Popular Post doramaluv
Thank you all for your keen insights and thorough observations about this drama. Your words most certainly led me to view this drama in a new perspective. I initially watched this because of the good-looking casts and frequent advertisements I keep seeing on viki fb, and I didn't give much thought to it except that it is a light-hearted show. However, after reading all your posts, I feel that there is a deeper meaning to this show than what can be seen as a viewer. In addition, although the plot is fictional, I can't help but to connect CP's character with the actual King Hyo Myeong, and BY with the actual Kim Byung Yun (sp?). It just saddens me when I read about their history and life. What a bittersweet feeling. Also, thank you @MaknaeC for pointing out the good subtle things that RO did for her love. I was too focused on the boys in this show and how they're always saving her that I totally forgot about the little things she did. Her conflicted teary eyes at the end of ep 12 combined with CP's relief yet unaware look as he saw RO's return just breaks my heart. I hope she will stick with him till the end like she had promised because I can't stand to see CP cry again. He lost his mother at a young age and yearns for love and companionship, so it will be heart wrenching if he has no one by his side to help him through the tough times. Overall, I feel that none of the characters in this drama are truly happy, be it poor or rich, commoners or royalties. They're always in conflict with either themselves or someone else and they all have their desires and needs, and because of this, they all live in agony. Not one person in this drama lives a carefree life. Even when our OTP are together, they are not truly happy given their circumstances. Thinking back, I wonder if it's the same with other kdrama? That's why I hope that we get a happy ending, with all their problems resolved in a sensible manner.

Popular Post saaraahaanaa
Hi all! Good Sunday! Ok, recently my colleagues asked me which drama I watch nowadays, I brightly replied, our dearest MDBC! But, when they ask what is it about, or is it good, my only reply is big splash grin, uncontrollable giggles with incomprehensible it’s so good. I blame myself for not being eloquent enough to describe to other people why I like this show so much, I even spends lots and lots of money to buy internet data just to have access to the shows and to spazz with you guys over here! THEN I realize I need to rant out, so be prepared for the following long long post from your dearest. P/S credit to dramabeans, dramawiththasideofkimchi and fellow moonlighters whose thought and responses whom I might have quoted and repeated below. I follow this thread and MDBC recaps too much that all my writings are jumbled up of personal opinion and others’ thorough thoughts and detailed analysis. The introductory plot Where do story comes from if not from the plot? When I first heard about MDBC, it have simplistic plot which makes me laugh. So simple and fluffy, a crown prince falls in love with his crossdressing eunuch, who is by the way a love counsellor. How laughable is that? Not in a bad way, it just put a smile on my face, the same way You’re Beautiful plot sounds, an emo band singer falls in love with a crossdressing twin of a real singer which is by the way a nun! I was on leave, and itching of watching something new and light, the plot shoots up my interest to 150%! Given the timing and my light-hearted mood, the introductory plot is 9/10! The actual plot Oh boy, I didn’t see this coming. The first two episodes have rainbows and fireworks and delivers exactly what the introductory plots intended to; I like that it kept its promise. Funny, cheeky leads, a hint of bromances, and subtle hints of youthful romances. But moving to episode 3 onwards, oh my, this show slays me. By episode 4, a dancing Ra-On, tugs my heart to pieces. The thing is, I don’t see any plot devices for the sake of achieving its goals, or solving its conflict. The pace is so calm, for the lack of better of word, as in the writer is not rushing into things, it allows time for characters growth, it allows lingering feelings, it gives time for us appreciate and understand the nuances and subtlety of emotions delivered by the characters. Yet, it moves, each plot, from the very beginning. Example, the plot which Ra-On help Master Jung to meet his lover, though enticed by good money, shows Ra-On willing to go through her promise even though she thought it was the love for another man. Even to the point of episode 2, during the drinking scene, even in her subconscious mind, she is sad that her Master Jung could not be with his lover because LY has found another one in BY. Oh my god, so funny, yet the plot shows Ra-On character! The Qing Envoy plots, allows us to show a worthy king in LY, who is calm and level headed, using his BRAIN to outsmart the evils, shows us friendships are still alive among our three musketeers, and even cemented LY feelings to the female lead. Talk about killing more than 2 birds with one stone! And they don’t dwell into the minor plots to long, all solve within an episode, or max within the same week! The plot rocks, I give 9/10! The writing/directing So many quotable lines, swoon my hearts, weakens my knees and just smash my hearts to a puddle of goo. The line that started is this: - It’s easy to help those who are hungry, but difficult to help those who are heartbroken because they tend to lie that they’re okay. How about sharing affection with someone rich in heart? All right. The richest person in heart across Joseon is me. I give you this as a piece of affection. Oooohhh, slays my heart! There are so many others. Credit to P-chan comments on dramabeans, http://www.dramabeans.com/2016/10/team-dramabeans-what-were-watching-19/ There a tonnes of quotable lines, the one in episode 3 where LY ask his father to be there in his difficult times, cries.. The writers have done excellent job to date, repackage the whole been there done that scenes with their own signature lines, crushing one cliché at a time. A crown prince who apologizes to an eunuch for not revealing himself earlier? A girl who ask her lover not to let go of her hand? A second lead who is giving option to the female lead but not forcing his way to win her heart? And sacrifice himself for the prince i.e. the sword-stopping-using-bare-hand-scene? A bodyguard who is conflicted to be loyal to both his friend and his rebellion leader? The directing. Oh my, beautiful scenes plus beautiful music. The dancing Ra-on showcases the right use of character, music background. In the middle of the scene, it goes back to earlier days reminiscing crown prince love for his mother, then transporting the leads back to the field with so near yet so far hand reaching scene.. It just capture the magic, all emotions in that particular dance. No words can describe the quality of the shots, the slow motion graceful stride of the LY both when he wants to introduce his name, then when he rescue Ra-On from Qing’s envoy… oooooohhhhh, it added the swoon level to the max. Then the music on que with Gummy song, damn TOOO MUCH FEELSSSS! Kudos to directors, editors, scriptwriters and music directors!! It 9/10! The characters They are so, normal! Ok, normal is an exaggeration, at least they are not the typical leads of rom-com, haha… there are no jerky male lead, he is brainy, smart, badass (he knows how to fight and shoots on target!!!), swoony, cheeky, steadfast.. oh my god I can go on and on. He is just so perfect. Even when he makes mistake, when he realises it he apologizes! Immediately! See example the one where he teases Ra-On being so masculine, then carry one admitting in love with a maiden which leads to misunderstanding on Ra-on side. Then, he immediately reach out to her to explain that she is the maiden he’s in love with, so jangggg! Ra-on, oh so believable as pretty young boy, not your typical female lead who cowers upon realisation of the dangers ahead, hold tight to her man once she made the promise. The back hug scene, so real and raw! She does not allow LY to play with her heart, see scene where she ask whether he’s in love with a maiden. That’s my girl! Hayeon is not bitchy, yet so bold and so cute herself, BY conflicted yet still a loyal friend. I love teacher Da-San, moms (not the evil queen of course), master jung and cutie princess, little princess, lady suk-ui.. All are not one note characters, they are lovable in their own way that made you care for them and root for their happy ending! It 9/10! The actors Ok, you got good plot, good script, good directors and lovable characters. To deliver these to the audience, are the actors. And wowzer! They deliver top notch performance. Prince LY… Hats off to PBG, he delivers the line so swoonily, if there is such a word, heck he invented the word! He embodied the character so well that each love, adoration, hate, anger seems so genuine and delivered so well. I CAN FEEL WHAT HE FEELS. Then, KYJ. She really blew me away in TMTETS, and here she rocks again. Her voice, so mature, poise and it felt grounded. She’s believable as pretty young boy, a very very pretty one as her mannerisms is boyish but not excessive. If PBG has thousands of facial expression, KYJ may have less, but doesn’t mean she’s a lesser actor. She still felt real. I CAN FEEL WHAT SHE FEELS. It just the method of acting is different, but both effective. And chemistry, BOOM! Of the charts! Together, they are the cutest, most adorable, youthful couple in a long long time. I cannot remember the last time I felt so giddy looking at young couples that have such electrifying sizzling chemistry, that only staring with each other would turn me hot. Hehehe.. The other actors delivered top notch acting as well, it is so well rounded that you don’t see any acting hole. But of course my love for the lead actors trumps all hahahahha.. It 9/10! Conclusion Ok, why do I like, scratch that, why do I love MDBC? ALL OF IT. It has good plot, scripts, directors, OST, music backgrounds, characters, and deliciously conveyed by a pool of talented actors with amazing chemistry. This is a show where everything sound so simple in a summary plot, yet done so well that it amazes me that I just cannot attribute the love of it to one single attributes. It’s the wholesome package that delivers with heart and soul. p/s: not yet 10/10 because we still have 6 episode to go. I trust you MDBC, keep rocking like this, you’ll earn the top spot of my most favourite drama of all time =)

Grace1003
Has this been posted? Unsurprisingly, sales of Yoon Yi-soo’s original novels for Moonlight Drawn By Cloudshave received a boost from the popularity of the show, and have sold 200,000 copies to date since becoming available in March 2015 (sales had been steady until the drama premiered, and have skyrocketed since). The pace makes the Moonlight books the most popular youth sageuk romance since The Moon That Embraces the Sun — the 2005 novels were adapted into the Kim Soo-hyun and Han Ga-in-starring drama in 2011, which helped boost sales of those books to 800,000. The original work thatSungkyunkwan Scandal was based on sold 800,000 copies domestically, 150,000 copies in China and 140,000 in Japan, and there are plans to translate the Moonlight books into Chinese, Japanese, and Thai as well. Popular Post Grace1003
Team Dramabeans: What we’re watching by DB Staff | October 1, 2016 | 215 Comments Girlfriday Spoiler Moonlight Drawn By Clouds and Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo: So… in a nutshell, here were the confessions I heard back to back from two princes this week: If you tell me you love another man, I’ll murder him. And: I will make you a new country where a woman can live as a woman. Guess which one made me swoon. But confessions aside, Moon Lovers FINALLY stepped up its game in Episode 11 and made me feel things, so I’m hoping against hope that things stay dialed up like this for the rest of its run. HeadsNo2 Moonlight Drawn By Clouds: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Lollypip Moonlight Drawn By Clouds: The prince and his eunuch have me collapsed in a pile of goo, and I’m loving every minute of it. And for once, I don’t even mind the political machinations, since they seem to enhance the love story yet never overshadow it. This show keeps a perfect balance that never falters. Laica Moonlight Drawn By Clouds: Real life has been kind of rough the last couple of weeks, as I’ve been both super busy and very sick, so this is the only show I’ve had a chance to watch. I must say though, there were days when our Ra-on and her swoony crown prince were the only things that brought a smile to my face (other than my 11-month-old nephew). I’m amazed that this show is consistently cuter than babies even after six weeks, while still employing storytelling with so much depth and heart that I feel a full range of emotions over the hour. Things are starting to get more serious for our adorable pair, but I have faith that the feels will stay real and satisfying until the end.
