SYJ is an artist under IMX and I understand BYJ is a shareholder of IMX right? ....

More connection..

Well, it's just pure speculation but I wouldn't object if there are going to be two less lonely people in the world and two more finding fulfilment in love. Probably still a long way to go if anything is to happen....

Ye jin always said her ideal man is someone understanding and is able to make her feel comfortable...does BYJ fit the bill?

Although Ye jin has always said she prefers a bf outside of entertainment industry but then she does not socialize at all...so that is impossible.

Another connection...

Since Ye jin turns 21, BYJ is the only man who has ever got so physically close....(edited)

/scream and run away

SYJfan, you are a very understanding fan....... :D:D unlike a reporter from a "high-class & hip" magazine...:lol::lol:

no worry about describing the scenes in AS....i think most of the magazines/newspapers have always used that as a highlight of the movie....which i think is disrespect for the crew/artistes/director....the movie theme is about love, but reporters always highlight bed scenes instead....:angry:

Article from KOB

Today I select an article about Bae YongJoon's fan written by rootlee.

It is very~~~~ long, so I divide it into 2 parts.

and followings are the first part.

I think every Bae family has common tendency regardless nationality,

and hope you could enjoy this!!!

Subject: Bae YongJoon’s fans 1

2002/10/12 (11:39)

0506-4a.jpg

Today there was an autograph meeting of Bae YongJoon

as a model for Old & New

at the SinSeGae Department Store in Masan.

From several days ago his Official Homepage has been crowded,

And today they are really making a big fuss about the meeting.

When I came back home and entered the site on the computer,

there were already alive broadcating from the meeting spot by fans

the photographs at the spot, and even the VOD coming up.

Since last February, I have looked over his homepage every two days,

and now I can guess, by glancing at the subject, what it is about.

Missing a few episodes in the beginning,

I started to watch the drama after reading an article which said

that the drama had stirred up a phenomenon in our society,

then I had to miss another 2 episodes again

due to my trip to India.

I wanted to watch the episodes that I had missed,

and that’s why I entered the KBS hompage.

I found an abnormal fever of Bae YongJoon there intriguing.

In fact there are around 10 fan sites including his Official Homepage

that YeonYoung Entertainment opened.

‘City of YongJoon’ among them had been named as one of the highest levels

of entertainers’ homepage.

When I read postings in City of YongJoon, I was convinced

that he received critical support from intecllectuals.

Now entertainers are no longer "Tantara" (soil: sort of clown who had to make

people entertain, laugh as Mr. Fumi explained it before),

but the one who belong to groups of profession people are anxious for the most.)

When I worked for SBS radio station for a year and a half,

I could watch unusual fevers of teenager stars, and thought

Enthusiasm on stars is a kind of ceremony

that young ones have to go through like measles.

I also had an experience that when I was young,

once I sent a letter to a celebrity, then heard that the celeberity read my letter

on the radio, and turned off the radio in shock.

But Bae YongJoon’s home page turned out to be no ‘temporary

fever of immature teenagers’.

Larger part of his fans are of middle-class Azummas,

married women , with high education.

The range of age is very wide from teens to the 50s,

But 30s-40s Azummas played a key role.

More than 30% of his fans consists of Koreans abroad and foreigners in

Japan, Taiwan. Hong Kong, Singapore, and so on.

In the countries that are mentioned above there are also his sites run by local fans.

One of the most characteristic thing that stands out about

Bae YongJoon's fans is that they are very logical.

Some of the fans are very good writers,

and I can’t help but be sure that they are like people who write for their living.

Wondering how other stars’ fans write, I visited sites of several top stars,

then found that even in the sites of the most famous celebrities,

there were few postings coming up,

and the level of writing was very low.

I guess that among fans of current popular celebrities,

fans of Bae YongJoon might be at the highest level.

Watching his sites, I had to admit

there were several things I can’t understand.

Firstly, ‘NORMAL WOMEN’ who ‘FALL FOR’ Bae YongJoon candidly confess

how they feel.

There are some groups that has regular meetings

at the covered cart or the restaurants where he often visits,

talking about him with one another.

Secondly, their capability of using the computer is incredible enough

to depress people like me who can only type on the keyboard.

If the quality of VOD they brought from other sites

is not good enough, then they immediately modify it,

and post it again.

By applying all sorts of techniques,

they make unpredictable artworks.

Sometimes, they give a lecture for the people who are poor at using the computer,

And when someone post her picture as a drill,

veterans show up and give her help to modify it.

What an amazing Azummas they are !!!!!

In case Bae YongJoon shows up in a show program,

in no more than a minute the VODs come up in his sites.

What an ability to react instantly!!!

Then, they start to capture it and make a lot of photos.

I guess it is because there are many Korean fans abroad,

When a foreign fan’s posting comes up,

the translation of it follows immediately.

They can translate foreign fan’s postings

written in Chinese, Japanes, and of course English,

They really depress my sprit,

because my biggest complex is foreign language.

It can be also characteristic

that a lot of them are housewives, while a lot of them are career women.

Bae YongJoon is notorious for being very prudent

in picking out his work.

8 years have already passed since his debut,

but his works are still less than 10.

The moment he appeared on TV,

he became the top celebrity, and still remains there.

Searching in YeonHap TongSin(Communication),

Bae YongJoon has always been ranked high in most rankings,

while he didn’t even show himself.

Diehard fans nearly learn his lines by heart,

and frequently bring his past works VOD to the board for revival,

while they are waiting for him who is too much prudent

in choosing his work, debating with one another like

“please pick out a work as soon as possible.”

Or “don’t push him, please!”

Anyhow, there are increasing fans who give their words

that they would be royal fans for the rest of their lives,

waiting for him persistently

who shows up every one or two years.

When I talked about the fever of his fans to my friend,

Ms. Han ,who has 10 years of career as a repoter, said;

“I bet that in three months, they will all be gone!”

I said, “No, they won't, sweetie, I said that his fans are different, didn’t I ?”

7 months have passed since <WLS> finished,

and today I can still find the hit figure of more than 1,000

on the postings about his signature meeting broadcasting.

The fan’s slogan is “Once we love him, the love will last forever”

Or “close one's eyes and ears to the others except only YonJoon-nim”.

Who elso can stop them?

Diehard fans provide various kinds of programs to newcomers, worrying

if new fans would leave the site, being tired of waiting for him

during his resting period:

main news, entertainment industry news, fairy story serials, cooking class

music broadcasting and so on…

they post their serials everyday without stopping…..

How great Bae YongJoon is!!

If only to visit his site, I can pick up nearly all entertainment news

or common sense, I suppose.

Bae YongJoon has pointed out, in an interview for a magazine,

BOARDMAN as a fan who he remembers

She has posted national, summarized news at 6 in the morning.

And I sent this summarized news to my brother who lives in South Africa.

If I didn’t send them for a few days, he urges me to send it.

If my memory is correct, BOARDMAN said, once she heard

Bae YongJoon is good at and enjoy riding snowboard,

then she also learned how to ride snowboard, and she decided her ID BOARDMAN

The fans who love Bae YongJoon love BOARDMAN, too, putting a lot of comments

under her summarized news.

Several times I have confirmed that what happened in his official hompage

would be instantly reported on sports newspapers the next day.

Accordingly, while they are debating on some issues,

they can cool the heat by saying “we should be careful,

because there are eyes of reporters who always visit our site.

As for the articles on sports news

They sometimes comment on them.

When they saw my article on <Women Chosun> before,

it was heard that they said they liked the reporter who wrote that.

According to my friend, a drama scriptwriter,

considerably a lot of scriptwriter keep visiting his site.

And I suppose it’s like me,

not because Bae YongJoon is so wonderful.

but becase it is so intriguing how high leveled the fans are,

Since I dropped by the homepage,

there were four autograph meetings, including the one today,

and they made a really big fuss.

In two Autograph Meetings in Halla Housing Hall

‘too prudent’ Bae YongJoon ‘too prudently’ gave out his autographs

and only digested less than 1 tenth of gathered people.

On board there was a hot debate on that.

Some said that they should understand him,

and the others complained that he didn’t understand the fans

who had stayed there overnight.

Fans who came up there from other regions,

Fans who got there early in the morning by the night train or bus.

Fans who flied from Taiwan, or Hong Kong…

Bae YongJoon’s fans are generous enough to offer fans from abroad

the front line.

Some gave up getting his signature itself, worrying

that his arms might become sore from it.

Some restrained themselves to take photos of him, worrying

it could dazzle his eyes.

After the second autograph meeting

A woman posted

“I had to wait for 8 hours to get his signature,

but failed, and on my way back home, I had to pull over the car

on the shoulder to cry loudly.

I was so sad that I couldn’t see him closely,

though I had a hard time all day long taking my kid with me.”

She didn’t criticize him but herself…….

Furthermore,

Some husbands of his fans are unbelievable:

Someone who was standing in the line for his wife,

while she watched Bae YongJoon giving out signatures nearby him,

someone who helped his wife see him

by having her sit on his shoulders,

someone who let his wife go to the meeting,

while he took care of their kid at home.

someone who said that although he felt jealous of him,

he couldn’t deny that Bae YongJoon is a hansome guy,……

From when have Korean men become so generous like that?

I can remember that someone said she attached Bae YongJoon’s posters

to all over the walls in her bedroom with her husband’s consent…….

Anyhow, the two autograph meetings aroused complaints among the fans,

and at the 3rd autograph meeting, he got to the place

three hours earlier than the arranged time and

wrote his signature for six hours to all the people who came that day.

It is said that usually other celebrities wrote their signature

carelessly for 40 minutes without looking at the fans.

But Bae YongJoon always exchanges glances with his fans,

then shake hands, and takes photos with them….

What a star and what a fan of his !!!!!

No wonder,

in such a meeting, his fans prepare a present with all their hearts.

A lot of fans give him a book,

hoping that he would read a lot of books.

Some made a hat or a doll by themselves and gave him as a present.

Some gave 300 roses, some a floral wreath, some cake….

And some even gave him a formal deep bow…

General opinion of fans who had seen him closely is that

he was not like a person living in this world.

And a lot of them confess that although they are happy to know him,

they are in hard time, too, because he emotionally troubles them too much.

Old-aged women pour their aggressive affection to “JOONI”,

saying that he made them get back their fresh sentiments that they had

in their younger days and have lost since then.

When he has an autograph meeting,

broadcasting team shows up, sending real time broadcasting all day long.

Now, it’s two hours ago, … now 30 minutes ago,

YongJoon-nim arrived…. Applause…. Time to begin the meeting…

He went to the restroom and will be back very soon…

Wow, how original it is !!!!

Meanwhile, fans who can’t join the meeting

post a lot of supporting writings on the board.

Up to the third meeting, there were only writings coming up on the board,

but today, the photos of the spot and even VODs keep coming up ,

thus, the official homepage had several times its server down…..

Perhaps, from tomorrow, there will be a flood of postings about

the meeting.

Where can I see such a fuss !!!!

Diary of a Reporter

Translated by Yoon (12/27/04) and posted in BYJ's Quilt

Yoon wrote ~

It is written by Lee Kunmee in her homepage, a reporter from 'Monthly Chosun', who often reports on BYJ. She also wrote an article this January in Monthly Chosun about BYJ and his fans.

An Interview with a Japanese reporter

It was a little awkward because I, who have a job of interviewing others, was to be interviewed this time. I got interviewed yesterday by a reporter from 'Weekly Women' in Japan.

Reporters from 'Monthly Chosun' asked me, 'How did you feel about getting interviewed?". I have gotten interviewed 3 times so far. In the interviews, I keep thinking "It woule be better to make this kind of presupposition before this reporter makes this remark.. This kind of remark would better follow his previous comment to support it.." It is an occupation hazard.

Nakanishi Siho, the reporter who interviewed me yesterday.

This woman said she went around to meet people who were related with BYJ since she came to Korea. She mostly met people who met BYJ in person. She called me a few days ago to meet me and I told her to meet another reporter in Daily Chosun who had met BYJ recently.

Maybe the reporter didn't respond. She called me again. I hesistated because there was a deadline and I thought I didn't have anything to say. But when Japanese people pour so much love on an Korean actor, I felt like I should help them. I wrote an article about BYJ just the day before, so I somehow felt obliged to return the favor..meaning I thought it would be better for the sake of our national interest because at least I could tell something worthwhile.

As I expected, Nakanishi kept asking me simple questions like 'How was it when you met BYJ in person?'. So I explained to her logically(patting myself on the back) why the actor is popular, has potential and why people go wild over him.

She started nodding right away.

The Japanese reporter asked a few questions before she finally revealed her true intention. "Has BYJ ever showed his weak(this word was very inclusive and suggestive) side?"

I answered as follows:"He doesn't show his private life often. Korean entertainment reporters are tough. They disclose all the gossips about entertainers on the internet using initials (for names). Korean fans can figure out who they are even with initials. BYJ, though, was never mentioned in such a way. You can figure out about someone through their acquaintences when they don't disclose their private life. It often happens in Korea that a star and his or her manager go separate ways after an unsavory scandal. BYJ's people all have worked for him for a long time. A few years ago when one of his manager retired, BYJ gave him a car for a present." Right away, the reporter nodded.

Anyway, I kept praising BYJ as if I were his own publicist, because I felt like I had to protect him who even our usually cynical netizens call a national treasure.

The Japanese reporter had a copy of my article once published in 'Monthly Modern Times' in Japan. She was willing to hear anything about BYJ. The interview was originally planned for 30 minutes but ended up lasting 2 hours. It was because there was an interpretator in between.

While reporter was listening to what I said through the interpretator, I took a picture.

The person on the leftmost was the interpretor. She was once a photographer but was very fluent in Korean. The man in the middle is photographer Hiroshi who came from Japan with the reporter. The woman in the background was BYJ's fan who came along. She stammered a little but was quite good in Korean. I was told that a Korean man who came with her set up this meeting. I and Nakanishi went on looking at Kawasaki, not looking at each other. There was some advantages in doing an interview with an interpretor in between. I could have time to think what to say next. Also the reoprter could have time to write things down. But I felt we should have looked at each other during the interivew..

After she finished asking questions, I asked her a few.

-Do books sell well when they have articles on BYJ?

"Of course. They definitely sell more."

-Is he still popular when the Winter Sonata is over? I hear other Korean dramas are popular.

"Of course BYJ is the most popular."

-Other Korean stars went to Japan too. How is BYJ's relative popularity compared to ehm?

"It's absolute. Interests in other actors are so-so. All attentions are on BYJ."

-How long do you think Yonsama fever will last?

"I think it's only a beginning. It will last very long. BYJ's fans are not fickle young people, but older middle-aged people. They rarely change. Therefore BYJ's populary will last long and so will the interest from Japanese media.

It was just the same as what his Korean fans who I interviewed told me. BYJ's fans are so smart!

After everything is over, photographer Hiroshi wanted to ask one more thing.

"What was the difference in your feelings about him before and after you met BYJ?"

My answer: "I wasn't very interested in him and I didn't know much about him. I got to know him through watching Winter Sonata, and was surprised at intellectual level of his fans. I wanted to find out who this star was to have this kind of fans, so I kept reading fans' opinions. I wanted to verify at the interview if what fans said was really true. When I met him in person, I felt most of fans' stories are true."

During the interview, I emphasized a lot that Koreans were proficient using internet and very smart..hee hee

It was a fun interview. One word from Japanese reporter team: "You gave the most necessary and valuable informations." Well, I do speak well..heehee

I called Kawasaki after I came back from the interview.

"I have to ask you one favor. I dont' think I said anything negative but if there was any, please don't write it. I will be in big trouble because BYJ's fans are so smart. They analyze every article."

Then Kawasaki said, "We have no intention to write anything negative."

The fee I got for the interview was one box of Japanese snack.

I think BOF should give me some reward for investing 2 hours for our national treasure. The reward I want is of course an interview with the national treasure himself..heehee

QUOTE -

Scene 1:

...it is noon and after a hot bath, In su was holding Seo young. In this scene, In su and Seo young engaged in a passionate kiss. After the kiss, In su didn't ask for anything more, the couple were contented and happy and kept their hands held together.....

Scene 2:

A few days later, In su and Seo young went on a little outing of their own. On the first night, they were drinking beer and were looking at each other affectionately. Their eyes locked together.

Later on, they went back to their room and Seo young changed into her night gown while In su was standing at the window, looking out and deep in thougths.

Seo young edged towards the deep-in-thoughts In su and gently and firmly held him from behind. This night, they were brought together by their love and their fate connected finally; although late and somewhere at a wrong time.

Seo young woke up in the morning and looked fondly at In su who were still sleeping soundly. Out of instinct, Seo young brought her face close to the man she loved and planted a light kiss on his cheek. ...

Josei Jishin: The Key Scene for the Week

bb: [spoiler Alert] the following posting describes a key scene in detail,

so if you want to have an element of surprise when watching the movie,

pls skip this posting.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Original in Japanese: Josei Jishin [21st June Issue]

Translated into Chinese: 由加 You-Jia / www.loveyongjoon.com 2005/06/09

Translated into English: happiebb / www.joonsfamily.com

The Key Scene for the Week *

Bae Yong Joon, who did not have much free time to himself,

returned to Samcheok from Seoul.

For the three days beginning 30th May, he was engrossed in filming,

all cooped up in the high-class hotel running along the coastline of Samcheok Beach.

In order not to disturb the other occupants in the hotel

and also to prevent the fans from disrupting the shooting,

they had booked the entire fourth floor of the hotel.

Hanging in the atmosphere of that floor was a certain sense of tension and pent up excitement.

The following is how a staff had described the shooting work during those three days:

The scene they were shooting that day was the most difficult of the entire movie,

it was the tallest, steepest and hardest mountain to overcome figuratively speaking:

the scene of passion between Bae Yong Joon and Son Yejin.

Director Heo had asked that the two actors give their best,

to give everything they have to try and understand and communication with each other.

They both needed to be in perfect sync with each other so that the right emotions,

the portrayal of the appropriate feelings,

the extent of the feelings could transcend into the movie.

Director Heo is someone who is meticulous and very thorough;

little things and the details matter to him; nuances and touches matter too.

He did not force things and work like a bull.

To spend three days to shoot the intimate scene could only tell

how much effort he had put in to create the right atmosphere

to depict the commitment of adultery between the two people.

So, what exactly did they shoot during those three days?

Prior to this scene, there was also a scene taken of just the two of them alone.

That was at the motel, they did not share a bed then.

In the script, the two people left the motel by car and took the ferry to a little island.

It was their first little trip together.

In the hotel, they drank and made toasts to each other.

That night, late in the night, they returned to the hotel,

and for the first time, they shared a bed.

‘Back in the hotel room, she took out two sets of pyjamas from her bag.

One of them was for a man, her husband had used it before.

This time, for another man, she had brought it along.

When Insoo saw that pyjamas, he felt as if something got to him,

and he started to feel a little queasy.

To comfort him, she held him.’

There were no lines, no dialogue at all in this so-called ‘bed’ scene.

It was up to the two actors’ acting.

Their acting, the portrayal of their respective roles would determine everything,

that is to say, their acting could make or break this very critical scene within the movie.

The heightened tension and surge of emotions created in that scene

was something all other scenes could not be comparable to.

‘Insoo buried his head in her chest and sobbed like a child.’

Every staff member present was so affected by that scene

that they all could feel the heat rising from with them.

‘In order to comfort him, she kept stroking and caressing his hair to soothe him.

Unknowingly and slowly, he drifted into sleep.

But she… she continued to stare at his sleeping face longingly, lovingly.’

Yong Joon in his sleep was so sensuous looking it would make anyone’s breath quicken,

or cause them to take deep breaths or gasp for air.

‘When he woke up, he opened his eyes.

His eyes met hers, and they just looked at each other like that.

Until his lips touched her lips…’

‘Ever so slowly… they sought each other’s body with each and every touch.

When he reached out to explore, to feel her body,

she could not help the slight trembling that ran through her entire being….’

It was such a beautiful and artistic love story.

They spent the night together like that.

Yet subsequent development of the story brought another surprise,

and our anticipation heightens.

That’s the end of the three-day filming of the ‘bedroom scene’.

----------------------------------------------------------------

* bb: actually, the person who translated the news into chinese

did not give the title of the article...

i used this title coz the contents focused on describing that one

(presumably key) scene for that week.

just in case you weren't aware of it before, the japanese weekly magazine, Josei Jishin,

has been running April Snow articles almost every week since crank-in in early feb.

typically they would cover the scenes shot for that week,

as well as other information on the cast, or the shooting site, etc

Note : too bad the highlighted scene is not included
