Ji Chang Wook’s new movie, Fabricated City, looks all sorts of cool and fun. He plays a top virtual gamer who get framed in real life for a murder I’m assuming he did not commit. To unravel the truth, he engages a hacker to help him. The film also stars Shim Eun Kyung who plays the helpful hacker. The cast and director were up and about to promote the movie, which is premiering soon. Yoona will turn up for the VIP premiere if she is free, yeah? Haha. I don’t ship them in real life – I will most likely ship Yoona and Taecyeon forever – but I loved their chemistry in The K2.

Spoiler

HA. Now I understand why Ji Chang Wook doesn’t want to do action flicks for a bit. This movie was filmed quite some time ago and it’s riddled with explosive stunts and action. Doing this, Healer and then, The K2, in a span of two years is probably pretty taxing on his body and health.

When asked whether they played games, Ji said he was ranked fourth on his mobile game server he is playing. Shim said that she was interested in games but not good at them. Ahn said he was not interested in games, even when his peers played “StarCraft.”

Ji was asked to compare the film’s action scenes with his recent drama “The K2.” “Both have a number of action scenes but the difference is that I got beaten up a lot in ‘Fabricated City.’ My face was always a mess and I always had to put wound makeup on,” Ji said.

“Fabricated City” is scheduled to be released in February.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit http://www.vlive.tv.

Most of these photos were taken just before “The K2” wrapped production (especially the one below which was featured on the cover of Lotte Duty Free’s November promotional magazine), but they’re definitely worth another look.  Enjoy!

[Event] Ji Chang Wook attends the 31st Golden Disc Awards

2017011419552104900.jpeg?w=600

Ji Chang Wook attended as an awards presenter for Day 2 of the 31st Golden Disc Awards (골든 디스크 시상식), held at the Korea International Exhibition Centre (KINTEX) located in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.  If you’re not familiar with the show, the Golden Disk Awards is a pretty big deal in South Korea.  In fact, it is such a huge deal that the ceremony is broken up into two parts held over successive days.

The GDA was founded in 1986 and is presented annually by the Music Industry Association of Korea for outstanding achievements in the music industry. Ji Chang Wook had the honour of presenting the night’s biggest and final award together with actress Kim Hee Sun — the Daesang (Grand Prize).

Ji Chang Wook Casually Confirms His Military Enlistment Is Soon While Discussing His Upcoming Film

Ji Chang Wook V App

During an interview in November last year, Ji Chang Wook talked about the possibility of enlisting in the military. Now on January 17, the actor brought up the topic once more.

Ji Chang Wook appeared on a Naver V Live broadcast to promote his upcoming film “Fabricated City.”  During the show, MC Park Kyung Lim praised Ji Chang Wook’s stunt work, pointing out that his driving skills seem surprisingly good. Then the actor told her, “I enjoy riding my motorcycle.”

Ji Chang Wook V App 2

Ji Chang Wook also talked about his memorable scenes, saying, “There are many scenes of me getting beat up in the movie but I remember thinking this one thing. I played a lot of roles that where I had to [act like] I’m beating people up. After getting hit in this film, I realized having to hit someone else [while acting] is much better. I’d rather let my mind be uncomfortable,” and laughed.

Park Kyung Lim asked, “Can expect a movie like ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’?'” The actor cleverly avoided answering the question by saying “I’m enlisting in the military soon,” and inadvertently confirmed this will be his first and last film project before he goes to the army.

Ji Chang Wook also addressed how it feels to be playing an unemployed character in the film, and joked, “I’m used to it. I’m unemployed every time I finish a project. It’s not that different from my life.”

“Fabricated City” is a crime-action film that centers around a man who gets fabricated as a murderer in three minutes and the people around him who try to uncover the truth behind the case together. It will premiere in Korea in February.

[Interview] “The K2” – Mnet Japan Q and A with Ji Chang Wook

screen-shot-2017-01-13-at-2-44-34-pm.png

In advance of “The K2” beginning its broadcast in Japan on cable station Mnet today (18 January), Mnet sat down with Ji Chang Wook for a quick interview and his take on his role as Kim Jae Ha, mercenary bodyguard!

What kind of drama is “The K2”?
In short, it is a “bodyguard action” drama.  It is one that highlights fierce actions and romance.  There is also the conflict between the characters which makes it  interesting.

Who is the character Kim Jae Ha as played by Ji Chang Wook in this work?
J
ae-ha is a former soldier, but after some events happened, he was dishonorably discharged.  Then he became a top-notch mercenary, but became hunted and went on the run.  But eventually, he becomes a JSS special bodyguard.

There are so many action scenes. What was the hardest point during shooting?
Anyway, in the first half there were a lot of action scenes.  When I started shooting it was honestly very painful physically.  Besides, since it was summer when shooting, it was even harder because of the heat.

You showed brilliant action.  Do you usually normally train your body?
I like to exercise, so I usually play soccer and go to the gym.  I received special martial arts training before shooting.  The action scenes itself were not so difficult, as I played [them] in the previous work as well.

Are there any favourite scenes or dialogue?
The scene where I rescued Yoo-jin (*the car crash scene in Episode 3).  Also, there is the dialogue, “Then how should I live?” that expresses well Jae-ha’s feelings.

Jae-ha will try to protect his loved ones at his own risk, but can Ji Chang Wook put his life on the line for the person who he loves?
I do not really know until I would get into that kind of situation.  But in reality, I was able to portray it in a drama with all my might simply because it was impossible in real life.  What about me, well… I don’t think it will be easy.  (laughs)

hi, ask if anyone know if there is an international fan club (Ji chang wook) or is it by country? Also, if Fabricated City will be shown in Manila?  tnx

There is no international fan club that is recognized by Ji Chang Wook's agency Glorious Entertainment.  Wook's only official fan clubs are DayRock in Korea and his Japan Fan Club based in Tokyo.  There are ad-hoc fan clubs all over the world, but they operate independently from Glorious.

And it's too early to say whether or not "Fabricated City" will be released in Manila.  CJ Entertainment (the distributor) should make that decision after the movie makes its premiere.

Thanks, cherkell. Hopefully, Fabricated City will be shown in Manila. It seems difficult to join Dayrock. it's for Korea fans only
