of the memorable and unforgettable moment ever!!

Hello Stargazers!

Been away from thread for two days...while fighting war at work, and outside thread for our OTP individually.

Havent backread, but yet...I still do believe at our ship is still sailing, not like what other been saying, our ship had sank.

IMO...maybe this had been mentioned it already, but I think Namoo jump out for the clarification statement is a must for our situation now, it is to protect our JoonU, but not sinking our JoonU ship. I always have faith in our ship, and I still do. Of course I couldnt force everyone to stay on board, as it is the toughest period now, where all the haters and anti are sneering at our ship, the waiting games had started officially, and it might be a warzone period now, it is for me, and a few of us, who believe strongly in our ship, which had becoming the warrior, the defender, the stalker of hater comments, we defending as much as we could, to put the message across to those haters, those had been sneering at us. I am not giving up, I am fighting even harder, for our OTP individually. Defending is the least that we can do for uri JoonU.

The toughest period always build the greatest friendship, I had encountered it, and I had feel it too, thanks dearest, you all know who you are, you had been my trashing ground, always boost me up when I am down, and supporting each other in our just started war. Just to tell you, I love you guys.

I understand those had been upset by Namoo statement, and had decided to leave us, and of course I respect all members decision. And even I am too late, I still like to say, thanks for staying with us when you believe, we had fun, joy and laughter, you might be just silent reader, those who doesnt posted much, or even those whom I had interact with, alot, cause I dunno who had left.
