Guest fantast1k1
Here's the gist of the first episode, please bear with me. The first act showing Ha Ryu as some kind of police intelligence storming the Blue House while Da Hae as First Lady was welcoming and entertaining some guest. Then, they ended up in the room together having an argument---there was a gunshot---both standing close together, can't see whose blood was dripping----flashback time. Ha Ryu found Da Hae with her dead mother, Da Hae collapse and ended up in the hospital. Ha Ryu ended up paying for hospital bills and Da Hae mother's funeral. Da Hae ended up living with Ha Ryu because her step dad keeps looking for her. Later on It turns out, her stepfather abuses her. Da Hae started reviewing for college entrance exam (at least that's what I understood). She passed the entrance exam and they went to the beach (wish I can understand what they were yelling at the beach). The had drinks, Da Hae got drunk---piggyback scene---and then they kissed(suweet!) ended up in the hotel overnight. (Bed scene was kinda vague) Abusing step father found out where Da Hae currently lives, found her...and next scene, Da Hae stabbed him...till next episode. I truly apologize, I really don't understand the dialogue...wish I really could :\">

Guest aemi
Is there any indication of who the president (Da Hae's husband) is? Surely not Yunho?

Ayachou
So Ae is just so, so amazingly talented. She's captivating to watch. I'm always baffled how she makes every single character she plays into something different and new and entirely her's.All child actors were sweet, I was moved by the scene with the youngest one playing Da Hae.Kwon Sang Woo is effortless and easy, his acting is clear and speaks of 10+ years working in the business. I like what he's made out of the character so far, hard-working, unpretentious yet a bit puppy-ish. I just hope Ha Ryu won't be the 2-dimensional kdrama hero, someone who's nice by default and will sacrifice everything for his love. The music is atmospheric and promising, especially in the quiet, intense and also in the funny scenes. Towards the end it went a bit too dramatic imo, but it's a melodrama after all.The cinematography was beautiful, not too soft, a bit edgy and thankfully realistic. Yet, I think the characters were still a bit too polished: Some of them looked too good or stylish to be playing poor, hard-working people. But that's very, very often the case on TV, so /shrugHere's my take and ramblings on the first episode (I watched it raw and only know some very basic korean) (spoiler cut)What I didn't get at first was Da Hae's and Ha Ryu's childhood connection. Have they been neighbors? Did something happen back then?I mean there has to be a reason she didn't ask him for help after her mom died, at least to stay with him and his nice "ahjumma" for awhile, maybe get a job at the horse club, too. Is it pride? Or some kind of misunderstanding between them?As far as I understood she got abused by her stepdad... ? When she was having that flashback she was telling Ha Ryu of her childhood and her stepdad but it didn't look like she was telling him too much, because he kind of reacted way too calm.It was hilarious when Ha Ryu went completely crazy when he learned that she got accepted to university ^^It's kinda ironic and sad that Da Hae was almost a hostess just for Ha Ryu to later kind of apply for a similar job to pay for her tuition fees... because he gets the same sleazy treatment, yet it seems more accepted when it happens to him than her (maybe a meta-moment for social criticsm?).But the scene - from a detached point of view - was really funny: how that shady boss checked him out, staring at his crotch, grabbing his butt and chest and biceps and sniffling him lol
huama
This is my first time ever watching Soo Ae act, I've heard great things about her, and her acting here did not disappoint at all! She displayed such a wide range of emotions right there in one episode, it just blew me away! She's truly phenomenal. I think she was the main highlight of the episode for me.As for the storyline, it isn't anything new, but again, it's Soo Ae that's making things different here. They first episode was not really 'solid' in my opinion, but enough to make me want to keep watching. What's also keeping me watching is the music! I love all the instrumentals! As for Da Hae, man they really showed how tough her life was. All these sub-plots in her life I can see are really contributing and building up to her desire to find a way out of poverty such as when she's eating with Haru and she just calmly asks him to 'buy' her so she can use that money for her mother's funeral. @ayachouDa Hae and Haru lived at the same orphanage that's how they knew each other. Her parents tried comitting suicide (from the flashback) and I guess she was sent to the orphanage then. Her mother comes and picks her up with her new 'step-father' and brother, but her step-father sexually abused her. (It seems her step-brother is at least a good person, and Da Hae mentions something to him like 'oh, it was all because of me that you went to prison', so I'm not sure what happened)As for the hostess thing, Da Hae doesn't know about him doing it (obviously), and I certainly don't think that it can be viewed that it's more 'accepted'. Whether man or woman, doing these sort of jobs both require putting down your pride.

Guest fantast1k1
Hello Everyone...Ha Ryu???First off, thank you Hiyaya-Iguana Soap for the viki link...I've finally saw Yawang with English sub, its better with dialogue, that's for sure Episode 1 heartbreaking lines: Da Hae's mother was dying and her parting words to her were "Don't go hungry." While eating, Da Hae's asking Ha Ryu to just buy her so that she can bury her mother. Now that I've seen Epi 1 3x, there was only one gunshot. My guess is Da Hae shot Ha Ryu I really like the scene at the Blue House when Ha Ryu and Da Hae confronted each other. SA and KSW were giving us great acting. Both of them were giving it their best. SA's acting depth is superb, one minute she's scared and on the next she's tough as a nut Its like watching someone with bipolar personality and making it look easyA big thank you to the producers and casting crew who thought of Soo Ae and Kwon Sang Woo pairing=D>
