I'm not trying to say that MLSHR will be the same, but rather I fear the possibility that the second season will disappoint us in some way... If they do end up making a second season, I'd still watch it to support the cast (& LJG) keke :3 Yeah the one who wrote it made us worked up like we are PMSing

Popular Post Silvermaine
Okay chingu I JUST HAVE TO RANT OUT STUFF. I've become super sensitive because of this drama to the point that I abhor fans who can't comprehend the bigger picture. I want to bash the head of haters too. Now there's this Facebook page of MLSHR where the admin is an obvious Jung bias. God I RICHARD SIMMONS hate it. People were speaking of his love, and well... Yeah he sorta redeemed himself from his former idiocy because of the last episode but I'm just really #TeamWangSo all the way. "Ohhhh I want a man like Jung." "His love is so great." Get the RICHARD SIMMONS outta here. Jung never experienced discrimination, lack of love, injustice, violence, he never had to make the difficult choice of killing his brother, he was never threatened with the life of his loved ones. He was basically as spoiled as any brat could be. So had the BEST development out of all the characters. His love was the GREATEST. He had love for Soo, for his brothers, even for queen adashagshah, and of course for the nation. I can't even begin to comprehend what great strength it took him to walk away from his daughter!!! I just hate it when he's unacknowledged LOL I'M SO SORRY HUHUHUHU I KNOW SO AND JUNG'S relationship will eventually get better but come on guys So is basically Batman and Jesus of Goryeo or something. /endrant On another note, I'm going to Seoul this December and I'm looking forward to buy all the MLSHR products I can get hold of HAHAHAH

Ainee Etp
Can someone help me to recognize the background music name? The part when WS holding HS's ash urn and crying "Let's go home." I was so sure that little girl is wook's daughter that later will have a son with baek ah (like history told). But now not so sure, because I really confused with her age. Isn't booksoon much older than hae soo's child? And I don't remember wook got married before hae soo and king get together. Or, did I miss something? As far as I can tell, the timeline was all over the place in the second part of the finale - in both version. WS & HS's daughter is supposed to be born around 952. Queen Heonjung was born around 966. Wang Chi, her brother, was born in 960. So, when WW speaks about "the children" it is supposed to be around 969 for he died in 969 - BA's visit happens around his time of death - and the girl is not a baby. The problem is it is referred to Ju's birthday in two instances in the international version and, as there is no sense of time in visual narration, our brain automatically links the two to create the timeline. So we assume - really it is totally normal - it is the same moment in time as it should be but if it is then WS & HS's daughter should be around 17 and GJ 44, but at the time YH speaks of the reforms as if it is something on going or at least quite new which would put it around 960. Popular Post cancergirl87
Finally, the journey ends…After 20 episodes of emotional roller coaster ride, Moon Lovers Scarlet Heart: Ryeo (MLSHR) will be the most memorable drama in my entire experience of watching K-dramas. To summarize, these are the reasons that make MLSHR memorable for me (in no particular order), and some of them may have been mentioned by other Eclipses before (disclaimer: this is going to be a long post and solely based on my opinion): This is the first K-drama ever that gets my attention not because of the news, the story, nor the whole remake/adaptation from Chinese version issue. I simply eager to watch the drama because Lee Joon Gi posted his pic wearing a sageuk attire in his Instagram (at that time I honestly did not know his sageuk was from which era, as long as it was not from Joseon… He wore Joseon attire too often that I really wanted to see him wearing different attire for this sageuk drama, though I also loved his attire in Iljimae… Again, this is just my opinion ). After I saw his pic, I began to search the news related to the drama. This is also the first ever in my K-drama history list that broadcasted different version in its homeland and in other countries. While I am disappointed, I am also quite amused regarding this issue. Having two versions (I remembered someone said that there were three versions, not to mention that the difference in episode 18 was massive) actually makes me understand the story deeper than if we only have one version. Though, the best option should be providing more episodes to cover the whole story (not forcing it into 20 episodes, sigh~~~). And this is why we need that uncut DVD/Blu-ray version so badly to understand what kind of story that the writer tried to convey to the viewers. I love the cinematography and the costumes (well, not so much for the amount of close-up shots). This is the first K-drama ever that made me patiently wait for Monday and Tuesday to come and tried to watch it in the original airing time of each episode (I cried when I could not watch episode 8 and 9 because I had to go out of town and there was no OneTV channel in the hotel plus the wifi and the signal were sucks), created an account to join with other Eclipses in a forum/thread, and jeopardized the rest of my week since it basically gone like this: Monday -> lurked in Soompi thread and watched new episode of MLSHR Tuesday -> read recaps of MLSHR, lurked in Soompi thread, and watched new episode of MLSHR Wednesday -> read recaps of MLSHR and lurked in Soompi thread Thursday – Sunday -> still lurked in Soompi thread but plus other social medias to find news/BTS clips/BTS pics related to MLSHR And then… back to Monday again Contrary to the mass opinion that idols or models can’t act, I am glad that I gave this drama a try before judging anyone. Putting aside the original actors and actresses, the idols and the models turned out to be not that bad in acting department. Also, never in my entire experience of watching K-dramas, I want to group hug them this badly. They worked extra hard and delivered the story and the character to the best of their interpretation (well, there were some parts that still lacked but let’s hope they will improve in the future). Sadly, this drama was butchered by bad editing which consequently contributed to low rating. The only consolation for me was, at least, they interacted in social media and fed us with happy things. I deeply thank them for keeping the BTS pics and finding the right moment to post them for our pleasure. I never know that a baseball game can annoy me. With the whole fiasco of baseball game versus MLSHR, I will forever be reminded of MLSHR each time I hear the word “baseball”. I never know that in a K-drama, the amount of the cute and lovely scenes could be directly proportional with the tragic scenes, if not less. MLSHR was a tragic story indeed, sigh~~~ (I should prepared my heart better when I knew from news of how things went in the novel and the C-version). Thanks to MLSHR, a lot of Eclipses finally show their incredible capabilities as analysts, historians, mathematicians, astronomers, commentators (bow to those who gave live recaps and comments for the baseball games), writers (I will read fan fictions after this), and seers (some eclipses had predicted future episodes accurately). And OH MY GOSH!!! I definitely loves all of the soundtracks for MLSHR, from the song to the instrumental music. I usually have a selective choice of OST for other K-dramas, but this is not the case with OST of MLSHR. Well, I’ve said what I want to say… and thank you in advance for those of you who spare your time to read this long post. ^^ PS: please ignore the numbering format please since I have technical issue about that.. roneddski
I'm glad that I took the advice to watch the RM episode.. Wasn't really a fan of RM but was looking for a cure from the drama, and the episode brought me back to the happy times of the princes.. The only difference is that Wang So is the big brother this time around taking good care of his dongsaengs Yo and Wook lol Didn't know LJK is so funny and has so good variety skills! Puzzling as to why he didn't appear on more variety shows before. Hong Jong Hyun gives me a different vibe from the drama and I'm impressed by his precise archery even when shooting on a moving floating platform.. I bet he secretly put in those extra practices for his Wang Yo's role. If anyone who hasn't watch it.. pl watch it now.. Trust me, it does wonders to solving all those depression
Popular Post shiraru
Seems that LJG is also So-Soo shipper, ahahahaa...I think he also wanted the happy ending for both of them, but since it got cut, he posted this for his and the fans's healing process Strangely, I started to think that this is what he meant by "Soon"...I kinda feel that we won't get that happy ending cut, because of the things that happened behind the scene (writing, editing, etc) seems really complicated. I can only speculate though, I might be wrong...

It's the depth of their love that matters despite their separation. This drama will become an all time classic of how the ending was beautifully and elegantly done. The kind of ending that allows the audience to participate and picture the ending in however they want based on their circumstance and experience. It feels real and anyone can relate, though in different ways as each individual is unique. The kind of unclimatic happy ending? They are less remembered through times. I am very glad that they did not meet in the 21st century, otherwise it may spoil the whole thing. This drama has become my all time favourite. Glad to know I'm not the only one who think this drama is beautiful as it is and like the ending. Yes, the ending of MLSHR is much much much better than BBJX. I love the naration of WS in ending. That's line is tooooo beautiful than he meet GHJ in modern era, and just saying " do you know me?" *Eerrrr... Rolling eyes* And I don't want this drama to have season 2. Because i know, season 2 will ruining my memory about cool WS and his love to HS.
Popular Post zi4r
Hmmm... This thread seems to have slowed down considerably. I guess everyone's in withdrawal or recovery mode. I still haven't found the time or courage to watch the finale SBS version with subs, or to re-watch the DF version. Last night, after work, I couldn't bring myself to back-read this thread or watch MLSHR... so I thought I would watch some other LJG drama to fill the void before bed. But it seems, MLSHR has totally spoiled the whole sageuk K-Dramaland for me. As much as I rant about how MLSHR didn't live up to its potential when it comes to plot or character development or editing, in terms of visual appeal, it's truly unmatched (at least for me). I'm a very visual person. As much as I care about a drama's characters & plot, the visual appeal matters the most to me, because without that, I cannot immerse myself at all in the experience. And when it comes to MLSHR, the flawlessness of the action scenes & other technically complex scenes, the gorgeousness of the costumes & locations, the almost poetic beauty of certain scenes, the almost otherworldly beauty of LJG...... They all make other dramas totally unwatchable to me now. Last night, I tried LJG's "Arang" & "Scholars", Kim Soo-hyun's "Moon that Embraces the Sun" and Lee Min-ho's "Faith"..... They all used to visually engage me. But now, I can't even watch them. I keep seeing flaws everywhere in terms of editing & acting. The wide-angle scenes are lacking in terms of visual appeal. The more technical scenes are choppy & unbelievable. Even LJG's acting fluctuates in terms of quality. I didn't realize how magnificent LJG truly is in MLSHR, until I tried to re-watch his earlier sageuks. I now realize that when we complain about poor-editing in this drama, it's only the OST & scene-sequencing that's the issue. In terms of frame-by-frame editing for each scene, MLSHR is excellent in almost every scene...... especially in technically complex scenes. I don't understand how a director who is capable of such quality still makes the mistake of the "close-up madness" that plagues MLSHR. I also don't understand how the editing team that is capable of flawless work in technically complex scenes also made a mess out of scene-sequencing. It's like everyone's suffering from schizophrenia --- brilliant in some ways, utterly terrible in other ways. Now, I realize I'm so screwed. I love sageuk and I love LJG. But I am not sure whether another sageuk or another LJG drama will ever live up to the visual quality of this one. So last night, I ended up re-watching "Two Weeks" because it's so gritty & stark that it brings an entirely different type of visual appeal. It seems, I now have very limited choices of K-Dramas I can enjoy. So thanks, MLSHR, for not living up to my expectations, and yet spoiling the whole sageuk-land with your brilliance. This drama has f***ed up my life in too many different ways to count. P.S. My 13-hr work-days are going to continue at least until Tuesday, it seems. No weekend for me. I guess, I should just give up on trying to back-read everything on this thread. So, Eclipses, I'll see you when I see you, I guess.
