KBS‘ variety show “1 Night 2 Days” will not be going to Los Angeles in September.

On August 31, a representative from the show told DongA that the shoot in Los Angeles, which was planned for September, had to be cancelled due to difficulty with acquiring permission from Stateside. They further explained, “We are supposed to get a response sometime this week. This American trip has been cancelled. As for our future filming plans, we will need to discuss after receiving the final response.”

As for the show’s immediate plans for programming, they commented, “We have concepts planned for 3-4 months prior. We have a lot of footage shot already, so the regular programming will not be affected.”

I am sad that the US trip might not happened and the same time about the ratings. Whatever it is, I hope it'll happen next time when it is the right time.

But about the ratings, I don't mind we were like trailing behind at 2nd place. We've had our fair share of success and I believe as soon as 'real men female special' ends, everything goes back to normal. But I really don't understand what is so special about getting women play soldier. I recently caught one of the female special 2nd season episode, it was tense and very sad and there was nothing funny about it. Interesting, maybe, but it is nothing short of seriousness for the women. I had my own personal experience serving and it was not funny business. So I personally prefered the original men version.

And then, why is it only CTH and JJY weights are revealed? What about our "gutaeng" or "babo" or "pig"?  If it was "zombie's", I might ROTFL, bcoz it may sound "devious". Who knows, his weight might be heavier than JJY's .

And i think, i might be off to watch our favorite show...soon.

So finally they cancelled the trip?? Allright, now I'm upset!

Maybe they can change to another country? There are many korean-japanese live in Japan. A friend of mine is one of them, he's a 3rd generation of korean living a japan. While he lives all his life in Japan and only visited Korea once, he decided to keep his citizenship as a Korean.

Also I know a young lady selling a super delicious kimchi in Ikebukuro St.in Tokyo. Her family has been selling kimchi in Tokyo for 3 generations all the way back to her grandfather's time.

OR  maybe our maknae can walk down his childhood memory lane in Jakarta, Indonesia where he was born  there is a big korean community here.

If that happens, stalker mode ON. I will hunt them down to wherever they shoot the filming in the city   

 

 

But most of all, I want them to shoot in North Korea.

The possibility is almost zero, but if they somehow can make it happen, it will be one the most historical trips even internationally.

Now, off to watch the subbed episode.

I am excited to find out which team will outwit the the other. I like that Jun Ho’s team are using their brains in distance measurement but really I can’t take sides!

JJY, I (and Jiwon) can totally relate with not being able to eat eel/fish bones. I can’t understand how people eat them without choking or getting pricked anywhere on their mouth to their stomach.

I enjoyed the Jeolla food race more than the Seoul night episodes -- especially Jongmin & the flying fish! -- but I have to say it's still not up to par with the better episodes this year. Maybe because they're divided again into different locations; or maybe we got too spoiled with some really awesome episodes lately that I'm now expecting every week to be on that same level of awesomeness.  Not sure if the next trip will be any better since Junho will be gone for the most part. So far, I feel like they're not even bothering to compete with the women's special...but I sure hope they prove me wrong. I wish they would do another unity mission, all six of them working together.

Given that 1N2D is supposed to celebrate the beauty of Korea, I'm not sure that many Korean viewers would welcome the idea of a Japanese trip considering their country's history under Japanese occupation. Other variety shows can get away with it (e.g. the Choo family on TROS) but probably not 1N2D. Although Seunggi & Sugeun had a short trip to Japan in S1 to visit Park Chan-ho, it might be a whole another story if they film for an extended period and show different sights.

Their overall concept is kinda limiting for them compared to other shows in that they're expected to be the poster boys of everything that's great about Korea. I thought they could pull off the LA trip because of Koreatown, but alas, it's cancelled. (Or is it?)

Since filming in NoKor is still impossible, I've been thinking they could make a special and invite someone from Defconn's family as well as other folks who crossed over to the South from the North. They could go on a trip & do fun things with them and listen to their stories. I wonder, has IC or any other variety show done something like that?

I also read one comment somewhere about bringing back the viewers special. That's a good idea. Season 3 has yet to come up with a big, ambitious project like that. The US trip would have been big but if that's really not happening, they could instead do something like the viewers special. I think they're popular enough now to be able to attract applicants -- maybe even international fans?  I don't know, just throwing ideas out there.

Sorry for the rather long post... I'm just not very busy today.

@kayefaye actually our family is a 1N2D Season 3 fan. I am from the Philippines so we watch the show every Wednesday when the subs come out. It is such an entertaining show, funny and just daebak!
