Moon Geun Young in Talks for New Movie “Sado”

Actress Moon Geun Young has received a casting offer for the movie “Sado,” (working title) and is carefully considering it.

A representative from the actress’s agency, Namoo Actors, told TV Report on May 8, “It is true that the offer was received for ‘Sado’ but nothing has been decided as of now. Moon Geun Young will think over it carefully, as it could be her first comeback to the big screen after eight years since ‘Love Me Not.’ She will need some more time before coming to a decision.”

The director of the movie, Lee Joon Ik, is known for many high-grossing films such as “The King and the Clown.” This movie will be Lee Joon Ik’s second historical movie since “Battlefield Heroes,” which was released three years ago.

In other related news, actor Song Kang Ho has already been confirmed for the role of King Yeongjo in “Sado.”

K-Pop Wrap Up: Who & What Dominated The Headlines In May 2014

May marked the return of some of the most popular male groups in K-Pop including EXO, INFINITE, and VIXX. While it was an exciting month for K-Pop fans, news headlines were dominated by disturbing rumors surrounding the impending lawsuit of former EXO member Kris.

The flames have continued to be fanned as neither party, SM Entertainment or Kris, have released solid information to the public regarding the issue. Although, this severance signals a conflict in the music industry, K-Drama fans also received disturbing news in the month of May.
Three couples in K-Drama announced their break-ups, with the most surprising news coming from two couples who fell in love while filming on set.
Actress Yoo In Ah and Ji Hyun Woo formally announced their break up on May 14, following speculation that their relationship had dissolved. K-Drama viewers were fond of the couple, who began dating following the conclusion of the time slip comedy “Queen In Hyun's Man”.
On May 15, media reports began to surface that Kim Bum and Moon Geun Young had called it quits, after dating for seven months. The actors were co-stars in the period drama “Goddess of Fire” and were also a couple that was well loved by fans.
K-Drama fans were delighted, however, to learn that actor Kim Woo Bin was newly single. On May 14, it was announced that “The Heirs” star had broken up with model Yoo Ji An.
Fans of 2NE1 vocalist Park Bom have engaged in friendly debate over whether the artist is more romantically interested in her “Roommates” co-star Lee Dong Wook or most recently, Park Min Woo.
While some shippers were busy speculating about the possibilities between these stars, others were more interested in the possibility of 2NE1x EXO (and other variations on the names).

Male groups have made a solid comeback.
SM Entertainment's EXO ushered in what has become an onslaught of male group comebacks. The group kicked off May with the release of the highly anticipated EP “Overdose” on May 7. Prior to its release, “Overdose” sold over 650,000 copies in pre-sale.
INFINITE made a strong return to K-Pop with the release of their thirteen track album “Season 2”. With a variety of musical genres, “Season 2” reflects the artistic evolution of INFINITE.
VIXX delivered a solid comeback with “Eternity”, which was released on May 27. “Eternity” is a four track EP which highlights the strengths of the ever changing group.
May was also a month for highly anticipated U.S. concert announcements.
The United States has been inundated with K-Pop concerts in recent months, with highlights including CNBLUE and U-KISS in January, followed by Boyfriend, Teen Top and B.A.P.
West Coast fans were treated to the LA K-Pop Festival and also had the opportunity to see a wide range of acts including EXO-M and B1A4 at the Korea Times Festival.
Fans of K-Pop in America are now excited for the upcoming Hallyu convention, KCON, which will take place from August 9 through August 10 in Downtown Los Angeles. Girls' Generation, BTS, and CNBLUE are among the headlining performers.

The Year's Best Celebrity Couples And A Few Not Meant To Be

June is a month associated with weddings and romance, so it's a good time to look back at the couples who got one step closer to the altar and those that called it quits. So far it has been a good year for celebrity couples and sadly also a year for a few break-ups. In fact the number of couples who announced they were dating and are still dating is equal to the number who broke up.

It was barely New Year's Day when we learned that Girls Generation's Yoona was dating actor Lee Seung Gi. He expressed his admiration of her in public a few times and yet it still came as a surprise that the Yoona, who starred in "The Prime Minister and I" was dating Lee Seung Gi, who now appears in "You Are All Surrounded." She was the first member of Girls Generation to publicly date.
Fans shipped him with Suzy Bae in "Gu Family Book," but he preferred Yoona.
Barely a few days later it was revealed that fellow Girls Generation member Choi Soo Young was also dating an actor. She was dating actor Jung Kyung Ho, who was seen in "Cruel City," "Smile" and "Time Between Wolf and Dog." The two became friendly because they went to the same university and the same church. She had her first leading roles as an actress in "The Third Hospital" and "Dating Agency: Cyrano."
Recently fans learned that actress Gong Hyo Jin was dating actor Lee Jin Wook. The actors had been dating for a few months when they were photographed out on a date together. Fans had shipped her with her "Master's Sun" co-star So Ji Sub but she chose Lee Jin Wook who was seen in "Nine" and will play a prince in "The Three Musketeers."
She will next be seen in "That's Okay It's Love" with Jo In Sung. Both actors previously dated fellow actors. She dated Ryu Seung Bum and he dated Choi Ji Woo.
It was also a year for break-ups. One of last year's favorite couples, Moon Geun Young and Kim Bum split up. The two met on the set of "Goddess of Fire: Jeonji" and publicly announced their relationship before backpacking around Europe. The relationship lasted six months.
Yoo In Na, who was seen in "You Who Came From The Stars" has dated her "Queen Inhyun's Man" co-star Ji Hyun Woo since they filmed the drama together. He enlisted and fans expected them to reconnect when he left military duty. The couple announced their breakup shortly after his discharge. He will soon be seen in the drama "Trot Lovers."
It was only last September that Kim Woo Bin, who appeared in "The Heirs," announced publicly that he was dating model Yoo Ji Ahn. And although the couple had dated for years, since they worked together as models, he broke up with her shortly after the end of "The Heirs." No reason was given for the breakup but rumors said their increasingly busy schedules kept them apart.
With six months to go in 2014, which couples do you think will declare their love and which will break up?
