It seemed that once the drama ended, all news about it also disappeared. Wouldn't it be great if they have promotional activity overseas, I miss seeing the whole casts together. :((

Ceramics festival comes to Gyeonggi-do

The Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale (GICB) 2013, the world's biggest ceramic-themed festival, has attracted people from across Korea and the world.

Under the title "Community with me, with you and with us", the festival's main exhibition hall features 51 ceramic works of art by 27 ceramists, sculptors, painters and installation artists from 18 countries around the world. The exhibition is held every two years at the CeraMIX Creativity Center in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do (Gyeonggi Province).

The venue has a unique exhibit area for the "Hot Rookies". This special display casts a fresh light on the creative and noble artistic sense of 20 international artists by reflecting 87 of their modern ceramic works. The creations come from eight countries including China, Turkey, the U.S., France, Germany, Spain and Switzerland.

As the biennale runs its course, the Gyeonggi Ceramic Museum at the Gonjiam Ceramic Park in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do, will promote Korea-China artistic exchanges with its exhibition of traditional Korean and Chinese white porcelain. The museum also plays host to an exhibit that showcases modern tableware inspired by traditional ceramics.

Porcelain tableware is also shown at another venue, the Bandal Art Museum in Yeoju, Gyeonggi-do. At the special exhibition, viewers can see how artistically beautiful such porcelain dinnerware can be when used as part of the contemporary table.

There is also an invitational show that introduces the artistic world of 17 Norwegian craftsmen.

There's a diverse range of hands on activities, too, for kids of all ages. Visitors can make and bake their own pottery creations, prepare the clay for the turntable and stoke the fire in a traditional kiln. All these events are designed to help the visitors make lasting memories with their friends and family.

The ceramics festival is spread across three Gyeonggi-do venues: the Cerapia in Icheon, Ceramic World in Yeoju and the Gonjiam Ceramic Park in Gwangju.
