The new SBS drama "The Heirs" started off with double digits.

According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of "The Heirs" rated 11.6%. KBS 2TV "Secrets" rated 12.4% and the first episode of the MBC drama "Medical Top Team" rated 7.3%.

Cha Eun-sang (Park Sin-hye) and Kim Tan (Lee Min-ho) appeared on this day's episode. Cha Eun-sang heard from her mother that her sister was getting married and visited her sister in the States with marriage funds.

However, her sister's American life was all a lie and met Kim Tan there.

Episode 1 wasn't too bad. It was kinda slow but I know it's because there's so many characters to introduce. Kim woo bin stood out the most in this episode. I don't know if Young Do is suppose to more evil than kim tan but yikes!! He totally has the chuck bass vibe in his portrayal of Young Do which I might actually enjoy.

"The Heirs", Fun VS Cheesy

Two sides of the viewers' have been spoken.

On the first episode of the SBS drama "The Heirs", Cha Eun-sang (Park Sin-hye) visited her sister in the States.

Kim Tan (Lee Min-ho) was sent off to the States by his cold-blooded brother Kim Won (Choi Jin-hyeok). Cha Eun-sang on the other hand, did all sorts of part time jobs to maintain a living.

As much as it deals with wealthy high school students, images of Kim Tan's surfing or his American house stood out. However, the English lines and maturity of the characters did make it seem cheesy.

Netizens say after the first episode, "I have decided on you", "It's great", "It's a bit cheesy", "It's a pretty boy drama", "Why does it show him surf so much?", "The visual is different", "Lee Min-ho is handsome", "It's so fancy from the beginning" and more.

I liked this first episode, but I hope they go back to Korea ASAP, I think that this LA little adventure is just the beginning for the main couple relationship. As in, they get to know each other. Kinda. So, it's a vacation, we just get to know the characters and their circumstances, and then school begins again, and well, things start to change with Tan's return. Every character has a lot of potential, so I look forward to seeing their development.
Does anybody know how many episodes are they going to be in LA? Maybe 4?I loved Kang Min Hyuk's character. So sweet!

Well I think maybe there is 4 US episodes but they don't air all 4 US episodes all at once, maybe they leave for korea and then come back, remember they filmed at redlands too? so maybe they're gonna come back for the university portion

@jjsweeter0211 Good morning- you are bright n early and have been working hard- thanks for all the pics and gifs. The entire cast is awesome and I am excited to get to know them better. I hope the writer doesn't disappoint with the characterizations. So far we know all of them have issues, which is good as it means that they are imperfect n it would be interesting to see how they grow. Can't wait.

As for the 'Engrish'seriously I hope we should all put an end to this matter especially since I know more comments will come in as more will be watching with subs. I bet more than half of readers here in this forum are not English native speakers and we all speak English with our own unique slang and accents. So really why do we expect these KD actors to speak English as the natives do-just so long as he/she gets the message across? I thought KT's accent was sooo romantic lah! (Lah as done in Singapore and Malaysian style )

Off to watch with subs and more ogling of the gorgeous guys and even the girls.
