in Ep 1 & 2 we get a peek in the dynamics of JE and HG relationship.   Where HG basically says that JE been the giver and the person has expressed love the most.  We also get foreshadowing that this couple will be in pain.

HG: Closing your lips, closing your ears, closing heart, That's me, not you, Choi Jin eon

After JE is lying down crying for ES.  HG comes out and offers him a drink like no biggie (Another fine time to drop the act)

JE tells her lets break up before we dislike and hurt each other.

HG comes close to say I always but stops herself.

HG:You did more than your share, I know, I know so from now on, I will love you to death

HG: You know my  time has come

HG say she will be the one to love more, to take care of things.

We also see why they are in such a state.  JE cannot get past ES and HG after seeing JE crying out on the lawn for  ES. Comes out and say drink with your wife.  To JE she wife and mother but never admits it later she confirms it by saying she forgot ES.   She says she knows right now that JE hates  her but they will grow old like that.

HG does want to move on with JE.  However JE needs her to have an honest dialogue about SE passing.    The caring sensitive person he is cannot understand HG utter lack of emotion and almost disdain of their child.  In fact they she said it was like was  the neighbors pet dog.

We see him breaking down at home and at crematorium.  We see him composed at work. The only one he can be vulnerable to is  HG.

As was said by @jadecloud that fishbone was there. Until was out neither could move on.

HG fist confession to JE was never heard because he was behind a wall of grief.  The other thing is HG knew that her actions made JE hate her (HG says I know you hate me) but she thought he would get over it and they would grow old pitting each other.   I think that was her self delusional  hope in never having to deal with ES death.

This when i believe it "dead Jim"   when one person wants out and the other believes a life together of pity   and hate is preferable to talking about your true feelings. Then to think of bring up child in that environment?  Yeah it is exhausting and painful. The truly sad part was both were talking and neither was listening.

Je wanted to deal with ES.  HG wanted JE to tell her how to be like him.  She was going to try but she needed to know how.  The truly sad thing is HG is trying to clean a white suite with mud on her hands.   The relationship cannot be repaired without dealing with core issue.

Edited:  All the above was before the affair.

A final aside  JR is like a serpent whispering bad advice.   Would HG have focused on SR if not for JR words?   Remember in ep 1.  JR goes to the hotel to get TS.  she enjoyed ruining that marriage with FUD.  (fear uncertainty and doubt)

POV... That's why... JR is the protagonist in HK's life..She's giving HK the initial source to instigate KSL...

Friday --- 7 PM EST --- 13 hours til Epi. 31.    :D

Now, I just wonder.... will the new song OST be save until the BIG EMOTION reunion of HK/JE NEXT weekend? And will we only hear a few more Tantalizing, Tempting, Teasing pieces of the sensuous Tango inspired OST?

@Lmangla called it so well!  The dance that Hae Gang & Jin Eon have been performing since they first met --- more sophisticated steps, more subtle moves, performed experienced  dancers with many years of practice --- skilfully executing intricate moves, totally in tune with each other's steps and graceful body movements.

SPOILER --- Careful!  I went overboard!  The Tango is so beautiful.

Spoiler

For starters:"Scent of a Woman" (SBS, 2011) Lee Dong Wook & Kim Sun-a :  -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hReqkr9JUU

And this one ---Not a Tango --- But scene from a movie that shows how communication + love = perfect dance performance (i.e., Marriage) --- Moon Geun Young & Park Gun Hyung in the film "Innocent Steps" (2005) --- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vzqul2zobls   and also  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDojg-ps6tg

A.  Origin &  Variations --- https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Tango.

 B.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=    and    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlVaYgwS4Gsnd  and

C.    Al Pacino in "Scent of a Woman) --- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdJ5cp8mYkE

D.   Tango Argentino --- Milongra style --- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5p6GiX84-_s

E.   Tango Callajero Original  (argentino) & Milongra---https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGl3o1rzK74

I copied the lyric to the little bit of the new Song in the OST.  Played during JE's "confession" in Episode 30.

I want you so much and much more

My love that can't be satisfied

Even if there's so much hatred

My love that is not  working out how I want it to

Even though I hate you, to me, your love is all I need

Maybe a more lyrical and romantic translation will come when the OST is finally released.

OOPS! I fooled around so much, watching couples Tango --- It's actually 9:30 PM.  Not very much longer now!

@kikotaichou --- I've put a site that works really well beneath the spoiler. I just signed in to it and it's working just great. A sageuk drama or movie is on right now.  The site freezes for a second or so from time to time.

But I have a question --- Do Korean TV stations run 24 hours a day? Or not?  Earlier today, around 1 PM here (3 AM in Seoul), I couldn't get SBS TV.  Nothing happening!   Anybody know about this?

Spoiler

    www.zoptv.com/live/sbs-tv

The drama is"Six Flying Dragons" --- I see Yoo Ah In.   I've passed on this 50 episode drama -- YAI and Kim Myung Min by themselves really great favorites of mine.  Knew I'd want to follow in the forum --- but felt it would be more intensity than I want right now!  But Later... OH, Yes!

I very much doubt that she would have been happy with JE if he wasn't the son of a pharma magnate, she probably would have long broken up with him if he had nothing to offer to satisfy her hunger for power and i feel HK is too much like GN and when GN discussed her relationship with HK's dad, It felt her parents had exactly the same relationship as JE and HK.

One of HK's biggest flaws is that she didn't listen to JE and just did what she wanted, maybe their life together would have be more happy if only HK listened to JE, JE made it clear to her that he wanted nothing to do with the company but using the excuse that if was for his sake while fulfilling her greed to own the company as if JE would gladly receive the company when she gets the company, of course JE is a grown man and already knows what he wants and needs so he was never going to appreciate HK efforts in trying to own the company as he never wanted it in the first place.

I wonder if HG lost one of her justifications for being the way she was after ES death.  We all live for our family and sometimes we justify our actions by saying we are doing for our children.  Maybe JE did not want to be part of the company but HG had to protect his position for ES.  This is pure conjecture at this point because we not really seen a lot of ES HG interaction.  She had to use every means necessary to ensure that CNY was ES legacy. so when her actions to do that, result in ES death.  Can she deal with it?

@trust71 JR is definitely the multi faceted   antagonist works against JE happiness if she think sJE love like someone HG/SR she against it unless it helps ruin JE and any chance in the company.  Then we have her against HG, well because HG had loving husband, respect in the company and ability.  She got tht position as daddy's girl and had force respect out of everyone and treated people like crap.  HG just commanded respect even though her background was not grand. She also works hard to kill any happiness in the home.  At the end of the day JR is most likely the loneliest  person in this drama.

Your post reminded me of an observation I had when watching ep 30, and had screencapped...But first, I love this OST. Can't wait for it to be released this weekend. I hope soon.

The editing in sync with the specific song lyrics at the specific take of that kneeling scene... I thought it was superb, and perhaps a subliminal message there from PDnim or writernim to viewers...NO?

HK-centric...

EP 2 45:13 to 46:51  seems like the inspiration for this scene. As HG and JE switch places with exception of only one talks about SE.

POV .. Another reason  JE wanted to divorce KH because of the pictures of his affair with KS and  he though KH was the instigator of the incident. I think he was disappointed and dissillusion in KH as a wife.

@mdj101 ~ never understood the expression "it takes two to tango" till I just randomly attended some free ballroom dance class for fun. had no idea how hard it is to follow and trust someone to lead and then to listen to each other body cues on the dance floor and move at the right time in the same direction -- these are part of the communication problems that happen in a relationship and then I understood why ballroom dances are often equated to relationships. so waltz is often seen as the expression of most romantic while tango is often used to express volatile, highly passionate relationships...

here's two examples that I recalled that are a little bit different. this tango is from "so you think you can dance" and what is interesting is the judges described it as a quiet tango, one that a couple would dance at home and it depicts an established relationship in its groove and there is even a smile! it is a joyful tango and this might what their dance would look like HE and JK if they settled in to a relationship at the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-VG27HCecQ

this waltz reminds me of JE and HK. now usually the waltz is all romantic but this waltz from "dancing with the stars" has an extremely different vibe and the song they are dancing to is christina augillera's "just a fool" and it is about loving someone who had cheated. if JE and HK learn to put aside their differences, this is what their dance struggle might look like...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7nt9Fr0ruA

part of the lyrics:

I said that I don't care
I'd walk away whatever
And I tell myself we were bad together (uh huh)
But that's just me trying to move on
With
Out
You

But who am I kidding
I know what I'm missing

@Lmangla --- I surely can estimate very closely how long it had been since Eun Sol"s death.   I figured it to be within 2 weeks of the one year anniversary. And I think that is why Jin Eon visited her memorial burial site that day. Because it is a year since they buried the child. But he probably goes there very often.

My calculations:

September 26, 2011 --- HK's "accident"

June 26, 2011 --- "Three Months Prior" and the 1st of the 9 episodes begins.

June 15, 2010 --- Death of Eun Sol.

thanks @mdj101 ; then it is seriously bad timing on her part. even if she wasn't motivated by his family to provide another heir, talking about having another child when it is not even the one year anniversary yet and not showing up for her birthday would have seemed very crass, disrespectful and very hurtful to him. after all, a child is not like a thing that can be replaced by another...

@Lmangla--- Beautiful videos@  And I can see them in the Waltz.  But I always switch over to Youtube to watch the videos --- and look what I found  --- Maksim & Meryl & a Tango!   Watched them practice with her doing a backward leap and then astounded when I saw how spectacular it was in the final performance.  Maksim has the same solid, sturdy body that JJH has, as well!

And the bodice of Meryl's dress was almost exactly like the one actress Moon Geun Young wore in the final dance contest in the movie "Innocent Steps" (2003). I highly recommend it --- she is another amazing actress, who never fails to give a fantastic performance, IMHO. Never expected to see her dance SO WELL!

@jadecloud & others --- Thank you for giving new meaning to "The Doors" ---so darned funny. And how interesting the way the lyrics match up with each of them!  And @DelroyB, the scene from Episode 2 --- really does look like it's the inspiration for the scene.

It's scary the way HK remembers exactly what each person said that stung her so painfully. Of course, Writer Bae "cued" her!  But still, some things are simply burned into our memories, aren't they?

@tambui --- Many Huge Thanks for those adorable picture of HK, JE, & BS.  I will  fall back on them when all heck breaks loose when HK & BS try to look like a new couple!

@Lmangla --- I just had to look for a good video of Christina Aguilera's song on Youtube. I 've never heard it. And this video with Blake Shelton  really felt like it represented how each of them, Hae Gang & Jin Eon, may have felt.   So as we countdown to the next episode, I though it would be worth listening to  --- I'm becoming aware of the importance of the OST songs and the background music in enhancing the dramas.

OMG    SBS TV is running KPOP STARS competition now --- another little prodigy sending the entire panel "over the moon" and giving JYP "the rapture of joy" at what she can do with her untyrained voice.  Maybe I'll marathon (with Eng subs) so I hear what they're saying.  That & the Shaolin Temple training show may keep me awake!

Thanks for this treats! @Lmangla   Enjoy both dances.  The first is sort of smothering sexy.  The second one is passionate  courtship like - attract and repel :)  And the music is great for both.  A visual treat!

Wow! Another follow up treat!  @mdj101 Thanks all for sharing.  The practice part is sexy too! :D Sorry, am I off focus??  Wow, the actress? is so toned - her arm muscles!! And when she leaps, it's like she's a feather or what??!! I love this particular move - the Dragging.  Their previous dance with Aguilera song, there was a drag too that is so - beautiful for want of a better word.

she makes it look so effortless no? hahaha... but think she was some sort of athlete like a gymnast @lenet but it doesn't mean those steps are even remotely easy.... @mdj101 ~ funny how I have listened to that song before because of this waltz video but when you mentioned how the lyrics describe the relationship between HK and JE so perfectly and listened to it again with that in mind, it was like so true!... especially the duet with Blake Shelton, what a voice that man has! :)
