This is exactly what is written in the synopsis

Ruling with an iron fist, Injo’s lust for power ultimately led to his ascension to the throne after a revolt

The eldest son of Prince Jeong-won who was the 5th son of Seonjo, Injo led an uprising (反正) that resulted in him becoming the 16th Joseon king. He was involved in more plots than any other king in Joseon history. Ten years before the uprising he created, Gwanghae had taken control of the throne, a rumour that went “Saemundong, where Prince Jeongwon (1580-1619) resides, has an aura of royalty (王氣)” began to spread throughout the capital. The West faction (Seoin) in 1615 incident (능창군추대사건, 綾昌君推戴事件) decided to choose Prince Jeong-won’s 3rd son, Prince Neungchang (1599-1615) to be the next king if their plot to overthrow the reigning king succeeded.

However, the plot was detected and Prince Neungchang (능창군,綾昌君 李佺, Yi Jeon) was executed for his involvement. Prince Jeongwon died soon after in 1619 from the loss of his son.

Meanwhile, Prince Neungyang wept openly in Gwanghwamun Square despite the danger of his actions. His crying was not meant to show his mourning for his dead brother, but an act to promote himself to the people.

When powerful men plotting to overthrow the king came to his family home, Prince Neungyang  believed they were going to choose him to be their king. But they chose his brother instead, which left Prince Neungyang feeling dejected and humiliated.

It was Prince Neungyang who leaked the details of the plot and the identities of the plotters to the government. If his brother had become the next king, he knew he would be eliminated. Power cannot be shared and his actions were justified in that it was to ensure his survival.

After his public display of feigning mourning, Prince Neungyang became a frontrunner to be the next king and he rounded support from the West Faction (Seoin), which did not know of his betrayal. But there was one obstacle in his path, which in none other than Princess Jeongmyeong. She held great sway in public opinion. Prince Neungyang was furious whenever people talked about Princess Jeongmyeong in lofty tones but he hid his anger. Since she was a princess, she could never become a king. But Princess Jeongmyeong was not following his plans. She would not resign herself to staying quite in the Gyubang  (is the Korean word which means 'living room'. The gyu-bang was a living space for married women in a traditional Korean house during the Joseon dynasty. The room was influenced by the Confucian culture to separate men and women's social position in the Joseon dynasty. The gyubang was the only place that women could live their life being apart from society, it is the place where they are suppose to do their art & craft  - similar to English knit & sew) as she spoke frequently with the ministers and politicians to voice her opinions that garnered support. This hurt Prince Neungyang’s pride and fueled his inferiority issues. So he decided to get rid of Princess Jeongmyeong...

Just for information

Prince Neungchang dies in 1615 without official being married or had any posterity, therefore Injo decided to bestow his 3rd son Grand Prince In Pyeong (1622-1658) in 1634 to be foster as his posterity. Heungseon Daewongun (흥선대원군, Gojong's Father) is the direct descendent of Grand Prince In Pyeong

@gerrytan8063  Just curious perhaps you might know.

This is the seating of the Royal Feast.
We have Princess Hyegyeong in the middle. King Jeongjo and a Prince to her left.  Perhaps the Queen and a Princess
(in Green) to her right?

Would you happen to know who is the lady sitting in the middle in front of the king's mother?

I don't know who the person in the green hanbok (maybe female relatives, Jeongjo (1752-1800) did have 2 actual younger sisters Princess Cheongyeon (1754-1821) & Princess Cheongseon (1756-1802) from Princess Hyegyeonggung), but this is what is been depicted

The annals of Jeongjo and some literary writings dating from his reign depict week-long festivities held at the newly built city of Hwaseong in the second lunar month of 1795, when construction of the fortress was still under way. Jeongjo ordered to festivities to celebrate the 60th birthday of his mother. He also ordered the court artists to paint the scenes of the birthday celebration as well as the procession of the royal entourage to Hwaseong and the memorial rites for Crown Prince Sado observed at his grave. The painting were mounted in an eight-fold screen which is now kept at the National Museum in Seoul. Princess Hyegyeonggung herself described the feast in her memoirs written in 1802. She wrote: “In the spring of Eulmyo year(1795), the late king (Jeongjo) took me to the Prince’s tomb and together we paid our respects. Afterwards he held a great feast at Bongsudang to which he invited male and female relatives and civil and military officials as well, giving them the chance to enjoy themselves drinking and eating until the small hours of the morning. The aged were offered drink at Naknamheon & the poor were given rice at Sinpungnu. Joyful spirits and the sounds of merriment filled the air from Hwaseong to the capital. All this was but to express filial affection for this old mother. Who among the officials and subjects of the entire nation did not admire him and sing his praise?” The princess was immensely proud of her son and at the same time appreciated his love for her. She wrote about Jeongjo’s personality, his academic accomplishments and his love for his parents, as following….. (Translation from The Memoirs of Princess Hyegyeonggung)
